Place was under repair, lift was broke, paid for breakfast from a 3rd party vender that did not go through. Website said parking was including, it was 12/day. Food was good though, 10 years ago i bet this was a nice place. You can do better for the price.

The Victoria hotel is a perfect location for exploring Galway. Just a block away from the town square and numerous shops and restuarants. The room was very clean although a bit on the small side with just the basics. - ie no mini fridge, microwave. No parking on site but not too inconvient to park at the nearby lots for 10-15 euro daily. Make sure to get your parking validated

This is a great hotel because of the ease of access to the shops in Galway. We prepaid for parking at the hotel and just used that payment ticket to come as go as we pleased from the parking garage. The rooms are smaller than American hotel rooms but very comfortable. The staff was helpful and polite. We slept with the windows open because the weather was so nice.

The only downer on this site was the parking was NOT on site!! Also one-way street in makes it a tad difficult to get through. The property ITSELF however is GRAND, as was the food too!

Nice hotel that is an easy walk to the square and Latin quarter. Parking is around the corner in a public parking garage. It’s a short 3 min walk, I didn’t think it was bad (but it wasn’t raining when I had to go to the garage). The hotel gives you a discounted rate ticket to use at the garage.

Nice hotel - the room that we received was probably the worse one on our trip. Very small, looking at the floor map, the smallest available. If you are claustrophobic, this is not for you. For two nights, it was ok. Staff was very friendly and check-in was smooth. If you drive, there is no on site parking and you have to park in one of the parking garages about 2-3 blocks away. Don’t forget to get your rebate parking slip when you leave which you can apply to your parking cost. Location is great and you can walk to everything, including the ferry if you are going over to the Aran Islands.

Arrived to lift not working. Receptionist not over friendly. Hotel did smell old and bad smell from a old over used hoover. On checking into our room it was not cleaned properly. There was a almond nut sitting at the side of the bed

It’s a clean and quiet place that’s walking distance to anywhere you would want to go in Galway City Center. I loved that it’s close to places but tucked away just enough from the businesses of the city. The Victoria would be my only choice for future visits.

Very nice property in a very centrally located area close to everything historic. Staff was very nice. Rooms were very clean and comfortable hotel had many options for better prices on parking and prepaid breakfast. I would not hesitate to stay at this property again.

The only redeeming things about this hotel are the bar downstairs and its location in proximity to the train and Eyre Square. Our booking was misplaced when we arrived, but the staff was really kind and offered us a free drink while they looked for it. The room was nothing like the photos, it was very grungy and small in comparison to what we thought we were getting. The room was covered in dust. The desk and shelf in the closest clearly had not been cleaned for some time. It was odd that the towel rack is inside the shower, leaving any unused towels to get moist. The worst of it was the stained mattresses. There was no fitted sheet on the bed, just a thin sheet to cover the mattress, and when that sheet lifted you could clearly see yellow and brown stains all over the mattress. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra to stay elsewhere.

The location of the hotel is excellent. You can walk to the bus and train station as it is just around the corner. The main areas with restaurants, stores and pubs are also very walkable. The room was just ok. Big enough but it didn’t feel especially clean and the view was a brick wall. Breakfast was not great either.

Not much to look at from outside, but modern stylish design inside. Close to town centre. Friendly, efficient staff. Quiet room. Breakfast perhaps rather limited compared to some, but food good. Our double room felt more like a single with a double bed (one side against a wall, always awkward) but actually well laid out in spite of limited space

Property is around the corner from train station making and just a block from all the shops and restaurants. Very convenient location. Staff wasn’t super friendly, breakfast on site was not good and rooms do not have AC. It was cool outside so having the window open was helpful. They did offer a couple of small fans which helped too but I imagine in warmer months it could get quite hot and stuffy in the rooms. Location was the best feature of the property!

The shower pressure was quite sad. Twas like a spring rain mist. It was reported to the staff but we saw no improvement during our stay. The WiFi was also very poor. Otherwise the location was grand. The room was a fare size for the price and the bed was comfy.

We arrived early & the hotel held our luggage while we explored the city. The hotel is located one block from Eyre Square. The rooms are generous in size & our stay was pleasant & quiet. We enjoyed a drink in the hotel bar & the atmosphere was very fun. We also did a tour with Wild Atlantic Tours & they picked us up directly across the street from the hotel. We had a wonderful time & enjoyed our stay!

Disappointing stay. Early arrival and opportunity to check in was requested but not accommodated. Allowed to check in at 3pm with zero effort to bring time forward. Breakfast charged for three mornings, when only one breakfast (x2) was taken. At breakfast, staff could not provide a cappuccino, until at least 11:30am....when breakfast service was finished. Very unusual. Bar staff said bar closed at 11pm and was unavailable to residents. Barman was closing up before 11pm and made us feel we were an inconvenience to him. Galway is a great city, this is not a great hotel. A two star at most, masquerading as a three star hotel, charging five star prices.

We had a wonderful stay in Galway and highly recommend the Victoria Hotel especially for its exceptional location within the centre . We even hauled our suitcases from the train station as it was only minutes away. Breakfast was fine , bed was comfortable …. Good solid spot in heart of Galway!

We completely enjoyed our stay! The hotel is beautiful and the location was fantastic! We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. We very much enjoyed the dining, we had our dinners there each evening and the food was wonderful. We will definitely stay again when we make our way back to Galway!
