Property is dated. Feels like high end 3 star hotel. Carpets in room need to be replaced, air conditioning wouldn’t set to the temp you wanted it so the room was always muggy and warm. Weird smell in room, something between cleaning solution and musty odor. Someone unfortunately pooped in the pool and it was shut down (in front of us) rather than drain it, they reopened it the next morning. Prior to that, they didn’t have towels at the pool because they were short on staff and towels.. Service at the breakfast place was incredibly slow. Overall, this property could use some love…updates needed.

This hotel is truly a gem and is now my go to place in La. Perfect location and such a beautiful area. The hotel was a great retreat for long days and then pool/hot tub was my go to every morning and evening. The staff was amazing and I can’t wait to come back!

It’s sort of tired. Rooms could use an update. The location is great and I think they rely on that a lot. Charge for upgrades and valet parking is very expensive.

The property is small, clean, with beautiful views. Convenient parking right outside the hotel is valet only for $52.00 a night. There is a public parking like for $7.00 a day but it’s about a 3-5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel didn’t have any water for an entire day during our stay but the water was restored the next morning. Overall it was a decent stay.

I will definitely return to this hotel. You will not beet the top notch service from the valet parking to check-in to food service by the pool! Great longe and happy hour. Beautiful (and busy ) pool area and huge hot tub. Plenty of tables and poolside lounge chairs. The bed was comfy, the room was quiet, other than the sound of guests by the pool. However, with the sliding glass doors shut, even that was quiet. The balcony is large with two chairs and a table. They do have rooms overlooking the other side of the Marina on the restaurant side, that side gets full sun. I chose the poolside, marina view. Lots of space to walk along the Marina and plenty of restaurants nearby. It is a very quick drive to Venice Beach or Santa Monica Pier as well. Whether you want to lounge poolside or get out a bit this is the place to treat yourself. Also, June through August is Sunday Funday by the pool. Tacos and DJ music till 6 pm. It was a really fun atmosphere. The rest of the days were very peaceful. I recommend this hotel as a fantastic vacation experience.

Beautiful spot in the marina with gorgeous views. Able to lounge all day by the pool and a great place to have friends meet you in the bar for excellent drinks and bar bites.

We had a wonderful stay! The setting is beautiful and the hotel very nice. The beds and pillows are super comfy. We really enjoyed the pool area and the live music in the bar. Added bonus the sea lions :)

We were coming to California for our annual visit and I have to say this hotel was wonderful. I knew I wanted to stay in MDR and I’m glad we chose this hotel. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and the staff was very attentive. We loved the location and I enjoyed quiet morning walks at the marina. The hotel’s gym was pretty standard but very clean and I used it almost every day we were there. Hotel breakfast and coffee was also a delight. I’d definitely stay here again!

Great property and location. Rooms were great and staff was lovely. Our room was not poolside but at the end of the one hallway and near the garbage bins. This caused a lot of flies on our porch and the garbage pick up was quite early. So that was disappointing. I also thought that the pool deck (especially under the chairs which is eye view when in the pool) could have been cleaned more regularly bc Debris tend to accumulate in these spots. None of these remarks would keep me from Staying here again- just observations that might be helpful to management.

We had dinner at Salt and the food was delicious. The pool area was amazing. Customer service was on point. The view of the Harbor with the SeaLions was too cool but there was just a lot of little things that were missing, broken or worn out. Lots of mold on the chairs/daybeds on the deck, the jacuzzi bubbles weren't working properly, big tears in our room curtains, no premium channels available even though they were listed on the TV and more.

Loved the hotel itself, great location and wonderful pool and hot tub facilities. Would have given 5 stars but our room wasn’t serviced and no one had asked us upon check-in so we were slightly disappointed by that, otherwise everything else was great.

The view is beautiful. I asked for a quiet room and was the first night has a wedding basically take place in my room so I could not enjoy the sunset which I paid more for the view. that was the only sunny day so lost to the wedding. I did not want to be rude and invade someone special day. The hotel is great location the bed was comfortable but the rooms are older and build with low grade material like particle board which the stain is peeling and is warped. it is a tired hotel but the price did reflect that. the one meal I had was good fish tacos and the setting was nice the area is super safe great running lost of places to see.

We booked and prepaid a marina view room and were not given a room with marina view. Labeling that room as one with a marina view is egregious. Was more of a garden view and oh look you can see some boats. The a/c in that room was also trash. It did terrible job cooling the room. I kept waking because the room was not cool enough. TV was unusable. We didn't use it throughout our stay because whoever used it last blasted the speakers out and now there's a static sound no matter what. The sound made our skin crawl so we didn't turn it on again after that. The bathroom is way too small. The door opens into the bathroom and is mere inches from the toilet. It also blocks your way into the shower. I would like to end on a positive. The bed was comfortable. They also refunded us the valet charge because valet never touched our car. However, as it turns out, it's $52 a night whether you self park or use valet. We know this now but it's a bit confusing when their website says **valet** parking is $52. Other than that like I said, comfortable bed. The location is great and walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops. Wouldn't stay again but at least the bed was comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Great service, friendly staff, convenient location. The pool and outdoor space are lovely. Rooms are small, but clean and comfortable if you don’t need much space. I was a little disappointed to find that a “city view” meant my room overlooked the parking lot. We were on the first floor and our room literally looked out at the line for the valet parking. Definitely recommend getting a room on the marina side of the hotel.

My room did have the terrace with a view of the marina as advertised, but you had to look beyond the parking lot. Plus, since my room was the first off the lobby, the valet station was right outside the room, so there was a lot of activity and noise at times. And there was a little smell in the room, so I did have the terrace door open to air it out.

I was there for a Lakers game and it was my first time in LA . I chose the Hotel at the last minute and I’m glad I did . Chloe made the check in easy and smooth she was Great always asking me if everything was going well with my stay . Valet staff was great always greeting and opening the door when I came back even in my Uber . Paulo at restaurant was very welcoming as well as Ruben . Overall all restaurant staff was friendly and nice . I had a great breakfast there . The marina view is amazing . I would recommend and stay here again . Thank you

It was me and my bf first time here and the first guy that checked us in was rude and monotone. Are tv wasn’t working so I ask him politely if anyone is able to fix it and he just acted like I was bothering him and said he’ll call the engineer but never did. Between me and my bf we had to go to the front desk 4 times before they finally gave us another room. Customer service wasn’t that great in the beginning but overall the rooms were beautiful and the stay was good

I’m disappointed with the customer service I received during my stay. I called three times about items I forgot in my room, including my AirPods. Each time, I was told that they would check and get back to me. Finally, on the third call, the receptionist mentioned that an email would be sent and that they would notify me once they found my items. However, I have yet to hear anything back, and the issue remains unresolved.

Upon arrival valet was rude then once I got to the front desk, I had to stand and wait before I was greeted because no one was there. Took 10 minutes for someone to show up. The hotel has a nice view by the pool but the property itself is very outdated and overpriced for what you get. No vibe at the pool either, pool bar was closed on a weekend. Had a issue and talked to the hotel security and he was unprofessional, intimidating, and just plane rude. Laughed at my concerns. Every employee had a attitude like they didn’t want to be bothered. Overall the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel.

It was an average hotel. The staff weren’t rude, but not quite welcoming either (except the valets, which were very friendly). Rooms were small, and their management decided to do room cleaning every other day, without letting us know at the check-in.

Loved walking around the marina. Very safe very nice warm heated pool and hot tub. 10 minute walk to Trader Joe’s and Ralph’s grocery store. Many food options walkable as well.

Ended up with a bottom floor.room with.ciews of the parking lot. So nothing special. They were having a pool party with people who were not hotel guests from 1-6pm so we couldnt even get into the pool. When we finally got to go to the pool at 6 it reeked of pee and was filthy. They make you vallet your car for 45$ and give you a qr code to pick your car up when you are ready to leave the property. The qr. Ode didnt work. That is because they were too busy to enter my car into the system. Too busy being just sitting around talking. This happened every time i went to go get my car. They just never bothered to put the car into the system. Just disappointed all aeound with this hotel

Marina del Rey hotel has gorgeous balconies and views, and everything is just as promised in the listing. We enjoyed the pool area and the restaurant, but most appreciated being to have a generously sized private balcony with gorgeous views for hanging out. Would definitely stay here again. A quiet little oasis in the heart of everything!

We loved our stay here. The pool and hot tub were so clean and nice with a beautiful view of the marina and we got good drinks from the bar to bring to the pool with us. The restaurant was top notch and Pablo was an excellent server! Very relaxing, romantic and delicious dinner!

I stay at MDT hotel often, and have really enjoyed this hotel over the last year or so of coming here. Salt is a bonus although I feel they need some type of help w the in room dining option. Often nobody answers the phone and I’ve had quite a few times where the soup was warm not hot, coffee wasn’t brought up within even 20 mins, but overall I have had some great meals from in room dining, just needs some attention I believe. Nancy is my favorite at the hotel, she’s always doing what she can to help the guest. Never disappoints! Also I had a pleasure to meet and be served coffee / breakfast this morning by Brenda. She is a hard worker! Was quick and on top of what she offered. I will continue leaving reviews for updates! Keep it up guys! Will see you soon!

We got there and went to have dinner at Salt and sat for over 45 minutes with no service after being seated. We went to the Bar area and still had trouble getting service so we left and got Door Dash to our room. There was a party below our room next to Salt 40th by the sea. They were loud until 12pm and we could not get to sleep. the next day we went to use the pool and hottub and the area was very messy and the hottub did not work. We had a nice dinner outside but there were very little people at the pool and most of the chairs and cabanas were covered in towels. I was staying there to see if this would be a good location for an event and was looking forward to it but it was just a tough stay. I am sure it was just bad luck and timing but it was difficult on us.

Really good hotel and location. Services (restaurant SALT on site) should be massively improved, waiting time are massive and since they are open to people outside of the hotel, waiting times are ridiculous for breakfast (over 1h). Hotel is really good and rooms have perfect view over the marina. Would be great if they offered parking more affordable… and didn’t force valet
