Bush Hotel Farnham

This is a great place. We stayed with a 9 year old and a dog. Nothing was too much trouble - even though a wedding reception was on, we had a quiet room well away from it. Everything was very thoughtful. Staff were great and very engaging. We would definitely stay again. PS - I never complete reviews - but this place definitely deserves it!

Interesting hotel, internal and external communal area excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Did not eat but seemed very popular, a lot of people using the restaurant, both inside and outside eating.

Outstanding. Such a great hotel! We really enjoyed our stay, particularly the fabulous restaurant food - they clearly have a good pastry chef and the weather was so warm we had dinner and breakfast on the patio surrounded by lavender and beautiful grounds. Just gorgeous!

Property is an old themed building and the location is accessible. Environment and landscape is excellent.

Another wonderful stay at the Bush in beautiful Farnham! Each year we come back to find yet another upgrade to the property. This year the walkway from the free parking lot to the hotel had been repaved - great improvement! And Christmas dinner was lovely. Great service, great property.

Lovely hotel in brilliantly central location. Would certainly stay there again. Very relaxed, despite a massive wedding party being there on the Saturday.

Two lightbulbs missing, ash tray full and ash all over dirty seat cushions on patio. Rubbish scattered around patio area. But, nice and quiet. Great location for town centre. Parking was ideal and the staff were great.

The room was beautifully clean and comfortable. Tea. Offer available as was a nespresso machine. Bathroom had high end toiletries. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel

Characterful hotel in the centre of Farnham. Plenty of parking. Very comfortable, clean room. Easy check-in. The food at breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Only negative was there was no hot buffet at breakfast. The hot food was cooked to order and we had to wait a long time for service.

All excellent with very attentive staff. Clean, recently decorated and perfect for a town centre stay with places to eat and things to do. Can’t really fault it.

A little oasis in the centre of Farnham with its own relaxing patio and garden area. The whole hotel looked well maintained and clean. The room was a spacious size, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was clean. There is a good selection of restaurants with five minutes walk of the hotel. We will definitely stay here again.

Lovely stay at the Bush. The room was fab and everything spotless. Very comfy beds. Only minor ‘issue’ was at booking we were told the room we booked had a bath, it didn’t when we arrived. The team were so helpful and sadly there weren’t other rooms with baths at that time but they said they had made a note for the future when we come. Breakfast was also delicious! Thanks for a lovely stay!

A warm welcome was the greeting at reception. Friendly and pleasant. Hotel seemed clean and fresh with lovely modern mixed with old original features which worked well. Our room on entering had an unpleasant smell of someone who had used the bathroom. Leaving the window open seemed to clear it. The room appeared to be clean and well appointed. I did drop a cap from my aftershave which went under the bed and when I retrieved it I was covered in dust. We had made a reservation in the restaurant for that evening. The Bar staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant menu was limited but covered a variety of options to suit most tastes. However there were a couple of items that were not available. The tomato soup was swapped for a parsnip and apple, which had great flavour. One thing I do dislike is being asked how I would like my steak cooked, for it then to be nothing like I'd asked!!! IE asking for medium rare to have it served as very well done. This was rectified and replaced without an issue. The other meals were well prepared and very nice. We slept very well in the huge bed but in the night I got very warm and tried to get some air conditioning working to find that the room thermostat had been turned of from the hotels central unit so no changes to the temp could be made. I opened the window to then have to close it again because of drunken people walking from the town centre. The breakfast was lovely. Would stay again

The hotel itself was lovely, including the outside and restaurant and bar. The location was right in the centre with plenty of restaurants and bars surrounding. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms and my only fault is the bathroom was grubby and could do with an update.

Spent a night at the Bush Hotel in August 2025. We had the Superior interconnecting room which was very spacious for our family of four. Everything was clean, neat and tidy and furnishings are of a high standard. Be was very comfy and had a lovely view of the garden. We ordered room service which was very nice and also spent time in the pub garden which was very nice in the warm weather. Credit to the lovely staff that were very welcoming and pleasant to deal with. You do pay a little extra for all of this but in my opinion it is well worth it. I would highly recommend the Bush Hotel and hope to visit again soon.

We had a lovely stay at Bush Hotel. Clean, quiet and cozy - myself and my 3 year old enjoyed it all. Check-in was smooth and easy, very close proximity to town - you wouldn't think the town was so close as the hotel was so quiet! Comfortable bed with extra pillows available and a nice little bathroom. Thank you.

My review would have been 5 star except for the heating in the bedroom. This is centrally controlled and we had to ask reception to turn it on. To be fair they did this immediately, but you can't adjust it in your room so it went from too cold to too hot!

We stayed in The Snug. It was compact, upstairs in main building and at the far end of the corridor. It was comfortable but no bedside tables or bedside lights. Good bathroom. Storage OK. One comfy chair. Good A/C. Bed was comfortable. Good breakfast.

It’s a very nice property with lovely staff. But it’s old. Very old. Some people appreciate this, with asthma it was a nightmare. Dust and pet smells were serious trigger. Location is great, very close to train, centre of town. So, if you have no allergies, highly recommend! No desk in room so if you need to work remotely, this isn’t a good option.

The safe (lock box) didn't work on arrival, asked them to fix it, came home in the evening and it wasn't done. Had to call again in the morning and they had to change the battery. Wasn't a fan of the thermostat being locked There was an old phone in the room that didn't work at all, had to have that replaced. Definitely need to polish up on things.

We had a garden room and mirror in bathroom or bedroom are not suitable to do make up or shave one in bathroom can’t get near it as sink then a shelf! As going son’s wedding this was a big disappointment!

Nice hotel in the centre however receptionist was awful! We had a wedding to attend so called to see if we could have an early check in and whilst advised they couldn’t guarantee it, they were sure they would be able to sort something out so we could get ready. However on arrival the receptionist said they didn’t have one clean room for us to check into which was only 1 hour before actual check in time! We were forced to get ready in the communal toilets in tiny cubicles which was all she would offer us! These were on different floors so sharing luggage was challenging to say the least let alone having to steam our outfits on the corridors! I have never been so embarrassed and humiliated! It ruined the wedding for us and put a very bad taste on our visit to the area. My husband did speak to the manager when we were leaving in a rush to get to the wedding who apologised and gave us free breakfast, however our day had been ruined! A real shame as the following day all the other staff we met were lovely and the hotel was nice as was the breakfast. But would not return or recommend.

The reception staff were amazing and very helpful. I appreciated them providing a ground floor entrance as I requested. The manager allowed me access to my room well before the check-in time after my long flight from Australia. I highly recommend the Bush Hotel to everyone visiting Farnham, Surrey, UK.

Great choice for breakfast Asked days before about checking in earlier and they said we would have to see on the day Arrived and couldn’t check in so had to change for wedding in the toilets.. So couldn’t check in at 1pm but you have to leave at 11am the next day…not brilliant for £210

After some confusion about rooms, I was very impressed by all of the staffs response.

The breakfast is okay. There is air in the rooms, but nowhere else. The location is perfect, close to everything. The grounds , the patios lounge and bar areas are so pretty

We loved our stay at the Bush Hotel. Extremely convenient location, very short walk to rail station, close to shops, restaurants, and beautiful tree lined walking tracks.

Good stay, nice garden, good room and good breakfast. Dinner menu a bit limited

Went to room to find the fan was not working the bathroom. Reported to reception who gave us the room next door but unfortunately the fan was not working in there either. Manager was called who found they had an electrical problem. The manager very kindly gave us an upgrade to an even more beautiful room and brought us drinks in the bar. Extremely helpful and efficient. We had dinner in the evening which was very poor. The steak was very chewy and blood was covering the plate. It clearly hadn’t been rested once cooked.

We booked Sunday and Monday night for a relaxing stay. We should have done our homework beforehand as we had never stayed in a hotel that closed its restaurant on those evenings. Breakfast was very nice, however you have to help yourself to everything - hot drinks, cold buffet, cook your own toast, hot breakfast. Staff were on hand to assist, stock up and clear tables. We found it all very DIY, so if you want a relaxing stay and to be waited on hand and foot, this place is NOT for you. Daily cleaning of the room was good, however you could easy find fault if you went looking. Monday night was £146 b&b with an open bar. So not what I consider good value or luxury. Perhaps it lends itself to large business conference efficiency. We would not choose to return unless we needed to be in the centre of Farnham.
