This was a nice surprise- not an outdated older pub hotel experience, very nicely updated rooms and bathroom - the tub was actually large enough to take real bath if you wanted to! Having breakfast included was great, and it was cooked to order... lots of options and not just the 'English" breakfast. Would definitely stay again if in the area. Kid and dog friendly as well.

Very good stay. Rooms very well equipped and everything worked as it should. Rooms in a separate building to the inn with its own car park next to the entrance so very easy to transfer luggage. Excellent breakfast. Restaurant also up to expectations.

The Princess Royal is quite possibly my new favorite hotel bed and breakfast. The accommodations were beyond excellent. The room had air conditioning to beat the summer heat and was very comfortable and relaxing to stay in. We ended up booking a 2nd night because we were so pleased with our stay during the first night. The breakfast was great. They had a continental-style option to start and then a menu to order a fairly wide set of filling options, all included in the very reasonable rate. The staff were excellent, personable, and always looking to go the extra mile to make our stay memorable. Supper was extremely tasty and the pub food offerings generous in portion and flavor. I wish we had places like this in the States.

Super rooms, everything you could need (fridge, iron, usb sockets, big TV, power shower, luxury toiletries, hangers, drawers, desk, chairs, aircon etc.). Lots of on-site parking, great food and excellent beer choice. Staff helpful and friendly and everything you could want for breakfast. Worth staying here.

A good clean room with excellent beds and bedding. Spacious wet room. Furniture looked dated and a bit tired. Breakfast was ok, but overcooked, particularly the bacon which was rather leather-like. Couldn't get a second coffee because no staff were around. Other staff were excellent.

Love this place. We have stayed a few times and will continue to do so. The staff are always so welcoming and helpful. I cannot praise them enough. The room is always clean and comfortable with complimentary tea and coffee. The pub/restaurant has great food and service. It has plenty of parking for the hotel.

This hotel was a bit disappointing. The communal areas are nice, the rooms were quite plain. We were in a dog friendly family room that did not feel very clean or fresh. Bed was comfortable though. Most of the staff here are nice and friendly but all are very inefficient. Multiple staff seem to be mulling around, service is extremely slow.

A nice clean room, one of the cleanest I have stayed in. Comfortable and warm with a good powerful shower. All the staff (reception, restaurant and housekeeping) were lovely and super helpful. A great freshly cooked breakfast finished our stay this morning. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay.

Friendly staff, very nice room with coffee machine and complementary drinks in the fridge. We had nice dinner and breakfast in the pub, was convenient for us to stay one night in the area. The only downside was the sofa bed was not so comfortable and really squeaky! But the kids slept ok and we appreciated being able to stay with our 2 kids in the room.

We only stayed for one night but were very impressed by our room. It was very comfortable and well-equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. The triple glazing was excellent at keeping out the road noise, and we didn't hear a thing. We would definitely recommend it.

Rooms were comfortable and slightly away from the Pub, which was good. We found that the road noise early in the morning was quite bad, but then realised we had left the inner sliding pains open. The following night it was fine. Service in the restaurant was a bit erratic, with several requests for water, and the wine cellar was not as well stocked as the list! Food was good though, as was breakfast, and we would stay there another time if in the area. One point that is not on their website is that there is NO food available on a Sunday evening.

We were greeted by really friendly staff who were very eager to please. We arrived before the check in time and found we could go straight to our room, however we decided to eat. The the food was excellent, the staff were professional and it had a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely stay again and look forward to it. The owner/managers are lucky to have such wonderful staff. Well done. The place was very busy at all times which is a sign of an amazing place.

Lovely little pub which myself and colleague stayed in for one night as we were attending a Farnborough exhibition. 15-20 mins max away from Farnborough exhibition hall. Staff here are so friendly and helpful. Special mention to Blake behind the bar for looking after us all evening. The head chef was lovely too and personally came to see my colleague about the lunch she chose on the next day and tailored it to her liking. All in all nice spacious clean rooms which are separate to the pub so nice a quiet too and attached to an excellent proper pub! Well done to you all, would 100% come back after how you treated us at every step of the experience. Food was also very good too! 10/10

My stay at the Princess Royal was excellent and what I imagine anyone would want out of a stay in a smaller English town. The hotel itself was lovely, with clean, large, and comfortable rooms. Additionally the staff were excellent. I arrived extremely early because of tight itineraries around attending a wedding. Because of my early arrival my room was not ready. However, the staff went the extra mile to find me a place to shower and change when they would have been well within their rights to just tell me to come back later. That unfailing politeness and courtesy was present in all my subsequent interactions with the staff. The Princess Royal was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in awhile in terms of service, and if you're staying in the area I would strongly recommend this hotel.

I have been staying at this hotel for years, on a regular basis. It used to be wonderful. However, over the last 18 months, things have changed and not for the better. Prices have increased, but what we get has decreased, from what is in the room, to breakfast, to service. The efficient staff all seem to have left and there appears to be a major gap in the employees' training. Hotel guests are treated as poor relations, always inconvenienced when there is a function in the pub. There isn’t one aspect, whether it be value for money or service that is a patch on what it was. If you are staying for the first time, then you may be content, but trust me, it should be so much better. I will not be back!.

Lovely little pub which myself and colleague stayed in for one night as we were attending a Farnborough exhibition. 15-20 mins max away from Farnborough exhibition hall. Staff here are so friendly and helpful. Special mention to Blake behind the bar for looking after us all evening. The head chef was lovely too and personally came to see my colleague about the lunch she chose on the next day and tailored it to her liking. All in all nice spacious clean rooms which are separate to the pub so nice a quiet too and attached to an excellent proper pub! Well done to you all, would 100% come back after how you treated us at every step of the experience. Food was also very good too! 10/10

The facility was great, neat and comfy. My room was very spacious and well-maintained. There was some rattling on the corridor floor. The location is secure and quiet but the car park was pretty busy.

Stayed here one night before flying out from Heathrow. Room was very comfortable with separate sitting room. Considering you’re right on the A road, we couldn’t hear the traffic at night nor in the morning. Great nights sleep and comfortable bed. Discount in the restaurant as we were staying there as well. Would definitely stay again when we’re back in the area.

A good clean room with excellent beds and bedding. Spacious wet room. Furniture looked dated and a bit tired. Breakfast was ok, but overcooked, particularly the bacon which was rather leather-like. Couldn't get a second coffee because no staff were around. Other staff were excellent.

Comfortable bed, nice size room, nice & clean, all teh main things were right. Just hassle getting shower gel out of the bottle, practically dismantled the dispenser to get at it. Could do with a bit of variety on bar menu, some people have potato intolerances so one option that isn't boiled, mash, triple cooked chips or roast potatoes would have been welcomed.

Te first morning breakfast was good and the waiter kept topping up your coffee/tea. The second morning service was very slow we were sat at the table for almost half an hour before our order was taken and they only came around once with coffee/tea

Really impressed, the room was beautiful and the staff were great. Only feedback was a lack of choice for vegetarian food on the dinner menu (vegetable tagine nice enough but not exciting).

Rooms were comfortable and slightly away from the Pub, which was good. We found that the road noise early in the morning was quite bad, but then realised we had left the inner sliding pains open. The following night it was fine. Service in the restaurant was a bit erratic, with several requests for water, and the wine cellar was not as well stocked as the list! Food was good though, as was breakfast, and we would stay there another time if in the area. One point that is not on their website is that there is NO food available on a Sunday evening.

Very comfortable room, quiet and a great nights sleep. Nespresso coffee machine and fridge with fresh milk in room. All staff very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was included with fairly limited selection of cereals etc. The full english was freshly cooked and excellent however. Had dinner one night which was very good with excellent service.
