We were disappointed in this hotel. Our room was very hot when we checked in and the air conditioner didnt keep the room cool. Our bathtub had a huge crack in the bottom that had been repaired with tape that was slippery when wet. There was no support under the tub so you were afraid it would crack again. Breakfast was below the standard we have experienced at other hotels. Only fruit was apples that didnt look very fresh. Eggs were very watery and had little flavor. Pancake machine produced very gummy pancakes. The elevator was extremely slow. We would not stay here again.

Nice lobby/breakfast area. Clean room, comfy bed. Pool area was very nice but hot tub could have been hotter for sure. Breakfast was really good. Convenient location for us.

Stayed for 3 nights, very quiet location with ample parking. The complementary breakfast was better than most & good coffee. The pancake machine is unique and makes good pancakes. The indoor pool and jacuzzi are also a nice touch.

Spacious room, helpful staff, sufficient breakfast facilities, clean swimming pool. Would have liked a little more equipped fitness center.

The location of Hill City was very convenient as all the sights are just a short drive in any direction. The hotel itself is back off the road a bit so we couldn’t hear a lot of road noise. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable enough as far as hotel beds go. The pool and hot tub were clean. Literally the only complaint we have is that there was no USB charging ports in the room so we had to go buy a block as all we brought with us were USBC. Very minor deal but was surprising as every hotel we’ve stayed at in recent memory has had charging ports in the lamps.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. The hotel was comfortable and clean, staff were friendly, and it had a great breakfast. Our only complaint was the pool area was very small. It got so crowded that we had to leave.The parking area was tight too. If you came in late, you had minimum options for parking. We loved staying in this area. Hill city is a great middle ground area to all the sights. It’s charming, walkable, has great dining options, and a grocery store too. Definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a king suite that was comfortable, and clean. Staff was Friendly. Gym was small but adequate.

We looked long and hard to find a hotel with largely good reviews that was centrally located for our 5 day stay in the area, this one seemed to fit the bill. In almost all ways it is a very nice place, the staff is very friendly and professional, the grounds and rooms are up to date and nice, the breakfast is good and generous. The only issue we had and it really did bother us is that apparently during the check in process in some manner they tell you that housekeeping is only done if you request it, i dont know if they say that so many many times a day that it isnt given much emphasis or that most visitors only stay 1 or 2 nights but i never never recalled it as part of the conversation, there is however a note in your room that says you will get new towels every 3rd day. Our 3rd day came and passed and no new towels, on the 4th day we had to request them and though we though it odd we didnt say anything about the lack of housekeeping because we thought certainly they would do it that day...alas they did not. On the morning of check out i politely but sternly expressed my dismay to the desk staff and they said they told me when i checked in that it was only done on request [i have my doubts]....i will only say this about that, this was a generally nice hotel but that is the worst policy i have ever seen in any hotel i have been in for a stay of that length, trash cans overflowing, dirty towels heaped on the floor. They did not represent their franchise in a good light

When we walked into the lobby, a woman greeted us very well. Her coworker was on his phone and didn't even look up. The walls are very thin, we heard everything. We booked late and received a handicap accessible room. The grout in the bathroom needs some attention. Some of the furniture needs to be replaced. Two things that were great, the breakfast and the fact that everything was clean.

Very impressed with the upkeep and cleanliness of the hotel.

The room smelled really musty like there had been water problems that were unresolved. We left and found another place to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here in June of 2024. It was very clea and comfortable, and the staff were very polite and helpful. There are numerous restaurants and shops within walking distance with a quaint small town atmosphere. The location is great for the area attractions and nestled in a beautiful area of the Black Hills. We would definitely stay there again!

Older hotel that needs to upgrade their dirty and dingy carpet throughout the hotel and also replacing their worn out wallpaper which was peeling.

The rooms are larger than normal, room for storing bicycles and other gear. Great breakfast included.

Positives: convenient location, clean, friendly staff, suite is roomy, fridge/micro/coffee. plenty of outlets, parking and outside door entry options. Needs improvement: towel quality, breakfast temperature, room furniture update. Bring your own HDMI cable or watch blurry tv. Not the staff's fault, but marijuana smoke in the hallway crept under the door. Incredibly strong. Stayed here in June and the room was nicer, so there is a difference.

The hotel room was wonderful, clean & well stocked. I had a complaint immediately due to the room smelling like cigarette smoke. I reported it to the front desk immediately so they knew it wasn’t us since I have asthma and cannot smoke as well as never have smoked. A major complaint I have is the room above us took a shower at 5:45 and it sounded like it was in our bathroom as the noise was so loud. I would suggest stronger insulation between floors on your next build.

The pancake machine subpar, no waffle maker, worst yogurt ever, sausage overly salty, biscuits OK, apples only no selection of fruit - basically extremely industrial food. Not enough seating in the breakfast area, overflow in lobby and still not enough seating. Ended up going out for breakfast the majority of the time.

Mario who worked the desk, along with the remainder were just phenomenal. They were willing to go above and beyond in assisting to make sure our stay was great The breakfast was a breakfast, not just bread and cereal.

Plenty of parking, but text at 7am asking about my stay felt like they were trying to rush us out of the room. Great breakfast

Our luggage was lost with the United Airlines and the staff let us know as soon as it arrived. It arrived and called us and let us know.

Arrived late at night and everything was in order: clean rooms ready, good exterior lighting, and safe parking. Breakfast was busy, but well stocked. Easy and close access to Mount Rushmore.

If you are staying in Hill City, this place is perfect. The location is walkable to anything in town and right next to the 1880 train depot. It is modern and clean and the breakfast was excellent. The staff was cordial and informative.

Nice room, quiet and spacious. Large TV, good breakfast and convenient location close to Custer State Park and other major attractions.

Free continental breakfast was not what we preferred but the hotel was clean and staff was friendly and helpful

We are always satisfied with Americinn properties. The only downside is the breakfast area is too small for the volume here it is always jam packed

Amenities lacking. If you come to breakfast at 9 almost no food left. They allow you to eat until 9:30. Minimal amount of milk and yogurt available, no fresh fruit

Overall, we were both pleased with this property; however, there were two areas we found could use improvement. First, the complementary breakfast was very unsatisfactory in our opinion. First, the scrambled eggs were about as tasteless as I’ve ever experienced. For toast they didn’t offer bagels, as with most breakfast options, and there was no butter for toast, pancakes, or anything! The orange juice didn’t taste like any orange juice I’ve ever tasted. The only good thing was the coffee!! The other thing I thought disappointing for a comfortable stay was the poor quality of the toilet paper! I’ve never experienced a thinner or more tearable quality toilet tissue anywhere else, ever! Other than that, the room was nice, the staff very friendly and professional, and other amenities (pool, exercise equipment, etc.) all very nice.

Our room was clean, as was the entire facility. Well located for easy walk to main area of Hill City. Breakfast offers the usual choices: Eggs, sausage, waffles, dry cereal. I wish there were a few more healthy choices and more fruit (only apples were available).
