The staff was amazing! But I was charged an incidental fee twice due to an error by the front desk clerk and on my last day, the elevator broke and I had to walk up and down 12 flights with my luggage. Also the hours for the restaurant/ bar are very limited. Other than that, it was an alright place to stay. Not far from downtown.

Two elevators didn't work at all, the other two made unhappy sounds. Had to switch out the coffee maker FOUR times the first morning to find one that worked. visible patina of dust on the chest of drawers top and various size and aged crumbs under the desk from more than one skipped vacumming. Room was given 'complete redo' including bed linens while I was out. When I got back, there were only three pillows instead of four, dust still on some of the furniture and crumbs still on part of the floor. In their defense, the staff I was in frequent commiunications with due to the above (and more I didn't put down) was apologetic and trying their best. They took one night off the bill entirely and refunded the final night of the pre-paid four night stay, so I ended up staying there three nights and paying for two of them. I applaud them for that. Also, the hotel is on a rise, but the parking lot has signs posted "this lot floods during heavy rains". Seriously. And it's a rough neighborhood immediately around the hotel.

Property wanted to cancel reservations as I was arriving because of elevator problem. This would have given me no place to stay as i was in mid-flight towards Norfolk. I had to insist that i wanted to stay and wouldn't mind climbing some stairs! When i got there they had one elevator working at least but even this went off and on during my stay. Fortunately hotel refunded for the inconvenience. Still, i would recommend making sure the elevators work before booking at this location as it seems to be a frequent problem.

During our weekend stay of 4 elevators one was working. This is a 12 floor hotel so the wait for the single elevator was substantial. Our second night there we got on the elevator got to the 12th floor and the doors would not open. We were stuck on the elevator for over an hour. There was no air and it was easily over 100 degrees. I pressed the emergency call button requesting help….they tried to get their maintenance person to reset but I ultimately had to call 911. The fire department eventually were able to get us out. It was concerning to have only one working elevator. The hotel did give us that night free of charge. There were other issues as well. The air in the room struggled to keep it at 78 when we had it set to 70….the room was not fully cleaned. The bed was made but the coffee was not restocked and the bathroom not cleaned .

I was surprised by their green clean policy, meaning they don't claim the room every day during your stay. I was also surprised by the $15 a night parking fee. Didn't like that all entrances from the parking lot were at the second with no elevator access.

The front desk agent customer service was uninviting. She displayed no knowledge of the check in process . The pool was not open, staff was cleaning after we were there three days . The restaurant only had a staff of one so they were overwhelmed with orders but pleasant . The restaurant was not available for breakfast in the morning . They charged my card twice without my knowledge and did not give a valid explanation. Funds were returned but the inconvenience of not having my funds at the time was unacceptable. The manger was understandable but was rushing through the conversation instead of letting the customer explain then talk.

Seems like everything is breaking down or they are out of something. Marketplace is a joke. I requested coffee for my room for three days and they said they didn't have anything. They have 4 elevators and we are lucky one is working. Freddie the houseman was wonderful and did what he could with what he had.

Never again. Cockroaches in the room. Ick! Could not sleep as i imagined bugs crawling on me. I killed some, but you KNOW there's more. Food in the only restaurant was overcooked and not edible. Parking a ridiculous $15 per day. There was no free breakfast as expedia advertised.

My room was not available until very late in the evening. The room had a connecting door to the adjacent room. The people next door were very loud. I could hear all of their conversations. The climate control for the room was terrible.

Priced well. The bed was clean and comfortable. The room was partially remodeled, but don't look too close. Under the sink was a bucket to catch the leaking drain, and moderately filthy if you looked too close. The view was great and the location is convenient to down town. The lobby is cute, and the bartender was friendly.

The hotel was nice, and the room was good. My room had a thermometer on the wall, but it didn't work - I had to use the old-fashioned heater/AC unit on the floor. Also, it's a bit hard to figure out how to get into the hotel from the parking area without carrying your suitcase up steps. But the room was nice, the hotel was clean, and they have a restaurant on site, which was good. It was also a good location.

Do you like the scent of Dollar Tree candles? How about lopsided beds that scoot all over the room? Outdated decor and and raucous atmosphere? Then this hotel is for you! Upon entering, you’re immediately suffocated by the air freshener. Once checking in, you’ll be directed upstairs to your room where the hallways will take you back to the bygone era of 1993. “Meh” is the best way to describe the room, and if your stay is anything like mine, you’ll get to know the front desk staff well as you call them three times per night about people screaming in the hallway and slamming doors all night. So exciting to be in a hotel with so many guests experiencing their first time out of the zoo!

I realize this hotel is being/has been updated from it's previous old state,but the attempt is obvious. My room was clean overall, some of the bedding had stains. The bathroom was veru small,not what I was expecting from the photos. The walls are THIN, thankfully i had a corner room and only shared a wall with one other room. However there is about and inch of space from the floor to the bottom of the front door, so you hear EVERYTHING happening in the hallway. And you can hear other people talking CLEARLY from the vent in the bathroom. The room was ok for the 1 overnight, but i would not stay again

The room was decent sized but the bathroom was small. They attempted to remodel it but the work isn’t done very well. Otherwise the room isn’t bad. The staff are nice.

Customer service need to improve , I ask for a iron like 5 times , time for my reunion was coming and I needed an iron my dress I had to go ask a housekeeper in the hall way if she can get me one from another room ! Thank God she did .. I call a few times to the front desk and nobody answer .

The staff was great -- NO complaints there. The app to check in was worthless. Did the ID pic and vehicle info, meant nothing at checkin. The main lobby was immaculate. The hallways were humid and needed some help. The room was clean, but one of the two beds had sheets that looked like someone polished their shoes with them. The parking layout sucks. Again, the staff was UBER helpful, no complaints with them.

Checkin took 45 minutes and checkout was worst. Upon checkout we were told we did not pay when we could show the statement that the room was paid in full and the $100 deposit came out of the account. The front desk attendant threatened to call the police even before she called a manager even though we were calm. There was no manager on duty so she called one on her cell phone and they said yes they paid they are fine. She looked at us called us thieves and told us she still doesn’t believe we paid. The entire experience was devastating to my daughter who was in tears. We will not be returning and filing a formal complaint.

May stay was outstanding. The staff went out of their way to ensure my needs were met. The staff in the restaurant were very pleasant and extremely polite. But the wait time was over one hour for breakfast on one occasion and forty minutes another time. The cook had to serve the guest, which took him away for his duties in the kitchen. This should not happen. I must say, once the food arrived, It was very good! Once again the staff, made every effort to make up for the delays. I will be staying there on my next trip next year.

I had a reservation however never actually got to stay there. I was called only hours before my intended check in time and told their elevator wasn't working and that they would be cancelling my reservation. I get that things like that are unpredictable however I was simply given the names of two other hotels that were more expensive and completely booked. I felt like more should have been done on their end including actually making arrangements for me rather than just leaving me to fend for myself hours before my arrival.

I was here for one night. The first thing, I wasn't aware of the neighborhood's condition. It is unsafe. This is the first hotel I stayed in that was completely gated. I did not come back out to eat because I saw the people laying on the ground as I drove up. I wasn't aware of the $15 parking charge but given the neighborhood, they know you want risk street parking. Usually the front desk tells you the charges. We discussed parking and no mention of the fee. The lobby is nice. Once I stepped off the elevator, it felt like a motel. They spent a large amount of money on the lobby. The room was ok. It had a view of downtown. The AC unit smelled like mildew so I just turned it off. All night I could hear the doors slamming from I guess the other rooms. I put my security wedge under the door. My washcloths were not clean as there was someone's hair on them. So I definitely will not be back. For the money they charged, it simply did not match my experience.

This hotel was dirty and needed renovation. Our drawers did not work and stayed open. The hotel is leaning ( not level ) in some places. The staff was nice, but lights in the parking area were dim and the area did not feel safe.

The hotel was conveniently located to the location I was visiting, but not an area that's well suited for tourists or walking around to explore. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were updated, everything was clean. Older building , with a funky parking situation. Breakfast was good, staff was friendly. I don't think its far to the waterfront from there, and there are many good restaurants within a few blocks, but we were told not to walk.

Front desk staff were cordial & tried to help with no hot water complaint. Property was outdated. We were given rooms on 6th floor via telephone prior to arrival. Upon arrival the 2 reserved rooms were not available & they attempted to put us on different floors. Finally we were give rooms on the same floor. No complimentary breakfast & parking is too expensive. $15 for each night.

Location is perfect. Hotel is dated. Modernizations not quality. Services close early. No hair dryer in room. Room was started cleaning but never finished. Parking fee. Charge for simple breakfast buffet.

The restaurant downstairs was a bit pricey and the breakfast wasn't great. The rooms are very old, our sink was clogged pretty much the whole time even after they put drano in. There was a crack on the ceiling that looks like there was either water damage or the roof is close to caving in. I'm not from this area but I definitely would not recommend staying here. The staff was all very kind and helpful.

I had a decent stay and the room was fine. I heard from other people staying multiple cars were broken into while we were there. The restaurant was fine but having one bar tender to take care of everyone is not enough. She was great though. Overall a good stay just don’t bring a car.
