Richmond Hill Hotel

Hotel overall is lovely. Very poor service in the bar area outside during the day. Had to repeatedly ask for service. No 24 hour room service and couldn’t even get a bag of crisps at 11.30pm. Shower overflowed and maintenance came straight away however I was getting ready and putting my make up on in my bra and the guy continued to come in and unblock the shower. The tool he was using was too small and so he went away to get a larger one. Rather saying ‘I’ll come back when you have gone out’ he carried on. The bathroom was a wet mess, wet towels on the floor which were left there when he went and nutty footprints in the shower. Checkout was too busy on the Sunday morning to complain.

Great location (walkable to Richmond riverfront) especially if you want to enjoy the grassland around the river. Lovely cafe hut nearby (down the hill) and easily accessible from Richmond train station by bus and a short, very uphill walk. The common areas of the hotel are very pleasant and comfortable. Nicely decorated and plenty of places to sit etc. A big highlight is the water fountain next to reception which has still and sparkling water on tap. The restaurant is also lovely and I ate breakfast and one dinner there. Large buffet breakfast for 20gbp. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Restaraunt staff were also exceptionally friendly and caring - the breakfast team in particular made an impression on me. Rooms are “ok”. I chose a comfort room (double bed) which was quite small despite it not being the smallest room in the hotel. Even for one person there was very little room, a tiny desk and the bathroom is kind of designed to expand out (hard to describe, there is a moving panel). The bathroom is nice - modern, great shower, separate toilet, but I felt like it could have done with a bit more detailing (no face cloths e.g) and a bit of extra scrubbing. The room had a peculiar smell to it on arrival and I had to keep the window open. Glad for the opening window. The carpet could do with a refresh. Stains in multiple places. Overall though, for two nights, the bed was comfy and it suited my needs perfectly, and I really appreciated the common areas and lovely staff

A one night stay (to visit Kew Gardens and then attend an exhibition/event in Esher the next day). Good location with stunning views of the Thames nearby. Friendly and helpful check-in staff. Parking available immediately outside the hotel, albeit at £15 per night. Room very clean and tidy. We ate out so did not use the hotel restaurant or bar. The air-con seemed to only go down to 19 deg C. We would have liked it to go a bit lower to help cool off after a long day walking around Kew and then up Richmond Hill. But once we got some windows open the temperature was acceptable. Our only negative experience was the shower, which has a very shallow tray. The shower cubicle door has no step to it resulting in water escaping onto the floor. (We managed to mop it up using a couple of towels.)

Lovely property in a beautiful location. Room was excellent - very comfortable, beautiful furniture, extremely comfortable bed, quite a large room, beautiful bathroom. There are quite a few stairs to the rooms so a bit awkward to drag suitcases to and from the lobby. Other than that, a perfect stay. We did not dine at the hotel but did enjoy a nightcap in the bar one evening. The bar is gorgeous and the service was excellent. All in all, a perfect stay.

This is our third trip to Richmond Hill Hotel. The location is perfect to visit friends and family in the area. We planned a trip into London to see a play and did some shopping in Richmond. All very convenient. We love the bar and lounge for drinks and snacks in place of dinner.

Nice hotel with parking although on the expensive side.

All good except for the parking, which was full and expensive.

Lovely hotel , very clean , staff were very polite and always had a smile ,easy reach to local amenities , park is literally 2 minutes walk plenty of shops and restaurants nearby I highly recommend the restaurant in the hotel throughly enjoyed it , will be returning to this hotel

Beautiful hotel across the street from Richmond Park. Pubs and gardens nearby. The restaurant in the Richmond Hill Hotel was delicious.

The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is not a far walk from some good restaurants and is right across the street from a lovely park. I bit far from the train station but a doable walk. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed for two nights - room cleaned and restocked mid stay, with fresh towels, biscuits, water etc. Reception were very friendly and helpful. It was in a great location, right next to Richmond Park and a short walk to Old Deer Park. Buses were just outside and took you into Kew. I would certainly stay again and I would recommend the Hotel.

We've stayed here on 2 previous occasions and have never been disappointed, which is why we booked again. The room was well appointed and, although not particularly large, was well laid out. It was spotlessly clean. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. As we were visiting family, we didn’t eat in the hotel, so can't comment on that. The position of the hotel is good, near enough for a good walk into town, and far enough away to be quiet. And the view from nearby is fantastic.

We went to Twickenham to watch the rugby and this is our go to hotel. This visit was the best yet. Friendly and efficient staff, great food and a lovely atmosphere. The bathroom and mirrors and glass could have done with an extra buff. Well done though. We’ll be back

The hotel is clean and our room was recently refurbished so was in great condition. The standard double was a little small but that's typical in London. The reception and restaurant is stylish and very nice and the staff were very friendly

First stay here and it was perfect for one night. The room was rather small but cleverly designed. Would probably go for a next level room if I was staying for more than one night. Easy parking and great location. The most fantastic thing though are the staff. So friendly and helpful. I want to say a big thank you to Nishi especially for her help, but just also being a pleasure. A real asset to the hotel.

The wifi in my room was not strong enough

This would have been the best stay, staff excellent, so helpful, gorgeous building and excellent breakfast. Unfortunately there was an issue with our AC which meant it could only centrally be switched on and off, and having the windows open allowed for some intense electronic beeping and whirring noises from what looked like an electrical plant outside our room. Sadly that didn't aid good sleep.

Hotel was clean and smelled nice. Room was comfortable and clean but had a very bizarre set up. Toilet was behind glass partitions with no fan or ventilation of any kind, same with shower. All noises and smells from the toilet were basically just in the room. Very strange. Restaurant was nicely stocked for breakfast and staff was always very friendly and helpful our entire stay. I’d definitely stay again. But I do have hunk they need to review the bathroom situation, they need vents of some kind lol

It's a lovely hotel in a good location. It is one of those hotels that just looks and smells amazing. Our room, however was really small and rather than have a separate bathroom and shower- they have a frosted section of the room where the shower and toilet is. Not so bad if you're staying alone but be warned that if you need the loo the person you're with will have a view!

Room was a bit small but very nice. Comfy bed. Just a few minutes from RIchmond Park which was amazing for a run. Five minutes in the other direction to the center of Richmond with many nice restaurants and shops. Restaurant was excellent, if a bit pricy. Would stay here again though!

This hotel exceeded my expectations. We arrived late as we were staying after watching the tennis but we got an upgrade when we arrived. The room was clean and so beautiful. The bed was the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel. We were woken by another guest who clearly didn’t understand that other people were asleep at 2am but that’s not the fault of the hotel. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

The hotel is in a good location and the bed is comfy. The room was a little noisy due to events happening at the hotel. The worst i think was the bathroom. There is no privacy as the bathroom is not a separate room and the glass panels are see through so you can see each other use the loo.

Great stay as always at The RHH, service, rooms etc ere first class. Great location and close to the Thames Pathway and a a nice way to walk into Richmond. We will return to RHH soon, thank you. Peter, Jane and Mia

Terrible. Staff not helpful apart from a gentleman on reception and in restaurant.

Excellent service, especially at breakfast

They have not refunded the £30 which they took from my debit card yet - but I made no purchases at all - and they should have paid me back by now

Everything was pretty great about staying at Richmond Hill Hotel. So why 4 stars and not 5? Well, we left our luggage with reception to store temporarily so we could go grab brunch and go for a walk before departing. Turns out someone stole my tablet computer from my bag during this time. Pretty unnerving that this happened, and I would encourage management to keep vigilant as likely this a serial opportunist thief within their staff. Its left a negative view of this hotel unfortunately and we will not be staying again.

Everything was excellent except a/c unit and tv wasn’t working. The staff moved on fixing it right away. I would definitely stay there again

From the second we arrived we were made so so welcome, the staff couldn’t be more helpful, especially Anna who went over and above to make sure our stay was a special one .. We will be back soon

Love this hotel, the location on Richmond Hill is absolutely stunning. Rooms are comfortable and the hotel itself is cosy and lovely. Away from the hustle and bustle of central London but easily connected with nearby bus stop and train station.

Excellent stay at Richmond Hill Hotel, perfect location for local attractions. Loved being able to walk into Richmond Park to see the deer and the views from the terrace on the hill were stunning. Clean and stylish rooms and great idea to provide refillable water flasks to guests.

Helpful staff in a very convenient setting for an event in Richmond Park

High quality hotel within easy walking distance of Richmond Park & Richmond upon Thames.

High quality property in a great location on Richmond Hill. Easy walk back and forth into Richmond and access to the river walk. Room was spacious and well presented. Staff very helpful and friendly. Will stay here again for sure when we are next visiting Richmond or have a flight from Heathrow.

Been coming for years, really good hotel. Attentive staff. Breakfast is good value with a wide selection of food to choose from. Plus point is parking at the hotel.

We really liked the hotel, it was in great condition and had a nice bar/restaurant. However, I do not like the addition of a service charge for a drinks bill without any warning. This has crept into the hospitality industry and is disingenuous especially when they don't point it out to unwary tourists who then also tip.

Excellent location, we chose it for a few nights to relive old times in SW London to breakup a trip back to the US from Australia. Staff were very attentive. Breakfast buffet was the best I have had for decades - but if you just want a quick continental style breakfast you need to pay the full price for everything. Staff at the restaurant were wonderful for a gorgeous lunch we had outside.

We shared a triple room and it was of a good size for three. A sofa bed best for small child. Hotel itself is lovely, the breakfast room is beautiful and buffet has an excellent selection .

Another fine stay at this hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have come across at a hotel. Location is outstanding, opposite the views from Richmond Hill with Richmond Park almost next door.

If you love historical properties, this is perfect. The hotel is beautiful and prettily furnished. The staff are lovely, and the food is excellent. The buffet was so, so good. They serve the full English. Yum!
