A lovely clean and comfortable house. We appreciated the complimentary milk and cake on our arrival. Every room was nicely decorated and the kitchen was well equipped with plenty of excellent crockery and utensils. A short walk into town and quite a few public footpaths from the house, although hilly and quite rocky in places. Amazing views from most of the rooms. The beds were extremely comfortable and the position of the house in a private road meant it was so peaceful. Good garden which is suitable for dogs with various gates and fencing/decking. One of the best holiday homes we have stayed at.

Lovely holiday home. Fabulous views from the decking area and the cottage is very well equipped. Definitely not a house for those with limited mobility as lots of stair and hill climbing is necessary to get to and from the village and even the road outside, but if you’re fit and healthy it’s a great place to have a holiday!

Our stay at West Wind last week was so fantastic we were sad to go home!\r \r The cottage is newly restored and this has been done very well. Everything is new and immaculately clean. West Wind is so well kitted out with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, as well as plenty of games, books and even dvds for the kids which is great for the days you want to stay in and relax.\r \r We have two young children (6 and 1) and really appreciated the small but significant things like stair gates, a high chair and travel cot, and also plastic plates/cutlery. Having a washing machine was also really handy.\r \r Everything about the cottage was comfortable and welcoming, the homemade jam and cake on arrival was such a lovely touch.\r \r All of that aside, the views were incredible and the location is great for exploring. There is so much to see and do, which in itself makes West Wind a great choice of place to stay.\r \r We are planning on coming back next year and are already looking forward to it - thank you!

Just a lovely, lovely cottage, with everything we could possibly want. I would caution anyone with balance issues to be very careful on the steps leading up to the cottage. They are a bit uneven. The foot path that goes down to the Ship Inn is extremely steep and can be slippery. That would be my only bit of advice. Otherwise an excellent facility in every way: secluded, quiet, fabulous views, clean as a whistle!

This was our second visit to West Wind and it was just as fantastic as the first. With two small children (7 and 2) we find the house so well equipped, comfortable and absolutely immaculate. By far the best part of the cottage is the views, they are breath taking. I’ve still not seen the red deer on the hill opposite as others have so if you could just arrange that for me next year then it would be absolutely perfect! :) thank you!

A stunningly refurbished , decorated and extremely well presented Cottage , providing everything you need for a self catering holiday, and so much more. We were so delighted when we arrived, we promptly asked if we could stay longer. We were lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy the amazing views and the outside space this cottage offers.

More information needed re stepd to property. Not suitable for persons with mobility issues. They are steep and an irregular depth and when wet can be slippery. We are a three generation family so had the help we needed from the youngsters. We would not have managed on our own with the steps. Although there is a hand rail.

Very comfortable cottage, lovely quiet location with views of the hillside and sea. You can walk from the cottage to the salt marshes and up onto Porlock Hill. Porlock was a good base to explore Exmoor which was right on your doorstep.

Our stay at West Wind last week was so fantastic we were sad to go home!\r \r The cottage is newly restored and this has been done very well. Everything is new and immaculately clean. West Wind is so well kitted out with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, as well as plenty of games, books and even dvds for the kids which is great for the days you want to stay in and relax.\r \r We have two young children (6 and 1) and really appreciated the small but significant things like stair gates, a high chair and travel cot, and also plastic plates/cutlery. House has lovely views and is well situated to explore the area, while close enough to walk to pub/shops. Very well appointed. We (three generations) had great fun, thoroughly enjoyed.
