DoubleTree by Hilton Charlotte City Center

My stay was okay. The walk from the parking garage to the hotel is a bit of a distance which I disliked. Also, their elevators are extremely slow and one elevator was out of order however, there was no sign stating that. Due to the location of the hotel it’s very noisy late at night which is also a con.

I like everything about the stay except for you need to take that you have a pool on your rooftop off, the pool has been concreted off and there is no rooftop access at all no Terrace.

Central location but parking is off property

Everything was fine just a long walk for parking and the price of parking.

Electricity was out when we arrived

Property was under construction. I was not aware of this before booking. However, the rooms are quite nice and clean and the staff was very helpful. I was excited to use the fitness facility but it too was under construction. The staff informed me of the arrangement with the YMCA. This was a great option and I was able to use the facilities there. Other than not knowing about the lobby and restaurant being under construction, the stay was pleasant.

Hotel entrance difficult to identify and then difficult to drive to. Parking garage inconvenient to lobby, bit complicated to navigate, poor signage. No one tells you until. you check in but for the hotel you must park on the 4th level or higher to avoid being towed. Front desk staff pretty helpful, recommended good restaurant nearby. Valet paring attendant helped me find a corkscrew to borrow, really good service.

Just super noisy and also shared garage but the elevator is not in the hotel. You have to walk around the building to get into the lobby. I wish this was more secure.

Lost power for at least 12 hours and food went bad

Loved the location to the spectrum center. The hotel lobby is being redone so it was difficult to find at first. Parking garage wasn’t connected so you had to walk and it wasn’t labeled great so pay attention when looking. Staff was super friendly and I was so happy to be able to check in a little early.

The service was top notch! The cleanest hotel I have yet to stay in!!

Location is absolutely fabulous. Pretty nice hotel except that I killed 2 baby roaches and found a dead one on my bed the next morning. Didn’t complain because we were only there for one more night. My youngest daughter went and stayed at her sisters about 25 minutes away because she was scared and my middle daughter was joining me with 2 of her friends. I went to lunch with my oldest and my youngest while waiting for my other daughter to show up with her friends and I asked housekeeping to clean my room during that time (they were in the room right next door and I got back it was not done! So I called down to the front desk and complained and they sent housekeeping up about an hour later and my daughter and friends were there by that time and getting ready for their concert so I just said nvm. Got enough towels for us all. Front desk people were all wonderful! Nice and funny seemed always eager to help. Spectrum Center is just about right behind the hotel. Could’ve had where you turn to go into the parking garage marked better! When you are going by the hotel on your right it’s the next driveway. You pass the valet stand and keep going into the garage. Elevators for the hotel are at the top of the ramp on each level. There are elevators that go somewhere else so watch out for that.

Stayed at this hotel for the Nicki Minaj concert. When my friend and I got to the room, there was a water bottle that had been opened and cranked, sheets were dirty, poor lighting.

There was a very strong odor of marijuana in the lobby & common areas. The restaurant was very busy and the host kept saying " check with us later". We tried to order room service but no one would answer the phone. The employees at the front desk were apathetic at best. We won't stay there again

Horrible. Smelled awful, people partying to all hours of the night. Thin walls. Ate at the restaurant and they asked us our order 5 different times...very odd experience

Hotel doesn’t deserve the brand. The front desk staff gave us a room and it smelled, was dirty and very small. We went back to the desk just to ask for another room. They lied to us and they were we have 0 rooms available to switch you too. It was around 4pm and right around check in time. How do you not have single room that we could switch to? His solution was to send the housekeeping back in our room and have us wait in the lobby while they sorted out their failures. I had to ask multiple times and then out of thin air they found one other room that was clean by 4pm and moved us into it. Such a disgrace and not up to brand standards. The second room was also very small and very dirty. Bathroom was the worst, with a coffee straw in the sink, and the bathtub coated in from what looked like people showering with shoes on. At least it didn’t smell. The hotel is located in downtown but the area is very unsafe. Lastly we had sent a package there and they couldn’t even find it. Absolutely avoid this property, it’s old, unmaintained, dirty, and the staff is trained to lie to you. Do not book

Our room was clean but the carpet in the room was damp throughout. We had to wear shoes whenever walking on the carpet; socks became wet immediately. Because of the damp carpet and high humidity in the room (in spite of keeping the AC at 69 degrees) the sheets on the bed felt "sticky". This surprised us since previous stays were awesome.

They let me check in early which was awesome but the sound proofing of the windows is lacking. Can hear every bit of music and traffic from almost the top floor. Otherwise the experience has been great.

The room was nice and clean and the beds were comfortable. There was no microwave in the room and the noise from the club and people with loud vehicles was horrible all night.

Overall great hotel. It was clean, updated and secure. Staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, we stayed on a lower floor and we could hear traffic. Also, thin walls between rooms, could hear the family beside us at night and early morning.

The staff was very accommodating and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The street noise however was so very loud at late hours of the night and continued for hours. Hard to sleep.

The cookies here are better than Nashville. The soundproofing here is not as good as Nashville. The toilets are super low, so anyone with mobility issues or leg strength might be challenged.

Great location but sadly the room is not very noise proof and we were kept up all night from the noise of the neighbor's TV. They were not being obnoxious, no need to call the front desk, but the rooms were just not well "insulated" for sound.

Nice enough hotel. Nothing different to others we've stayed at in Charlotte. Room was spacious, functional. Nice big tv, fridge. Check in was quick. For the money, we wouldn't stay again though. Plenty of other options in the area. The room we were given was right at the elevators. And when I say at the elevators, I don't mean adjacent, I mean our door was in the hall facing the actual elevator doors. There are 3 blocks of elevator doors facing the room, so that's all we heard, day and night. People getting on and off the elevator. People rolling their luggage, people standing outside the elevators waiting and chatting. All very loud the whole day and night. Each floor in the hotel has 2 rooms facing directly at and sharing the space with these elevator banks. I don't know why the hotel was built this way, but we won't return for the chance of that happening again alone. There was a coffee shop area downstairs, but it wasn't open at all when we were there. No signage as to when it would be open. Restaurant opens at 5 pm, but there are plenty of nice places at a walkable distance. We went to RiRa's around the corner. Irish restaurant and bar. Very good. As others noted, you will be woken by people drag racing through the city in the middle of the night. Apparently the windows are double glazed, but that won't matter. Cleaning staff were very insistent on knocking our door multiple times in the morning. We'll stay down the street in the future where breakfast is included.

Loved the location. Everything we needed was within walking distance and there are tons of dining options within a 2 block radius. Hotel was clean and staff was amazing. Unfortunately our refrigerator in our room did not work, the hot water in the shower was not consistent, and our bed was broken. Staff was quick to try to accommodate but we ended up having to work around these situations.

Staff went above and beyond!

Staff were nasty! Wasn’t greeted when I arrived in the lobby… just stares! Tv wasn’t working properly.. when the tech came I spoke he looked at me with an attitude an asked for the remote.. snatched it outta my hand smh! Bed was so hard a low to the floor! Bathroom very small with toddler sized toilet that sat very very low to the floor! Parking does not connect to hotel so expect to walk up an hill a distance to the garage… view was awful! Overall just not a pleasant experience at all!

Arrived to check in at 3:15 and did not get checked in until 5pm. There was a “system malfunction” then housekeeping was behind some only certain rooms were being available to be check in. One staff member, Chloe, wqs snappy and rude to several customers when complaining because other people were being check in before people that had been waiting for over an hour. Likely to never stay here again and tell others no to either. I was late to the eagles concert and missed my dinner reservation due to this horrible check in experience.

We were there for a concert. There was a huge line at check-in. The staff had people serving sparkling grape juice and champagne with snacks. They had meatballs, spring rolls, and hot chocolate chip cookies. They handled it very well!

The stay was great. The lower rating is due to the fact that when we called the hotel to tell them we were checking in late, they could not find the reservation. This created anxiety as to whether we had a room or not. Arriving 5 hrs later, close to midnight, they found the reservation instantly. 5 hours of anxiety for nothing.

Lost my foundation when I changed my room due to the noise level at my original room. The house keeping staff never returned it to me. I knew it has to be there as I used it first day. First time happened to me losing something at the hotel while I am staying there for another 4 nights. The shower did not have cold water in my first room. In my 2nd room the phone does not work. They never bother to fix it. My breakfast was included in the bill, yet every morning they ask me to sign a bill. It’s annoying since it’s buffet style and all they do is pour drip coffee! I really don’t want to be bothered. Not staying there ever again!

Friendly staff and great service.

I don’t remember his name, but the guy at the front desk was so nice! My friend and I checked in for a concert that was unfortunately canceled last minute, which was very disappointing. The guy at the front desk went above and beyond to cheer us up and make us laugh and greeted us each time we came in the lobby.

Only complaint was due to noise from outside. On Friday and Saturday there was extreme car racing or loud stereo from car. I was surprised because the area is very nice. The hotel is close to entertainment and restaurants which is great. I would still recommend this hotel if you’re staying during the weekdays but be prepared for the weekend noise.

It was really close to the train. Not too far from the convention center. The best option for sure.

Great location in Uptown near restaurants and museums. Hotel rooms spacious and clean. Nice staff.

I lived here for the club World Cup, and many soccer fans also selected here due to a walking distance to the stadium. The issue is the hotel building is next to a night bar (I am not sure, but definitely not an apartment). They had a party from 8 pm (when I arrived) to 3 am.

Great place but the evenings were scketchy and not safe. Would not go out after 9:00 pm

Likes: very clean, friendly staff, and in a great location that is easy to walk to things From a single female perspective here is my biggest issue with this place. Getting to and from the parking garage is not ideal. You have to walk through the parking garage, to the elevator, and walk all the way around the building and walk in the front door of the hotel. Although it is well lit, it is also aligned aside several nightclubs and it's just uncomfortable. Usually I get valet for these situations but it was closed by the time I checked-in so I would say that if you are a female and can get valet services it would be a great place to stay. That's really my only complaint. I would stay here again.

Very noisy and was uncomfortable walking from parking lot to hotel. Large night club next door made for interesting people loitering beside entrance to elevator of parking. Was charged a surprise 100$ amenities fee and parking was more expensive through hotel than if I paid parking service. Lots of hidden costs which I wasn’t happy about. Hoping my amenities fee comes off the bill bc I didn’t charge anything to room!! Asked for early check and was told they would call once room was ready- no call and didn’t get into room until after 4.

This is the perfect location for exploring downtown Charlotte. We were there for a show at the Spectrum Center..it was a 5 minute walk. It's surrounded by clubs, restaurants, art, etc and never had to get in my car. The valet parking was great. The cookies are amazing. Rooms are clean, loved the shower. 10 out of 10 will definitely stay again.

Hotel property and staff impeccable. Area is on the fringe of the city center with vagrants, homeless people, closed business and some construction work around it. A couple of nice restaurants nearby.

This was such a great stay! Parking was very easy and the staff were lovely. Check in was smooth and I was very happy with the room I got. It was clean, neat, and had a comfortable atmosphere. The hotel is very convenient in location and a short distance from the Spectrum Center which is what I was there for. I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again!

Overall it is a nice place. But not really good in several things: 1. no microwave oven provided either in room or on same floor. You have to go to the one by the front desk (no plates was provided for heating foods). Not convenient at all. 2. breakfast time started too late for weekends. and 3. parking service was not good.

For a chain hotel this was absolutely superb! Wonderful staff, shiny and clean, huge comfortable bed and TV that felt like a home cinema! Being high up was good for views. The gym could have had more machines (I love a rowing machine!) but apart from that everything was great. The breakfast (extra cost) in the attached restaurant was excellent! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The property was very clean, easily accessible, everyone was friendly. The on property restaurant was very good and the service impeccable.

Chef Luca Annunziata made our stay extra special. He came by the table and talked to the guests. True hospitality!

The area is very walkable, including near a light rail station. Lots of resturants to choose from. Maid service came early when we were still lounging around so we would ask them to come back later. Despite being gone for hours and maids seeing us leave, they never came back and cleaned our entire 4 day stay. The bar had friendly but extremely slow service. The food in the onsite resturant was just okay. But the servers were very sweet.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel was delicious and parking was convenient. We’ll definitely be coming back in the future.

Did not like the setup of our room..We had the junior suite with bed and fold out couch.Bathroon was tiny door barely missed toilet when opening and the sink on the outside of the bathroom was wierd.Just a strange design of the room.Crazy that breakfast was 21 dollars so we definitely didnt have breakfast.Also getting to hotel was a total pain.
