It looks like there was a fire in part of the building, tarps and boarded up windows/doors. Under the walkways for the second you can see material falling away/moldy. When we arrived there was a garbage bag at the top of the stairs. It was pretty awful looking.

The good things: Cheap, comfy bed, lots of outlets by the bed, pets stay free, well lit at night, lots of grass close by to walk pets, near msu and Mclaren, friendly staff. The negative things: Old facilities, no Bible, ant infested, holey comforter, shower didn't get hot, dirty coffee maker, bad cheap coffee, no breakfast, crackling phone connection every call to front desk, stained bath mat and tattered towels, shorted a wash cloth. All that to say, it was a great price and we'd actually likely stay there again. Convenient location, nice setting near msu agricultural fields.

Everything was good. While I stayed they where paving the parking lot. And i had killed a few stink bugs. Other then that everything was pretty good. Building could use an update for sure but atleast the bed was comfy.

It was horrible to say the least and the parking lot had big holes in it and when we went up to our rooms they were smoked in and holes burnt in the comforters both of them and ashes on the bed. It was dirty is all I can say and we ask for our money back and they did a refund on my debit card and then turned around the next day and charged me again and now I have to try and get my money back for a night I didn’t stay. Don’t stay there is all I can say we did not feel safe at all in the few minutes we were there.

The initial desk clerk gave me inaccurate info about whether the hotel had onsite washer/dryer for public use. Upon speaking to the knowledgeable desk clerk over nights, I was given proper info and I was able to utilize the washer/dryer. The rooms were nice, clean and updated with modern conveniences. I was very pleased with my stay. I only wished I hadn’t made the mistake of adding an additional nights stay, only because I ended up making it for the older & not so convenient location of Red Roof Inn E Lansing, instead of Okemos location.

Property was run down at best. My room was “clean” after a fashion but was “no smoking” and smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. The exterior of the facility was in terrible shape. Additionally, my security lock on the inside of the room was broken. It is convenient to MSU and way less expensive than the competitors. All prices were jacked up due to graduation weekend. I was late to the game and had to settle for this facility.

The building is run down. We were a little concerned with the number of dogs staying here but they were well behaved. Outlet by mirror in bathroom did not work and there was no facial tissue provided. Other than that we did sleep okay so mission accomplished.

The place was filthy and falling apart. Sometime after checkin at 10pm Friday night and 6am Saturday morning the glass in the main hotel door just shattered everywhere. They put plastic in the door, but left the broken glass for their guests to walk on. The television in the room didn’t work, I was told it would be fixed by the time we got back to the hotel on the second night and it wasn’t. There was mold in the nasty bathroom light/fan fixture (photos attached). We were given 1 bath towel for 2 people for 2 nights and told we couldn’t have anymore because they didn’t have any. The trim was peeling off the wall and I tripped over it in the dark because lightbulbs were burnt out. A refrigerator was advertised, but as seen in the photos, one was not provided. Overall a horrible experience. I would never recommend anyone stay at this location.

My room was not clean. There was hair in the sink and shower. Some outlets didn't work. Floor had not been cleaned, food on it from previous customer. Told staff my concerns and they didn't appear to care. Laighed at me when I asked about continental breakfast.

There was hair EVERYWHERE, on the bed, in the shower, on the heating vent, in the fridge. The floor was SO sticky when I walked with my shoes it stuck to the ground. There was old makeup in with the “clean towels” . There was food crumbs left all over and the toilet paper was left empty … over all I will NEVER return here

The room was dirty- toilet dirty- the carpet on the entire floor was SOAKED - come to find out there was no shower curtain- and the entire bathroom floor was soaked- leading to the possible reason the entire floor (carpet) was soaked... obviously if they cleaned it they would have known there was no shower curtain at all... toilet had hair and piss all over it... stayed there many times- its a true "roach hotel"- its cheap- but you might be taking a shower in the open... LOL

Checked in and checked right back out! When you first walked into the room the smell of weed is about to knock you on the floor. Once in the room you notice the dirty walls the dirty sheets comforter and black mold everywhere including in the toilet

We got to our room and the bedding was filthy. Noticeably stained and already slept in before we arrived. Animal hair and crumbs on the carpet along the wall. 3 guests staying in 1 room and they wouldn't let us have 3 towels. When taking a shower the water randomly changes temp from hot to freezing to scalding to luke warm like a bad record on repeat. By far the worst, most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed in in my entire life.

Upon checking in a sign on counter in lobby stated TVs not working. Must of not paid their cable bill. Shady people in parking lot, pacing outside of building. Didn’t feel very safe. During the night people were screaming and arguing. Didn’t sleep at all!! Stated coffee in lobby NOT!! When asked where the coffee was the desk attendant said something however couldn’t understand her. I had to ask her what several times to repeat herself. Finally said never mind and left. Can’t believe I was charged for staying there, they should have paid me.

Took three tries to get a livable room for my friend. First room had someone else's stuff in it, second room was undergoing renovations (shower area ripped up), third room the heater wasn't working. My room was clean except there was a dirty towel hanging on the bathroom door. But no soap or shampoo in the dispensers. Heater did not keep the room warm even set to 77. Absolutely freezing! No willingness to compensate at check out. Love the location and price but not sure I'm willing to try again .

Out of the 3 wall outlets only one worked and it was no where near the mirror for curling your hair. The room had no chair to sit on to put your shoes on. The room was so small the bed took up 80 percent of the space. Would never recommend this place for any amount of money. We were charged 368.00 for the night and it sucked big time.

The first room I was checked into had water all over the floor so I was moved to another room, which still smelled like cigarette smoke and was very small. There were multiple people hanging out near my room talking on the balcony for most of the night. I wouldn't recommend this hotel

We were unable to check in . Their computer systems were down and they said there was nothing they could do. The front desk agent was not at all empathetic to our situation. We booked through a third party so there was no refund as the hotel could not be contacted. It was just a mess for us.

The staff were very polite and friendly, and they were helpful. Otherwise, I'd have rated only one star. I had to go to the front desk THREE times because the key to the room stopped working. Each time they fixed it right away, but it was an annoying inconvenience. The property is badly run down. Lots of people hanging around outside their rooms smoking. The bed sheets had smudges on them of indeterminate origin. The bedspread had stains and smudges. One pillowcase had a small drop of a blood stain on it. Very gross. The bathroom and sink were clean. The TV remote was slow and there was no channel guide provided. My room had only a desk chair and lacked a comfortable chair to sit in, so it was impossible to relax. The mattress was only fair. They don't have daily maid service. Front desk said it was available upon request. I can't recommend this property.

We arrived at 3:47pm and were told no rooms were cleaned or ready come back later. We had a reservation and needed to put food and meds in the refrigerator as we needed to be up and gone by 5:30 am for the rest of our trip. Didn’t get a room until after 6pm Never again at this Red Roof Inn

When I got there, they told me they didn’t have my reservation that I made Like a month in advance, They said they can’t do anything and that I have to call Expidia which I did and they never answer me like always (I booked throughout Expidia) after 45 minutes they told me they had my room

Very typical red roof inn. Nothing special but has everything you need, bed was comfy and room was clean. Little highway noise but it’s right off the highway so can’t complain. Friendly staff and only a ten minute drive from MSU. Will be back!

The room was clean and spacious; refrigerator and microwave were provided. I felt the price was a little high, however, I am not comparing prices to other hotels in Lansing, just prices at Red Roof Inns in other cities. Negatives: The hotel is not near anything, i.e. restaurants, supermarkets, etc. If you don't have a car, you are stuck with the candy in the vending machine. Check-out is at 11 a.m. and the front desk called my room at 11:03. Most hotels give you a little grace period.

The man at the front desk is a real gem. You don't generally find that level of courtesy and respect in budget friendly accommodations. He gave me the extra set of towels I requested and brought an extra pillow to my room, all with a smile in spite of the inconvenience to himself for having to search the laundry room. The room itself is about what can be expected in this price range. One bed had a small burn mark and the other had a stain, but the floors were not sticky, thank God, and the toilet was actually clean under the seat. Small annoyances such as the TV remote needing new batteries and the bathtub slightly on the small side for soaking were not enough to spoil our stay. I was, however, a little disappointed because I thought I booked a room that served breakfast, and this location, unfortunately, does not, although they do appear to have the capacity for it in what appears to be a dining area just around the hall from the front desk.
