Room smelled funny. Reserved a smoking room and was told there were no smoking rooms available. Remote did not work had to go to front desk for a different one. Pool was nice and clean.

No room service. Wallpaper in room was peeling. Bugs in bathroom. Tv remote didn’t work. The lobby was under some kind of “reconstruction.” Was advertised as pet friendly but didn’t know there was an additional pet fee PER night PER pet PLUS tax. Of the whole weekend we were there there was PLENTY of vacant rooms but they stuck us right beside literally the only other person there instead of spacing us out… he was up all night and morning drinking and hollering and blaring music

I booked this location because of its short distance to the racetrack. Price was excellent, service was great. Obvious at this price it’s not 5 star but suitable for a race weekend. The only issue was I’m a non smoker in a smoking room. The people that checked out before me were heavy heavy smokers and it took days for the oder to relax. Nice quiet sleeps and easy parking made it good for me.

The TV didn’t work, the hairdryer was unworkable, the iron was missing, there were stains on the sheets, holes in the bedspread, cigarette butts every where outside, debris in the stairways and corridors. The “breakfast” was lukewarm coffee and waffle maker. Period. The worst experience in a hotel ever.

Had to select this property as only pet friendly in the area. Room was clean, however this motel is very old and has not been refurbished/remodeled in a very long time. But then for a very low rate makes our rating good overall. Also TV did not work and no one was available after 9 pm to help.

Only stayed there for one night. It was cheap and allowed animals which was nice. No bedbugs so that was a plus. It’s definitely outdated and not the cleanest overall. The door was hard to lock and honestly didn’t feel particularly safe there. You get what you pay for though so don’t go there expecting anything nice. I would not stay again likely but it served its purpose for one night.

Property was very outdated. No ice machine in the building. Cigarette burns on the linens on both beds. Towels were questionably clean, they just seemed damp not crisp and dry like they should have been. Overall, the room was decently clean just really needs some updates and especially the bedding needs replaced. Room was very spacious which was nice.

The bed was very confortable but the bathroom and the room was worn out. The bath was burning with cigarettes and the wall was not cleans. The breakfast had no fruits, no bananas... and the price is too expensive for this hotel.

I have never stayed at a hotel that was this nasty! Toliet literally had pubic hairs on the seat! Floors was disgusting and you could definitely tell they do not clean or disinfect anything in the rooms. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

The sheets had stains all over them and look like they were dirty. When I went to take a shower, the water was ice cold there was no hot water then at breakfast there was only two things to choose from and you call that continental breakfast.

My first assigned Room, #129, was in my opinion, inhabitable even for one night. Dead bug found on tub, faucet wouldn't shut off and low bed with little cover for warmth. Second room, #140, double bed better. However, floor lamp could not be used, either no power from outlet or inoperable; toilet leaked at valve when flushed; window curtains so light that they blocked heat from the unit--heat blew up the curtain along the window; and finally the door latch security hardware was not securely attached. Luckily the deadbolt worked.

Staff was super nice but that was about the only good thing. Lightbulbs were missing, our non-smoking room reeked of cigarettes, the door had a gap at the bottom you could see through, towels were dirty, bathroom was terrible. It was just not a good place to stay but options are limited during race weekends.

The room was nice and but cold air was coming in through the front door. I took all the pillows except two and placed them at the bottom of the door then I took all the towels and push them through the cracks where the air was coming in. I then took my jacket and laid it over my legs and I took the bath mats and covered my feet. I also took the recliner and placed it on the other side of the door to stop the air on the right side of the door. After that all was good and I slept good. .

The bathroom area was small. I'm 6'2" 235 lbs. I barely could turn around in the shower. The door sweep at bottom of door did not go to the floor. Bugs were entering.

I did not want to share a review of the Econo Lodge because we did NOT end up staying there. When we went to check in at 4:30PM we were told the room was NOT clean and would not be ready for at least another hour. This was unacceptable so we left and found an alternative.

The hotel was disgusting!!! I told them when I left and they told me I should have told them earlier and they told me they would have given me another room. The problem was that they were sold out! My question is why wouldn’t they have cleaned it befor we got there!!!!!! The manager had a definite attitude!!

I'm glad you forwarded this opportunity for me to leave my feedback on this property. I booked this hotel in May and prepaid. I arrived late Thursday evening after approximately a 5-hour drive. The first issue arrived when I noticed the six to eight people sitting outside on the sidewalk on their phone. As I tried to enter the building to check in the door was chained shut. I had to speak to your receptionist through a window in the wall. Well, once she finally put down her cell phone she was able to briefly speak to me. Like everyone else waiting outside apparently our reservations didn't exist. She seemed very annoyed that we were even there. It's not often you meet someone as rude as her. I had to then try to find another hotel on my own as I was not sleeping in my car. She said that was not her problem. From what I could see through the chain glass door the hotel was not very clean so I'm guessing this was a blessing in disguise. I had to drive from Martinsville Virginia clear to Greensboro North Carolina to find another hotel. I will never even consider staying at another Econo Lodge.

I could not get ahold of front desk after a few different numbers were called. so had to walk to the office to tell.them that. My ac heater unit was not working. Maintenance was called and eventually a different unit had to be put in. It took over 2 hours, time i was supposed to be using my room. Thanks to the maintenance guy, he was real nice during this. The next evening , i went to the lobby, i needed my.room.card reactivated and the lady at the front desk was completely disoriented to the point of alsmost d Falling asleep, she seemed drunk. I dont know. The customer in front of me said shes messed up. She said it was her blood sugar. I dont know but it was a horrible experience. The breakfast next morning was ridiculous. There only was a waffle maker, some frozen biscuits, and a bad banana and apples. What kind of service is that. I paid almost $500 for the weekend and it was a horrible experience. I m not sure if i will.. be back but i should be compensated in some way.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in(and I’ve stayed in hundreds of them) If it wasn’t for the fact that I’d had to come here as all the places in nearby Eden were sold out I would have turned and fled. As it was I just locked the door and tried to get through the night listening to people outside shouting and partying with loud music blaring from their cars. The bedding was disgusting with cigarette burn holes and I just prayed it wasn’t alive with bed bugs. Not exactly cheap either. I paid well over $100 to stay in this flea pit. I would advise anyone with sense to steer well clear of the place

For a 60 year old building it’s not bad. Convenient location for us. Old and dated but clean enough. In need of an update. Falls in the “you get what you pay for“ category. When there I’m only looking for a crash pad. If you want luxury this isn’t the place.

I booked this location because of its short distance to the racetrack. Price was excellent, service was great. Obvious at this price it’s not 5 star but suitable for a race weekend. The only issue was I’m a non smoker in a smoking room. The people that checked out before me were heavy heavy smokers and it took days for the oder to relax. Nice quiet sleeps and easy parking made it good for me.

Asked lady at deskbif we were in a safe area, she said we have cameras. There was a party above us that went on until 12:30am. Room had so much floor cleaner on floor that it would not dry. It was like ice skating.pillow cases are so old they are dinging. Sheets had cigarette burns straight through to tge plastic. As if they were not changed. The room had an old musty smell. A lot of shady stuff happening in the lot after dark.A total refund should be given back to me as the advertising was false. We did not feel safe.

This is an older property, starting in the 1950's as a Holiday Inn. It's a little outdated but for the price it was OK. I just needed a clean bed and bath for the night, and that's what I found. I did not stay on the property except to sleep. It was quiet and I felt safe, considering the neighborhood. I probably would not choose this facility again.

This was my first time in the city from out of state and everyone was very nice. The common areas in the main building are very nice. Breakfast was a good addition- I might suggest some toast and fruit. My room was fine- I slept great; the cleaners used are VERY strong, and lasted the entire stay. Glad to find this spot- convenient to so much!

Broken refrigerator door to the bathroom is too close to the toilet so you can't close it and you have to sit sideways on the toilet. Complimentary breakfast was awful only waffles but they tasted terrible and the orange juice was brown that was all they had.

had to switch rooms. would not accept first room. 2nd room tv did not work. lamp bulb was burnt out. only had 1 wash cloth for 2 people. microwave had not been cleaned since the hotel was built. would not return. ladies at front were very nice and helpful. breakfast was good

The sheets had stains all over them and look like they were dirty. When I went to take a shower, the water was ice cold there was no hot water then at breakfast there was only two things to choose from and you call that continental breakfast.

Where do I start? We came to Martinsville to attend Nascar. First off the tripled the rate starting on the 31st & then 1st & 2nd the 3rd the rate was doubled. Housekeeping was non existent. Twice I had to request a bath mat. The bed was only made once. Breakfast was lukewarm coffee watered down juice, waffles some fruit & little sausage biscuit things you warmed in the microwave. The room cards only worked for a day. Bathtub was disgusting, plaster on the floor. Spiders in the room. Save your money don’t book this.

The TV didn’t work, the hairdryer was unworkable, the iron was missing, there were stains on the sheets, holes in the bedspread, cigarette butts every where outside, debris in the stairways and corridors. The “breakfast” was lukewarm coffee and waffle maker. Period. The worst experience in a hotel ever.

Check-in personnel were very efficient and personable. But the room’s furniture was too grimy to sit on, the area outside the room was littered with hundreds of cigarette butts, and the “breakfast” was awful—nothing but inedible waffles and bitter coffee. Terrible experience. I will not stay in another EconoLodge anywhere.

Excellent front desk. Very pleasant and helpful. She made sure I found my room. Saw I was using a cane and ran to open the doors for me! Outstanding person!!! Stated if anything wrong or needed to let her know. Truely genuine!!!
