I did not use the laundry service or air conditioning. Room itself was very clean. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. I especially liked the lounge that was available 24/7 for free coffee and tea.

One of the reasons I booked this hotel is because it is listed as having air conditioning. It does have ac, but it didn’t cool the room very much. The window only opened a tiny bit, so it was hot. The other reason I boooked this hotel is for the laundry facilities. I tried to wash clothes MULTIPLE times, but with one washer and one dryer in a big hotel, it was next to impossible. I wound up staying up VERY late one night to do laundry, as it was constantly occupied any other time I tried to do a load. This was a big annoyances for me since we had just gotten off a long cruise and all of our clothes were dirty. I actually wound up washing clothes in the sink the first night so we had something to wear. The location of the hotel is great and staff was super friendly and helpful. It’s a tired hotel in need of a refresh, but that’s not a dealbreaker for me.

This hotel is in a fantastic location for sightseeing and theatre. The National Gallery and Portrait Gallery are a 5 minute walk away. Stayed with a friend for theatre and we walked to almost every theatre. are many places to eat nearby by. Really enjoyed the Club Room with comfortable chairs, stations for computers and coffee and tea. Our twin room on the 8th floor was a good size for London. We didnt’t go for the breakfast at 38 pounds per person, choosing instead to take a short walk to Pret for breakfast. The filtered water stations and recyclable bottles on every floor were a great feature. I noticed that they had a launderette which could be convenient. There was a microwave and small fridge in the room but no utensils or plates. Staff were friendly and polite. Would happily stay here again.

We like this location with plenty of dining options close by. We could walk to the West End theaters. A bonus...if you need to do laundry, they have a self-serve station that does not require additional payment, which was very convenient. Coffee is available near the lobby as well.

Location is excellent! Room was clean and adequate. But you’re not there to stay in your room. The bar was big and the staff was very nice. They have a nice big living room type room with business area and sitting areas for people to enjoy self service coffee or tea and work or wait for people anytime of the day. Would definitely stay there again.

A small rather shabby room overlooking a light well… The room is serviced only every 2 days, so we had to track down someone to obtain more toilet tissue. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable, but overall didn't seem to be in keeping with the price charged.

Good hotel in a very good location. Staff helpful. Hotel is old though and the rooms are basic. Worst thing - house keeping cleaning is half assed, done alternate days (climate is an inane excuse— we clean our place every day!), and sometimes the staff “forget” to change the sheets. Nice place but won’t stay again.

The Grand has a terrific central location, close to many of the signature tourist destinations and theaters. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only criticism I have is that my wife and I stayed for one week and The Grand charges extra if you want to have towel service and your room cleaned every day. Otherwise, they have different charges for different levels of service. Not very cool if you are spending a lot of money and are staying a week.

Staffs are friendly and helpful, location is convenient, walkable to Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and to London eye. Close to all the transportation. The thing that I dislike was the room is small and it has a muddy smell inside the room and inside the restroom. Stains on the bed sheets and towels.

The room was not as pictured on the booking site. Room was VERY dated and dirty. Dust on all surfaces grout in shower was filthy and toilet did not flush properly. Carpet floor through out was dirty. We had stayed here for 2 nights as an in between for travel otherwise if this was any longer we would have gone to another hotel. Check in process is all self serve, the receptionist was very kind and helpful with helping us get booked in. Just a shame about the room

Perfect location in an historic building near Trafalgar Square, The National Gallery, and Charring Cross Station. On a tree-lined and surprisingly quiet street. Short walk to Embankment, Big Ben, Parliament, and Westminster Abbey. Rooms were a bit tight but typical for big cities. Large desk area and big screen TV. King bed was large and comfortable, not too hard, not too soft. Quiet hallways. Posh Club Room with chilled water refill and self serve espresso/coffee machines. Staff are professional and friendly. Would definitely stay here again next visit to London.

The location was perfect for sightseeing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had AC which was perfect for the hot summer weather. There are water bottle refill stations on every floor which was a good touch. The only odd thing is that the room had no fridge or safe; otherwise it had everything we needed.

We have stayed in this hotel every time we visit London and have always had a good experience. However on this occasion we were given a room below street level which had no window. Due to the room location we were also disturbed by the constant rumble of tube trains every few minutes. Staff were also not very welcoming on this occasion. We do feel that it has gradually deteriorated since we first stayed there and will stay elsewhere in future. Having said that, it is in a great location for a lot of tourist attractions and does offer some good facilities such as club lounge and gym.

We stayed here last September and loved it. Coming back to London for another visit, it was a no brainer to stay there again. our room this time was awful! The small window opened up into an airshaft with the sounds of what seemed to be a working kitchen. We were told that this was the only room available. At least we knew that the location was good for us. The night before we were to checkout, we were told that all the streets were going to be closed in the morning and we would have to walk 3-4 blocks with our luggage to get a cab. Why we were never told this until the last minute is still a puzzle. In the morning, after checking out 3 hours early, we go outside only to find out that only our street was closed and we got a cab on the corner. Between the room and the nastiness of the staff, a third visit will never happen. Amazing on how everything changed over a 7 month period.

The staff was amazing from check-in through departure, consistently very helpful, upbeat, and professional. The common areas are very lovely, with the lounge being an especially beautiful and inviting amenity. The location couldn't be better, just a few steps from Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery and the Charring Cross Tube Station and a few blocks from the Thames, Big Ben, Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Saint James Park, Covent Gardens, and the Theatre District. There are wonderful restaurants every few steps. Stay here. You will be glad that you did.

The stay was disappointing. I had planned a lovely trip to central London with my partner, but from the very beginning everything felt wrong. Check-in lacked any personal touch — it was generic and completely automated. The room itself was of a very low standard, especially considering the price for one night. The bed was unstable, and after reporting it we ended up changing rooms three times. This wasted a lot of time and caused unnecessary stress, which ultimately affected the mood for both of us during what was meant to be an enjoyable stay. Even the final room had an unstable bed, leaving me anxious that it might break. Overall, it was a very poor experience — I’ve had better standards at a Travelodge.

Great location, but it’s not the only hotel there. Property needs a serious makeover, it feels outdated. Nobody to help you with the luggage when you get out of your cab. No doorman. No ramp, you have to carry your luggage up the front steps. There is a lift in front for handicap access, but it’s locked and no one visible to assist. What are you supposed to do? Leave your luggage unattended in the street and go inside to the lobby to ask for help???

Reception staff very professional & attentive but had mixed experiences at the Bar. On the last night a bar person an Indian Girl, I think her name was Vashine very abruptly told us we couldn’t sit at the bar or in the bar area as there was a private booking - this was 10pm. Was shocked & taken aback as we had sat there the previous 2 nights. I said we were staying at the hotel to which she rudely responded that the bar was nothing to do with the hotel. A barman came over to us & apologised for her rudeness. We sat near the exit door for a few moments. Disgusted ..paid £1,100 pound for a 3 night stay & wont be returning.

We had a great stay! The whole front desk staff was very helpful with any questions we had about transportation and they were all very friendly. The hotel is in a great spot, close to the underground and some great must see tourist spots. Would stay there again!

Check in was good although I was told online that I would receive a keycard to my Apple wallet and would not need to check in again. So when I got there they couldn’t find my booking and I had no keycard. Rectified quickly but a faff. Room ok but nothing special. Didn’t have the best nights sleep as quite noisy and uncomfortable.

Staff was very friendly and helpful—Lima especially. Hotel was in a fantastic location! Most iconic tourist destinations were within walking distance. Loved the free coffee bar with and lounge area for hotel guests—a beautiful room to plan your day or recharge after being out and about. Just an all-around great stay

Perfect location in an historic building near Trafalgar Square, The National Gallery, and Charring Cross Station. On a tree-lined and surprisingly quiet street. Short walk to Embankment, Big Ben, Parliament, and Westminster Abbey. Rooms were a bit tight but typical for big cities. Large desk area and big screen TV. King bed was large and comfortable, not too hard, not too soft. Quiet hallways. Posh Club Room with chilled water refill and self serve espresso/coffee machines. Staff are professional and friendly. Would definitely stay here again next visit to London.

Nice hotel; vamped up a bit in the pictures but a perfectly reasonable hotel. A bit pricey, but you’re paying for location mostly (literally seconds walk to Trafalgar Square). Rooms uninspiring; bland and basic and we had a fantastic view of an air conditioning unit that masked the London skyline! Overall, you’re going to pay lots for a London hotel; this is about in line price wise. Breakfast V expensive (£28 pp for a full English so recommend going out for brekkie!)

Check in was easy and the staff was friendly. They held our bags for us while the room was being prepared so we could go out and enjoy the town. The room air conditioning did not blow as cool as we would have liked, making the room a little stuffy in summer. Would have preferred to have the room made up every day but that was not offered. We felt the price of breakfast was too spendy, so we just ate at local restaurants close by. It was a very walkable area and close to the underground which made getting around easy.

Front desk service was excellent. Check in smooth, fantastic location right near Trafalgar Square. The customer service was first rate from the time we checked in until when we left and stored our bags for a few hours. Only negative was breakfast, when we were scolded by the bartender for looking at our laptop to try to plan our day. That was not a great look from the hotel. Otherwise everything was great.

The location of this hotel was awesome. Walking distance to so many attractions. The staff were friendly & accommodating. The room was clean but quite dated. The staff @ the restaurant were polite & efficient, however the food wasn't very good (cold and poor selection). There are several restaurants within a short walk that served delicious more affordable breakfast and dinners. Overall however I would recommend this hotel.

It's a beautiful hotel, well maintained, and in an excellent location. Trafalgar Square is close to theaters, shopping, and sites. The staff is very helpful and warm. My only warning is to avoid the breakfast. It's about $40 per person for the full English breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was great and the location was fantastic for getting anywhere we needed to go. We enjoyed the amenities available on site. We did notice some spots near the sink that were uncleaned during our visit and wished that there was a fridge available for us to store leftover food and drinks but other than that, we really enjoyed it!
