Great place to stay. Not exactly walking distance to the downtown area but the downtown is a short distance by car. I picked this place because it had a fitness center. I was disappointed to see the universal style fitness machine was broken.

Great room, comfy beds and soft linens. Hot breakfast with biscuits and gravy and waffles. Yum. Coffee and tea bar. Indoor pool/hot tub indoors so the chlorine odor is quite high :/ But I’m sure worth it when it’s cold out. Super convenient to Crazy horse/Rushmore/Needles hwy etc. Everyone was super friendly. Great stay.

Great hotel in a quiet part of Hill City! The staff were friendly and helpful. It is close to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial. The beds were comfy. My teens enjoyed the pool and hot tub. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Our room and the breakfast area were very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. General maintenance was below par. Weeds growing 3 feet tall in the rocks at the entrance, hallways needed patching repair and painting. The hot tub had black foam floating on the surface. Pool water dirty. Couldn't use the pool area. General manager needs to wake up and take care of this lovely hotel.

EXCELLENT property, seemingly secluded yet within a short walk to the wonderful downtown area where it us still 'season,' so everything is open, still. Leave your car parked at hotel, then walk over to 1880 Train-ride to/from Keystone; or, get dinner out at 1885 Steakhouse or Alpine Inn; or, have charcuterie & barrel-dispensed wine at With the Wind winery. EXCELLENT STAFF at desk, and in food prep. for full breakfast at hotel dining area. (I ate egg-omlette on a waffle, and it was great!) EXCELLENT selection of pillows, with very clean linens. Clean hallways, and great room. Ample 'private' parking (at no extra charge).

I liked the big lobby with couches, tv and fireplace to hang out. Also it was nice to have the dining room to play games or bring something back to eat there. The pool , gym, game room in the lower level was a nice touch.

Staff was efficient and friendly. Everything was clean and orderly. The pool and hot tub area had no air flow and excessive chlorine smell. Our eyes started burning shortly after we entered and we could only tolerate it for 20 minutes.

The facility was nicely maintained and our room was very clean. The night before we stayed in a different city and different hotel chain that was very unpleasant. I was leery about our room conditions and the clerk went out of her way to show us the room to make sure that I was satisfied. Needless to say, I was very pleased and we would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is very dirty, there was black hairs all around the hotel room and none of us have black hair. It was in the bathroom, around the tub, the sink, the floor surrounding the tub. We also found a huge ball of hair in our bed under the sheet! It was gross! The pool had so much chlorine that when you walk in the pool room it hits you in the face and burns your eyes, it was so strong we couldn’t even stay and swim our eyes were burning so bad and when the jets shut off in the hot tub you could see filth all over the bottom of it. The only good thing was the friendly staff at the check in counter. We booked 4 days but only stayed 2 and they refused to give us a refund.

The breakfast menu was average. Eggs, sausage, waffles was what was hot. Otherwise the usual cold stuff. They ran out of food choices both mornings we were there. The room was clean. We did need to have a bed sheet changed because it was dirty when we checked in. Bed was ok for comfort. Water pressure was not good.

It was decent. The bad: Not that we watched a TON of tv, but the channel selection was very limited, especially for children. The channels were there but the majority of them were locked. Breakfast was basic and lacking. Not a lot of room or selection, and the coffee was terrible. After the first of our 5 days I went elsewhere for my morning coffee. Everything else was fine and up to any other hotel standards. Beds were comfy, rooms were clean, no other complaints!

The location was great, and the price was reasonable! I loved that the suit we had actually had three queen beds, and one was in a separate room with a privacy door! Most hotels, just give you a sleeper sofa instead, for a family of five. I also loved the fact that there were extra private bathrooms everywhere, throughout the hotel. With a large family, we found this to be very convenient. The pool and hot tub were also well-maintained, and quite large. If there was anything I could say in a negative, it’s just that the breakfast servings were a little minimal. They weren’t bad, though.
The location was great, and the price was reasonable! I loved that the suit we had actually had three queen beds, and one was in a separate room with a privacy door! Most hotels, just give you a sleeper sofa instead, for a family of five. I also loved the fact that there were extra private bathrooms everywhere, throughout the hotel. Hotel is nice enough, there are a few things i didn't like. First positive: front desk people were nice, breakfast was very good, pool and spa are nice enough little older but not in bad shape. Rooms are nice we had king size suits, couch was little worn and uncomfortable, bathrooms are nice and big. I noticed lightning is not as strong in the bathroom and water pressure is not strong. Also no body wash you get a bar of soap. Some people might not like that. I didn't know this otherwise I would bring my body wash. Lobby was nice with lemon and regular water. Lots of seating are. Stuff I didn't like are wifi was very very bad, not usable. Im a memeber too and it didn't matter. At least in our room 308 it was pretty bad I had to use my 5G. Water pressure was weak, and we also got charged a destination fee afterwords on my card. I would preferred to know that before I get charged. It also can help you get a better hotel if youre trying to save $10. Im not sure if thats all hotels but we are SD residents. Overall it was positive stay besides wifi which might be a deal breaker for me to come back to this hotel. Also they had a hot line 800 number to call if you have wifi issues. Yeah I don't have time to call 800 number im on vacation.

Unfortunately, we became ill during our stay. We had to leave early. This was the manager response to our request to refund our last night: My apologies for not being able to help you here as I do not see that we were at fault.. However if you believe your reservation did not have a 24 hour cancellation policy term tied to it, you need to pick it up with Expedia for refund. If Expedia discovers that they did a mistake, they will be the one to refund. Expedia told us we had to get it from Comfort Inn. :-( I think telling them at 7:30 am the morning before our last night was adequate, being that they could now rent it out to another guest. They never checked us out. We did not expect to get sick and have to spend the money anyway.We are seniors and this was dissappointing.

We travel with a small dog. So staying at hotels when we travel takes extra care to see if they are allowed. I searched hotels near expedia near Mt Rushmore to spend the night before we went to the monument. This hotel looked interesting. I check the web site, no mention of their pet policy. I called the hotel, they said pets were allowed. So I booked it. I get there and I am informed only service dogs are allowed. I said that didn't work, so we booked a room down the street at the Best Western. Pets allowed and a good set up for pets (sometimes the outdoor set up for pets is lacking, no good walking or bathroom set up, this place was great). Lost my money on comfort inn, will pass by this chain in the future.

The staff were welcoming and attentive. The rooms were clean and well kept. Beds were very comfortable. The location worked well for exploring the Black Hills. Very pleased with this hotel.

The room and hotel were great. I do have a complaint. My 8 year old daughter was using the hair dryer and it sparked, shocked, and started smoking. We immediately called for assistance. I was very concerned for my daughter’s safety as well as whether there would be an issue with the hair dryer causing a fire. We were told someone would be there immediately but yet they never came. My husband went down to the front desk to be told that no one came in because of the do not disturb sign on our door. I’m not sure why there was no knock especially since we had called and were concerned. I realize the hotel couldn’t control a faulty hair dryer but it was their reaction that angered me. No concern for my child’s safety. Then just a lot of talking in circles and excuses. No offer of anything to right the situation.

This hotel had very friendly and welcoming staff. It was clean throughout. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were well kept. Parking was provided around the entire facility. The listed price was good, but they had additional fees totaling more than 20% of the listed price. Fees were for lodging and sales tax, which were understandable, but why am I also paying an occupation tax and destination fee??? What is this all about? Add on fees are rediculous!!! ☹️

Staff was wonderful! Breakfast had a good variety and always replenished. An easy walk to the main street in Hill City. Beds were made daily and bathrooms cleaned daily. Tucked away off the highway, quiet. Would definitely stay here again!

The staff was so friendly and fast at check in. The pool & hot tub were amazing. The temps and vibes were so relaxing. We slept peacefully and the room sizes offered were great. And breakfast was clean, fast and enjoyable.

EXCELLENT property, seemingly secluded yet within a short walk to the wonderful downtown area where it us still 'season,' so everything is open, still. Leave your car parked at hotel, then walk over to 1880 Train-ride to/from Keystone; or, get dinner out at 1885 Steakhouse or Alpine Inn; or, have charcuterie & barrel-dispensed wine at With the Wind winery. EXCELLENT STAFF at desk, and in food prep. for full breakfast at hotel dining area. (I ate egg-omlette on a waffle, and it was great!) EXCELLENT selection of pillows, with very clean linens. Clean hallways, and great room. Ample 'private' parking (at no extra charge).

The motel was 5 stars, clean and in a nice area. While most hotels have upped their breakfast bar game, this one is lacking. Over 4 days the only fruit was oranges, they put out bread and muffins and when they are gone they won’t replenish. My husband asked for muffins and was told they’re gone and they wouldn’t put any more out until the next day. No hot cereal or instant oatmeal. Sausage, eggs and waffles are pretty much it. Motel is great but restaurants are extremely limited in the area so the continental breakfast is one of few choices.
The motel was 5 stars, clean and in a nice area. While most hotels have upped their breakfast bar game, this one is lacking. Breakfast was poor at best. Scrambled eggs were watery. Orange juice was watery. Coffee was watery. It was like management tried to stretch breakfast items to safe pennies per serving. Not OK. Everything else at hotel was fine.

The hotel property is new and very well maintained. The beds were very comfortable and clean. We did not hear any noise from other rooms. Each room has a window cooling/heating unit that provides white noise and allows you to set the room temperature to your liking. The breakfast could really use an upgrade. The eating area was clean but the options weren't great. There were no bagels or muffin options, only bread. The cereal options were also very limited. No fresh fruit and yhe orange juice was very weak. Other than the breakfast, i would highly recommend this hotel

This was a good hotel and right where we needed it. Located close to Crazy Horse monument and Mt Rushmore. Great breakfast with a wide selection and set in a beautiful area. There is a good restaurant close by called Chute Rooster.

This hotel was wonderful! It was expertly maintained, well cleaned and staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was cool the first night but it was warm after. We used the laundry and was pleasantly surprised by its upkeep. Breakfast staff made sure the food was stocked and had many options. The staff did a tremendous job making sure the trash was taken out and there were clean towels. I would definitely stay here if I was in the area again!
