Hotel with good location within Funchal, clean though needs a bit of modernisation, basic breakfast which is in the hotel next door and needs to have wifi in all rooms. Wifi is only available in the first floor lounge. Having said that, it is reasonably priced, well located and has friendly staff.

Location is amazing. Very close to the center and public transportation. The staff was very friendly, the room was great and I enjoyed the view and the breakfast. The only downsides were the ants I saw, the bad WiFi connection on the upper floors. Also there could’ve been some lights on the balconies or the patio. Nevertheless I had a great time.

Positiv: Ich konnte eine Stunde früher einchecken Das Frühstücksangebot war zwar klein aber dafür lecker Neutral: O Zimmersauberkeit. Nicht zu dreckig, nicht allzu sauber O Das Zimmer ist runtergekommen, aber alles nötige funktioniert Negativ: - Kein WLAN in den Zimmern. WLAN nur im 1. Stock. WLAN im 1. Stock ist ab meinem 3. Aufenthaltstag ausgefallen. Nach Rekalamation kam nicht viel mehr als ein Schulterzucken - Die Zimmer sind hellhörig. Man hört jede Stimme, jede Tür. - Die Fenster sind undicht. Man hört jedes Auto, jeden Besoffenen, ja sogar den Kassenscanner unter dem Hotel kann man hören. Dafür, dass es einer der günstigsten Hotels in ganz Funchal ist, war es gerade so am Limit des aushaltbaren. You get what you pay for. Wobei ich sagen muss, das sind echt lächerliche Hotelpreise auf Madeira. Wenn man für so einen Schrott schon pro Nacht 60-80EUR zahlen muss.

WiFi works only on the first floor with a weak signal and there are no rooms on the first floor. There are no ceiling fans in the room as mentioned in the amenities. The receptionist (from the evening shift) wasn't that kind to discuss and he could not speak English. We were provided with used bedsheets and blankets. The bathing towels weren't in good condition. Breakfast was really good. But still it is not recommended to stay in this hotel.

Réservation pour 2 nuits, je suis restée 2 heures et j'ai réservé ailleurs. Impossible de rester dans une chambre si peu confortable, couvre lit ancien et pas très net au niveau propreté, double rideaux déchiré vers le haut, moquette vieillotte, lampes de chevet jaunies. Pas de ventilateur. Salle de bain vétuste, rideau de douche jauni, sèche cheveux jauni. Terrasse avec mobilier défraîchi. Le comble : les fourmis sur la terrasse et dans la chambre.

This property was very okay. In terms of cleanliness, our room had an abundance of ants and the bedding was stained in various places. There was no AC, which made it hot and sticky in the room. Very small/ dirty shower. Only two outlets to share between three people. On the other hand, the location was very nice, easy check in and they had an okay continental breakfast. One thing I found strange was that when you leave the hotel during the day, you have to leave your keys to the room at the front desk. Then when you go back you say your room number and show zero proof of who you are. Anyone could get into your room, and there isn't someone at the front desk 24/7 watching your room key. Overall, this property was okay, but I would not stay again.

We arrived at night and the room was very hot. One of the bed sheets had a blood stain... I asked the reception for a fan and that helped a little to support the heat. One bed was very bad and I could feel the springs on my back. The water had little pressure and bathroom was very old. Breakfast was basic, but fair for the price. I do not recommend this hotel for a family. Maybe if your budget is low and you are travelling with friends it can work out due to be very central in Funchal. Renovations are urgently needed

The carpets were badly stained, the shower and shower curtain was in bad condition, breakfast was minimal and bland, bed in first room was in poor state. New room requested and carpet in room stained and insects on floor. Furniture on bal cony was old and worn.

It’s an old building but it was clean, staff were very friendly, everything was good, except that there’s no air conditioning and the fan was very noisy, another aspect is the beds are very hard, if they could change that, it would be great. Breakfast was excellent.

Enkelt hotell med mycket bra läge i Funchal. Plus för att det fanns balkong och ingick frukost. Minsks för att duchmunstucket i duschen var katastrof, samt kuddarna i sängen var alldeles för tunna. Är man känslig för hårda sängar ska man inte välja det här hotellet, men för mig gjorde det inget.

A residencial apresenta já sinais do tempo... Destaco a fraca/nula insonorização dos ruídos da rua ( quarto virado para a rua) e o WC. Pequeno almoço simples. Aceitável considerando o custo.

Great place for a short stay. Generous room size. Pleasant and helpful staff. Location is superb, very central and walkable to places and it has supermarket next door which is very handy. Stay included breakfast with reasonable choices. Shower facilities needs maintenance as water pressure was very low, everything else is good and room had massive wardrobes and a lovely balcony.

The hotel overbooked and they didnt have a room for us. However, upgraded us to windsor hotel just accross the road. The hotel was good and have free breakfast. But the noise from the street and pub was awful. People shouting screaming keeping as up all night til late.

Colocaram-nos num quarto que estava fechado há muitos dias porque estavam com excedente de reservas. Durante dois dias, dormimos num quarto que não tinha água quente, que tinha roupas sujas e antigas atiradas num sofá, que não era limpo, que tinha um cheio abominável a mofo e a humidade porque não tinham como mudar-nos para outro quarto. Após várias reclamações e contacto com o departamento de reservas ( que prontamente nos ajudou com o maior zelo e amabilidade) foi-nos feito um upgrade para o outro hotel da cadeia. Nesse hotel todas as condições foram bastante agradáveis e a experiência foi muito boa. No entanto, este alojamento deixou muito a desejar.

Great place for a short stay. Generous room size. Pleasant and helpful staff. Location is superb, very central and walkable to places and it has supermarket next door which is very handy. Stay included breakfast with reasonable choices. Shower facilities needs maintenance as water pressure was very low, everything else is good and room had massive wardrobes and a lovely balcony.

After arrive receptionist told us, that they have overbooking and we need to stay in hotel sirius… We found it on Google maps, Greco has 4*, Sirius has 2* and it was visible. Loud, old, terrible… thanks god it was only 1 night.

La première nuit nous été logés à l'hôtel Central juste à côte. Correct. La résidence par contre est en très mauvais état, la baignoire toute écaillée, le systéme d'eau date d'il y a 50 ans, je ne recommande pas.

Hotel with good location within Funchal, clean though needs a bit of modernisation, basic breakfast which is in the hotel next door and needs to have wifi in all rooms. Wifi is only available in the first floor lounge. Having said that, it is reasonably priced, well located and has friendly staff.

Enkelt hotell med mycket bra läge i Funchal. Plus för att det fanns balkong och ingick frukost. Minsks för att duchmunstucket i duschen var katastrof, samt kuddarna i sängen var alldeles för tunna. Är man känslig för hårda sängar ska man inte välja det här hotellet, men för mig gjorde det inget.

Location is amazing. Very close to the center and public transportation. The staff was very friendly, the room was great and I enjoyed the view and the breakfast. The only downsides were the ants I saw, the bad WiFi connection on the upper floors. Also there could’ve been some lights on the balconies or the patio. Nevertheless I had a great time.

We arrived at night and the room was very hot. One of the bed sheets had a blood stain... I asked the reception for a fan and that helped a little to support the heat. One bed was very bad and I could feel the springs on my back. The water had little pressure and bathroom was very old. Breakfast was basic, but fair for the price. I do not recommend this hotel for a family. Maybe if your budget is low and you are travelling with friends it can work out due to be very central in Funchal. Renovations are urgently needed

It’s an old building but it was clean, staff were very friendly, everything was good, except that there’s no air conditioning and the fan was very noisy, another aspect is the beds are very hard, if they could change that, it would be great. Breakfast was excellent.
