I was pleased with my stay overall. The only thing that I was bummed about was the pool. The chemicals were so strong, my 4 year old and I both had red hot skin and burning eyes for two days after. We only went in the pool for an hour and would've spent much more time in it if we could've.

The suite had a musty weird funky smell to it, the sofa was gross not clean, the arm rest to the sofa was dirty. I wanted to sleep on the sofa bed but afraid too. The livingroom was cooler then the bedroom. If you want the bedroom to be cooler during hot weather you have to leave the a/c on 60 degrees. Sadly the pool & hot whirlpool was broken down. Good thing the front and staff were sweet and friendly I loved and appreciated that. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen/dining area and bathroom was okay.

Don’t be misled by the pictures on hotels.com. This place was a dump. Crappy neighborhood, old and outdated hotel. Pool was closed. None of the streaming on the tv worked. Hallways had a distinctly weird smell. Magnetic cards and “readers” in the door were ancient and had to be re-magnetized during stay. Beds were comfy though. Not worth the price, for an extra $20 a night you could stay somewhere much better.

I spent a week while my son was at UMass Amherst for a weeklong workshop. Let me start off by saying this was not a vacation for me, it was an unplanned last minute thing and I needed a place to stay that was within my budget. That being said…it was a decent enough place to stay. The people that worked the front desk were very friendly and helpful. My stay started off great and then it sounded like someone was moving furniture above me all night long for a few nights. This hotel appears to have short (or long) term residents living there. I liked that the room had a full kitchen with a regular sized fridge. The hotel did not serve breakfast but did have a little store with free coffee. The store had what you needed in a pinch (I splurged on some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream) but grocery stores aren’t far and with a kitchen in the room I brought my own food in. The pool is in the basement of the building next to the inner workings of the hotel. It looked decent but I would’ve only used it if it was outside. I was excited that there was a gym until I saw that it was shared with the guest laundry room and it was extremely hot & stuffy in there because of the dryers running. There was a nice covered area outside that had grills and I noticed it was used a lot by the guests. There’s not a lot to do in the surrounding are (except a mall) but the ocean is only an hour away in New Haven, CT. I did head to the Dr. Seuss museum and enjoyed seeing 5 different museums for one price.

Our stay was fairly average. The room was clean enough and all the of the team members at the hotel were friendly and welcoming. The elevator was having issues and the carpeting in the stairways really needed to be cleaned better or replaced. Hallways were loud and being on the second floor the people above us were loud pretty late. Overall it was adequate for what we needed.

The elevator from a horror story. Carpet needed replacement. Gym equipment could be maintained. We had 2 beds in our room and one bed was well used on one side as it leaned. So we had to use the other bed. However we did like the idea of the kitchenette, and no one coming in our room daily to clean, and we had a shop downstairs for food items to cook. Thank you.

The hotel is tired looking. Rugs extremely worn and dirty in hallways. We had only 1 burner that worked on stove. When turned on ice maker in refrig ended up with water filling base of refrigerator. Air conditioning unit was extremely loud when running. Window Screen was falling out. My son was able to fix that so was able to open window. Spoke to staff and nothing was done to address issues.

I found a cockroach in the silverware drawer before checking out. When I let the front desk employee know he simply said: ok I’ll let management know. I think at least an apology would be appropriate. The carpet in front of our door was stained and frayed. The whole place seemed like it needed a deep clean. The bed was comfortable. The pool/hot tub, although weirdly in the basement, was ok to spend some time in.

Bathroom door was missing a piece of the lock so wouldn't close tightly. Black mold where the toilet seat (that was loose) joins the bowl. Shower head had too much pressure and actually was painful to shower as there was no adjustment available to the flow. Bed was comfortable and room was clean.

Rooms were clean and beds comfortable enough. Only complaint about the beds is the mattress cover and bottom sheet kept slipping off. The heating/cooling unit is extremely noisy. Bathrooms were clean and ample amount of amenities were available. hallway carpeting needs replacing and the walls. On our floor, there what appeared to be a homeless person, or someone who didn’t belong there, sitting on the floor and randomly walking around

A well-run motel designed for long stays. No maid service is offered for stays less than a week, although the front desk will provide clean towels. The rooms showed some wear, but overall were clean and comfortable. The bed was excellent, the air conditioning very noisy. The only ice other than that made by the room refrigerator's ice maker (mine didn't work) are some cubes in a downstairs cooler. The desk people were extremely pleasant and helpful.

We liked how easy it was to get to/from the hotel in West Springfield, how many resources (grocery stores, etc) were close by, and the layout of the room with a little kitchenette, but the slam of auto-closing doors and the sound of foot traffic in the room above us was unbelievably clear and disturbingly loud. I had sleeping earbuds in and could muffle both but my wife wasn't so lucky. I'd stay here again but not without ear plugs.

Front desk staff was very nice. Very good area with lots of restraurants, easy highway access. Property is old especially the bathrooms and the room heating/cooling units. Extremely loud! BUT our room and property was clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Perhaps my review is tainted by my experience, but I left the property early and checked into another hotel. Front desk staff member could not have cared less. Police officers were in the lobby at check in looking for people. Then I heard a loud bang on my door as I was napping. I was greeted by 2 officers looking for “people”. I got very nervous and left.

I was kicked out because my one year old was walking on the floor and the employee at the desk claimed that he was making too much noise and that the person below me made a noise complaint when I went down stairs no one was below me the front door where the lobby is was directly below my room the woman at the front desk was ride and disrespectful and discriminatory towards my child. Also the employee at the desk had me wait u til she finished her personal phone call before she checked me in. She refused to giver her name so that I could properly make a report about my experience.

Our stay was great at the Candlewood Suites. All of the staff were wonderful and very accommodating. The kids loved the pool and the snack room. Also, the one bedroom room was great for families and the bed was very comfortable. The location was great to go to the basketball hall of fame and MGM. It was also only 50 minutes to skiing.

Nice place to stay. Several good eateries and other shopping within a few miles, not far from Holyoke mall (one of the areas largest). Minutes from the Big "E" (Eastern States Exposition) grounds. Only real complaint: the room's two rolling desk chairs are extremely uncomfortable for sitting more than a few minutes at a time.

We liked how easy it was to get to/from the hotel in West Springfield, how many resources (grocery stores, etc) were close by, and the layout of the room with a little kitchenette, but the slam of auto-closing doors and the sound of foot traffic in the room above us was unbelievably clear and disturbingly loud. I had sleeping earbuds in and could muffle both but my wife wasn't so lucky. I'd stay here again but not without ear plugs.

I spent a week while my son was at UMass Amherst for a weeklong workshop. Let me start off by saying this was not a vacation for me, it was an unplanned last minute thing and I needed a place to stay that was within my budget. That being said…it was a decent enough place to stay. The people that worked the front desk were very friendly and helpful. My stay started off great and then it sounded like someone was moving furniture above me all night long for a few nights. This hotel appears to have short (or long) term residents living there. I liked that the room had a full kitchen with a regular sized fridge. The hotel did not serve breakfast but did have a little store with free coffee. The store had what you needed in a pinch (I splurged on some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream) but grocery stores aren’t far and with a kitchen in the room I brought my own food in. The pool is in the basement of the building next to the inner workings of the hotel. It looked decent but I would’ve only used it if it was outside. I was excited that there was a gym until I saw that it was shared with the guest laundry room and it was extremely hot & stuffy in there because of the dryers running. There was a nice covered area outside that had grills and I noticed it was used a lot by the guests. There’s not a lot to do in the surrounding are (except a mall) but the ocean is only an hour away in New Haven, CT. I did head to the Dr. Seuss museum and enjoyed seeing 5 different museums for one price.

This is my 2nd stay at this hotel. While it’s not fancy it’s very clean. The rooms are clean, the beds are super comfortable and there is a gym and washing facilities. There a little shop where you can buy food items to cook, drinks, snacks,some toiletries and washing powder. There is not a breakfast option but there is a Dennys next door. Just down the road there is a supermarkets, several stores, a cinema and several restaurants. There’s also a Starbucks and Macdonald near by. The area is very quiet.

It’s been 5 days since I checked out and I still have not gotten back my $100 security deposit. Reached out twice and was told both times they don’t know why, and to call back again to try and get ahold of the property manager. The hotel was very nice though. Besides what I said above (and assuming I do get that back) I would definitely stay again.

Room was kept up but bathroom was terrible. Towel holder broke first night. Reported but never got fixed. 3rd night lost AC. Had to wait for 2 hours to get another room. Same issue with the bathroom again. I was glad that the employees were very nice and friendly

We booked two rooms - one for us and the other for our daughter and her family. They were conveniently across the hall from each other. The rooms were neat, well stocked, and the beds were comfortable. The grandkids loved the indoor pool. The hotel location was great - just a few miles from Six Flags New England. This could easily be a yearly mini-vacation for us.
