The hotel itself is older and needs updating but what you are really paying for here is the incredible beachfront view and the ease of beach access which is literally steps away. The pool is just ok and both the sauna and steam room were out of order while we were there which was a bummer. The only working ice machine was located on the top floor and every soda/water machine on the property was out of product but you didn’t know that until after you had already put your money into the machine. After getting our money back at the front desk, we were going to just purchase drinks from the variety for sale there only to find out one can of Dr. Pepper was $5 and a water $7! We drove to a nearby store.

We did our annual highschool girlfriend trip here and it was so wonderful! We enjoyed the adult only swimming from 9-11 pm and the fire pits too. We caught a free shuttle from there to the casino for a fun live music event! It's such a great option! The balcony views are amazing. You can't get any closer to the beach!

Great place to stay with kids. Perfect beach access. Pool is well kept. Clean and plenty of towels. They also have a fun indoor playroom with foosball table and ping pong table and more. The lady at the reception was beyond friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again.

I sent the following 2 times with no reply from management… I also went to the front desk with my concerns when each occurred…and was told “we sell snacks right over there…and there is a laundry facility 2 miles down the road…a gym and sauna can be accessed free of charge in Newport (miles away from Lincoln City)….and we always ask if guests need special accommodations! (We didn’t need SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS! we just needed an elevator! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “My friend and I just spent 6 nights. We stayed from July 18th - 24th. We stayed in room 533. While there, we could never access wi-fi from our room, the laundry room was closed the entire time, the snack machine was out of order during our entire stay, the ice machine went down. We could not access the Sauna or Gym rooms. To top it off, the elevators went down for a large portion of our stay on two (2) different occasions! We are in our 60’s and having to climb up and down the stairs to and from the 5th floor was ridiculous. Especially when we had grocieries, pop, etc…to try to carry up. We paid a lot of money to stay at your facility and I honestly believe we deserve a discounted rate of atleast 30% of what we paid and should be credited back to my card. While the room was great….the inconveniences really took its toll on us old women. Thank you, Paula

Our room slept 4 and that's how many people we had but they only provided enough towels for 3 people and it was very difficult to get more even after multiple requests. The pool had a scum ring and algae growing and there was only one floor where the ice machine was working and had ice

The room did not look like the pictures at all. The bed had a plastic mattress cover or something so it was incredibly loud any time we moved a muscle. Also very uncomfortable and old mattress. Old everything, very beige. There must be some remodeled rooms that look like the photos but we did not stay in one. The gas fireplace never fully turned off so our room was way too warm to sleep. Balcony tough to enjoy when covered in bird droppings and sliding glass door hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Not worth the price and not accurately advertised. Will not be staying again.

My experience overall was 3.5 stars, but there were ants in my room, and housekeeping was supposed to come clean them up and never came. Definitely wouldn’t use the coffee pots, they were all over the one in my room. Would be 4.5 without the ant issue.

The view is fabulous and the service was great. The kitchen sink is nice extra. Floor was filthy. It turned my kiddos feet black. Be aware there are no AC's in the rooms. Rooms could use some TLC.

Our 2 rooms were dirty, hair, trash, sand and dust ....i clean house for a living....this was bad 👎 towels had makeup still on them and some dried crust food or something was on our sheet. The place needs upgraded badly.

We have been staying at this hotel for many many years, but we are done now. The place going downhill. Biggest complaint this time was that the ocean view deck was entirely covered with pigeon poop and was unusable and disgusting. And the ocean view Glassdoor was so dirty you could not see through it. Also the heating system seem to be broken so you could not adjust the temperature. The front desk check-in person in the evening was completely unprofessional and seems like she didn't know how to deal with customers at all. Everything is looking sort of run down. I paid $540 for two nights and it was October so it was already off season, for this price I just expect the basics to be covered, but they were not. There are many many other hotels in the area, no reason to ever go back here again.

Room was a bit cold and the heater did not warm it properly , as it was a small wall heater. Oceanside windows were extremely dirty and ruined our view of the Pacific. Bed was uncomfortable. Room was not a value for the cost.

Our stay was adequate but a few improvements could make it better. The lighting by the table is very poor. A lamp on a side table would help that area tremendously. The television was not working. A maintenance worker came and fixed it but failed to tell us how to find local channels. A brochure would be very helpful. The chairs have no noise buffering pads on the bottom. Each time we moved a chair it created quite a noise. The noise was also irritating when the people upstairs moved their chairs.

Disappointed enough in our stay that I probably would not book again, but it wasn’t awful. The room was nice for the most part, nice decor, comfortable bed, overall pretty clean except a few small issues, had a mini fridge and microwave. Our biggest issue was I think there must have been little to no sound proofing between rooms and floors. We could hear when someone knocked on a neighbor rooms door, could hear the Tv from the next room and voices, and at 6 AM there was loud noise above us, sounded like a vacuum and furniture being moved. We liked there were amenities available, pool/ hot tub, it was great to be so close to beach with beach access, close to the store, coffee shops and restaurants and there was a great view. The general buildings, patios, and grounds seemed in need of quite a bit of updating, repair and upkeep.

The view is the best part of the room. That being said, the room is not in as nice of condition as the pictures portray. There is also not any AC in the hotel rooms, and the rooms can get very humid in the summertime. We were offered a tiny personal sized fan to help “cool” down our room. If regular sized fans were offered, that would help. The ice machines were also broken, and seemed to have been for quite a while. For the price, I would say you’re better to spend your money elsewhere. The view is spectacular, and the quick walk down to the beach is convenient, but the property and rooms need some serious attention, especially for the price.

The location is wonderful, can't beat the ocean front view and access. Our room however was ridiculous, the back door didn't lock, the screen door was broken, the phone didn't work, one of the beds was broken and therefore sunken and super uncomfortable, the plugs sparked when we plugged things in and our devices were heating up and then the cable was out as well. On the surface the room and property looked nice but the room was in shambles. When I went to the front desk they said I'd have to wait to talk to the manager in the morning. We were only staying one night so let it go at the time and just enjoyed the beach front view and access. Staff was friendly but they need to invest in some repairs. They also were charging $4 for candy in the lobby which was $2 in the vending machine 30 feet away.

Staff was nice, and it's a great location with beach access and beautiful views. But there is no AC, which I'm sure isn't usually a problem, but this was a warm weekend. We couldn't have the balcony door open because the screen door fell right off. And there seemed to be sand everywhere. I felt it on the beds and the big chair. I stayed here many years ago, and I enjoyed it then. But this time, I'm glad it was only one night, as the room was uncomfortably warm, I couldn't wait to get out. I would consider it again if the rooms are updated with adequate central air or screen doors.

The check in was a pretty easy process. The king room with a fireplace and ocean view was not what is pictured. The pic shows an updated room and that’s not what I got. The fireplace didn’t work and the WiFi was down for my stay. I opted to rent a dvd but my room didn’t have a dvd player and the front desk seemed annoyed that I would ask for one and then asked me if I was positive my room didn’t have one. The ocean view was the only great thing about this hotel. I come to Lincoln City often and will not be staying here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Surftides. The room was nicely remodeled and very clean. All the staff that we encountered during our stay were friendly and helpful. The only down side was the restaurant, Mist, was closed during a couple different times when we wanted to go to it. We were able to go the first night we were there and really enjoyed the food and service. The next day they were closed most of the day but we were told they would be open the next day. When we went the next day in the late morning they still weren't open. It was a bit of an inconvenience but the front desk person was very apologetic about the situation. Overall I would definitely recommend Surftides!!

This was the eorst trip ever. I reserved a room three weeks before my trip. When I checked in the lady asked me if I wanted a handicapped room I said no I reserved a regular king size room. She tried to put me in a handicapped room. She finally gave me a regular room after I got upset. We had no sugar in our room no creamer. We went back to the front desk to ask you would’ve thought we were asking for money. They do not give out pens or paper no Bibles. It is the most stale room I have ever been in nothing cozy or warm about it. They give you one towel one wash rag a piece you spend $240 on a room for one night give me a break quit being so greedy I will not be back.

I stayed a few months ago and had a wonderful time. The reason I'm writing this review so much later is because there was an employee that made my experience fantastic and basically saved my week. Thank you, Tony, for helping me get home! I went to put my bags away in my car before check out and noticed i couldn't open my car. I quickly realized my fab was out of battery and I wouldn't be able to start my car to get home. I figured that I would check myself out before I figure out what to do with my car. Enter Tony, I was obviously concerned when checking out and mentioned that I may not be able to move my car for awhile because I think my fab is dead. I didn't ask Tony for help but he dug a bit further, he asked what kind of battery it needed. While I checked what I needed he checked some other people out and talked to them like they were his best friends, next level support. I found the battery type, and he had it! I offered to buy him a coffee or a snack for the help, he rebutted and said, 'No need, I just hope you come stay with us again.' Because of Tony I got home and could continue my week as planned, he made it easy. This service is the kind or service that people remember. Please give this man a promotion. If you're reading this, Tony, I'm still using that battery and you're the best, thank you!

Great first floor room, but still with an amazing view of the ocean, will definitely be booking again, staff was amazingly friendly and incredible helpful with recommendations. Our rm was a one king bed, so comfy, was a pillow top and slept like a baby. Was able to keep the patio door open as it had a screen so could fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean. Had a microwave, fridge and a small kitchen sink with dish soap and towels to wash utensils or coffee cup when done. Loved this! Definitely will be back as we loved being able to get beach access super easily and want to tryout the pool area and game room next time. Room also had a fireplace, didn’t get cold enough at night to use, but very nice feature of the room.

Beautiful location, we booked a room right on the water. Charming throwback hotel, showing its age a little but the amenities made up for it - loved the pool and hot tub. Lincoln City didn't have a ton to offer but the hotel was comfortable and perfect for what we needed just passing through.

Had arrived early & was able to get checked in, which was awesome! The staff was AMAZING!! Lobby was very spacious, didn't utilize the fire pits, which are available through the front desk. Dined once at The Mist which is literally a 30 second walk from the hotel. Food was good, but will honestly say just a little overpriced, but that's expected for the convenience. Room with a patio with view of the ocean is why you're paying the price you do. Would I do it again?, probably not, but for the first time, it was worth it. Just sleeping at night with the sliding door open & the sounds of the waves, are a natural way to fall asleep!! Having a room with a gas fireplace was an added bonus. Beds were comfortable, mini fridge & an actual mini-freezer with microwave in rooms helps, since there's a Safeway about a 5 min. away. Couple mentions...When you're sitting out on the patio, your line of sight is exactly where the railing is :) And when there are people down below with fires going, it blows right into your room, so now your room smells like smoke!! And we were on the 3rd floor. Our screen was ripped in many spots, but didn't bother us. Didn't partake in the Pool, but did use the 'Game Room' for a bit & there were 3 Stand Up Video Games that were free: Mortal Kombat, NBA, & Galaga/Ms. Pac-Man with other games included. Also Foosball, Ping-Pong Table & shuffleboard. It was a very relaxing stay!

Was very disappointed with Mist. There was an ant in my drink, when i told the server, she didnt act surprised or apologize. The service took too long for the few people that were there dining. Wont be back to the restaurant. Love the hotel and staff.
