It’s a great location and on the cairns Esplanade.The whole place needs a very thorough maintenance and facelift.The rooms very spacious and great .The air con needs attention as it just had water on the floor and is dangerousl for one to slip.Sad that the bar and restaurant needs facelift and isn’t inviting for people to come enjoy socializing.There’s only front manager so it sends a bad vibe to attract customers.Great spacious car park and we loved the room.Please take note the whole building needs facelift.

We managed to get a last minute booking and I also messed up my dates, they were very accommodating. We started in a dodgy place before moving here last minute and we were stoked with the view, the comfortable bed and the clean amenities. Everything with adequate and our room on level 8 was quiet. Went to use the spa - wasn't working. Might need to ask reception to turn on? Was too cold for pool but would have used if warmer. Restaurant food was average, but other places are only a 15 min walk away.

Only one lift was working the whole time of our stay. Quite often there wasn't room in the remaining lift to use it as cleaning staff were occupying it. There was no door chain or other means to secure the door closed internally. From our balcony we observed a domestic dispute outside one of the rooms, with the door being kicked in and damaged with threats, swearing and yelling echoing around the complex. Our shower head was very poor, good water pressure but a solid sheet of water rather than a rose sprinkler action. Did not feel like a safe place to stay.

The service was wonderful. Very accommodating with requests for extra bedding and utensils. The hotel itself is in great disrepair. The cleaners do a good job of cleaning it, but the hotel itself is in very bad condition. Our beds were rock hard and warped in shape, white goods were falling apart and rusty, bathroom was full of mold and tap was falling apart. The pool area is full of broken tiles even around the edges of the pool so can easily fall in. Needs a lot of investment to get it to a standard level again.

Smoking problem. Fire evacuation due smoking fire dept arrived. Cant have balcony doors open due to pot and meth smoke. Building run down, electrical lamps broken hanging away from walls in and out. Tennis court filled with abandoned cars, pool area outside eating area run down, property next door burnt out shell. Disgracefully cheap, they dont care.

Accomodation is quite a walk from the CBD. Laundry facilities are very poor with only one working washing machine and a system which is not user friendly. Convenience store didnt appear to be open during our stay, nor the onsite restaurant/ bar. Service not very friendly or welcoming and only one lift working. Room was clean, bed comfortable and pool nice (though pool towels not peovided either).

Nowhere near a 3.5 star property … Property photos on booking sites are OLD photos from the late 80’s / 90’s…. Room wasn’t ready on checkin at 2.00, the cleaner was rude, she went as far as showing up at reception & rudely interrupted me speaking with the Ladies… The new elevators are great, stepping out on the floor level we were greeted with a DAMP, MUSTY / MOULDY SMELL, enter the room & everything is damp / wet … VERY POORLY MAINTAINED!!!

An ageing property that is being updated bit by bit. Shower soap dish was corroded beyond belief. Shower tap was years beyond being replaced. They are trying and everything was cleaned well but somethings just need to be replaced.

Great cleaners, no probs asking to make up room or bring fresh towels. Staff were helpful as aircon didn't work one day, but problem was addressed and fixed immediately. Fast elevators, mostly quiet Hotel except one night we had rowdy neighbours, but that could happen anywhere. Nice view of Cairns Esplanade from 8th floor with balcony and good block out shutters for morning sun. Parking is non specific, park anywhere, sometimes the car park was full and our vehicle had to park on Lake St, but that seemed ok. We were a little reserved after reading some reviews of Acacia Court, but after our experience staying here I'd be happy to give it a good rating

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in - should be condemned. Cairns City Council need to get onto it sooner rather that later. Mouldy, dirty room with used shower gels in bathroom, fridge PAINTED and rust showing through, floor gritty, no fan or window in bathroom - I could go on, but words fail me. Just don't go there.

Getting a bit long in the tooth! The property is aged and everything thing is a bit tired and battered, they’re currently renovating though and I think the price reflects that. The staff were pleasant and the rooms clean. We only stayed one night for transit.

Could do with a spruce up - tired & dated. Signs with instructions not to open the balcony door were unwelcome. Signage to keep the bathroom door closed when showering so as to NOT to set off the fire alarm were non-sensical.

This place is kind of a dive. A few positives, great view of the ocean, beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, lots of negatives. No electrical outlets for one, at least around the beds. Wi-Fi is terrible. Won’t even connect, you get the infinite spinning wheel. The air unit doesn’t work well. You can hear everything from adjacent rooms and hallway. People loud and pounding the walls at 10pm at night. People screaming, yelling and pounding from 10pm to midnight. Called the emergency contact number several times, however no answer. I felt very unsafe and was about to call the police. Took hotel management over 2 hours to finally respond and call police to all the yelling. Breakfast is gross. Hotel manager barely speaks English. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I now owe an apology to Hides Hotel.

Certainly not a four star hotel! Good location. Good parking. Looks OK at the front from outside and foyer. First night late check in worked well, but the room we were allocated was disgusting and not in the location we had booked. Dirty and very run down and at rear of hotel. Moved rooms next day. Better condition but still dirty carpet, chipped bath, no power supply near bed. Restaurant is a myth. Only breakfast on the morning, closed during the day and cocktail bar at night. Many noisy people hanging about at rear entrance of hotel and sitting on the verge in the street.

We really loved staying at Acacia. Friendly staff, very nice pool area, beautiful view of the beach and walking distance to night life and dining options. All of our excursions picked us up and dropped us off. We booked two extra nights we loved the hotel and area so much!

Had to ask for every little thing. It's hard to put into words but poor customer service overall. Let's just say I was happy I read my reservation details and the hotel room info book they left out or my stay would have been terrible. My view saved the whole stay!! It was incredible. Location not too bad either ;-)

Comfortable, safe & quiet accommodation. I was located on the 4th floor with a mountain view. Clean, comfortable room. Pool is great. Walkable along a beautiful Esplanade, 10-15mins to many dining options.

Property is clean and maintained. Fire system works well(Tested twice). For a 3 star hotel on the esplanade is very good value for money. And as I flew out the I could see the Acacia court hotel is the closest to the airport, due to the little short cut at the end of the esplanade.

Great views & location on the esplanade. That was about it unfortunately. Ants in the room, fire alarm wake up at 4.30am to evacuate and then again once we got back to sleep. No explanation or apology. People squatting/drug dealing in the burnt out house next door, didn’t feel safe walking at night near the property. Place is in a state of disrepair a lot of things are very old and broken, lighting, air con, weird smells around every corner. If you need a cheap place to stay and rest your head if you are out travelling cairns it would be fine but I wouldn’t return/recommend.

The room was clean, and the beds were nicely done. I didn't like that a liquor shop is located inside the Hotel lobby, strangers from the street just walk in and buy alcohol and sit in front of the hotel and drink, so I didn't feel safe coming back to the hotel even around 7pm or 8pm.there is no separate area in the lobby for hotel guests.

Don't think that because the Acacia Court is on the Esplanade in Cairns it will be in a relatively upmarket tourist area - wrong. It's at the far end of the Esplanade, a really dog-eared property, with unsavoury characters wandering around the car park and lobby area, even during daylight hours. You would think that as each room has a balcony that you would be able to enjoy sitting out on it - but no, they have locked every balcony door in every room (to do with the air con) so that is ruled out. On returning later in the evening after dinner with friends I was propositioned in the car park (I'm 61!!), so although I'm used to unsavoury approaches from a lifetime of travel, it's worth being vigilant if you are travelling/staying there on your own.

Hotel is undergoing refurbishment. Builders everywhere from 7:30am to 3:30pm drilling and banging. Available rooms are old style but clean and tidy. Staff were great and breakfast was good with many options. It’s a cheap hotel in a good location - so if you just want somewhere to sleep this is an ok place.

Very easy to get to, on the Esplanade, comfortable rooms. However, the fried menu of everything not meeting dietary diversity, but the breakfast buffet very fulfilling.

Comfortable beds, clean sheets. Nice views. Great location near Cairns Esplanade and walkable down toward the shops, marinas and cafes. Breakfast buffet is standard fare but hot and nicely cooked. Unfortunately, reception service was very slow (15 minute wait to check in) and there was a lot of mould in the bathroom, plus maintenance of the room needs attention. Additionally, the in-hotel restaurant is very limited in its dinner menu and the prices for what you receive are expensive.

We managed to get a last minute booking and I also messed up my dates, they were very accommodating. We started in a dodgy place before moving here last minute and we were stoked with the view, the comfortable bed and the clean amenities. Everything with adequate and our room on level 8 was quiet. Went to use the spa - wasn't working. Might need to ask reception to turn on? Was too cold for pool but would have used if warmer. Restaurant food was average, but other places are only a 15 min walk away.

A little bit dated, but still clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. Good price breakfast and good choices. A little disappointed that the Chinese restaurant was too expensive, it would have cost $150 for two adults and 1 child. I would have loved to have dined there, but not knowing if the food would be good, we certainly weren’t going to pay the ridiculous prices. Good parking and great room with balcony and ocean views. Nice spot all up with the park opposite and lots of bird life.

Construction in hotel (drilling that is incredibly loud going through the walls) from before 7am with no notice. The hotel should be shut during this not trying to accommodate guests. Breakfast unavailable contrary to written confirmation at the time of booking.

Lovely location at quiet end of Esplanade, great facilities and veiw. Staff were friendly and we are made to feel very welcome. Building is dates but under renovations so will be improving. If I could improve one thing, it would be the dining, dinner options did not interest me and buffet breakfast would be great with quality produce and better variety.
