The property is very outdated and the parking situation is pretty terrible. The parking spots are very narrow, when someone pulls in next to you in a big truck, you’re not able to get into your car. But, what’s worse is the building that we were in did not have hot water. We got no warning that the Mount Baker building was having hot water issues. The gentleman in the room next to us told us that the front desk informed him that they were having intermittent hot water issues. We were never told that, and had I known that I would’ve requested to be in another building, nobody wants to take a cold shower. I would not recommend this red lion location to my worst enemy. The African-American woman at the front counter was very unfriendly, and it was clear that she did not want to be at work that day.

Pool is very nice though the pool is unheated. Even on a hot summer’s day the pool was too chilly to swim for a prolonged time once the sun went down. Also, the patio door in our room was quite janky and I questioned the overall security of the door.

The good things first: the room and hallways were clean, the bedding and towels were fluffy and nice, the grounds were clean and well groomed, and the staff were efficient and nice. The not good things: we felt less than safe as the exterior doors had no locks and we were in a building that was unstaffed, our window did not lock nor shut properly. We were charged $13.50 a night to park in an empty parking lot, the Expedia listing shows $12 a night. The listing says the pool is open until October but it was closed and had been for some time. The listing says there is daily housekeeping; there is not, if you need your trash emptied you can put the can in the hall and somebody is supposed to pick it up. The breakfast baked goods were expired the day we picked them up and they ran out of drinking water.

When booking, didn’t say anything about an extra parking fee, only to arrive and have to pay extra money for parking. I went back and checked and nowhere said parking would incur a fee. I understand paying parking if you were going to use the parking and the go somewhere else, but I am paying to stay there - of coarse I am going to bring a car. Add the amount to the fee or don’t charge.

Great place if you want to be very central. Easy to get to downtown Bellevue and surrounding areas. Very comfortable bed. Pretty clean. Breakfast was ok. Pool is not heated.

Outer door locks to individual buildings were not secure, trash and dog feces waste bags left laying for days, only one access to pool open despite many access points available, breakfast was not refilled, so if you weren’t there first it was gone. Constant yelling children and barking dogs- the literal reason I booked a room away from home, to get away from those sounds. Overall, not the worst stay ever, but for almost $300 a night, they need to do a LOT better!

Tried to check in 2 hours early after a 6 hour drive. They said check in was at 4 not 2 in an arrogant manner. That would be ok but then they said it would cost an extra 75 dollars for 2 hours. Then they charged 16.50 for parking in a non secured lot. Signs posted not responsible for vehicle. In the meantime they were using half the parking lot for another hotels overflow. Never again

Bathtub had dirty lines in it. Wallpaper was falling off. Window curtains were dirty/stained. Shower curtain was stained. Remote control had some dingy gross build up. Not worth the price paid

The Lobby was nice and the location was very upscale, but the building itself was very run down and dirty. There was a Hilton on one side of the hotel that made the Red Lion look extremely rundown. The carpets in the halls were extremely dirty, there was trash piled up and an old wood crate around the door when I first walked in, made it feel extra dirty. The room itself was clean, bed was very comfortable, the shower was nice, as long as I was in the room it was fine. Also I got in early and tried to check in at 3:00, staff was not willing to help at all even kind of laughed at me. Rude

Staff was pretty dismissive with trying to accommodate early check in. The building and the rooms are in really rough shape. There was a smooshed French fry in the hallway carpet that wasn’t vacuumed the three days we were there. The back screen door wasn’t attached and the sliding door has seen better days. The best parts were the beds were comfortable and there were a lot of charging ports by the bed. I would look somewhere else when we come back.

The staff is wonderful and the beds are comfy. Slept great. The rooms are a bit musty, and several amenities are no longer functional. No bathroom extraction fan, no pool, peeling wallpaper, no outer locks on building. Easy grab and go breakfast.

Great location to get on the highway, but that also means it can get a bit loud. The downtown area where the mall and park are is a walkable distance from the hotel. The shower was a little slow in draining, but not horrible. Breakfast was just bagels, fruit, yogurt and a few other options, but just very basic stuff. Hotel is a little old, but clean and well-kept. I would stay here again.

July 2025. Wifi was good, cleanliness of room was good, shower water pressure was great, water was hot. A/C took forever to cool down the room (like one degree an hour, no joke) (I was in room 219). I put on the do-not-disturb doorknob tag for the first two days, then left it off for the third, then came back the third night and saw room service hadn't stopped by. So I called them and requested room service for the fourth day, and the front desk said requests are for the following day (meaning they'd stop by day 5). They asked if I wanted "Linens changed or a light refresh" and I said "a light refresh" (because our bed sheets were still good and instead I was concerned about the trash and lack of coffee). So I get back to the room the night of day 5 and literally all that was done was they walked in and left some more bath towels. No re-ups on coffee or hand soap bars or cups or anything like that. No trash taken out. Old towels were not taken away. It was baffling that that's what they would consider a "light refresh room service". There is on-the-go breakfast but we opted for the "20% off" dine-at-the-hilton tickets, which was walkable. Beds were very comfortable. Great price for what you get (minus room service), but maybe bring earplugs, because you never know who else will be staying here, and I'm not sure if it's thin walls or floors or windows, but some guests were very noisy during the night.

The rooms are not sound proof. I could hear the drawers opening and shutting in the room next door at 8am. I could hear all the chatter from the hallway as well. The black out curtain didn’t go all the way past the window, letting in all the natural light starting at 6am.

check in and check out was easy some of staff we interacted with were either rude or unhelpful and they don’t do a lot of things that basic hotels do, like daily room service. you have to register for it each day at the front desk 24 hrs ahead of time but for most part it suited our needs and was good 👍

The staff was great, their service was top notch! The Stay was fine beds were comfy pillows not so much. The room felt cheap and our bathroom door sounded like it was breaking every time I shut it. Could hear other rooms doors slamming constantly. overall it was a well run not so great hotel.

This is a much older hotel than I thought it would be, and the interior smells like an old building with musty carpets, for example. The “double beds” were the smallest I’ve seen, but they were comfortable for one person. I was disappointed in the lack of friendliness of the desk employees; they were curt in their responses with not a friendly nod or smile. All three times I was at the desk, I was the only one there, so it wasn’t because they were super rushed. Finally, the “grab and go” breakfast was decent, but I went alone to get it for my three children and myself, and I was able to get two (for four people) only after nearly insisting (with a look of scorn from the staff). For the price, it was okay. I will not stay there again.

I have been coming to this hotel with my Japanese customer for stays in Bellevue over the last four years about every 6-8 weeks. My Japanese customers arrive in the morning after a 10 hour flight and most of the time have been able to check in early. This time the hotel charged us $75 to check in early. It seems a gouge if you have rooms ready, you are being charged $117 a night, then they charge you $75 for four hours. Plus taxes so $85+ to check in four hours early. I guess you get what you pay for, but this up charge on repeat customers was a bit much.

Horrible desk person at check in. We went to check in around 9 pm and no one as at front desk. We searched, knocked on door and talked loudly to see if anyone was working. After 15 minutes he came out and said he was in back eating dinner and could hear us but didn’t think it was necessary to let us know he was back there. He was the rudest hotel desk person I have ever met. The room was fine, the breakfast was basically juice and apples as they ran out of everything else.

Overall, the stay was alright. Not the cleanest rooms by any means but nothing too concerning. However, our door did randomly stop locking in the middle of our stay. The staff was really responsive and fixed the issue within the hour after we noticed, it was just off putting not knowing how long the door was unlocked, and anyone could have walked into our room, especially being 2 young women.

Only 1 person working behind the desk to check in guests on a Saturday night. Stood in line for an hour and 10 minutes waiting to get checked in. 450 to 6. Some guests waited longer. Completely unacceptable. Will not stay again

The gentleman who checked us out was very courteous, helpful, and polite. He is a credit to Red Lion. The hotel itself is old and could do with a massive remodel and renewal. The corridor outside our room had a ceiling leak which a trash bin was being used to collect any possible rain. Easy connection to the Link Light Rail 2 line but no use for going to Seattle until they finally get the line working across the floating bridge.

Hotel was way older than I anticipated, bathroom felt a little sketchy like I should keep sandals on. There wasn’t a breakfast but a “grab and go”microwavable breakfast sandwich or fruit option. It did the job, but it wasn’t a meal for a family on the road. The pool was fun for the kids, right by our room so that was nice!

Excellent staff, very friendly, very helpful. The breakfast is mediocre. No eggs or sausage or anything. Just bagels, cereal, apples, bananas, and jimmy deans frozen breakfast sandwiches. Besides the mediocre breakfast, the rooms are quiet, clean, and like I said the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Super safe area and close to downtown Bellevue. Maybe 20 minute drive to Seattle downtown with no traffic.

The property was older and needs a little renovation. They were constantly running out of breakfast items. But overall, I did enjoy my stay. It was very close to the train station and public transportation was fairly easy to get around Seattle

I last stayed here 5 years ago and was quite impressed with the restaurtant on site, especially the hot breakfast. In choosing this hotel, I picked it because the website still showed pictures of the hot breakfast. Upon arrival I learned I missed the fine print that said they now only have breakfast to go - which wasn't diabetic friendly. When I asked about the hot breakfast and cited the pictures on their website, they said "We've tried to take those pictures down." I specifically chose this hotel because of the pics of the hot breakfast I thought they still offered. If they can't take the pictures down, then they should put a notice in larger font that states there is nolonger a hot breakfast option. So instead of saving money on buying breakfast during my 3 day trip, I had to shell out for a proper breakfast each day. So while the room was clean, and the bed comfortable, I feel like there was a bit of bait and switch taking place.

the complimentary breakfast is really bad. What the hotel provide include snack bar, one frozen sandwich ( each customer is limited to one and you need to use microwave to defroze/heat it up) +yogurt + banana/apple. Nothing is freshly cooked.
