I could walk to most places I wanted to go. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Bentley's, the restaurant onsite, was great for dinners. The Marion Room for buffet breakfasts was clean and comfortable. An evening in the hot tub and no one else there!

The hotel was amazing, gave me a late check-out for free, great breakfast, wonderful staff, Pool, hot tub and workout room was great. Parking was easy and nice. The only problem was the amount of Homelass walking around the area, asking for change and sleeping on the sidewalks just a block away. Would recommend to stay as long as you drive where you are going don't walk.

Excellent hotel. Quiet, comfortable beds, free underground parking. The only con was that the restaurant was closed, so there was no bar or food available and area choices of neighboring businesses was limited to a sushi bar and a dive-sports bar.

Breakfast was pretty good as far as hotel breakfasts go. The room was mostly tidy. When we moved the ottoman we found a lot of food debris (bigger than crumbs) under it. The in room sound machine was a nice touch, and necessary because of the traffic noise on the street Fri & Sat nights (revving engines and racing).

Room was HOT! We had temp set to 62 and were sweating. Woke up this morning to ants in bathroom and in the bed. Not happy and front desk seemed in alarmed we left at 6:30am bc we couldn't get comfortable after seeing bugs.

Overall, I would give this hotel, five out of five stars with the only caveat being that if you’re in a room facing Liberty Street, you can anticipate that you will hear traffic noise throughout the night. The most obnoxious are the motorcycles that seem to pass by cthrough all hours of the night. That being said the hotel is fantastic and the breakfast is amazing. I will definitely come back, next time I’ll just be sure to ask for a room away from the street.

Beautiful Hotel, Great location - just a few box from amazing Riverfront park! Delicious and healthy complimentary breakfast Secure parking! Only negative was the room - which faces the Main Street was very busy and load at night. It would be wise for the hotel to invest in triple pain widows or other soundproofing to decrease noice. Perhaps the other side of the hotel would be quieter - will try that next time.

Clean and comfortable rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was great. Building and furniture are a bit dated, though. Door between our suite and kitchenette wouldn't close completely. Very noisy if you're in a street-facing room with loud traffic on a busy street.

I think the lobby is beautiful and clean, it looked to me a 4 stars hotel but the room is ok. The breakfast was good. We did not able to get enough rest from the noises of cars driving through out the night.

Our stay at The Grand Hotel was actually quite... grand. The facility inside was beautiful and elegant. I can see why people get married here from time to time. It was right in the middle of downtown Salem, so we were within walking distance of many places. The closeness of entertainment was the purpose of booking our overnight stay. Their pricing for the room we stayed in was a great price as well. The staff were very nice and helpful when we had questions. They were always available when we needed them and were quick to supply us with our requests. In the morning they provided a buffet of breakfast food, and they kept it going until 10am. That made it very convenient to sleep in and still get breakfast before checkout. The only downfall is something they cannot help being the location it is at. The traffic is 24/7, and there is a lot of activity due to the standard nightlife and the homeless population. We made the mistake of sleeping with the window open, so we heard people racing up and down the street and cop / ambulance sirens all night and morning. Unfortunately, that is not something they can manage, but it did not affect the great time we had staying here. 10/10 would recommend staying here if you have the chance!

The staff is awesome! So friendly. This time breakfast wasn’t so good though. Bacon was undercooked and the potatoes were not good along with tasteless eggs. The last few times were good. Sausage and hash browns were much much better.

This was an overnight stay in Salem because we had a business appointment and decided to see a little of the city. The entire staff at the Grand Hotel were superb. Russell checked us in and offered a great lunch recommendation. The hotel itself was beautiful and very well maintained. Very comfortable beds. The central location to downtown allowed us to park the car and walk everywhere. Would definitely stay there again.

Everything about the room with spectacular except the view. It was the top of the roof Of the restaurant on the first floor. The staff was absolutely marvelous. Very helpful. The breakfast was spectacular for a continental breakfast over and beyond 10+ plus rating for The entire stay.
