We had a lovely one night stay. Very welcoming staff and we were very comfortable. A fan in the bedroom kept us cool during the recent hot spell. We enjoyed supper and Sunday lunch seated with the dog in a very pleasant bar. Really pleased to have found this hotel and will stay with them and other members of the Coaching House Group again. I absolutely loved the desk at reception; hence the photo.

Stayed for 3 nights down from Scotland for a family celebration. A beautiful hotel with ample parking. Staff super friendly and helpful. Only had breakfast at the hotel but this was excellent. Hotel is spotlessly clean and the decor is absolutely stunning. Only tiny grumble i could have is that it was stifling hot during our stay, as it is an old building no AC, hotel provided us with desk fans in our rooms but the Didn't make much difference. Good shower and free toiletries. Very comfortable beds. Please note there are a lot of stairs/steps/quirky corridors in this hotel and no lifts so not great if you have mobility issues. Would definitely stay again though

Tuesday and Wednesday mornings between 6.00 and 6.15 thwy sort out the rubish bins, if your in room 104 they trundle through the the car park and make quite a noise. Ok if you intend getting up early.

Lovely hotel inside and out, nice bed, great size room fab bathroom and shower. Lovely outside courtyard. Downsides were I thought the staff were a little off. Breakfast was expensive and not that great and the hotel doesn’t really get going until 9am so if your an early riser and like a coffee stay in bed. All in all we had a good stay.

We had a very nice room with a lovely refurbished bathroom - all nice and clean. The staff are friendly and polite and all seem to work well together, which is nice to see. The bar area and breakfast area are very comfortable and look really good. Nice breakfast too! The bad points were that the car park was not big enough and we only just squeezed in on our final night. Don't know where we could have parked if we could not have got in as the streets seemed full too. Also as our room faced the main road we were woken early with bins being emptied on first night, then load lorry on second night and third night we were woken by drunken customers heading home I assume. The last critical point to make was that on our last day the breakfast order took 30mins to arrive at our table, which delayed our trip home. All in all though a nice hotel with a lot of good points!

A decent hotel with a warm feel to it. Staff were pleasant and helpful. One older lady was an aquired taste, blunt and 'it really is too much trouble' attitude. I thought she was being deadpan but found she was genuinely miserable. I dont want the rest of the hotel to be judged by her but they would do well to get rid. Food was excellent, prices reasonable and they catered nicely for the sport with an outside TV in the courtyard. Our room was nicely presented but was a bit dusty on some surfaces. I would stay there again should I ever need to go back to Amesbury

Our daughter recommended this place and we are glad she did. It is amazing, the room was spotlesly clean and tidy with a generous selction of biscuits, tea, coffee and even bottles water. These were replaced daily. The bathroom was lovely with a nice deep bath with a shower over and once again a good selection of bath and shower gels. The staff here are exceptional, very ploite, cheerful and ever so helpful. We only had the breakfasts here as we were visiting our Daughter, but these too were very good indeed. The cooked breakfast was great and had plenty of flavour and there was a good selection of pastries, fruits, yoghurt and cerials. This is an old coaching inn with plenty of history, so some of the floors are a little uneven and you may find the odd few steps up and down in a corridor, but for us this just added to the charm of the place. Our room overlooked the front of the building onto the small high street, we left out window open overnight and it was generaly ok, traffic seemed to die down around 11pm and start up again around 6.30 to 7am which did not bother us. We will definitely stay here again. Many thanks guys.

We loved this hotel. Great location for visiting Stonehenge and it was spotlessly clean and well equipped. I particularly liked that there was an iron in the room and i didnt have to ask for one.

Staff where very accommodating as our first room was to much for me to get to having asthma, changed with no questions to a beautiful room, as was the first one, had a great 2 day stay staff very polite and place was top notch, breakfast was good, only thing i would complain about was the room needed a bit of a spring clean dust was bad in places, but overall would definitely stay again

On arrival was allocated a double room. However the room was rather small for a double but more to the fact as I was there for 4 nights . The room was to small. No wardrobe to hang cloths only a spike on the wall with hangers yet only hand 4 items and this was very low down. Plus no draws which meant live out of suite case. This had to be placed under the hanging cloths and this meant cloths no room to hang down as resting on suitcase. I think room ideal for 1 day maybe 2

We loved this hotel! It had apparently had a huge refurb about 2 years ago. It was decorated beautifully with quality, well placed items of furniture. The staff were super friendly and efficient. We ate in the restaurant and again the staff were great. The food was delicious. Breakfast was just as good. Parking was easy. I would whole heartedly recommend this place.

Lovely hotel, good parking, good food. Classic room 202 really small with equally small en-suite. The designers have done their best with a very small room and although I recognised the property as being a centuries old, I had not bargained for such a small room. Next time I would book a superior room.

Love this hotel, stay weekly on business. Stayed this week in Room 144, best one yet, full of character, bay window, exposed timbers wall and ceiling, modern bathroom. Food was excellent, as usual. Had the chicken supreme which was delicious. Keep up the great work! Many thanks

Overall excellent two night stay. Check in was quick and easy with a pleasant welcome. Room was spacious with huge 7ft bed and great facilities including a nespresso coffee machine. Even though the room overlooked the main road it wasn't an issue at all with hardly any traffic through the night. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and had breakfast both mornings and food, drink and service were all excellent, plus the restaurant itself is a lovely environmemt. Overall loved our stay and would return.

Stay at this hotel weekly for business. It's really nice, but unfortunately this time there wasn't a stable internet signal in my room (further down the hotel), room 207, which was annoying. Also had the usual wakeup call at 6:30am by the noisy bin wagon :(

Excellent stop over. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only complaint which was no reflection on the actual staff but there seemed a lack of them. They were run ragged trying to deal with an almost full restaurant but otherwise couldn’t fault it. Within walking distance of Stonehenge and the opportunity to view it without having to pay a hefty admission charge. All in all an excellent choice.

It said to have been a 16th century inn, but its facilities are considerably well updated. Our room including its bathroom are on par with, or perhaps exceed, current standards. Its restaurant and bar are great. Also, its location is convenient for traveling to/from Stonehenge and Salisbury. The place is highly recommendable.

A wonderful hotel room and hotel in a quaint village. Easy access into Salisbury and close to Stonehenge perfect for the purpose of our visit. Lovely breakfast included.

Lovely stay, very charming accommodation. Quite close to Stonehenge if you want to beat the crowds at the very popular tourist attraction. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were delicious. Staff was very friendly.

Lovely accommodation and room. Surprised the bar closed at 1000am especially with the football being on. Lovely garden area and communal areas. Breakfast was however appalling. My husband and I suffered what can only be described as a touch of food poisoning for a couple of days. The cooked food was inedible. My friend left her’s and after a couple of mouthfuls so did I. My husband ate most of the food on his plate except some burnt bacon and the eggshells in jus scrambled eggs. If we stayed again we would not eat breakfast. It’s the worst breakfast we have ever had.

Love this hotel, stay weekly on business. Stayed this week in Room 144, best one yet, full of character, bay window, exposed timbers wall and ceiling, modern bathroom. Food was excellent, as usual. Had the chicken supreme which was delicious. Keep up the great work! Many thanks

Overall excellent two night stay. Check in was quick and easy with a pleasant welcome. Room was spacious with huge 7ft bed and great facilities including a nespresso coffee machine. Even though the room overlooked the main road it wasn't an issue at all with hardly any traffic through the night. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and had breakfast both mornings and food, drink and service were all excellent, plus the restaurant itself is a lovely environmemt. Overall loved our stay and would return.

Lovely hotel inside and out, nice bed, great size room fab bathroom and shower. Lovely outside courtyard. Downsides were I thought the staff were a little off. Breakfast was expensive and not that great and the hotel doesn’t really get going until 9am so if your an early riser and like a coffee stay in bed. All in all we had a good stay.

We had a very nice room with a lovely refurbished bathroom - all nice and clean. The staff are friendly and polite and all seem to work well together, which is nice to see. The bar area and breakfast area are very comfortable and look really good. Nice breakfast too! The bad points were that the car park was not big enough and we only just squeezed in on our final night. Don't know where we could have parked if we could not have got in as the streets seemed full too. Also as our room faced the main road we were woken early with bins being emptied on first night, then load lorry on second night and third night we were woken by drunken customers heading home I assume. The last critical point to make was that on our last day the breakfast order took 30mins to arrive at our table, which delayed our trip home. All in all though a nice hotel with a lot of good points!
