The building was under construction but it wasn’t a huge deal other than not being able to take the stairs. The A/C in the bedroom did not work great- it didn’t have an option to have both constant fan and the A/C running, so if you wanted the fan on full time, it was just the fan and no A/C. Otherwise a nice place, big room. Would stay here again

This property was horrible! The fire alarm went off at 1am and again at 4:30 am. They knew they had a problem with the alarms and failed to to let us know.

I like the fact that they had washers and dryers for use without a charge. I also like that there was a full sized refrigerator and a hot top to cook food even though one tap didn’t work. Nor did the trash compactor in the sink. The bathroom was roomy as well.

The room was clean and spacious, yet cozy. Staff were friendly and you can't pass up on the fresh popcorn provided daily in the lobby. Will definitely stay again anytime I travel to Richmond.

The Olive Garden may have the Slogan "We Treat You Like Family" but Candlewood Suites in Richmond, Va. should have: When You Stay With Us, You Are Family!! After coming off the road from heavy rain, dense fog, delays due to accidents and a very frustrating experience at another hotel several miles away, we instantly felt like family with Melissa. She not only made us feel like everything was going to be okay but I had the most fun checking in and we created memories that I'm still laughing about back home hours away. She was the BEST and we were definitely meant to stay at Candlewood Suites in Richmond because it will be the forever stop if tired when traveling at that point or just to go inside and see Melissa. The room plan is so well thought out and cozy. The bed and pillows provided an awesome night's sleep, the shower felt amazing (want that exact shower head now), desk chair and chair in front of the television were extremely comfortable and having the kitchen area included with a washer and dryer across from the room felt like we had our own little apartment. We loved it! The manager, George, is so welcoming and genuinely concerned about guests enjoying their stays - if you check-in with Melissa and meet George, you definitely will want to come back. A photo is attached of our new family member, Melissa. Book your overnight stops here or stay longer and use the kitchen, washer, dryer and enjoy the delicious coffee in the lobby as well.

Two nights straight the fire alarm went off total of times. When I approached the hotel desk to request some sort of discount for keeping me up two nights straight, I got nasty attitudes. I have to escalate this with my credit card company and also contact IHG corporate.

I've never stayed at a cleaner hotel before, the room and common areas were spotless. My friend and I loved our room, especially the kitchnette, it was very helpful to have while traveling. The front desk staff were very helpful, responsiveness, and courteous. For the price, I'd highly recommend this hotel, we will definitely be staying again.

The hotel had a musty smell throughout. There were stains on sheets and water stains on the ceiling of the room. Service was fine, but was not happy with the smell and lack of cleanliness. Wouldn’t recommend.

Broken air conditioner (fell of the wall), mold, condoms left in the elevator, bad smell throughout. Would NEVER bring my family back to this place. Ever. Avoid at all costs.

It was perfect for our one night stay! Very clean, had no problems. Just thin walls cause you can definitely hear the tv next door and conversations in the hall. But other then that we enjoyed it!

When booking an extended stay type of property, I would expect there to be at least some cookware. This hotel had EVERYTHING: dishes, utensils, cookware, toaster, coffee maker, measuring cup, colander, Tupperware - in addition to the stovetop and dishwasher. It was AWESOME. The bed was very comfortable, as was the seating in the room. I liked the various lighting options. There was a glass shower instead of a tub, which I heavily prefer, and everything was clean. There was also liquid hand soap in the bathroom, which I also prefer - soap bars are a little sad and I wish more hotels would move to liquid soap. Nice clean flooring and a huge closet, and a trash can that was bigger than the usual thimble hotels give you. This place was ABSOLUTELY worth the money (and it was inexpensive)!

*. Internet was spotty. Couldn’t do a majority of my work due to internet issues. * Phone in my room didn’t work which wouldn’t have been a problem but I left my phone at my event - which left me unable to communicate w/broken phone & spotty internet. *. Air Conditioner in room was inoperable. Reported it in the morning, it was fixed but there was confusion between the wall thermostat unit under the window. It was a dance between the two.

Very Nice Space, Bed was comfy and the pull out couch was suprisinly comfy as well. The restraunent next door was good and it's in a great spot for the Convention Center. Front Desk service was prompt and professional. 10/10 will be staying here for my next convention in Richmond.

We chose this place in a pinch. I needed a full kitchen and king bed and they had both. The room is small. No breakfast, no sofa, nightstand on one side only. No table to sit at for meals. Seems odd with a full kitchen and plates and you have to sit on the bed to eat. Luckily, brought my baby's bathtub, because there was no tub and both sinks are small. Also, after walking barefooted the bottom of my feet were black. I guess they figure gray floors don't need mopping. The channel guide on the TV did not work either. Staff was very accommodating as we needed to stay another night and we were able to keep our same room. The bed and pillows were super comfy. The kitchenette is fully stocked with everything you need. Served it's purpose.

the staff is HORRIBLE!!! if you have children please don’t stay here , my kids and i were KICKED out this hotel because of “noise “ however it’s 12pm … there should be a 10 grace period… however we was here for a week! EVERYDAY there’s an issue with the staff … you put a do not disturb sign on the door the housekeeping staff STILL bothers you !! the manager of this property is rude and heartless!! after kicking us out they kept coming to the door mind you i had 4 charts full of belongings no car nor a home to stay .. however i had money to pay for my children and i too have a safe place to stay until our apartment is ready !! yesterday 7/7/2025 was the most stressful day i’ve had in a long time … however as i said before don’t stay here if you have young children.. this definitely isn’t the place for you!!!

Greeted by GM, he helped me with my luggage and even got me a cup of coffee before escorting me, still assisting me with my luggage, to my room. Very nice room, awesome bed and really clean. Excellent experience!

Great stay, i highly recommend this hotel. The location is good if you're traveling. It's very close to the i95 highway. It's very clean and comfortable. I'll stay there again when I visit Richmond. Thank you again for your hospitality.

My suite was very nice. It was well maintained, clean and included everything I could possibly ask for. The room remained very cool despite the extremely hot weather at the time of my trip. The common areas and outside of the hotel leave much to be desired, but inside it's good.

The room was decent but somethings need improvement. My door was hard to open and coffee pot/silverware was kinda dirty. Website said there will be breakfast and it wasn't and a deposit was required but not mentioned on Website

The hotel met my needs for the stay. It was helpful to have a full fridge, stovetop, and microwave. I would have liked to have my room cleaned. I didn't realize that I would have had to have asked for that service.
