Great bar and friendly staff. Ask for Dave at the bar! Nice rooms with beautiful city skyline views, in a great location within walking distance to various shops and dining in the Chelsea district.

Great stay, great front desk and all around staff. The city view room was pretty amazing along with the gym as it was perfect for a quick lift. Highly recommend.

The check in wait time passed the official time 3pm. It will be good to be able to check in online. The elevators can be busy and shared among the cleaning crews. The panel is hard to use. The buttons may not always work. It will be good by entering number instead of buttons and pre scanning the key card at elevator gate to avoid people blocking key card scan in the elevator. The room ac is too loud and the window is locked so not able to get fresh air from outside at all. The shower products fragrance is too strong and bit artificial side like Bath & Body Works. It will be good to have herbal based like Aesop. Thank you.

The property was gorgeous! Only thing to think about its that the elevators are slow.

Great location, clean, great value for NYC, fantastic restaurant downstairs under glass covering so you can still be outside during rain. Don’t forget to use your $10 food and beverage credit there daily. I would stay again!

Great location in Chelsea and the overall vibe is modern, yet comfortable... very NYC. Nice outdoor dining area. Lots of common areas inside the hotel to relax and so close to everything when we were ready to get out and explore the city.

It's hard to find a hotel in New York with a valet service that actually lets you pull your car up, unload, and not feel rushed or like you're holding up traffic. The valet experience was great!

The hotel was very suitable for my trip. The rooms are small but very sufficient and the design is very nice. I loved the look of everything. The staff was very friendly and considerate. My main complaint was the elevator system as it sometimes took way too long to get a ride up the tower.

Love the Motto vibe. Love the lounge with the sunken level w couches. The showers are updated and nice. Rooms clean. Will certainly be back

The hotel itself seems lovely but our room was only cleaned once our whole stay. Everyday we had to request new towels, bins emptied and even toilet roll. You would think me flagging this once would make them be proactive and ensure the room was definitely cleaned the next day - not the case at all. The staff seem to be very reactive to issues here they could easily prevent. For over £100 per night you would expect the basic room clean. You are also paying around £30 per day resort fee which includes 2 bottles of water per day - you only get these if your room gets serviced! Big scam!!

I recently stayed at the Motto by Hilton in Chelsea, and it was one of the poorest hotel experiences I've had in recent memory. I was traveling with my mother, who is in her 60s. We booked a room with two separate beds - we arrived to find that instead of two queen beds, all that was available was a king bed in an "upgraded" room. The bed in said room was definitely not a king, and the room was very small for two people who weren't a couple. Fine though OK, it's my mom so we were going to make it work. Except then we had to call maintenance to our room a total of four times because: 1. The bathroom door came off the track 2. There was no hot water in the shower or the sink 3. The phone wasn't working and the bathroom door came off the track again and 4. You guessed it, the bathroom door was off the track again. This was in a period of about 24 hours, to be clear. Fortunately, they were able to fix the hot water in the shower, but our sink still did not have any hot water throughout our entire stay. When we arrived the bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned and they also had to send housekeeping up to clean the bathroom. Clearly, this room wasn't guest-ready, and they just gave it to us because the hotel was oversold. Everything about this hotel was ridiculous, from $5 coffee in the morning to the complete lack of amenities and cleanliness. I am thoroughly unimpressed, both by how poorly our stay went and our accommodations were, and how the front desk handled our issues.

My room had ants in the bed !!! When I informed it , the staff told me they knew it was true. They then took the ants away. But this was NO good experience.

Not clean

This hotel is unreal. Me and my partner spent so long on review sites trying to find somewhere but everywhere seemed to have something bad about it. This hotel is what made our trip feel special, opening up your room door for the first time to a 37th fl view of the financial district at night is unforgettable. (We opted for a city view room). Yes, it’s slightly more on the pricey side, but if you want peace of mind, this is what you want. Staff were incredibly helpful, rooms were impeccably clean and actually of decent size (we were told everywhere in NY is tiny..), and the additional lounge areas are very nice. Great location with easy access to bus and subway. Couldn’t ask for more.

Whilst location of the hotel was good, finding left over food (a whole slice of bread from the previous guests rooms service which quite clearly had been there a while and looked to have been left there on purpose by the previous guests) in between the pillows of what was supposed to be a freshly made bed was a very unwelcome surprise. When this was raised with the hotel, it was met with the appropriate level of surprise, however, the suggested 50 USD off as compensation is laughable. We shared photos of the issue with the property, and suggested a reasonable solution, but were met with disregard and a complete lack of service mindedness. This was our second stay at this property and with the options around in the vicinity in the same price bracket, we will be taking our business elsewhere going forward. All in all a bad experience and certainly nowhere near in line with the brand values and promises of a Hilton property.

Loved the hotel room with a view stunning! Room was one of the cleanest Ived had in NYC and Ive stayed in a lot of hotels here over the years. Perfect location for a visitor mid point to everything. 5 stars!

Towels were old, small and coarse. Shower leaked and smelled like very bad mildew. People were nice, but perfunctory. Service to bring towels was very, very slow. Housekeeping were all very courteous.

Room was impeccably clean, maids came in regular to provide towels and essentials. Decent size room for 4 people, really quiet , beds super comfy. Would stay again.

The King + Bunk was a great room solution three friends traveling to NYC. The room had surprising floor space and storage (for an NYC hotel) and was a great location for a weekend visit

Property was in a great location. Friendly staff. Room was modern and clean, with areas under and around the bed for storage. AC worked great. One of the quietest rooms I have ever stayed in!

The property is decent, the staff are really nice, and the bar/restaurant was great. My only complaint is the walls are paper thin so you hear every tiny sound including the women who stayed up for hours partying the room next to mine.

Clean; small, but excellent view of the city!

I have stayed at this hotel before for a week, great location, walkable. The rooms are small but nice, especially on the higher floors.

Highly recommended choosing the City View rooms on higher floors (25 and above). All buildings in Financial District will be then in your sight. Room is big for 2 adults. It is clean but a bit humid in the summer(~86 degree F outside). You may have a quiet sleep if you are not sensitive to the ON/OFF of AC and wind blowing.

Convenient and close to some restaurants. Rooms are very tight and small. Bathroom sliding barn door does not lock and has a wide gap

An overall positive experience with some issues that didn't make us enjoy the hotel as much as we could have. PROS -A very nice building in an excellent area to explore Manhattan. -Amazing view from higher floors -Comfortable room and bed CONS -Poor soundproofing -Loads of trash right in front of the hotel every evening -Not everyone in the staff was courteous -Veey poor experience with the lifts. Up to 15 minutes from your room to the reception. Quite frankly, this is unacceptable for a "luxury hotel".

The phone never worked in the room and the front desk would not answer when I would call from my phone so I would have to go

Staff could not have been nicer, but check-in was slow and behind schedule. Perhaps they were short on housekeeping staff. They need to tighten up that check-in process so people aren't waiting in the lobby for 30 minutes after scheduled check-in times. Rooms are small but clean. Sinks are not in the bathrooms and are outside in main room. Clean but tight. Not a room to hang out in. Perfect if you just need a bed to sleep in.

The service at this location is top notch and the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The hotel is central to everything we wanted to do and see while in Manhattan. The friendly and hospitable staff like Alejandro made us feel right at home in the Big Apple. Would definitely stay here again.

Really great experience staying here during conference. Excellent location. Staff was so helpful and attentive. Let me check in so I could quickly get ready for conference. Quick to respond on text. Room was so great w sink out and multiple hooks. Would definitely stay again.

Check-in was unpleasant. The system was dowb, the staff were frustrated and clearly showed it, even to guests. Reception area was crowded. Generally people who work there don’t seem happy to be there. Check-out, there was no one. I had to wait several minutes for staff to appear, again very indifferent. Room was small but decent for one. Housekeeping forgot to replace a towel but I didn’t need that as there was a spare. Overall, not a great experience.

The hotel itself is great but the staff is rude and unhelpful, specifically the front desk. They are not polite and are abrasive to guests and don’t answer the phone . The room was very small but nice , with a killer view. For the price this was one of the best places I’ve stayed in NYC, the only reason it’s not getting a better rating was my experience with some of the staff. The food at the hotel restaurant is good, albeit pricey. Overall a good place to stay

Was told upon arrival that the room that I had booked was not available due to an unforeseen circumstance. I was offered a room that only had a king bed for my husband, myself and my son. We definitely did not fit and I could not sleep all night. Definitely the worst experience I’ve had in a long time. Would like to have known what the unforeseen circumstance was, or to at least have gotten some credit towards some thing. I specifically booked this room as it would have a bunkbed for my son. He was very disappointed as were we. We were also told it was because we booked through Expedia, and not through the hotel themselves. If this is true, it makes me wary to book through Expedia again.

Booked a two double bed room, and was given a tiny half room with bunk beds. Not acceptable and definitely not what I paid for. (Over $600). I was given a waived resort fee as compensation. That was not good enough, sorry. Help!

Overall, a wonderful stay. We stayed on the 35th floor with a view of Lower Manhattan and the Hudson River. The hotel is very well situated, relatively close to residential areas with street parking. We would definitely stay here on our next visit to New York

Great location, between Chelsea and Flatiron. Hip lobby area with restaurant and bar. Room was on the smaller side, but nicely appointed and comfortable. Would stay there again.

Love this part of the city. So close to our favorite dining options without the chaos of times square. Also very close to the subway, so anywhere in the city isn't far. We had a view of the Freedom Tower and it was spectacular! Rooms aren't huge, but are well-designed.

Great location near chelsea, very walkable to restaurants and subways. Seemed to be safe area. Staff was friendly. Upgraded view from floor 37 was amazing.

Great location for vacationing in NYC. Convenient subway stops within walking distance and felt safe the entire time. Loved, loved, loved having bunk beds. More hotels should do this. It is perfect for families- who wants to sleep with their teen/parent/sibling? It makes so much sense. 100% would stay here again.

We came to visit our daughter who lives in Chelsea. It is a great location if you plan to do things in the surrounding area. Lots of good food options and the restaurant, Lulus, is great as well. This may be a NY thing but there is a $30 fee per day $10 of which you can get back through drinks, food, etc. The hotel, bar, and restaurant staff were great-friendly and accommodating. I rated the overall experience a 4 because the bathroom door didn’t close all the way which could be a problem for those who would like more privacy. We stayed in an accessibility room and there were no instructions for how to transfer the water in the shower from the had held to shower head. There isn’t a coffee maker in the room and you have to request ice. However, anything we requested was delivered in a timely manner. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Overall, we would stay there again now knowing what to expect.

I was really pleasantly surprised by this little gem. I was SUPER impressed by the view from my room. Bar was active in the evening, with live music at one point. I enjoyed my food, cocktail and service very much.

Always the best! Staff amazing—clean—only comment is dinner menu seems to be expensive for the quality. Happy for the convenience of eating at hotel however.

Was there 10 nights during the holidays. It was a great stay. The only drawback is that the elevators are quite busy and may require a wait. Of course this was during a very busy time of the year. I will be back. Oh and the food is good in the restaurant.
