Wow. What a great establishment. The location is great everything well kept and clean. Felt safe and secure in the room. You have everything you need in the kitchen and in the bathrooms will definitely stay again if I am back in Picton. Thank you!

Hostel with several full service hotel rooms (which is what i had). The front door had a secure access code. The room was clean, linens soft and in good condition. The kitchen and dishes were new and in really nice condition and much better than similar hotels. Probably the best experience Ive had with any similar lodging. I slept well, but you are a couple of blocks from the ferry, so you may hear heavy trucks on the road early in the morning. It was quiet enough for me. There were multiple options for breakfast. The desk staff were responsive and made sure i had everything i needed. The towels were soft. It was a perfect fast overnight stay.

Exceptional value for backpackers and people who want to travel cheaply. It was a pleasant environment, good kitchen facilities and the communal showers were hot and powerful. Position was perfect for travellers without car. Right next to train station and ferry.

I needed a place to stay for a couple of hours and this location was perfect. The Intercity bus stop oblique opposite the hostel and the ferry terminal is next door. I booked the same day and the turn around response was exceptional and the self check in directions was easy to follow. The room was clean, the water power was strong and the kitchen was fully stock.

It was an amazing stay. From the time I arrived until the time I left, I felt like I was with family. Everything was cleaned regularly and supplies were replenished as necessary. The owner takes pride in her property and has great compassion for people. I plan to return.

The room was in good condition, amenities ok and the people running the accommodation very friendly and easy to talk to. Unfortunately it wasn't very peaceful due to train and port noise also throughout the night and made it hard to sleep.

We arrived at midnight so checkin was great. Very easy. The main ussue was no heating. The window in our room was open for ventilation but at 6°C outside, it was a bit chilly, and with no heater we had to warm ourselves up. The duvet was warm though, and the bed comfortable enough. Breakfast was a bit confusing as there were what seemed to be a lot of traverllers' food lying around, with no indication of what was provided. Just had to guess. Leaving a heater in the room for us would have been helpful.

Theoretisch schicke Unterkunft aber leider hatten wir einige Probleme mit unserem Aufenthalt. Unser Zimmer war direkt neben der Haustür. Die schließt extrem laut und die halbe Nächte gehen Gäste ein und aus. Also Nix mit Nachtruhe. Frühstück gab’s dann auch nicht wirklich. Milch war aus und noch zwei Scheiben Toast übrig als wir aufgestanden sind. Während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts war auch niemand an der Rezeption.

This is more of a backpackers vibe. We booked a whole room for a family of 4 (it had 3 bunk beds and a queen bed). Continential breakfast is provided, abd while average , its not bad for budget accommodation. Edit picton is the other place we stayed that might be more suitable for families. This place wasnt bad either, probably lote suited to singles.

Check-in was smooth and easy. Caitlin and Nicci were not present in the hostel when I arrived but had left me a nice note w instructions and key to my room. Facilities basic but v clean. But to clarify, this is not a hotel but a hostel. I had booked a private room w a double bed, which was spartan but comfortable (might be nice to have a reading lamp?). Bathroom/shower area (co-ed) downstairs. Great that breakfast is provided, and other guests I met were nice and cleaned up after themselves. But I was woken up just after 3am (!) by a half dozen people making themselves breakfast, laughing and talking quite loudly, clanging pans and dishes around, as though completely oblivious to how loud they were. And I'm a deep sleeper. Went on for a long while, kind of ruined my sleep. I've no idea how regular this is, but that should not happen, even for a hostel? And for my one night stay I was not paying hostel prices ($85NZ). A sign somewhere said that breakfast was available from 6am onwards, but with no one was on the property to enforce this nothing could be done. I opened my door at some point looking at them quizzically, didn't want to be 'that person', but nothing changed. :(. This explains my rating. The good thing is that they're right beside the train station, which meant I just trundled over there in the morning at 10 to check in for my trip.

This place is a gem. Located across the street from Intercity bus, next door from the train station and 50m away from the ferry terminal, the location couldn't be better! There weren't a lot of people when I stayed and instead of cramming everyone in a single dorm, they let each guest have an entire dorm. I appreciated the gesture very much. Moreover they provide towels (not common in NZ unfortunately) and there is breakfast available and included. I highly recommend this place

We arrived at midnight so checkin was great. Very easy. The main ussue was no heating. The window in our room was open for ventilation but at 6°C outside, it was a bit chilly, and with no heater we had to warm ourselves up. The duvet was warm though, and the bed comfortable enough. Breakfast was a bit confusing as there were what seemed to be a lot of traverllers' food lying around, with no indication of what was provided. Just had to guess. Leaving a heater in the room for us would have been helpful.

Llego a recepción a las 6.30pm y me han dejado una nota con las llaves. En toda la estancia, no vi a nadie del hotel. Tienen otro hotel cercano y si necesitas algo, tienes que llamar o ir al otro sitio. El detalle que me correspondia ppr estancia, obviamente, no lo huvo. Los baños y duchas son mixtos. A las 11 de la noche llegaron un grupo grande que estuvieron liandola hasta las mil, por lo que dificil dormir. El "desayuno" pone que es "sélf service" y la leche y yogurt están en la nevera... pues en la nevera hay de todo de todo el mundo y no sabes que puedes coger, y el resto de desayuno es pan bimbo, 2 mermeladas, crema de cacahuete y cereales. Lo bueno, la habitacion era amplia, las instalaciones están bien y la cocina tiene de todo para usarse. Y está a 4min del ferry. Economico, e instalaciones decentes. Eso si.

Hostel with several full service hotel rooms (which is what i had). The front door had a secure access code. The room was clean, linens soft and in good condition. The kitchen and dishes were new and in really nice condition and much better than similar hotels. Probably the best experience Ive had with any similar lodging. I slept well, but you are a couple of blocks from the ferry, so you may hear heavy trucks on the road early in the morning. It was quiet enough for me. There were multiple options for breakfast. The desk staff were responsive and made sure i had everything i needed. The towels were soft. It was a perfect fast overnight stay.

Theoretisch schicke Unterkunft aber leider hatten wir einige Probleme mit unserem Aufenthalt. Unser Zimmer war direkt neben der Haustür. Die schließt extrem laut und die halbe Nächte gehen Gäste ein und aus. Also Nix mit Nachtruhe. Frühstück gab’s dann auch nicht wirklich. Milch war aus und noch zwei Scheiben Toast übrig als wir aufgestanden sind. Während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts war auch niemand an der Rezeption.

This is more of a backpackers vibe. We booked a whole room for a family of 4 (it had 3 bunk beds and a queen bed). Continential breakfast is provided, abd while average , its not bad for budget accommodation. Edit picton is the other place we stayed that might be more suitable for families. This place wasnt bad either, probably lote suited to singles.

Cheap, friendly and convenient place to stay in Picton. Tea, coffee, milk, bread etc available in the kitchen. Free, easy parking. I would stay again

Nice facility, though no beach but nice lawn overlooking the water. The area for on-top kayaking is very small. - Skip the "happy hour" - no reduced prices and was not al all social the night I was there. They tried to pull me away from my lunch so they could sing the good-bye song, even though the couple and I weren't leaving for 2 hours... The hostel guests are physically separated from hotel guests for dinner, and since I was the only hostel guest, I sat by myself (while a large group was on the other side of the eating area), was served last and was still eating when entertainment started. I left without desert because I just wanted to get out of there! + The villagers who put on the show were very welcoming and must have worked hard to put on the show. Very good!
