The Westbury Hotel

Lot of noise from refurbishment of one of the floors This was not mentioned on the website. The building noise was present during the day but included an 8.15 start on Saturday morning.

A fabulous hotel in the center of Dublin. Major tourist attractions were mostly within walking distance. Unfortunately the hotel is renovating and the noise began at 9:30 am Through 6pm… it was very unpleasant, especially with jet lag. Check On this before you book!

This hotel excels in classic luxury and excellent service. We felt this property was special as soon as we walked in. The staff throughout the hotel was courteous and friendly and very accommodating. We were provided an early check in which was much appreciated after an overnight flight. The restaurants were also top notch - we had dinner at Balfes and breakfast at Wilde and enjoyed both. Finally, our King room was luxurious and well appointed. We were in room 409 across from the elevator, but heard no noise whatsoever. Finally, the location was stellar - within walking distance to the best shopping, restaurants, Trinity College and Temple Bar. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location for center of Dublin, reasonable value, and accommodating staff. Sidecar a great spot for pre-evening drinks, though busy and service can be spotty. Some nights were great, others times less so.

Customer service is exceptional. When we checked in, we had a second floor, and some construction was happening on the floor above. The front desk staff were accommodating and placed us on the fifth floor. We are delighted with the time we spent there. We highly recommend the hotel.

Construction happening in the room next door kept us awake after a 13 flight whilst trying to nap.

Short (one night) but fantastic stay in Dublin. Everything at the hotel is top notch - especially The Sidecar Bar - amazing cocktails.

Sidecar was great as was the dining spot.

Great property just back from Grafton street feeling a bit quieter but still in the center of the action. Lovely rooms and the afternoon tea was a highlight

Great location. Room is extremely small. Room was only cleaned once for the 3 nights we stayed at the hotel.

Hotel looking tired. Needs new carpets, new wallpaper. The throw on the bed had coffee stains on it. The carpet had stains on it. I asked to use a nail file & borrow some hair straighteners- they didn't have either. Our luggage took along time to come to our room on arrival. Overall a tired hotel. Food was lovely in Wilde. Staff very friendly in the restaurant. Breakfast was good. I won't return though.

We have been in the hotel a number of times over the years. The entrance hall is beautiful and the service is great. Unfortunately they have really neglected the general cleanliness of the hotel, as I walked along the corridor to the room there was thick visible dust in most of the woodwork. The rooms and bathrooms are tired and chairs chipped. Having stayed 5 star all round the world it really did leave me slightly disappointed given the price. They need to step back and consider some investment or at least improved cleaning standards.

Property was clean and staff was nice. Food at hotel was also good. Hotel location was great! Everything was within 30minute walk.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was very clean and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. It had a great location and was walkable to all the main attractions.

The Westbury is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at anywhere in this grand, lovely world. It has a lot to do with the courtesy of the staff, its convenience to the city Centre, and how the cleaning staff maintains the perfectly kept rooms.

Clean room, shopping nearby

Worst stay I have every had. EVER. They allowed a wedding party to pretty rock the house until 12:30 am. We arrived early that morning from the states and were badly jet lagged. Did not get to sleep until almost 2 am. Had planned to get up and be in Wexford by noon. Instead did not wake until 9:00 still jet lagged and did not get to Wexford until 2:30. Pretty much ruined our 1st full day, crapped out our second day and left me pretty just as sleep deprived as the day before. No apologizes from anyone just excuses. I waited until 11:15 pm to even call the front desk thinking a hotel that protrays themselves as “5 star” would end the noise at that time. The party actually got much worse the later it got. A five star hotel does not book obnoxiously loud wedding parties. The staff I encountered were extremely gracious and I have zero negative to say about anyone we came in contact with. The individual who booked that wedding should reevaluate his or her career because that person is the reason this bad review is being drafted. To spend that kind of money and not be able to sleep is beyond the pale.

Air conditioning not working in the room and lights wouldn’t work properly, not really a 5 star stay. Bathrooms are not 4star. Disappointing

The Westbury is an amazing hotel. The staff were lovely. The room was great, the linens of high quality. It was a treat too stay here and we hope to visit again soon.

Rooms are outdated. No warm water in the shower.

Great location and common areas, small, really cramped (regular) rooms, some staff (concierge bell boys) have a major attitude problem the service is far from what one would expect at a 5 star hotel would not return because of that

The property is pretty, the staff amazing, and the drinks were wonderful. My complaint is that the noise. So much noise from outside and neighbors. The walls are extremely thin. The next door guests had a baby, and that baby didn't want to sleep between 10pm to 6am.

It was a good hotel great location. Could use more power outlets, we had just one near the bed.

The rooms are pretty small - especially the bathroom. It’s in the heart of shopping and dining though, so if you’re looking for convenient then this might be your place.

We left a shirt in our room and have not heard back since the day we checked out on Aug 31. It’s been 3 days since our check out.

The service was amazing at every level… from checkin to checkout and everything in between! Thank you!

Wonderful staff, super location and first class pillows!

Really dissapointed with the Westbury on our stay. We checked in and we mentioned it was a special stay for us. We got a room right next to the lift on the 3rd floor, I asked if we could change rooms which I was told no other option but to spend additional 150 euros to change room. Also when we checked in no one mentioned that Breakfast wasn't included and this was mentioned either. We qued for breakfast this morning and were told if we wanted breakfast it would be an additional 72 euros. Great location, Wilde restaurant was spectacular but really poor service from the front desk, we should have been advised that breakfast wasn't included and provided us with other room options.

Excellent hotel close to most of the major attractions in Dublin. Most restaurants and shopping areas were within easy walking distance. Hotel staff were very courteous and helpful with a smile. They were very accommodating with taxis trains and map locations. They gave us tips on the best restaurants for the type of food we were looking for as well as quickest routes to the attractions we wanted to see. The Westbury’s doorman Conor was a fountain of information and went out of his way for the visitors. We have travelled around the world and this was one of our best experiences.

We arrived to check in at 3.40 pm and our rooms wasn't ready. I explained that we had dinner booked for 4.30 and wasn't offered anywhere to change or freshen up. I informed the receptionist that we wouldnt be back until late. We were going to a concert and asked to ensure my luggage was taken to the room only to arrive back at midnight with no luggage in the room. Considering the price i paid for the room i was more than disappointed by the service

There is a lot of construction near the hotel and it was very difficult to pull into the front entrance.

The hotel is beautiful and in an amazing location…. But if you want quiet nights, you may need to stay somewhere else. You are in the middle of all things wonderful, which also means there are people singing on the street u til 12am on the weekend. Plenty to do around the hotel, most things are walkable, staff is excellent!

Perfect spot to stay in Dublin. Right off of Grafton Street so walkable to the best shopping and food/drinks as well as Trinity College and St. Stephen's Green

We loved the stylish lobby, and enjoyed guest access to the cocktail bar and lounge. It was our wedding anniversary and one of the staff in the cocktail bar presented us with a complimentary dessert to share, which was fabulous and so thoughtful. On the down side, on the Friday night we could hear music playing loudly from outside until 2am. Our friends on the other side of the corridor didn't hear anything, so it may be worth checking. Overall a great experience, such a central location.

Ideally located in the heart of Dublin’s central shopping district.

Should be better with the coffee they serve. 5star hotel should know better than that. Overall was ok

A truly luxurious stay with exceptional service from start to finish. The Wilde Restaurant was a highlight—our meal was absolutely delicious, both refined and full of flavor. The hotel’s location is excellent, just steps from Grafton Street shopping and Trinity College, making it ideal for exploring Dublin. Highly recommend for anyone seeking comfort, elegance, and convenience.

Meals are expensive if you don't include them, but the breakfast is worth it! Great location - walkable to everything and on a quiet little road. It's our 3rd visit and we will be back. People are super nice and friendly as well! Bar is fantastic!

Lovely stay only downfall was breakfast in the restaurant. Sevice was very slow coffee and toast had to be requested twice and breakfast was cold by the time I got it. It was pretty expensive for what I got.

Firstly I had been looking forward to trying the Westbury hotel and on arrival checked in with reception whereby I asked about a free upgrade as I was there for 1 night and a gold member of hotels.com. The hotel was not full occupancy and yet the opportunity to enhance my experience was missed. There was no upgrade provided. The hotel looked jaded in the pubic areas and I went to my room - the lift did not have security to stop anyone who entered it from accessing floors. I was on the 6th floor. My room overlooked an office block and I got what I paid for. the room was clean and comfortable and bathroom nice. I went to the Wilde restaurant which I will review separately and was below par on the food not the service. The breakfast buffet the following morning was poor with a minimal selection. I paid for an Irish breakfast and had the meanest plate offering with one piece of bacon and 1 sausage- poor. On check out the reception team were flustered and I indicated I would sit in the lounge area to do some work. They said my receipt would be brought to me. After a few hours and as I was leaving - no receipt came. I returned to the reception and eventually was issued the receipt. My overall view is that this hotel could not compete with european 5 star hotels. The service is average and they need to step it up significantly. I did share my feedback with the hotel afterwards.

Location is amazing, you are literally steps away from city center - shops, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, etc. Staff was also amazing including our interaction at Concierge, Sidecar bar, in the hallways, etc. Front desk was alright, but we had much better interaction with rest of staff. Only biggest complaint for us was the AC not working properly. It would shut off every 45 mins or so and would have to get up to turn it on which was not fun at night when you are trying to get sleep. There was nothing that could be done about it either which was disappointing considering how expensive the hotel is. Outside of that, great spot - Sidecar bar had amazing wine list and great cocktail list with friendly bartenders. Food at restaurants was meh - nothing exciting on menu, but there are plenty of spots around to go hit up for food instead.
