The property is beautiful but keep in mind it has been hit by three hurricanes in two years so they are rebuilding the pool and other areas again. I would call ahead to find out what is going to be open before you visit.

The mandatory 20% service charge feels excessive, especially since it’s added every single time you order something at the beach or pool. For the nightly rates they charge, it’s unreasonable not to include at least two bottles of water per night — and even more so when the bottles in the room come at an extra cost. The pillows are also in urgent need of replacement. The only standout was the beach staff, who provided truly exceptional service with the chairs and umbrellas.

Property is great. Most of it is closed down however, due to hurricanes. Rooms are really nice. Staff is amazing. Many up charges. Valet parking only. You cannot park your own car.

We knew prior to our booking that they were issues based on residual damage from the hurricane. 2 of those issues was infinite and television service. Also, the fact that the only one elevator was working in the building that we were staying at which caused issues as it had to have to be used by both the staff cleaning rooms and servicing the building and the guests

Our stay was wonderful. All personnel were friendly, helpful and were dedicated to making our stay as good as possible. The hotel’s location on Vanderbilt beach can not be beat. If you like pickleball it is only a 10 minute drive from Veterans Community Park and it’s free, active, busy, competitive open play and pickleball courts. It was obvious that the hotel was still recovering from the last hurricane with the first floor of the beach view rooms being closed and undergoing repair. The hotel’s tech fell short of expectations. Internet was slow or non functional from our patio. The hotel telephone system did not work and all calls to the valet, concert, housekeeping, etc. had to go through the front desk. The room TV’s were not smart so unlike many modern hotels, we could not use our own YouTube tv, Netflix and other subscription services to access our favorite programs. Despite these concerns we loved our stay and would choose this hotel for future stays.

Our room was only accessible via a broken door labeled as “Emergency Access only.” The balcony of the room overlooked a construction staging area and a large portapotty for the swimming pool. We found 5 cockroaches in our room. At that point we asked to change rooms, which was not warmly received. Never left a bad review, but for the price, feel compelled to do so. The 2nd room was better, but the initial experience tainted the whole stay.

We were checked in by someone who made some inappropriate remarks. He failed to mention our VIP perks, when I reminded him he said no upgrades were available for the entire stay. The room was not clean, found a used q tip in the closet floor. Rug full of stains and all furniture was outdated and showed signs of wear and tear. No complimentary teapot, slippers or water provided. Unnecessary surcharges on anything you order. Mandatory and overpriced valet parking as there is no where else to park nearby. Five star hotel prices for two star amenities and service. Only positive is that the beach staff were very attentive and kind. Would never stay here again!

Ants in room-service was just okay-place needs updating-prices very high for what you get. Lack of attention to detail-Balleen was just fair-signature grouper dish highly recommended by server was warm (not hot) and risotto cake was undercooked (and for $65 per portion ????? ) overall price for value received was WAY TO HIGH).

Quiet property. Nothing to do or activities after 8 pm.Restaurants and bars inside and outdoor close earlier than stated at the hotel. Pools close early. Bed bugs found in our bed. We got multiple bites and left a day early.

The location of the hotel is good and the beach was beautiful with easy access and a good service for food and drinks etc. On the flip side we were surprised and disappointed by the hidden costs such as, a daily resort fee of $55, daily parking costs and even having to pay for water as none is provided in your hotel room for free. We stayed in the Tower and our roon had a bit of a damp smell and a constant whistling sound from the wind from the corridor. Overall, our stay was ok but, not worth the price.

The view was amazing. But little things were not done. Coffee in room was cheap and bad. The pull out sofa was horrible. And only 1 elevator for 15 floors . Is that even legal? Only 1 place to get coffee-to go- and only 1 girl serving. And you want over $8 for a small cup. Ridiculous. So not classy.

We have mixed feelings about this place… the beach is beautiful, plenty of pools if you have kids, and room service is great and responsive, however, we didn’t get the best service around the pool- we had to go to the bar ourselves to order food and drinks because it could be an hour before any of the staff checked on us for orders/ more drinks. The cocktails were really bad and watery we couldn’t taste the alcohol. Food was good but not 5 star level and worth that much money. Our expectations were not met

Excellent location, great views from 15th floor. However, initial reception was not the best. I requested early check-in and was completely dismissed. Customer service and a warm reception could be greatly improved. I saw other guests able to check in earlier and reception varied by staff member.

Might as well just write a blank check! I don't recommend HOTELS.COM or this hotel. Hotels.com gives me a firm price, but the hotel OVERCHARGES me with random numbers and NO EXPLANATION, saying they are unable to print me a detailed receipt! They started out hitting me for much more than expected. When I pushed back, they dropped it, but still was higher than expected, again, without justification.

We have been going to Naples, Florida for the past 15 years, this by far is the best hotel. The staff is very helpful and always pleasant. The front desk cannot do enough for you. The beach is beautiful, pools are great. 15 minute drive to Naples 5th Ave. Am going to stay again. Thanks LaPlaya!

Very expensive! Two drinks and tortilla chips were $70. Bread with dinner $11. Bottled water in room $9 each. Not many choices for food and only one restaurant. Staff was very nice, place was clean. Beach was beautiful. Must have a car because nothing walkable near by.

Beautiful property, beautiful clean rooms. Wasn’t informed of extra charges that were being applied after being told “it’s included.” Would have been nice to know. Wasn’t informed of holding fee of an extra $200 a night for “amenities” until we arrived. When booking it just looked like a $120 fee. The food is not kid friendly or budget friendly. Decided to splurge and order room service one morning and the bacon was nasty and the waffle was raw. Not to mention the guy who delivered it walked right in, not a comfortable situation. Overall a nice place, but did have some down falls.

LaPlaya resort is a gorgeous property and situated around the ocean! We loved the Tiki Bar and dining at Baleen is excellent! Drinks are pricey but with the view makes that thought go away quickly. Thank you Claude for your hospitality. What a wonderful stay!
