Nothing was shared that this property was been renovated. The pool was closed - no water; had to constantly walk around scaffolding; elevator took a very slow time to arrive and stairs were closed due to painting and wallpapering; the room door had to be pulled strongly (outside) or pushed hard (inside) to close - didn’t realize and door was open when we returned from supper the first night; very limited staff to answer questions; lost parking spaces due to construction meant cars parked behind others and couldn’t get out one morning; etc…

The property is impeccable! When I got here they were replacing the parking lot which was only a minor inconvenience. In the long run it will add more value to this already splendid property. The room was spotless and completely private adding to a most enjoyable stay

There was major remodeling going on during our stay. Pool not open, noises of the construction equipment, breakfast room with patio we liked to use over the first two days was closed and we had to move to a second floor temporary room. This was our 51 anniversary trip and if we knew about construction work ahead of time we would have selected a different place.

The property is undergoing a massive renovation at this time. The temporary changes they have made to accommodate for it are good. The room was very clean, stocked and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful in dealing with the temporary check-in and check-out location. Breakfast was as expected, but was well-tended and stocked. The shower door was installed incorrectly to prevent water from flooding the bathroom floor. It requires a little rigging to keep it from happening. My only real complaint was that the parking lot is not big enough to accommodate parking for the number of rooms in the hotel.

My family was in town for a family reunion and had 3 rooms. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The daily breakfast was very good and welcoming. My only issue is that I was there for 5 days and my room was never cleaned.

Not clean. Arrived to the toilet being dirty and water/sand on the floor. No toilet paper. Had to request it to be cleaned twice. Very disappointed. We have several trips to Charleston coming up and was hoping to stay again. Won’t be back.

The stay was amazing! Since we checked in, the front desk was so nice, handed us water and asked about my rewards to get Hilton points. The room was spotless and I am very picky when it comes to cleanliness. The room smelled clean, the sheets and pillows all smelled clean. I would definitely stay here again!

When we arrived we tried checking in and she said we had no reservation and was basically like “too bad so sad” and went back to her phone. Then I realized I made the reservation under my married last name and not my maiden name and she checked us in. We got to our room and the AC was blasting. It was freezing in there. The fridge was turned all the way down so all of our drinks went into a hot fridge - the remote to the tv was sticky with an unknown substance- the bathroom had hair EVERYWHERE. The microwave didn’t work. It smelled like marijuana in the hallways.

Carpet in room dirty. Carpet in lobby dirty. Sheets and towels not changed on a daily basis. Bed was made one day. Noise in hallway from others staying in hotel. No control over their children. Children running down hallway. I liked the breakfast. I would not stay in the Hampton Inn in West Ashley again.

The air conditioner rattled so loudly we had to push the chair against it to keep it somewhat quiet. The air was set at 61 when we entered the room and it took a while to warm up. What a waste.

The furniture is terrible. Its so old it has rips in the chairs and the couch was very uncomfortable to even sit on. The tub had the finish coming off of it. I was surprised to find the room so clean with how outdated the furniture, bath, sink, cabinets, doors were.

We like staying at Hampton Inn because of the large rooms and big beds. Breakfast is always good. On our first night there was recorded music coming from outside the room all night (from the pool area??). Not a fan of the music in the lobby either. We stayed 4 nights and the room was serviced only once.

Stayed for 2 nights to attend a wedding. The hotwlbwas super clean, very comfortable and convenient to so much! The staff at check in were amazing and anyone i spoke to was more than helpful. I did not eat breakfast but did stop and grab a muffin, but it looked to be a nice assortment of food and drinks. Definitely would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

- We said "good morning" to the lady in reception on the morning of check out. Answer: "Checking out?" - We asked if we could have 30 minutes late check out. Answer: "NO, we are full" We've normally enjoyed staying at Hampton Inns, and accepted to pay a certain premium price for that. But after this visit, we will try another hotel chain next time, I know that there are other very good ones,, more modern, out there to a lower or similar price.

Staff did not mention you had to ask for room to be cleaned. We were moving our daughter into an apartment so we were out early and in late. No one at counter to talk with. I called at 9 am to ask for room to be cleaned and told they must be informed by 8 am. Also parking was limited and we were boxed in by 2 cars illegally parked. Hotel would do nothing to find out owners and have moved. Refused to get them towed and didn’t care we were unable to get car out of spot We had to leave car which was completely unacceptable. Desk staff didn’t care about helping at all

Very poor customer service. No one was at the front desk for several minutes when we were trying to check in. One patron even went behind the desk into the office looking for a person to check us all in. I told the desk attendant that my husband would be there the next morning and to please have a key for him. He wrote my husband’s name down and said it would not be a problem. Of course, I was not there when my husband arrived and they wouldn’t let him in, stating that there were no notes saying he was allowed. Finally, the linens smelled like they had been left in the wash too long before they were dried. Will not stay here again.

The staff was the absolute best! I’ve been in the customer industry for 23 years now, and I felt so welcomed. Staff was genuine, pleasant, and incredibly helpful. I look forward to staying there again. To my surprise they had biscuits and gravy as one of the many options for breakfast! Bed was very comfortable, the room was great!

We had a wonderful stay! Loved the breakfast, it was different every morning. Coffee available always! All the staff was so friendly, rooms were clean! Janelle working the weekend breakfast was so nice, genuinely loved her job! She made sure everything was clean and the food was fresh. Would recommend highly

Overall, the experience was great. Saturday AM, we came out for breakfast around 9:10. Everything had been picked through. When anyone mentioned it to staff, she said breakfast was closing in 10 minutes, so nothing would be re-stocked. Breakfast is listed to end at 10am. Easy check in, the digital key is great, and it's easy to get to downtown Charleston. I'll probably return...
