We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We loved our spacious room which had a large balcony that provided views of the water, boats and marsh. The outside patio area had lots of seating with gorgeous views of the water and marina to enjoy during the day or at night. The food was good in the restaurant and the staff was helpful. The hotel shuttle was very convenient!

Such a great lobby and courtyard area. We loved all hanging there together. There were 14 of us and we all had a great stay! The left elevator was broken for 2 days, which was inconvenient, but not awful. They got it fixed and it was great!

Beautiful hotel with all necessary amenities. Bistro/Starbucks in lobby. View over looking pool/river is gorgeous. Free shuttle to waterfront and back every half hour. Definitely pleased with my stay!

Not what I expect from a Marriot. Steps up to reception from ground level were flooded 2 days after rain, they could easily been quickly mopped dry. Lifts were slow and my room 202 was directly over a large bank of air con fans and sounded like a helicopter was permanently running outside.

Hotel is close to Citadel, which is main reason why we were there. They also have a free shuttle to downtown Charleston, which runs every half hour. Super convenient. Beautiful views of river and marina. Beautiful large lobby area and outside area. Rooms are large and very clean.

Great location, 20/25 min walk to downtown or use the free shuttle from the hotel which is a great service and runs every 30 mins. We used it a lot. Lovely hotel, very nicely laid out. Lovely courtyard and pool area, lots of space. Rooms very comfortable. Very clean. Has everything you need. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the front deal people weren’t friendly or welcoming. They weren’t rude and they were efficient BUT not a greeting nor a smile at any point from checking in to whenever I approached the desk. They wouldn’t stop me from staying again though . Great hotel and will return when in the area. We were going to a concert at credit one stadium - 20 min easy drive

This place is run down and in need of a redo. The $$$ they charge for the rooms is way too high. The hallways are dirty and have an awful smell. We won’t be staying here again.

Overall we had a ok experience at this hotel however it was marred by the fact that we spotted a few palmetto bugs in our room late the night before as well as the day of checkout - when I reported this to front desk during checkout they just kind of shrugged and said “we’re doing renovations”. Otherwise, parking was easy, location was good, breakfast was good.

Hallway carpet is so dirty looking. Rooms were pretty clean. Bathrooms were dated. First night there when air conditioner went on in middle of the night the room smelled VERY musty. Staff was Amazing!!! So friendly and cheerful.

Mold on the 4th floor ceiling that was visible, room smelled like mold, had dried blood on sheets and AC Brooke several times and needed to be repaired. When told about the mold I was told “well mold is technically everywhere” Would not recommend, very dissatisfied with my stay, not worth it unless you want to pay full price for moldy rooms and and broken AC

The room was large and very clean. It had a nice bar area to spread out our belongings (food/toiletries/etc). The balcony was large with rocking chairs and a nice view. The pool and surrounding area were very clean and had great views of the marina and surrounding areas. They also provided a free shuttle servto the water front park area although you can also walk into the downtown area from sidewalks that run the entire way. Good place to stay for the price and proximity to downtown Charleston

Wonderful Hotel! However, I booked this room because it advertised a river view. My view of the river was only possible if I stood at the left end of the sliding door or balcony. This room should not be marketed as having a river view. My view was of the swimming pool and the motel across the road. Very disappointed in that regard. Thank you

Looks good online but seems like a very old building with poor air conditioning in the humid heat of the summer. Arrived late at night to a room that was 80 degrees. Staff just changed the dirty old air conditioning unit in the room to stay on high all night which helped a little but looked as if it hadn't been cleaned or serviced in years.

I booked through Expedia, so when I arrived, and there was a problem with the room I booked there was no way to reduce the price of my stay when I had payed an extra $50 for a corner room with a water view. The girl behind the counter was super helpful and courteous. The manager managed to get us a similar room, but still a cheaper room. He was not as courteous, but he was still very helpful. The girl that was helping us also gave us two complementary drink coupons. The room itself was clean and beautiful, and the view was extraordinary. All in all I paid an extra $50 for Room I did not get because it had a door lock issue that they new about before my arrival at 6pm which is unacceptable.That’s why I did not give this hotel five stars.

After driving for hours, had to wait almost two hours for check in. At 5:45 finally got our room and had to rush to our event that started at 7:30. Only to return to the room where the a/c was set to 68 but if felt like 78. I’ve stayed here several times in the past and really enjoyed it. But its definitely changed.

Front desk staff were awesome and got us checked in early, quick and easy. I forgot to tell them ahead of time that we needed a “pack n play” or crib and they took care of it with no additional charge. Nice location by the water and marina, obviously can’t walk downtown but they have a great shuttle service that picks up at the hotel every half hour! Big room with everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again!

I booked this location just to find out upon arrival to the front desk that there were no available rooms. Instead of being helpful, the front desk attendant was very curt and dismissive. At other Marriott locations, staff have always been very attentive and pleasant to deal with even when things aren't going right. Kelsea was the front desk attendant that really gave a bad attitude to the location. Being front desk is your first impression of the hotel. I'm local and work at MUSC, sending many vendors to this hotel to stay in the past and will be considering other locations for the future based on this experience. Jeremy was the manager at the time of this issue and did not come out either to assist or explain the situation. From both individuals, I was extremely disappointed in the lack of empathy, helpfulness, or general welcoming attitude and will thus be sending business elsewhere. In the future, I would suggest if this happens, to have management come and explain the situation in a polite manner, or at the bare minimum have the front desk attendant be more pleasant and empathetic to deal with.

The property, including the room, was absolutely fantastic! The staff were nothing but helpful and kind. Marriah and the other shuttle drivers were incredible. Did I mention they have a FREE shuttle to downtown and back every half hour?! One of the best hotels I have ever been to! Highly recommend!

Great view from the hotel, about a 40 minute walk to the market. Shuttle is a great service, drops off at the waterpark. If central location is what you want, not the spot. If a great hotel that is quiet is what you are looking for, here it is.

Food options were excellent (small market for snacks and counter-order restaurant for bigger things). My omelet was delivered to me by the chef and was absolutely delicious. The beds were very comfortable. Normally I awake in the morning on a hotel bed with an aching back. Not this time. A great night's sleep was had by all!

The waterfront location is breathtaking. Beautiful pool right on the water. Lots of seating available on the deck overlooking the pool and ocean. The room was pristine. We had dinner and dessert in the Bistro and the food was exceptional. We didn’t expect it to be so good — you order at the counter and they bring your food to you — but it was sooo good. Staff was exceptional. Attentive, funny, warm. This is an overall gem. We would stay there again. Also — has a free shuttle to historic Charleston

My/our stay was most enjoyable. However, the hotels.com site listed a concierge, a tour desk, a gift shop and a bar and restaurant.This was not valid. And the bar and restaurant did not suffice as a traditional clearly defined dining and drinking establishment.

Great property with shuttle service into downtown Charleston. The room was clean and the service was great. Nice little bistro that served great burgers/food and cocktails. My only complaint was that it was so cold. The common areas and our room. We had a tile floor and it was so cold to walk on. The weather was unusually cold for the area with freeze warnings, so I'm sure this isn't normally the case. Would come back again~

location for what we where there to visit in Charleston was good. Courtyard snack bar behind the front desk should be upgraded. Bistro menu, food , service should be upgraded stay at current prices. Ridiculous to pay $32.00 for a full caesar salad and $6.00 for a prewrapped chocolate chip cookie. Just ridiculous. Parking should be $5-$7.00 per day based on how busy hotel is and having to park covered or uncovered parking.
