Ameriway Inn and Suites

Hotel was clean. Staff was friendly. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was for the hot tub and when we got there the hot tub was down for maintenance and had been for 3 months with no mention on the Expedia site.

Room was clean. The got tub not working didn’t make us happy and we were not informed about it.

Everything went well. Room clean. Unfortunately the pool was under going maintenance and was closed.

Overall, pretty good. Not enough chairs in the pool area. There weren't any signs in the pool area about getting towels. The stationary bike in the exercise room was the only three that worked over the two day stay. If breakfast was expanded, this would be a great stay. Thanks.

The staff was friendly. The adjoining restaurant bar was convenient and the food was good. The price was right for a one nights stay.

The bed isn’t very comfortable, there’s not much extra bedding for the pullout couch, and the a/c doesn’t get cold. But the amenities are great, love the bar/resturant right next door. Decent pool (no towels though) and hot tub. Decor is outdated and there’s no elevator. Something to consider. For the price, it’s a good hotel.

Very nice hotel and staff. The pool area was under construction which would have been nice to know before hand but overall the stay was very nice. Will be lodging again at some point :)

The pool is down and they do not tell you. They said it could be down for months and would not refund my money. They did not even mention anything when checking in and were very rude when we asked about it

Love the room. Didn’t like that they rented the pool for $7 a day to the public. Pool was very busy.

Mold in rooms and signs of bed bugs

Rooms are decently clean but worn out, failing wallpaper, needs new beds. the king bed i had was an old spring with a double box spring. The box spring was broken and crowned in the middle. The shower needed a deep clean. The common area needed a deep clean. Handrails were clearly in touched for a long time. U could see built up dirt. When on the stair landing toucan see the tops of vending machines dustiness and handprints. The continental breakfast area was sticky and minimally appealing. When in the common area and hotel desk it was visible the staff was living there, you could see an attached room where the stall slept or rested. In the hall to the pool there was an open door to a kitchette occupied with staff foods and mess. The pool looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in some time and that might reflect in the Saftey of the water. I was appalled at the state of the pool bathroom/ changing room. It looked as if had not been cleaned in weeks. The sink and toilet were soiled heavily. Trash on the floor, dirty walls. I assumed it was the hotel staffs toilet. I will not recommend or stay there again.

Super clean, and with plenty of dining/convenience options nearby. My only caveat is that the walls were a bit thin, so the neighbors sound a bit noisier than they really are. Overall though, one of the nicer hotels I've stayed at.

After checking in, late in evening, went to room and checked it out. The bathtub was filthy, cobwebs in ceiling. The bedding was actually clean. Went to get ice from ice machine it was full of mold. Told night manager they need to put do not use sign on it and why. Woke up next morning and notice lamp shade in room was full of mold. As we left I spoke to manager again and told him about all the issues and even showed him. He didn't even offer to compensate something off my bill.

This will go down as one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. We arrived late at night. It was around 3:30 or 4 in the morning. When I got to my room, I found trash on the floor. The bathroom had pee on the toilet seat and on the floor and the sink at the vanity was dirty as well. I went to the front desk to get help and was told there was nothing they could do for me. Then the girl working the front desk handed me a bottle of Lysol and a towel so I could clean my toilet and use it. The next day, someone was supposed to come clean my room. It didn’t happen until the afternoon. Then the next day I had someone in my room first thing in the morning, waking me up because they were finally responding to the fact that my room needed to be cleaned. So not only was the communication with customers is terrible, the communication amongst the staff was also not great. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Easy check in, quiet. AC and heat worked fine. Bed and pillows were comfortable. My room appeared to be quite clean and tidy. but had a musty odor even after running the ac so I don’t know if there’s a mold /mildew issue that’s not visible. I did not use the pool or eat the free b-fast so I can’t comment on those amenities. Overall, it was a decent value.

Signs of bed bugs previously and mold

Bathroom was dirty. Toilet has remants from the previous stay. We found a pair of underwear behind a chair as we were packing up to leave.

Incredibly disappointing and disgusted. Room clearly was not cleaned. Bed sheets were used, sticky nightstand, opened soaps on counter, room clearly hadn’t been vacuumed, and used plastic spoon on top of microwave. Asked for a new room but there wasn’t anything. Can’t believe I paid for this. I would have rather slept in my car but I needed a bathroom.

I'm sorry to give a bad review. We stayed here because it had an 8.4 rating, so we thought it would be pretty good. When we first entered the room, the smell of mold and must was overwelming and it continued thru the night. Not a good night of sleep. Also, when we entered the room, my daughter had to use the bathroom and there was poop in the toilet and poop on the seat. That is absolutely inexcusable. Would never recommend this place.

Property in need of an upgrade…walls are terribly thin…overall condition not great

The room was clean and there wasnt a lot of noise. The bed was too firm. I could feel the springs in my back.

Rooms were clean, bed was hard as a rock

Was close to shopping and restaurants. Bed was a little harder then we are use to. Only issue was being woke up at 130am by children running up and down the hall yelling.

rooms were very spacious and very clean. If you need a first floor room make sure to request it as there is not elevator and that is the only draw back.. Defiantly highly recommend this hotel.

Room very outdated and

We had a minor issue with our room and Reed, the manger upgraded our room. He also, to ensure we wouldn't be over charged.

We arrived after 3 for check-in and were told one of the rooms was not yet ready. Front desk clerk told us it should only be about 10 minutes and he would call when ready. We left to shop and came back 90 minutes later. Room still not ready. We waited another hour and were told it was still not ready. We not able to access the room until after 7 pm. Staff ignored us and hid the the employee area so they would not have to talk to us. They blamed Expedia and stated it was a reservation problem, then blamed lack of staff. Hot tub had a band aid floating in it, food all over he floor in the pool area that stated no food or drink allowed. Complimentary shampoo bottle was half empty and the soap was clearly reused. We come to this area yearly for an event and we will never stay here again.

The room wasn’t bad, but there were 2 gentlemen that did seem like they knew how to check a person or others in?

Check in went as usual but the foreign accent of the desk clerk was very difficult to understand. Not a good understanding of english? Once in the room we discovered the TV had no sound. We called the desk clerk. And she came to room and after trying, pretty much shrugged her shoulders. Asked what she would do, she again pretty much shrugged her shoulders.She called the manager and he also had no clue. We were late for a meeting and switching rooms. Wasnt an option for us nor was it offerred. Earlier in the week we stayed there for two days and the TV wasnt working and the room telephone was dead. Thy fixed the TV while we were out for dinner but did nothing about the phone. Overall, there was much difficulty in understanding each others language. Overall the place was fine but not worth the aggravation of trying to communicate the issues and the apparent lack of concern of the staff.

The guy at the desk was very rude my brother stand there his family had to leave do to bed bugs not a very clean place also it’s suppose to be a kid friendly place my kids couldn’t even play at the pool with out being told there to loud and they would close the pool and kick us out this hotel I wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Nice hotel, very friendly staff!

Everyone was prompt and polite they even let me check in early and i was late checking out and they very understanding.

Room was really clean. Front desk was friendly and very helpful. It was located far off the road which made it very quiet. For this area of the thumb it was a good solid property.

The signage to get to the hotel was limited and with the hotel tucked behind other buildings it was hard to find even with the GPS

Ameriway Inn is ok, especially given the price of $125.00 plus tax. There is shopping and family type (including fast food) restaurants on M-53 (I don't know the city street name for this hotel). Nearby shopping includes both Meijer and Walmart. Parking is easy and very safe. (Bad Axe is very safe community). The hotel rooms are basic but clean. The hotel, however, is showing its age. The first floor hallway carpeting is stained in places. My room had drapes that wouldn't close properly. (I had to jury-right the drapes closed because an outdoor light beamed itself through the window right onto the bed). The room was stuffy but running the air conditioning helped with that. The continental breakfast beverages consist of coffee, orange juice, and tea. Food was commercially prepared and individual wrapped baked goods - similar to what one would find at a convenience store. (There is a toaster for bagels). It is important to note is that the front desk closes at 10 p.m. and reopens the next morning at 5:00 a.m. Do call ahead if you plan to arrive after 10.00 p.m.

An average hotel but overpriced. Still best you can find in the area.

Close to really good restaurants and bars with a cool bar attached! Rates were fairly inexpensive compared to some of the other larger hotels in the area.

Clean, large rooms but staff problems. There was no one around in the morning for breakfast. My husband actually made the coffee and pulled a few things out of the kitchen.

It was ok nothing to write home about breakfast could be better for the amount of money you pay

The staff was wonderful. We liked both men that worked the desk during the 2 nites we stayed. Only disappointed in the continental breakfast. Could have been better. Coffee was wonderful and fresh all day.

Hotel was chosen for the combination of facilities, dining, and breakfast. However, we were greeted by temporary staff from the Holiday Inn! In the morning, there were no staff to set out breakfast. The golf tour guests made a good attempt at brewing coffee and raiding the ‘staff only’ kitchen. Whilst that made an entertaining start to the day, the Ameriway obviously couldn’t solve their problem. That’s not good enough!

Breakfast could use some help. Not many options, we got the jetted tub and it was amazing. Short drive to port Austin.

i paid extra for a hotel with a pool at check tn we were informed the pool is closed for the near future. i was not offered a discount. i paid for an extra guest but only had 2 towels. they never came in for room service to at least exchange towels and remove trash. trash in parking lot needed addressed. the overall hotel was dated from drapes to carpet. i wiill not stay there again!!!
