Great location for access to downtown Charleston and the College of Charleston. Unique round hotel with plenty of parking and great views. Restaurant on the top floor has amazing views!

Everything was great stafff was top notch only downside was pool not open and the ev charger was tesla only but other than that excellent.

Beautiful view from every room and convenient location… everything in the Charleston area is within 20 minutes drive. Shuttle provided if you prefer. Restaurant is the draw on the 15th floor and parking is full in the evening as a result. Price is the best in the area for what you receive. Unfortunately, it is a dated hotel and not always well covered up. Pool and fitness area show their age and the rooms lack detail. This was probably amazing 30 years ago, now it’s ok. Biggest problem is the location. Leaving the hotel is dangerous at all hours due to a very short on-ramp the merges to a left lane at 55-85mph… foliage is not trimmed to help so your merge is a little over 50 yards if you’re driving a truck and have decent vision. Would not return.

I liked dining near the top floor with great views of Ashley River and Charleston from the restaurant and my room ( limited).Pool ladders were difficult for seniors to exit the pool with!

This is a convenient location to downtown and right next door to a good quality Waffle House. The hotel itself is fairly nice and clean overall but could use some updates. The parking lot lighting is poor as only one or two light poles were functioning. It would be nice if they could repair the rest to ensure the lot is well lit for safety and vehicle security. We went in the offseason so the pool was closed so unable to comment on that amenity. Overall I would return.

Convenient to dwtn Charleston & the hotel shuttle was an added plus; comfy bed with nice linens. Great view of the Harbor~ esp in the evening for happy hour! Would stay here again ;)

An older hotel but nicely maintained except the pool. Pool deck and drains not cleaned the three days we were there. Lift chair doesn’t work but no out if order sign. Water was murky with a green tinge.

The pool was out of order. They didnt want to get me a discount or free stay or a meal at the bar. I drove 5hrs with my family thinking will can get in the poole here for our stay

Out of two elevators only one worked

I stayed a week earlier and one of the elevators was in operative. On this trip the elevator was still in operative. I realize it’s a minor inconvenience but still having two elevators speeds up the process of getting into your room.

Clean room, comfortable bed, plenty of towels, good selection of TV channels. Great view

Staff was great, hotel room flooded from water coming in from the walls during the rain. This happened to multiple people and manager said it happens sometimes. All the drains were rusted, bathrooms need an upgrade for sure. Had to switch rooms at midnight due to the flooding. Second room was a little better but still had rusted towel bars and drains. Food was expensive for being just okay. I would NOT stay here ever again, not sure how it had 4 stars but it’s a 2 at best

This property has bed bugs in room 515. We have stayed there three years in a room and this is the first time I have had a problem. The staff compensated but there is a lot of decon that has to be done once home after a bedbug exposure.

Our Kurig didn’t work they were supposed to bring us a new one but it never got there. Morning 2 went to make coffee. Couldn’t. Floor in room was dirty and sticky. We stayed 2 nights. Never got fresh towels or sheets. Expensive stay. Expected better. Had recently been to the holiday Inn in Orlando . It was a bigger bathroom and clean facility. The windows in the room were so dirty I couldn’t take any pictures of the river which was why I cancelled the other hotel for this one at twice the price. Very disappointing

Room was gross, mold, stain on sheets. Moved rooms but my husband had to kill a roach in the bathroom during the night.

Pictures show a better place, compared to what it is. Not too clean.

Looks nice in pictures but feels dirty pretty sure there's mold there were lots of moisture patches around the room.

Dead trees, dirty walkways

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The overall appearance and condition on the hotel was grimy. Everything looks and smells dirty. Our room had stains on the walls and the floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped in a very long time.

Staff was great and very friendly! Hotel was older than it shows online. You can see it in the exterior of the building and interior of the rooms. Lots of patch work and rust. Definitely needs work. Traffic can be heard at all hours. Had to drop the ac super low to keep it on to drown out the traffic noise. Also could hear neighbors in the next room just talking and that made me super uncomfortable. Parking lot retains a ton of water when it rains making you walk through several inches of water just to get inside. Will not be returning.

Was under the impression that room had balcony with a view and then when we get in the room you cannot open the balcony door to go on it. Hotel needs a lot of updates in my opinion for what I paid to stay and I could have went to a newer hotel for same price.

The view from our room was gorgeous. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Our room however was kind of smaller than we expected or what the pictures on the website portrayed. Very convenient location for us and our itinerary we had planned out for the week.

The light from the parking lot shown through our window so strongly that even when closing the curtains, the lights spread through the room The upstairs dining facility has come a great long way since the first time we’ve stayed here but they still need assistance. They offered a special of grilled shrimp for $17 but nothing came with it but the grilled shrimp. We were asked to sit in the area of the bar to accommodate the servers that were available. We did not mind that however the guests in the area of the bar we’re so loud that it made feeling comfortable having dinner there exceptionally difficult.

The room looked like it hadn’t been mopped. Our room was beside the workout room and it was a 24 hour workout room. Very loud! The view from the rooftop bar is beautiful!

Location, staff, and shuttle downtown was great. Room was clean but bathroom could use an update. Main downside was the sound of the traffic was really loud and we were on the 12th floor.

Every staff member we came in contact with was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The area which I think the hotel could improve on is the amount of outside noise coming in the room. It would seem that the glass is not thick enough or the seal around the sliding glass door is not strong enough to dampen some of the traffic noise. The noise level from the traffic was loud and I had a hard time falling asleep.

This is an older hotel and you can tell. But it has views that are second to none. The rooms are comfortable and quit and very reasonable. Breakfast buffet was mediocre and typical of hotel food. Bar could stay open a little later ( closed at 9). Had a few cocktails which were good. Not hotels fault but many guests were typical conservative SC crowd complaining too much about democrats, without awareness that others around them may not agree or appreciate. Overall though a nice place where I'd stay again.

The staff was SUPER helpful and changed our room when the shower was leaking under floor...they helped with any questions we had. It was a fairly painless experience lol <3

Pretty hotel, nice view from restaurant, clean rooms. Check in representative very nice. Check out the rep couldn't be bothered to look at me, say thank you, was engaged listening to a conversation between 2 other reps behind desk. Just handed me receipt w/o looking at me.

The front desk staff was excellent. Housekeeping was a little lax with providing toilet paper when the roll was very low as well as providing clean towels. One shuttle driver, Thomas, was very rude and came 10 minutes early on the last run of the night (scheduled for 10:45 PM). He was confrontational when questioned about his early arrival and seemed to be departing early. I asked him to wait for my wife as she was making her way to the shuttle at the scheduled departure time of 10:45 PM. He reluctantly waited while staring me down. It was not a pleasant experience. All the other drivers were very respectful and courteous.

Front desk agents and housekeeping were very polite, professional, and accommodating. I am a local to Charleston and always choose this establishment for my staycations.

This property is convenient and clean with shuttle service to the main drag in the historic district. The bed was super comfortable too. We did eat breakfast in the restaurant one day and it was ok, not great. Still, it is nice to have a restaurant on premises if you are tired. Staff was all very nice and helpful. The pool was closed but I am sure if one visits during the hot time of year they would enjoy it.

I had a wonderful time at the Holiday Inn. The staff in particular were exemplary and how they helped make it a comfortable stay. The location is excellent.

We stayed 2 nights. We arrived very late 1st night and found an uncomfortable bed. The next day they switched us to a new room with no hassle. Slept great night 2. But there were a lot of other little inconveniences. For example, only one of two elevators were working. The ice machine on my floor was out, and they were sending everyone to floor 9 for ice, but elevators were hard to catch. Both mornings they were out of coffee, and we had to tell them because they don’t monitor it. Then there is the courtesy shuttle. I’m going to be honest and say we only felt comfortable staying at this location because they had the courtesy shuttle. Their own instructions say the shuttle leaves the hotel at ever half-past the hour. It picks up In the historic district at every three-quarters past the hour. It does say the shuttle may run a little late. It does NOT say that they may show up really early and leave your ass there, but that is what happened. We got off a sunset harbor cruise At 9:17. It was a 20 minute walk to the shuttle stop. We arrived right around 9:40. There was another couple there waiting. And we waited and waited. I called and was told they would come out around 10:30, since we were not there when the shuttle came at 9:30. We argued about the instructions they provided. It was already 10:15, so we waited. The guy showed up at 10:37, loaded all of us in less than 30 seconds, and he took off instead of waiting for 10:45. So wrong!

The staff was phenomenal, the rooms need a renovation but the professionalism from staff made up for it. The one elevator working didn’t even bother me because staff was so accommodating.

We got off our cruise early and went straight to the hotel to drop off our luggage. The front desk staff were amazing. They let us keep our luggage in their back office until the room was ready. I did use the restroom in the front lobby and I thought it was beautiful and very clean. We were going to spend some time on Market St. and have lunch. We're about to request a Lyft when the front desk informed us that they have a shuttle that would take us there. This was an unexpected perk that made us happy. The shuttle driver dropped us off and said that he would be there to pick us up at quarter to the hour every hour from 9:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m. After we had lunch we got a phone call that our room was ready and we returned back. After getting our luggage and our room card we went up to the 14th floor. We were staying in a king suite with a view. Upon opening the door my mouth dropped open. This was a huge and beautiful room. So nicely decorated and very comfortable. We could not wait to take a nap in the giant bed with the pillow top. It was so comfortable that we almost missed our 7:30 p.m. Ghost tour. Front desk people in the afternoon and evening were just amazing. The gentleman who checked us out at 4:30 in the morning was hilarious and in great spirits for that early in the morning. We cannot wait to come back to Charleston and stay here. Why pay top dollar to stay in downtown when you can stay here and get more bag for your buck not to mention free shuttle rides.

I did like this property. It's close to downtown by car, and they do have shuttles going to convenient locations. The staff really went above and beyond during a power outage at the property. Every one was incredibly friendly. It's in kind of an odd location, literally in the middle of route 17. To leave, you have to make a fairly dangerous turn into very fast traffic. Room was fine, and clean, with a nice view.

Nice location for access to Charleston medical and Historic Districts. Excellent breakfast and dinner options. Very large portions from the dinner menu.

Nice hotel but it’s starting to show its age. Traffic noise was constant but this place is located in between the roads. View was beautiful! The restaurant was nice and convenient and also had the best view.

Location is very awkward - if you don't have personal access to a vehicle it is hard to get to and from downtown Charleston, even with hotel shuttle. On that note, the hotel shuttle does not go to the airport. Your room might have a lovely view of the river...or the scenic Waffle House. Seems like the room might have suffered some damage in the recent hurricanes, as there were water stains on the ceiling and carpet. Staff were all fantastic and very helpful.

Pretty outdated property. Doors were hard to open into the room, and into the bathroom. You can just tell the property is old and outdated. Halls smelled like cigarettes. But, the view was nice and the staff was excellent. About a 2 min drive to Charleston.

I was under the impression it was within walking distance of downtown, it wasn’t. I also got there very late after travel and there was no food close by except Waffle House. That said only a 5/10 min uber ride from downtown. The hotel room was huge and really nice. And the staff was very very nice and helpful.

The view, the location, for the price is great, right out of downtown, a mile from james island, several beaches close, shopping was close, many restaurants within short driving distance, wont find another place with the view from the top restaurant.

It was dangerous to exit the hotel. The exit should be further away from fast merging traffic.

100% recommend this hotel. It is an older hotel, though it is well maintained. The shared areas such as the elevators and hallways need some work but the room was beautiful and the view was absolutely amazing! We went to a show a mile from the hotel, which is why we pick this place and will definitely be staying here again. We ate breakfast at the rooftop restaurant. Food was okay but the view is perfect to enjoy coffee and a quick bite. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend.

This hotel is comparable to other hotels in its price category. The room was quite adequate, with a good, working AC and multiple types of pillows on the bed. Many rooms would have great views of the river/city, but mine looked into the pool equipment. The restaurant up top has a great view. The breakfast buffet, for $17, is only marginally better than what you get for free at other chain hotels. Actually my biggest issue here is the difficulty of departing in the morning. The hotel is essentially in the median of a freeway with a steady stream of high speed traffic whipping around a blind curve.

The restaurant prices were ridiculously high, and the only working ice machine was on the 3rd floor. I was on the 7th. That was not fun. But everything else was good!

One elevator for 14 floors, unattractive, dated lobby and rooms, horrid restaurant and bar.it stays Open until 9:00, but you\'re greeted at 8:30 with the notice that they close and go home at 9:00 so you will need to get $15 drinks in a go cup and any food will be put in a carry out bag. This is a very old, non updated building and the restaurant view is the only plus, but their " hospitality " is off the charts low! Breakfast is $15, I suggest you spend a little more and get a good room elsewhere. If you get a free breakfast, it will more than pay the difference! Also, I am happy to say we did not have bed bugs, but we had laundered ones on the bed pad and on a towel.

A little outdated for the price. Also the upstairs restaurant was severely understaffed on a Saturday night. The staff was all friendly but clearly unable to manage the volume of guests

Loved the view from the room and the restaurant. Breakfast buffet was nice and dinners I had there were good. Room was clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and it was a 5 minute drive to historic Charleston. The hotel also offered hourly drop offs and pick ups in the center of the historic district. Only negative was that there was only one elevator working the entire week i was there. At busy times you could have a wait and sometimes have to wait for it to come back if it was full.

Comfy beds, shuttle to downtown was nice. Upstairs restaurant smelled like body odor so bad we couldn’t even stay for a quick drink .

Staff went above and beyond, they are so friendly and were very kind to my kids. Snacks and local beers for purchase, large mini fridge in room, absolutely incredible views of the marsh and Ashley River. We watched an egret fishing for breakfast when we woke up. Saw a wood stork flying south! Breakfast buffet is crisp bacon city with breathtaking views from restaurant/bar and free for kids currently. Don’t sleep either on the chocolate chip waffles at the Waffle House that is a short walk away. Great convenient alternative to downtown with proximity to Folly, Earth Fare, upper King etc.
