SureStay Plus by Best Western Alamogordo White Sands

The one thing I did not like was the rooms all have a direct access to parking, in other words, the rooms are all outside rooms. When I made the reservations, my hope was everything was inside the building; my fault, just didn't pay attention to where the rooms were. The staff was great; breakfast was hot and lots of food available, with choices and the person responsible for the food was excellent. Rooms were comfortable, lots of hot water, would have been nice to have a grab bar in the shower, for us old guys. Bed was OK; probably needs to be updated, wi-fi was good and the TV had more channels than you could shake a stick at!

Visited white sands NP. Hotel great location They offer sleds for you to borrow but we found out after we had gone to the park.

Clean. The pool was not open.

This place was great! I loved the breakfast with the waffle batter dispenser and waffle maker; that was so fun! Wish there had been actual cartons of cream, instead of the single serve creamers. The room was also very nice. There was plenty of space to lay out all our luggage. The more expensive hotel room we had in ABQ was more cramped than the spacious room we stayed at here at the Quality Inn & Suites. The biggest complaint I have was that the parking lot was full.

The fitness room was closed and both ice machines were down. The room was OK, but cracks and corners in bathroom need cleaning. The vent fan cover was hanging from ceiling.

The pool is dirty and the plywood-covered spa is... unsightly. Any shiny surfaces in the room are stained or dirty. But sheets and towels are clean and woman at check in was very nice.

The outside appearance when you pull up is deceiving. While the hotel may look dated and unwelcoming on the outside, the interior is more modern and clean. The hotel staff were kind and made check in smooth after a long day of driving. Hotel room was clean, bed was comfortable and shower was warm! Happy with the room. Only downfall was the paper thin walls to hear people talking. Pool was open but hot tub was inoperable. Breakfast was the basics. Waffles, pork sausage patties & links, scrambled & fried eggs, bagels, slices bread, muffins, coffee & juice. Hotel is walking distance to lots of restaurants and coffee spots! It’s about 20 minutes to White Sands National park & the Pistacholand. It’s also located just at the base of mountains with plenty of hiking trails. Hotel advertised as pet friendly, which technically it is. There is only a very very small area of grass. Like, a side walk patch. However, 10 minutes away is an amazing dog park and outdoor sports complex. Overall, we were satisfied with our hotel stay for the price.

This Quality Inn is a very rundown hotel. Again there was nothing on Expedia that said there was no elevator. Please list that on your website of hotels when not available. Seniors do have problems dragging their suitcases up and down. We would have picked a different hotel if we had known.

Staff at lobby was great! Friendly, quick check in. The area to walk a dog was minimal on actual hotel property. There was an adjacent empty lot which was filthy and had much dog droppings. Not a good property to have a dog.

The room was clean, spacious, well kept, and the AC was functioning.

Hotel was clean, beds comfortable, fair breakfast and easy to get to. Appreciated that they allow dogs and also had room to park a truck with a trailer.

Location is good and accessible to everything. I would recommend to inprove in the cleanliness of the room. There were flies in the room and floor is dirty as well.

Everything was as pictured as far as the decor. The front desk stuff was friendly. The breakfast was as expected. The thing that ruined the stay was the room was dirty. The bathroom has something brown on the wall looked like poop. The floor had hair all over it. The toilet seat was dirty. I wiped it down with Lysol wipes just to make it usable. The room floor is dark so you couldn’t see the dirty but my toddler ran around the room with no shoes on and literally 5 mins later the bottom of his feet were black. The bedding had grease/oil spots. I doubt it was changed. There was also a baby roach on the wall. I only see one so no strong opinion on that.

This hotel looks like it was recently remodeled so the flooring and cabinets were nice but there were stains on on the bedspread and the shower head was corroded. I think if hotel spent the effort to switch out the bedspreads and do some fixture updates it could be a decent place to stay but definitely felt low class.

Room smelled really bad. Toilet seat nearly falling off. Bathroom sink drain is slow. Bathtub/toilet room is tiny!

Everything is good except for the bathroom. It is tiny for a suite.

The only problem was the drain in the shower. It didn't drain, so halfway through you were standing in dirty water..

We stayed in a suite and the room was large and decently maintained. However the bathroom was so small the sink was placed outside of the room. So, in the room itself was the bathroom sink and on another was the kitchenette sink.

We got the double queen suite. Nice big room. There is no late checkout times. Shower was right next to toilet in small room with no exhaust fan. Bath tub was not suitable for a bath. The people above us were really loud and all night. Breakfast was awesome. I forgot something in a drawer, that I’ve owned for 25 years. I went back for it but the cleaning staff did not report it. I’m really bummed.

Asked to have my room cleaned. Dirty towels were taken, but not replaced with any clean ones. Had to go to front desk to get some. Kleenex box had exactly ONE tissue in it. Had to go to front desk again to ask for tissue

Clean! Friendly staff! Room was SO much bigger than I thought it would be. Parking lot felt safe and well lit. Room had the AC blasting when we arrived. Breakfast was awesome.., even had Nutella! What a great place for this price!

I really didnt like after driving 8 hours, my room wasnt ready at 3. I had to wait till 530. That sucked.

Edgar was so very helpful in securing a suite with 2 beds. I really appreciate all his efforts especially during spring break. I also liked the refurbished room. Nice breakfast as well.

This has been the worst customer service experience I have had in over 20 years of traveling. I booked the two-night stay so my boyfriend would arrive at the hotel on the evening of June 28th, 2024. He is a resident of Ruidoso and had been dealing with the recent fires, followed by flooding, then having the water shut off in the city because it had become unsafe due to the ash on the ground. He is a first responder who was also recovering from an injury. I wanted him to have a space to shower and rest before I arrived on the morning of the 29th. Unfortunately, because of heavy rains and flooding the roads out of Ruidoso were closed and he was unable to get to Alamogordo the evening of the 28th, despite all efforts. He arrived at the hotel at 7am on the 29th as it was the earliest he could due to road closures. When he tried to check in, he was told we were marked as a no-show and the night clerk canceled our reservation, yet followed through with the charges. My boyfriend inquired how we could be a no-show if we paid for the room in advance for 2 nights, and we were checking in before check out time of our first day. The manager, Edgar, was also unhelpful and completely apathetic. He said that we needed to cancel 24 hours in advance, I explained that I had no intention of canceling. We were simply a late check-in because of a natural disaster. There was no policy for a late check-in and it depended on what time their books from the previous day were closed out.

The breakfast host gentlemen with a pony tail was extremely rude…he acted as if he hated his job and didn’t care to help.

Easy access to restaurants and stores. Nice quiet area.

Many options to eat nearby and very close to the national park.

Very easy location to White Sands NP. Breakfast was good. Parking was not great we couldn’t get close to our room. Room was spacious and we enjoyed the shower and tub after a long week of camping. Staff were very nice. Sink was slow to drain. Would stay there again.

The nice lady who checked me in was super friendly and helpful. There are hundreds of restaurants less than five minutes away.

Stayed here for one night with my elderly mom, front desk staff seemed confused or overtired from working too much, very nice lady we arrived early with my elderly mother and she was able to accommodate the check in on the first floor, breakfast had hot food and was well stocked, the hotel was located on a super busy street near railroad tracks.

We were there to visit White Sands and it was very convenient for that. But we also enjoyed the close location to town and restaurants.

What looking for an inexpensive place to stay that was decent. I have stayed in this chain many times and I was not disappointed, It was a budget stay. It had been remodeled and the rooms was clean. Check-in was lovely and valuable information was shared. Only 2 things that might have someone not happy with this place: parking can be a challenge and the railroad tracks behinf the building.

Great option for your stay at Almagordo. Clean, freshly remodeled, with a good selection of items for the free breakfast. Walkable distance to the few restaurants in Alamogordo and convenient to White Sand Park.

It’s a motel for an easy stay going to the white sands park. That being said, it served the purpose. The property is clean and easily accessible. Walking distance to many dinning options. The downside is the capacity is limited for the increasing tourist numbers. The trash can in the parking lot is overflowing. The breakfast area is super tiny and they run out of food at 8:30. The breakfast guy became agitated about why people are blocking him (because we have to wait in longline to get a slice of whatever leftover). He stopped working and went to have a serious conversation with the manager. Later the manager told me they ran out of cream cheese and everything since yesterday. Nothing to spread on your toast or bagel. $120 for a motel stay.

Wendy was very helpful and delightful to speak to. Breakfast had many choices and was presented well.

While its an older hotel its is kept up. The breakfast area is way too small for the size of the hotel tho.
