Beautiful medium sized hotel in prime position overlooking Portree and the adjoining loch. Wonderful staff, delivering excellent service throughout the stay. 10 minute walk into Portree. Spacious, well-appointed room in great condition. High quality restaurant with stunning views straight done the Loch. Large, cosy lounge adjacent to the bar and their scotch collection. Will come back again if ever in Skye.

Wonderful luxury hotel on Skye. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. The room was very luxurious with all the essentials and a comfortable bed. The hotel's restaurant was one of the best meals we had with an absolutely stunning view to boot. Ample parking and walkable to the town center. Highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel, wheelchair accessible room was absolutely perfect, so much space and the views were stunning in all weather. All members of staff were extremely helpful and kind. Perfect base to explore, we stayed for 3 nights and managed to cover all (bar Raasay distillery) if the points of interest on the hotels map of the island plus more!

The hotel is located at a 10-15 minute walking distance from the centre of Portree. The views from the hotel breakfast room and terrace are amazing! The lobby and bar area are nicely decorated and furnished. Our room was clean, with a comfortable bed and renovated bathroom. Just a few improvements would make this hotel perfect: The breakfast service would be better if started at 7 am, since many customers leave early to continue their trip. Also, the dinner service ended quite early and the menu did not have enough suitable options for seafood allergics/vegetarians.

This was by far the best place we stayed in Scotland. The property is just gorgeous and overlooks the bay in Portree. It was immaculately clean and the bed was super comfy. The staff was so accommodating and helpful, especially Craig the bartender, he is an absolute gem.

Very comfortable, clean & friendly property with fantastic dining options and great bar area. Staff were extremely professional and friendly. We stayed in Premier Seaview room which was lovely. Extra touches like fruit, water bottles and biscuits daily was much appreciated.

Beautiful hotel maintained to a high standard. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food in restaurant was amazing. We had lamb for main course. It melted in your mouth. Just amazing. Ambience was warm and welcoming. Particularly liked the open fire. The grounds and views remind you how beautiful our country is. We will be back.

The hotel, views and rooms are beautiful. The amenities offered are bellow basic and the bathroom was not very clean. The room was also pretty hot. The breakfast was not great. You’ll do better exploring the local restaurants. Although the view from the restaurant is gorgeous. Location is central and close to a nice little town area with shops and restaurants

Stunning hotel and very high standard! Rooms immaculate and very comfortable. Modern. Only issue is the resteraunt food. Trying too hard to be posh to the point myself and partner had to walk out the resteraunt as there was literally nothing in the menu we would have eaten. High prices for the food and very little “regular choice” of dishes. Otherwise could. It fault it in any way and wouldn’t put me off going back. Lovely, lovely hotel in a stunning location

We were so disappointed with our experience. The water-view rooms were all sold out when we booked and for £350 a night I was expecting more than a damp room with a view of the car park. It smelt very unfresh particularly in the bathroom where there was clearly a damp problem. Our room lacked privacy as anyone in the car park could see in so we had to have the blinds closed all the time. I really regret not booking elsewhere as service was also very mixed. The receptionist that checked us in was great, but other service awful. After failing to get any attention, we had to get up to find waiters at breakfast when what we ordered didn’t come, and we spent a dinner being ignored by any servers all evening even though it was quiet. We also saw multiple people complain about, or return food, which I’ve never seen anywhere before!

Me and my husband stayed for a weekend in the Hotel. The room and the bathroom was really clean and had everything you need. The bed was very comfortable and the location and the view is just Wow. The staff was really helpful and friendly. The restaurant has the best view in town and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed our time there and for sure we will return.

Loved everything about our stay. The room had a great view of the harbor. The restaurant was amazing! The staff were lovely and had great suggestions. And there was a terrific moderate hour walk from the hotel that went in a large circle with many sheep. An ideal location for sunrise photos. Highly recommend.

We had such an amazing stay at the Cuillen Hills Hotel. First, the weather in Skye this week has been perfect, just gorgeous. The room was comfortable, we opted for a premier room with a view of the water and the Cuillens. The setting of the hotel, on the water with the mountains in view cannot be beat. The food was delicious. But most notably, the staff were so helpful and accommodating. I hurt my knee coming down the Storr and they went out of their way to help. Ice packs, room service, arranging a taxi to a meal, and more. Thank you to everyone there!

What an amazing place. We found it by accident and are so glad we did. It had an actual king size bed - not that common outside of the US. The bed was so comfortable. The shower was amazing, towel warmer was fantastic, bath sheets were huge. The water, fruit and extras in the room were so nice. The view is incredible and to sit at breakfast every morning and look at the water was breathtaking. Breakfast was delicious and generous. Hotel is away from the center of town but an easy walk into town for restaurants, shopping, etc. The service was amazing. They went over and above on everything. We can’t say enough good things about this place.

Checking in the staff seemed bothered by having to Check us in. The room was extremely hot. We had to leave the windows open to try to cool down. The morning breakfast was wonderful and the staff there was very friendly.

The room was comfortable, we opted for a premier room with a view of the water and the Cuillens. The setting of the hotel, on the water with the mountains in view cannot be beat. The food was delicious. But most notably, the staff were so helpful and accommodating. I hurt my knee coming down the Storr and they went out of their way to help. Ice packs, room service, arranging a taxi to a meal, and more. Thank you to everyone there!

We booked last minute, choosing Cuillin Hills because it is a 10 minute walk into the heart of Portree, and central to Skye, based on reviews we read. We could not have been more pleased. Donelle at reception greeted us warmly and chatted with us about our plans for Skye. We were so disappointed with our experience. The water-view rooms were all sold out when we booked and for £350 a night I was expecting more than a damp room with a view of the car park. It smelt very unfresh particularly in the bathroom where there was clearly a damp problem. Our room lacked privacy as anyone in the car park could see in so we had to have the blinds closed all the time. I really regret not booking elsewhere as service was also very mixed. The receptionist that checked us in was great, but other service awful. After failing to get any attention, we had to get up to find waiters at breakfast when what we ordered didn’t come, and we spent a dinner being ignored by any servers all evening even though it was quiet. We also saw multiple people complain about, or return food, which I’ve never seen anywhere before!

During our 2-week visit to Scotland, I managed to catch RSV. I was miserable. And by the time we reached Portree, I was struggling to breathe. My husband spoke to the Cuillin Hills hotel staff about how to go about seeing a doctor and they immediately got to helping us out. The desk staff spent over an hour on hold with the NHS to help establish my "temporary resident" status so that we could even get in to see a doctor. They printed out a map with all of the addresses of the nearby healthcare facilities. They allowed me to order off of the children's menu, as my appetite was non-existent and I was only able to tolerate blander food. They also let us know that we could extend our stay as long as needed, if I was too sick to travel to the next destination. And on the day we left, they told us to not worry about the check-out time. We could take as long as needed to get packed and out the door. I have never received better service at ANY hotel establishment, in my 30 years of travel experience. I wish I could give more than just 5 stars. The Cuillin Hills Hotel is truly the cream of the crop and has set a standard of service I'm not sure any future establishment will ever match.

Beautiful medium sized hotel in prime position overlooking Portree and the adjoining loch. Wonderful staff, delivering excellent service throughout the stay. 10 minute walk into Portree. Spacious, well-appointed room in great condition. High quality restaurant with stunning views straight done the Loch. Large, cosy lounge adjacent to the bar and their scotch collection. Will come back again if ever in Skye.

The hotel, views and rooms are beautiful. The amenities offered are bellow basic and the bathroom was not very clean. The room was also pretty hot. The breakfast was not great. Stunning hotel and very high standard! Rooms immaculate and very comfortable. Modern. Only issue is the resteraunt food. Trying too hard to be posh to the point myself and partner had to walk out the resteraunt as there was literally nothing in the menu we would have eaten. High prices for the food and very little “regular choice” of dishes. Otherwise could. It fault it in any way and wouldn’t put me off going back. Lovely, lovely hotel in a stunning location
