Comfort Inn & Suites Salem Northeast

Stayed for a couple of nights while at a softball tournament. This hotel is bed to lay your head at best. The breakfast horrible and looked like it came right out of the microwave. There is next to no parking, I arrived back late on my second night there and wasn’t able to find a spot. The hotel told me I could park in the back of the restaurant’s lot next door, about a half block away. When I expressed my frustrations about parking somewhere else when I had already paid for the room, I was told there isn’t anything they could do. Why should I be forced to park a block away when spending almost 250$ a night for a crap hotel? I will never stay at another Comfort Inn for the rest of my days. My truck bed would have been more comfortable.

Night staff was awful. Old carpets. Mold. Cold pool. Go somewhere else.

Location was convenient to the college we were visiting. Area was a bit industrial but it was only for two nights and our time was spent at the college so it wasn’t a concern. There were enough food options nearby. Check in was easy with friendly staff. Room was spacious and clean. Bed and bedding were comfortable. Water pressure in the shower wasn’t very strong, pool looked like the bottom hadn’t been scrubbed regularly, and breakfast was ok. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels with free breakfasts and the quality here wasn’t that great. The coffee was weak, no hot chocolate (to my daughter’s dismay), and the hot options were minimal and really not that good. My son did enjoy their waffle maker. Overall, I would stay here again but just wouldn’t eat their breakfast.

While this property is a little older, it is well kept and clean. The staff that checked us in was very helpful and friendly. Since we had to arrive very late their parking lot was full, so they directed us to the lot across from the hotel/shared property, which was well lit. They had free continental breakfast with great options. Also, if that’s not for you, there is a McDonalds down the street. The bed and pillows were soft & comfortable. We had to leave early the next morning so unfortunately I don’t know about the shower (water pressure). I would stay there again.

Where to start...the lobby had an old house smell. The elevator was old and felt like it would break at the last floor. The vending machines were out of everything even water. The pool pump died. The laundry room was in the dark due to a blown lightbulb. The dryers took 45 minutes and the entire load was still wet.

Convient, reasonably priced, parking for a pickup truck is awkward, sink stopper is loose.

This was our first time to the area(state). Little did we know that the Ironman Competition was in town also. There were not many hotels to choose from. At $400 a night(jacked up because of the competition), this place was a dump. The employees were nice but outside of that, the carpet was old, stained, and SO smelly. The elevator smelled like a locker room. Like it was mopped with dirty water, if at all. It took two days for the air to cool down our room so we all slept with no covers because it was so hot. (We were only staying two days) I dare anyone over 200lbs to shower in the tub in room 306 because the floor is definitely broken underneath the plastic bath fitter. Price does not reflect the upgrades this hotel needs.

Hotel was immaculate. Room was very nice and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was nice and well stocked. Employees were very nice.

Room cleaness bathroom had hair on the floor. Needs body wash. Sink needed a trash can. Blankets had hairs. Night stand had crums inside the drawer. And smell funky.

I think the hotel needs to be remodeled. The carpet was disgusting the room was smelly. The lady at the front desk was nice .

The hallways Smelled like BO. Our room smelled like mold and mildew - especially the bathroom. Thank goodness room had a window that could be opened

Bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. Room and hallways smelled like smoke.

The hotel suite room had carpet beetles.

Room was clean and comfy the only problem was the loudness of the AC.

The bed was slanted on one side so I felt like I was falling.

It was very noisy. We had to unplug the refrigerator, but then noise from overhead and adjoining rooms was unpleasant. Towels are thin and not located in bathroom. Not a single hook anywhere to hang a towel or robe.

We had a very difficult time getting the TV to work properly. It was on a different language and the remote batteries were dead. We got help from the front desk guy. He eventually was able to get it working properly

I like the convenience of the hotel. The location is convenient to almost everything, but it was kind of noisy. I had a hard time sleeping. The traffic was noisy and people getting up early in the morning and slamming doors all down the hallway and running down the hallway at 6 o’clock in the morning kind of bummed me out because I usually like to stay at this hotel

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable beds. The heater/wall air conditioner from the inside was damaged hard to turn heat! The breakfast was terrible. There were no options for food. It was sausage patties and eggs with waffles of course. I am used to a few good options for breakfast especially traveling with kids. That was really the only disappointment.

It was ok the tv is old . Bed is comfy

Our first room shower was broken so needed to use a bucket to shower, they let us move and 2nd room the AC was broken so no heater and it was freezing.

Liked: 1) friendly front desk staff. 2) easy freeway access 3) restaurants nearby. 4) spacious room with desk and comfy chair for reading. 5) convenient breakfast included. Disliked: 1) checkin delay: room not ready, shortage of housekeeping staff, long check-in wait time, lone front desk agent valiantly and patiently juggling multiple patrons checking-in, calling, and walk-ins. Whatever they are paying him should be increased. 2) room worn looking- no towel hooks or racks in bathroom or main room, rattly (and dirty) bathroom fan, mismatched bulbs over sink lend the room a poorly maintained look. 3) noisy- from kids playing in the hall, and from nearby freeway, although windows make a pretty good attempt to dampen it. We thought this hotel was relatively expensive, likely due to being in the capital city, and recommend going elsewhere if able for better value and experience.

This facility was not horrible but I am not sure I would stay again. The location was close to the freeway which was nice. As you walk in, the lobby has a very musty smell, the elevator smelt like oatmeal and the hallway (second floor) smelt like cigarettes. The room itself was nicer than the rest of the facility. When I checked in I was informed that check-out was at 11:00am. At 9:45am we heard a knock at the door and then the lock began to open. To my surprise the housekeeper (and even though I had the "Do not Disturb" sign on the door) was beginning to come in. Once I told her we were not ready to leave yet she began to move to another room. Than less then 30 minutes later it happened again. We were ready to leave but were killing time since we didn't have another appointment until after 11 I just didn't want to wait outside versus in the room. I informed the front desk and they looked up who the cleaner was and didn't seem surprised. It was unsettling. Overall it was fine for our short stay but for anyone looking for a relaxing multi-night stay I would recommend maybe looking somewhere else.

I was impressed with how kind, friendly and helpful all the staff here was. It’s a really nice group of people and so willing to go the extra mile for you.

Staff were great. We had an issue with our shower knob, they arrived when they said to fix. Made arrangements for us to utilize a nearby room to shower.

After reserving a room three months in advance, I had a late check in due to a flight delay. The night shift clerk on duty (Mark) was borderline rude and entirely incompetent. He was unable to get the key to register so I was checked into a room without key access until the next day ( he thought it was the lock, but it was not) and I felt a bit like a prisoner.. The room smelled musty, the furniture was worn and torn ( both the armchair and the desk chair), the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling off and the place generally needed a facelift. I had a long stay (25 days) and for almost $4,000, I expected better. On a brighter side, the rest of the staff (Manager - Michael, day shift desk clerk - Daniel, & Maintenance - Tim) were all pleasant and professional. My son stayed there in the spring and thought it was fine (and he is discerning) which is why I canceled reservations at another place and booked the Comfort Inn. It was mistake I'm sorry to say.

I traveled from out of state to attend a community event in Salem and brought my family with me. After a long drive, we arrived at Comfort Inn expecting a warm welcome. Instead, we found the main entrance locked and no staff anywhere to help. Despite calling the front desk and knocking repeatedly, we were left standing outside for nearly two hours, finally being let in just before 2 AM. This wasn’t just frustrating—it was unsafe and unacceptable, especially for a family traveling late at night. It completely ruined our first impression of both the hotel and the city. Once we checked in, staff were rude and dismissive, ignoring basic requests and treating our group unfairly. Worse, other guests were drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes directly under the covered entrance, where families had to walk through, with no staff intervening or providing a safe, respectful environment. This wasn’t a minor inconvenience—it was a failure in basic hospitality. I will not return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to anyone visiting Salem. I hope management and corporate leadership take these concerns seriously.

Nice room, friendly staff, good rates

Staffs were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Room was nice and clean but the bed was noisy, every time I took a turn it woke me up. Room 217 first bed. The area round the property felt unsafe. Homeless people were walking around but if you are inside the hotel your fine.

Felt a little unsafe with the homeless across the street, they seemed pretty “active” one guy kept dumping his stuff on the ground & then cleaning it up, did it about 3 times. Not too far from that guy, another guy was running around with his pants around his ankles. Kept having to peak out & check on my car, wasn’t really fearful of them taking anything but more damaging something. Breakfast tho was pretty good in the morning & rooms were comfortable.

I was on a business trip. The staff was friendly and professional. It’s an older facility, but they take good care of it. It had limited breakfast choices, but they were sufficient. Easy on and off the freeway access

Neighborhood is becoming sketchy.

We've stayed here a few times. While it's not the best neighborhood, it's a good "base" for adventures to Silver Falls State Park, Oregon Garden, and other sights. Across I-5 on Lancaster Avenue there's lots of shops and restaurants. The only thing is that we would like more towels in the room. There's one hand, bath, and washcloth per person. Two bath towels would be nice. Our room was clean, linens and bedding good quality, and I didn't feel like I had to use wet wipes all over! Breakfast was plentiful. We'll be returning again.

Easy to find right off the freeway

Rooms were very outdated and need remodeling. The breakfast has very limited options and they had a hard time keeping the 2 options filled. My daughter didn’t get to eat very much because the containers were empty. They definitely need more help in their busy weekends for the breakfast shift.

We were there for almost a month and it was very pleasant. The staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Has keeping was awesome, even offering a pillow case for my wife's personal pillows. Breakfast was good but was always the same thing, maybe shake it up a bit would be good.

The room was clean and comfortable and the price was good. The noise insulation in the room was not very good and you could constantly hear things outside your room very clearly. The breakfast was pretty disappointing.

Everything was wonderful...except the breakfast...please provide more variety. I saw powdered eggs every day...add cheese...potatoes...switch it up...bacon and sausage...not just the same thing over and over...coffee was very weak...watery...service and cook were super nice though. Give them more to work with. Waffles were awesome!

Nice staff. Clean room. But...terrible, worse than terrible breakfast! Worst i ever had. Our entire group commented on how horrible it was.

No water pressure. Beds very uncomfortable. Breakfast is definitely not worth the "free breakfast" advertisement. Someone took a bite out of one of the fake looking eggs and put it back in the container. Hardly any choices.
