Extremely affordable. Could use a heavier blanket on the bed. Shampoo, conditioner dispensers were empty and not replaced. Staff was friendly. The hotel is very dark outside at night. I would recommend some outdoor lighting. A bench or picnic table would be nice. Would be a bonus if the lighthouse was opened and worked.

Parking lot is well lit at night and its a safe area to begin with.

I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights. The room itself was comfortable with a lovely outdoor view of the waterfront. However, the exterior of the property definitely needs attention. The grass around the hotel was noticeably overgrown, making the grounds look unkempt and difficult to enjoy. It was disappointing not to be able to walk around and take in the scenic area due to the lack of maintenance. Additionally, the outdoor trash container remained full for the entire duration of our stay, which detracted from the overall atmosphere. With some basic landscaping and upkeep, this hotel could offer a much more pleasant experience, especially considering the natural beauty of its location.

Parking lot is well lit and theres no loiters hanging around the area, its a secure building worh a code to get in the building and only guests receive the code, you get that within 24 hours of your reservation date. Its a walk from grocery store, dollar general, fast food, and a beautiful park and its less than a 5 minute drive to "The Greatest Little Town in America" famous Riverrow shops on Front st.safe and quiet area.

Parking area is lit up so you feel safe, the building is locked and you need a code to get in so nobody can just walk in.plenty of shopping areas that are walkable. Hickories Park is walkable and has a dog park, thanks to the donation from Adam Weitsman and his dedication to his sister.

This property has a sign about being minimalist. I’m not sure it even meets that standard. We checked in after dark. There was no outside lighting at all. We could barely find the place because there was no sign visible. The parking lot was dark. We struggled to find a “main entrance” with no lighting as there is no lobby or staff. It is self check in. There was open space next to the keypad of our room with exposed wires where someone could tamper with and enter the room. The balcony door didn’t lock so we used a chair to block it from being opened from the outside. There was no linen or pillow for the “sofa bed” which was an extended couch for 1 person. It did not open up into a sofa bed or futon. The arms of the sofa flip down to make the sofa longer to lie on. If every other hotel in a 60 mile radius hadn’t been booked we would have gone elsewhere. The experience was horrible. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

This was my second stay here. It's the perfect location for me to visit my old friends. I used to live in the area. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The price was right. It was quiet. I didn't like the overflowing garbage can at the front door! That would be my only complaint.

The elevator stopped working and the front maun door isnt closing properly

There is no lobby, no employees, no ice, no control (that was working) over the room thermostat. The entry to the building was very dirty. Questions sent to management were not answered.

It was absolutely gross, every single surface was dirty (carpet, walls, tables, tv, etc), one of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever seen in my life

The stains and webs in the room was absolutely disgusting

SO DISGUSTING!! This place should be closed. There is so much mold in this place that the smell hits you in the face when you go in. We could not stay there.

Price was leagues cheaper than anything else in the area. As a result there's no front desk to check in with, and all communications will be done online. They were incredibly responsive, and I've never really cared whether there was a front desk or not, so no complaints there. I wasn't sent any check-in instructions until I asked them, so that was a bummer, but again, they responded quickly enough that it didn't really matter. Plenty of parking, it's right next to a bunch of fast food and a grocery store, and the room was clean. Water got hot pretty quickly, and the shower pressure was fine. Bed was comfy and clean. I just needed a place to sleep for 2 nights while I was in town for a wedding, and this got the job done. Not much else I can ask for!

This place was trashed upon arrival. trash cans outside were filled to the brim with garbage, bees and flies swarming around it, i didn’t even want to walk past it to get in the building!! the inside trash cans were filled to the brim as well with trash. my room had a lingering dog smell and the floor beneath the AC was soaking wet and they refused to give me another room. The toilet was also clogged and the staff member simply walked out in the middle of fixing it. I was redirected to so many staff members and was told that everyone had been fired and that there is no one that can help us. When I asked for a refund they said it wasn’t possible and could only refund me for one night. They didn’t even take the one night off so I still paid in full for this terrible experience. Pretty sure the rooms had fleas too because me and partner both had bites on our legs after sleeping in the bed. Such terrible customer service. you would think they would do better since there is no front desk. Will never go here again, I’m so disgusted with the staff and the state of this establishment. Definitely needs to be shut down, it looked more like the projects and not a hotel. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone not even for a cheap option!!!

Place looks very unassuming and actually a little sketchy but I was pleasantly surprised. The price is why I choose this location. But the truth is the room was extremely clean, the bed was comfortable, and linens spotless

This hotel is definitely minimalistic, no staff on site except some cleaners, hallways are a little dingy but rooms are clean and comfortable. Worth the money!

Either the hallway or room next door or plumbing in the very vicinity of our room had caused flooding prior to our stay because the room reeked of mildew and the carpet all along the exterior hallway side was wet to walk on, and of course there's no desk attendant to notify if issues, though I instantly signed in and left negative feedback hoping someone would reach out, but no. This room should never have been allowed to be booked....no doubt the hotel would never pass an inspection. On top of that, we had booked a room on the water side but were give a room facing the parking lot. How there are any good reviews for this hotel, I have no idea, and I read them prior to booking. I was honestly disgusted and I do not say that lightly.

Took reaching out twice to get check in info and room codes. The room was not the room that was paid for. It was absolutely filthy, and there was no smoke detector or thermostat, just holes in the wall where they should have been. There was mold, blood and other bodily fluids in several places. The wall was peeling in several places as well. I took pictures and reached out to the property. I mentioned in detail everything that was illegal, unsafe and disgusting and they were less than helpful - they would only offer me an additional night in the same room free as compensation.

The view of the river was stunning and the bed was frankly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. The room was very nice. This is a zero frills stay. You bring your garbage down to the trash, you buy your own garbage bags and extra toilet paper if you need it. Thankfully it's right next door to an Aldi's. Something to keep in mind: the outside door does not need a # at the end of the code to get in but the code to get into your room does end with a #. And when you get the room code correct it makes a buzz to tell you you were right. It's counter intuitive. Don't expect any extra beyond a comfortable place to stay and you'll be very happy here.

Room is clean, nice river view. Easy keyless check in. Will come back next time.

The property was a good price point for an over night stay. Needs some updates, specifically carpet needs replaced. The hotel itself has an intermittent strange smell. Similar to a gym locker room. WiFi is not the best, connection goes off at times. Good points: there is a mini fridge and microwave. Both worked fine. Fast food restaurants are nearby and could be walked to if desired. You are also right beside an ALDI grocery store. Also note that the air conditioner unit is loud but really cools the room. Bathroom is small and sink is located outside of the bathroom. Not a big deal for me but might matter to others. There is no lobby or front desk. The upside of this is easy check in using the codes that will be sent to you.

My room had an unexpected hotplate and kitchenware which was a VERY nice surprise. The bed was extremely comfortable. The view of the river, willow tree, and lighthouse was beautiful.

The location is amazing and so is the price. The room had all tbe amenities you would need (iron, toiletries, microwave, etc) and the bathroom was very clean. However the property is quite run down and the carpet felt disgusting. The locks were also hard to use.

The wifi wasn't working

The front door code worked but not the room door. Found no one on site. Had problems finding a contact number finally able to talk to someone on the phone and got into room. Topper is the TV didn’t work.

We did not receive the text to check in until 5:45, not 3:00 as promised and when we arrived.

The check-in process has some inconsistencies. I have stayed here about five times and will probably stay again in the future because of the value, but the last three times I have had issues with check-in. Twice, the room door code they sent did not work, and I had to call them and get moved to a different room (a minor inconvenience). The third time was more serious. Their system did not send me the code, and no one answered the phone. After a couple of hours of waiting without any response (phone, hotel app, text, or email), I gave up and found a new place to stay. They gave me a refund the next day, but the inconvenience that night was significant. I will stay there again because it’s a good value, but I will make my reservation and try to check in earlier to allow some time to resolve any issues.

The check in process was terrible. I was not aware of the self check in process until we got there as the confirmation looked like all others that I normally get. Luckily someone else who was already there advised me of the process. We did not get a response after texted our license (hmm. potential security issue with this.) so I had to find the phone number on the website to get this corrected. The phone number was hard to find. Once we got in (the voice on the doorlock was in another language and undiscernible) we only had one set of towels. No lobby to get thsi resolved either. We asked about more towels via text, but never got a response. I also question how you passed the fire inspection, due to requiring a button to press in order to exit.) Also no indication of elevator inspection.) Needless tosay we won't staying there again. It is truly minimalist at the expense of the cusotmers.

Self checking in process broken, need to call the owner directly

After waiting all day for check-in instructions as I continued to request it and I was in town, I received a message after the 3 pm check-in time that the previous guest had left my room in a bad condition; therefore, they had to cancel my stay! I replied that was unacceptable and I needed a place to stay for the night. I was already there! They never responded and I was left stranded! This has never happened to me - ever! This place is the worst! DO NOT STAY HERE! COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE!

When i had a problem staff looked at the situation the were very fast to help solve it and was very generous to help and make my stay most enjoyable.

Self check in was a little disconcerting. Initially, hotel contacted us in regards to my stay few days in advance. But on the day of check in, no one contacted us with instructions on our self check in even after the check in time of 3 pm. We had to locate their phone number and contact them. Even then, they could not find our reservation which was prepaid. Eventually, they found it and text us the room, front door and room passcodes. They even sent us info for 2 different room but we only reserved 1. Despite our initial problems, our stay was good even though the room and towels had a slight strange odor.

Property is fine. Communications are needing improvement. I was not made aware of their unusual way of handling check in which caused concern. They were helpful in canceling an extra reservation made in error due to my confusion

I was here from out of state due to a death in the family. I had to extend my stay several times. They were so easy to work with & let me keep the same room the entire time (45 days). Great value and concept. Super comfortable bed!!!! I wish there were more hotels like this!

Checkin/checkout was smooth and trouble free, the room was large, clean and comfortable. The location next to restaurants, Aldis and highway access was perfect. The hotel was quiet all hours of the day. I will not hesitate to reserve a room at Kiteville in the future.

Close to fast food n close to stores

The old adage, “you get what you pay for” is true with Kiteville Owego. The rooms are sufficiently clean and have everything you need for an overnight stay baring any extra amenities. Check in was easy, once I called to get the codes to enter, there was some construction being done so there was a long garden hose down the length of the hall from the mechanics room to another work room. Positives: bed was comfy and clean, air conditioner worked and so did the t.v. Negatives: no coffee in the portable coffee maker, only tea, and although I don’t need a blow dryer, there was none there. Although this review seems negative, I am still booked there two more times this month traveling for business- for me, for the good price is worth it.

My room was very nice, modern and clean, unbeatable price for this quality I think ! Plus great coffe place across the road, easy walk to the stunning lakeshore and town center. I recommend!

Just what I needed for my stay. Quiet and clean. Across the street from a grocery store, gas station and other good store options. 4 minutes away from the downtown area. Room was big and comfortable.
