Hotel is great location-wise. Restaurants, etc, fine... Room was dirty. Carpet stained. Opened a/c filter and it hadnt been changed in a LONG time. My son swam in pool, and had severe reaction to the incredible amount of chlorine...eyes swole up and got very red.

I really liked the hotel ;however , the only issue we had was the elevator services. The waits were long because there are different sets of elevators you have to use in order to get to the rooms. People were getting frustrated and crowding the hotels which is not safe .

Location was perfect for everywhere I needed to go. Only thing I did not expect or like was that parking was a separate fee. But they did allow the payment to be deducted from the security deposit so that worked out.

There was a huge convention going on which was beyond their capacity to manage. One of three elevators meant to transport guests to rooms was out of order from the time I arrived because it had been overloaded; and was never repaired in the four days. When I arrived at 10pm, my front desk check in was fine, but it then took me over a half hour to get to my room because of the elevator fiasco. I even went back to the front desk and asked if there could be access to the freight elevator for which I was dismisssed. Toward of the fiasco, suddenly a back of house person brought us back to the service elevator and dropped us at our floors. When I arrived on the 10th floor, there bags of trash at every door as if waiting for a city garbage truck to make pickup. That persisted throughout my 44 day visit I have stayed at this property a number of times in the past year and find myself thinking never again. Management is clueless. The restaurants are great but the lodging sucks.

No room service menu and the TV connection where it said "in room dining" didn't work. The elevators were very slow and filled with people who also said they'd been waiting. Overall since the pandemic - service isn't nearly as good.

God Bless the property it self was nice they just need to get a Better inspector that goes behind house keeping we there for one night my wife wanted me to make a big fuss about it we cleaned it ourselves for the first time in my life and just didn’t leave a tip.overall the property was nice 2 👍👍 up for Kody at front desk very polite and helpful.

Most Staff was wonderful. Housekeeping staff didn’t clean our room even though we were told they would clean daily. Had to ask for clean towels and TP. Toilet seat did not fit the toilet and was a little dangerous

First, it wasn’t really the room I thought I was getting, the pic didn’t line up to what I got, then, I didn’t know you get charged for parking and I feel like that should be included in the price for how much I’m paying for it. I’ve never heard a hotel charging their guest to park in their establishment. This was a surprise stay for my husband for his birthday on New Years, because he heard of this hotel and thought it would be nice and I told him it was since I’ve stayed here before for my birthday years ago and celebrated a friend’s birthday there before. Also, we didn’t have breakfast there because I believe it’s another charge to do so. For the amount I’m paying I could have just got a resort stay at the oceanfront at VA Beach for less but that’s on me. Also, the blanket had a blood stain on it, the blinds in the room were so difficult to pull down for privacy and back again when we wanted to see the view; felt like they were going to break and would hurt my hand from straining. Even the mini fridge seemed like it didn’t work, didn’t keep none of our stuff really cold and last but not least, for a high value hotel, and now being 2026, why we don’t have microwaves in the rooms, then you send a young lady to bring it and not a man, that’s crazy…The only nice part was the view, that I had to pay for and the Christmas decorations, oh and also the guy who checked me in, sorry I forgot his name but he was great

Property is dated! Room was musty and not clean (hair on the floor) upon check in. When I asked to move, front desk lady asked if we touched anything in the doom. I suspect she was going to assign it to another guest….despite what I reported.

the hotel it self was gorgeous with all the Christmas decorations. The staff and cleaning crew was very nice. Our room had a panoramic view of river and it was beautiful! Downside was there was a questionable stain on the couch. Visited the Saltine Restaurant for food and drinks .. Drinks we good but the food was just ok ( it didn’t have much flavor or lack of seasoning) I had the crab cakes and my Husband had a steak and potatoes and it really lacked flavor so i wouldn’t recommend Also tried the Grain on our second night and the atmosphere was good as well as the drinks. They also have a live band and dancing.

The walls, floor, and phone were dirty. The garage can liners were not opened in the trash cans. Also, after the first night we requested that morning to have the room cleaned. But upon return at about 11:00pm, the room had not been cleaned or serviced. Then we requested right away to have clean towels and wash clothes brought up, which took them about 1 hour. So it was a big inconvenience.

Was the for an overnight stay. Walking distance to the Granby Theater. I was given a handicap room which wasn’t an issue until I took a shower. There was no water pressure I mean none. There was no shower head only a handheld. I called to the front desk but they didn’t have any alternative rooms. So needless to say I wasn’t completely happy with my stay but I did love the location

Stayed here a few times in the past but this time the rooms felt and looked run down. Holes in ceiling, carpet pulled up. Furniture was dirty. Time to redo some rooms. Room service was awful but the restaurants and service was good

The hotel it’s self was beautiful. Staff was helpful. Room was clean and modern. My complaints lie with the slowness of the elevators, the noise of the open bar on level 5 and hearing the neighbors above us at 3:30am. Elevators were always packed full and only two seemed to be working and they were also very slow. The roof top bar on level 5 was insanely loud. Even with ear plug and a white noise maker we could not drain out the bass coming from the live music. It continued until 2am. Then to be woken up by the guests above of banging around in the middle of the night. Made for a not so pleasant stay. I also think there should be more signage coming in to the hotel about where the registration desk is walked around aimlessly for a minute before having to ask.

First it took two hours to check in. They said system was down or slow, they said sorry but did not feel they needed to recompense me in any way. The parking scan they gave me did not work 3 out of 4 times. Finally the 4th time they did it it worked, They said sorry, which is my overrall review of this place "sorry" and not worth the money. We only had one day there to go orientation for my son's college and I wasted hours with check-in and parking issues. Even their highly rated restaurent "Saltene" was below average. Of the things we ordered one was outstanding, 3 average at best and two unedible. I have stayed and Hilton's for over 30 years and this was the most expensive and the worst.

I was down to NORVA for a Shipmate's Navy retirement. I had not been to downtown Norfolk in over 40 years. Wow, what a difference time has made. During my stay, the Hilton team provided outstanding service in every area. I enjoyed the variety of restaurants in the building. Lastly, the room with a view of the water loved it.

Great location and close to nearby attractions. All hotel staff that I had contact with were extremely rude and not helpful. No parking in hotel parking lot, no valet, took a hour and half to get our luggage after arrival, room keys didn’t work, damaged lights and broken items in rooms.

Our stay was amazing, great location and view. Customer service each time needed was absolutely outstanding.The convenience of the restaurants was awesome. On top of the food being great. The parking garage was easy to access with more than enough space. I have zero complaints with this stay.

Clean, friendly staff, perfect location for us. We ate breakfast at the restaurant on 2nd level. Very good food and service. We never had to take car out of garage. We were close enough to walk to the sights and restaurants we wanted to see (boat ride on river, museum, battleship.) very pleasant trip!

Our experience at this hotel was absolutely outstanding! Every employee we came in contact with was courteous, cheerful and helpful. Our room was exceptionally clean and the food at The Grain Restaurant was very good. We are already planning to visit the Norfolk area again this fall and we certainly stay at this hotel.

Property had dirty soiled sheets by the hotel room door, Room Service took an hour to deliver 2 side salads and a cup of soup that was half empty. The food was delivered in a paper bag, Had dinner in one of their restaurant and only 1 server for the entire restaurant and finally got our food to go because we had waited over an hour to get drinks and still no food.

The Main is a very beautiful, luxurious hotel. Every staff member we came in contact with were so welcoming. The restaurant on the first floor’s restaurant, Saltine has amazing food, excellent service and very pleasant staff. Definitely a 5 star restaurant! I also have found the rooms are very comfortable and clean!
