We had a renovated room with a mountain view which was very nice. The cleaning staff were also very good. However this is NOT a hotel as there is no bar or restaurant. That didnt particularly bother us as Banff is awash with them. We took a bit of time to reserch a hotel and wanted one with a pool, which has now been closed for months. If we had known this before booking we would not have booked. Its a bit of a liberty to still charge the full tariff, but the hotel wasnt interedted in compensating us. The offer of using the pool in the sister hotel was more like a big bath, no way vould you be able to actually swim in it. Banff is expensive so we chose this hotel as it was a bit cheaper, but without the pool it was a bit disapointing.

Helpful staff when the room was too cold, facilities & rooms were clean. TVs were great and the hotel is within walking distance for everything. The bed was comfortable and the room was relatively spacious. The only issue we had was on the last night, house keeping had come in during the day and missed restocking the toilet paper (we were nearly out before they came) which would have come in handy later… as well as they didn’t bring more body soap which was a bummer as we ended up getting back to the hotel quite late. Easy mistake, but was just lightly inconvenient on the last night :) Just a note that for the parking, if your truck has even the smallest lift to it, it will not fit in the parking lot. The parking ceiling is very low and our regular F-150 (no lift) felt like a tight squeeze. The parking there is definitely more for SUV’s and cars. Over all would stay here again!

Old property, doesn’t justify the price we paid to stay there, no breakfast option, there’s no pool at this property. You have to walk half naked to next property where the staff was rude next door. Beds are not comfortable, but it was clean property and the room service was great at refilling the toiletries without reminding

We were disappointed that the hot tub was closed the. Site said pool closed but hot tub was closed as well. 14 a night parking ridiculous, I missed seeing that on the website, the fee was waived because we were going to go elsewhere

Spacious, clean, and comfortable room with easy accommodation's for our Chihuahua. Bathroom was large and clean with a lovely bathtub and big shower - and the beds were so comfortable! Definitely one of the better spots to stay at in Banff.

With a $400/night, the rooms needs to be at list clean and new. The carpet looks like it's 50 years old. Need to be totally renovated. I was sneezing everytime I was in the room. Not worth it. We were all upset and disgusted with the room. Would not recommend to anyone.

This hotel was very clean, the staff members were very helpful and knowledgeable. Parking was convenient. There were nearby restaurants and shopping malls. Local transportation was very close and easy to access. The room was clean and spacious.

This hotel is in a great location; it was only a 5-10 minute walk to downtown Banff. The front desk staff was friendly and were able to check us in to our room an hour early or so. The kitchenette suite was not very clean unfortunately. While the beds were comfortable, we discovered small stains on the sheets on two of the beds. The floors were very dirty as well, and all of my white socks quickly turned black on the bottom after walking around for a short period. We enjoyed having a kitchenette though, and it was stocked with all we needed. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again but I did enjoy the location.

The linen used in the room on the bed was not clean at all. It was resused. Concerns was raised and it was fixed next day as it could not be chnahed after arrival. No microwave in room had to go down to lobby to always heat up something.. Over all not a pleasant experience.

I would not recommend staying at this location. My family booked this hotel for a night. We woke up in the middle of the night with bug bites. There were also black bugs in the bed. We ended up moving to a different hotel in the middle of the night. We have been trying to get a refund from the hotel for over a month now and the manager has been ignoring us. I am extremely disappointed with this hotel and would not recommend staying here.

Outdated, dirty, smelled musty, soap provided had mold growing on it. No space for any luggage. Location was decent to downtown but dark dingy room, tiny lobby, and overall desperate need of renovation. Smokers allowed to smoke anywhere on property making the already limited outdoor space undesirable even though they say smoke free property. Not worth money.

Our room was really nice. Temperature control was perfect. We had great views of the mountains out the front & back windows. It was just lovely. Parking was outside & $15 a day. This may be a standard Banff cash grab. The room was really inexpensive for Banff, & Banff is awesome. It's a nice place to explore.

The hotel was less than a 10 minute walk to the Downtown Banff. The front desk staff was friendly. The hotel needs renovation. The loft rooms are unique and spacious; however, the bedroom is in the loft and you have to walk down a spiral staircase to go to the bathroom.

The rooms were amazing. They clearly just redid them all and they are very, very nice and big. It’s basically like a motel style hotel and the hotel itself is very very dated, but it’s got a great location and again the rooms were pristine.

A very delightful stay and I really appreciated the suite upgrade. It felt like living in a lodge cabin and the loft bedroom and fireplace felt very unique. The coffee was delicious and I’ll definitely stay here again, it was super cosy and very mountain town-esque!

Excellent location on Banff Ave. It’s just before all the chaos of the shops, which is great. 10-20 minute walk to all the restaurants, shuttles are close, Bow Valley River trail is walkable. Rooms and bathrooms are large. Only “cons” would be that the rooms surround the parking lot, which amplifies sound and the room decor is quite dated. Beds are very comfortable, however.

The room was acceptably clean. The service was decent. We loved having the EV charging on site and we were able to bring our two dogs with us. Being on the main floor for a pet friendly suite was awesome for getting in and out with the dogs. Only real trouble was the thermostat was set to 25 when we arrived and we spent a lot of the time being too hot even when we turned it down and opened the windows in 3 degrees. Also, the internet was unusable, but we had lots of cellular data to use during our stay.

Beautiful location, very walkable, right in Banff. There’s an elevator in the hotel, which made moving our luggage easy. Good parking. We chose the kitchenette suite and I cannot stress enough how amazing it was - they had all the utensils you would need to cook full meals, which is exactly what we wanted. You can’t go wrong with the kitchenette suite. They have free coffee and tea downstairs. The view is gorgeous, and it was really quiet. Perfect location. We had such a relaxing time, and would definitely come back again. The only complaint I have is that the luggage cart they have is cheap and terrible, but we’re probably the only ones coming with inordinate amount of luggage. Also the front desk NEVER picks up, NEVER, no matter what time you call them.

We appreciated being able to check in early, which was a nice start to our stay. However, our key card wasn’t working, and we had to go back and forth to the front desk multiple times to report that we couldn’t get into the room. Since it was very cold outside, this became quite inconvenient. On the third attempt, we asked a staff member to come and check the door directly, and after resetting the code, we were finally able to get in. The location is very accessible, which we liked. That said, it would be much better if there were an on-site restaurant. Guests are currently directed to a sister hotel, which requires a bit of a walk not ideal during cold weather. Overall, a convenient location with helpful staff once the issue was addressed, but improvements to room access and on-site dining would make the experience much smoother.

The property and staff were very accommodating. The pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance, which I understand, but that was not on the website or communicated to us at booking. They did provide other options at neighboring sister hotels. They were unable to provide a key card that would work for our room so the first night and the majority of the next day we had to be let in to our room by staff of manager. They were very nice and aware of the inconvenience for both parties involved.

Overall a good experience, except for the fact that one of the front desk staff was quite rude and did not try to hid the fact that he did not want to be there. This staff member should be reminded that good customer service is an important part of working at a hotel, even if you dislike your job.

The Charltons Banff is a fantastic property to use as a base in this beautiful town. We loved everything about it from the staff to the spacious, clean, and very comfortable room. Everything is in walking distance in town so driving and finding parking isn’t really necessary. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this great property again.

The Charlton's Banff was a nice location and fine accomodations. The property is clean, safe, and quiet - on the further side of Banff Ave but certainly walkable. Maybe a 5-minute walk to the downtown action. The property is a bit dated, but still nice. Small things like sufficient outlets can be out-of-the-ordinary these days. No food service and questions are often referred to the sister property a few doors down.

Great spot. No direct breakfast on site but places to walk to. For families it would be nice to have something to grab and go to make it easier for hiking and exploring. Parking was $15 a day. The bus to town was $2 per adult. Rooms updated and having a one bedroom is clutch with two small kids.

I liked that it's away from the busy tourist areas, because it was quiet, yet it's not that far away from the stores, restaurants, etc (there are some restaurants around the hotel as well.) My only complaint really, is there is a $15 parking cost and that wasn't stated in the ad so it was a surprise. I loved the comfy bed, it was like sleeping on a cloud. I am tall and I loved the big bath tub that I could stretch out in, almost laying out completely. It's not far from the grocery store as well. Staff were pleasant, even when I locked myself out of the room!

Adrien was great when we checked in! Very nice accommodations and perfect for us! Neil, in the sister hotel of Royal Canadian Lodge, was a GREAT help when we were just moments from not making our Lake Louise tour!!! Great experience!! Highly recommend!
