Super 8 by Wyndham Albuquerque Downtown

I booked this motel because it offered a free breakfast and coffee service. There are no coffee pots in the rooms. I found it very odd that they keep all the lobby doors locked until after 7am. No Breakfast, not even coffee is available until 8am. I was turned away from the manager (a Middle Eastern Gentleman) who yelled at me through the glass when I asked for coffee. He told me walk 3 blocks to a convenient store. Seriously? I have no words to show my disappointment with this manager, or actually I heard later he is the owner. I work from the room at 5am, and had to wait until after 8am to get a single cup of coffee. It was awful. Even worse was his dismissal of a simple accomodation of making some coffee before 8am. Most every motel I've ever stayed at has breakfast or at least coffee available by 5am, if not around the clock. Don't stay here. Oh, and the pool was nasty.

Clerk initially said pets not accepted but called manager for approval. Room was located under a staircase with a large and full trashcan by our door. Clothes rod was hanging off the wall. Missing furniture (table & chairs). Power cords insufficient (stretched across to a power strip). We were moved to another room that was extremely improved. Why wasn't this offered first? Office did not open for breakfast. It was supposed to open at 8 am but was still closed when we left at 9:15 am.

The owners are very helpful and will help you find solutions. The room and amenities were as you would expect - super basic - no coffee or shampoo in the rooms and twinkies for breakfast, but the AC worked fine and the sheets and towels were clean. I will advise that carowners secure belongings well because I saw someone walk into the lots from the street late at night and check doors on cars and check for loose change in the dispensing machines, etc. Good coffee a couple blocks towards downtown that opens at 7 am, but no corner stores, gas stations, or deli options close by.

Terrifying *crime ridden ,dirty area,where the poor homeless people with drug problems approached constantly, wanting money,& digging cigarette butts out of outdoor ashtrays. Even the staff said it was too unsafe to walk around by myself and there was nothing open to eat or drink. ***VERY upset that Expedia would book a single elderly woman traveler at this unsafe hotel. *** No amenities, no elevator,so i had to struggle up the outdoor steep broken stairs..The pool was closed and tarped,and locked up. *To their credit the staff was very kind *and changed my dirty sheets with *hair in it *the very 1st night. The pipes squeaked all night and the weirdos outside loitering ,had me up all night. The free breakfast was awful and the coffee was brown *water! Also the cable went out at least 7 times so they had to come to my room often. NO Saftey locks inside! I felt vulnerable! It was so scary that I left a day early,and had to book a room at another hotel that cost me $170..for one nite! I want a refund! The staff was trying to rectify the many issues,but said no refund even tho i left a day early. I can't believe Expedia would send a single elderly woman in terrifying neighborhood.

It's an old, run down facility. The managers are nice enough but they lock the door to the lobby and have to open it for you to come in, and then they lock it again. Is the neighborhood that unsafe? Not much water pressure in the shower, frayed carpets, basically all on the lower end of acceptability. I would not recommend it.

Great location , top of central in downtown. Super soft comfy beds were the highlight. The motel is looking a bit tired but possibly having some update work. A warm welcome and budget friendly, safe & well located.

Hotel is so run down. The outside looks like a trap house.

I did not feel safe here with my children. It was dirty and there were burned holes in the blankets and curtains. There was a gap between the door and the door frame. 0/10 don’t recommend.

The room wasn't clean.

This place was filthy! The room smelled of humans and had hair all over the bed. We left. Did not stay. The neighborhood is a little iffy on that side of the street.

There was a dead cockroach in the room as soon we walked in. There were ants in the room. Shower head very low, my 12 year old daughter was taller than it. The toilet wouldn't flush. We shortened our stay due to the bugs. Could not get s refund even though they couldn't fix the issue.

Super comfy bed!!

The first night we checked and they put us in a room that was dirty and had a completely shattered window that was barely held together with tape. Wind came through as well as noise from the street below all night. They said there wasn't another room available. The following morning they also said no other rooms were available, but later in the morning they found they had 2 other rooms available. We were able to be placed in the quieter room, and this room was very good. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and best of all, it was quiet with no window issues.

The little table in the room was not adequately secured to its base (screws were missing) and wobbled when I tried to set stuff on it. Had a decent night's rest and the A/C blew nice and cold.

I have to say that the mattress we slept on was the most comfortable that I maybe have ever been on! In fact, I'm planning on calling the hotel to find out what make and model it is. Room was fine and clean and adequate for our needs of one night. The office staff manager was very nice and efficient.

Very clean and very nice staff

Easy to find and some really comfy beds! The place is a bit old, some curtains and sheets show their age, but it was perfect for me since I just needed a place to sleep. It is in a corner of a busy street, so you might hear loud street racing. The staff was so kind and quick! They helped me with a smile when I forgot my keycard inside my room.

The entire staff are completely rude and seem to HATE any guest that arrives! I was so offended I just left and took the loss of money!!

This was, by far, the worst motel experience I have ever had. We were delayed by traffic on the 40 and arrived late, on the website it states check in is at ANY TIME (there is no “closing time”) When we arrived there was a sign on the door and the office was locked and dark. I had to bang on the window to wake up the guy at the front desk. He then got angry at me for waking him up and tried to lie about it being past the check in time (website says check in is 24 hrs). He then cussed at me and threatened to cancel my and my children’s reservation. We finally got our key, got to our room and there WERE NO TOWELS IN THE ROOM!! The front office guy would not open the office or answer the phone. I had to call Wyndham’s main customer service line and she then attempted to contact the front desk 4 times before giving up. We had to dry off with tissue paper!! The room smelled musty, was dirty and we saw 2 cockroaches. Wyndham would not transfer our reservation to a near by property so we had no choice but to stay because I had prepaid the room. This motel is only suitable for meth heads apparently. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere but this horrible motel.

I stayed for 1 night. Shortly after i left, the receptionist (who i interacted with three times to check in and check out) texted me the following message: “Hey, this is Sam from the front desk at Econo. The Indian guy who was at the front desk when you checked out. I hope it is not too weird for me to get your number this way to try to talk to you.” I immediately blocked the number and did not respond. I reached out to expedia for a refund and they called the front desk at which point, he apparently told them he had texted me because i’d forgotten to sign a receipt when i checked out which is ABSURD. I continued to pursue the matter with expedia and they were unable to get the hotel on the phone again. The next day, i got a call from the manager AJ. I calmly explained the situation and while he was apologetic, he also said he couldn’t refund me. He asked if there had been anything wrong with the room and i was BAFFLED. The only appropriate resolution is to fire this employee immediately and issue a full refund - this is an OUTRAGEOUS violation of my privacy and the access this employee has to my personal information (including physical address and credit card) is terrifying. I filed a police report and will be continuing to pursue legal resolutions for the emotional distress this has causes. If you are a female traveler stay FAR FAR away from this business!!!

Rude employees in the am. Dirt under the beds. The rail on the second floor feels like it could fall off at any moment. Check in was fine. Sign in lobby says breakfast 730 am to 10. My adult son. Had to ring a bell to get in. Immediately asked what room number he was in. And what his name was. Be cause his first name is different than mine. They told him he couldn't eat. And that breakfast was at 8. We went down at 8 and had to wait to be buzzed in. They once again told my son he couldn't eat. I informed them that I paid for a room with two beds. And that the 2 of us were going to eat. And if they didn't like it they could call the cops. Breakfast was white bread only. Waffles. Only thing for the toast was grape jelly. No juices had Cheerios and frosted flakes. Coffee. No other choices.

This is a basic motel which is perfectly fine for a brief stay, no frills stay in in Albuquerque. The room was clean, and the staff was helpful. Shout out to Robert for being quite helpful during my stay. Public transit, which is currently free, is nearby, as are several good restaurants. The motel is close to downtown, and the University of New Mexico is also nearby.

The bed was comfortable and linens and towels were clean. But the room was somewhat dingy and the bathroom was worn and grimy in spots. The sign in the lobby said that the breakfast would begin at 7:00 am, but the doors didn't open until 8:00 am each day. This caused me to miss the breakfast two of the three days. There were several homeless people loitering around the hotel.

For a female traveling alone, this place was scary! The clerk gave me two options for which room I wanted but said he would not refund my pre-paid reservation if I wanted to go elsewhere. The premises were dirty and old, the room was dirty, the sheets were disgusting - holes, stains - the bathroom sink only dispenses cold water (no warm or hot water to wash my face in the morning.) The bathtub filled up with dirty water when I took my shower, and didn't drain until I turned the water off (I did not take a long shower.) There is NO place to put things in the bathroom unless you balance your stuff around the small sink, or on the toilet - UGH! I took two videos of the things I have described. I do not know how to pull single pics from the videos. The area around the property is insanely noisey all night long with sirens, vehicles, people shouting, etc.. I got almost zero sleep, and got out of Dodge as soon as the sun came up (It didn't feel safe to be loading my car in the dark.) I would NEVER stay at this hotel again, even with a companion!

It’s a nice quiet space, but not many dining options nearby. I had to rely on DoorDash. You also need cash for the snacks sold in the office. The hotel is located on Central Avenue, so it’s close to public transportation. I was able to hop on the ART to old town and walk a couple of blocks to catch the bus to the airport. The bus rides were free. The staff was friendly.

Breakfast was terrible

OK, so considering the area of Albuquerque, this place was actually really nice and exceeded my expectations. My room was clean. Paint was new, and aside from a tile in the shower that needs to be replaced, The beds were great even!. The only thing that was a little annoying was the intersection next to the hotel apparently is a popular spot for people to rev their cars at all hours of the night, but the fan/ air conditioner in the room is capable of blowing all night, which helps provide white noise. The only other thing I would ask them to change is to make breakfast earlier because I did not get to utilize the breakfast services the two days that I was there as I had to do a 3 Hour Drive to Roswell for a funeral Saturday and had to be on an early flight Sunday. otherwise nice people great room well exceeded my expectations for the price.
