The parking price was insane. 50.00 to park after spending alot of money on the rooms

Do not rely on the airport shuttle. I waited 45 minutes for it. Then when it arrived the driver got out of the shuttle and said “y’all gonna have to wait, it’s time for me to go”. Was not given any solution by staff and ended having to take a costly $60 cab.

Unfortunately you have to pay for parking and the parking garage is narrow. No lobby entrance into hotel from parking garage, you have to take your luggage down the stairs and exit the garage from the front in order to get to the hotel.

Elevated walkway to Penn Station Newark for easy access to NYC. Shuttle pick up from P4 lot at EWR. Drop off to departure terminal at EWR.

Airport shuttle didn’t come for 45 minutes despite scheduled for every 30 minutes. Not even a complimentary water bottle.

Hotel was nice. I waited an hour for the shuttle from the airport to get there.

This hotel is physically connected to a transportation hub so walking indoors is a unique treat!

ran out of Toilet Paper... had to ask for it.. old dispenser was emptied but none replaced... same w/ soap... overpass closed except for one time to trains even in daytime... by 10pm gates for taxi etc at station side locked as well. had to walk around station and deal with DANGEROUS area!!! Why have an overpass if not open for us!!!

The non working escalator was the only complaint. It was not functioning for the entire stay. Also the alternate entry was poorly lit and looked dangerous late at night upon arrival. During the day the alternate entrance was fine and well lit.

Great location next to station… here is a picture of the station from my room… there is even an enclosed walk way to and from station to hotel. Recommend.

We stayed here in 2021 and picked it again because it was great, clean, and connected to the train station. The room wasn’t as clean and it was a hassle for housekeeping to give us towels, wash cloths, and toilet paper. Our bathroom sink was clogged and maintenance did come to fix it, but it still wasn’t resolved 100%. I was a little disappointed with the stay this time around especially considering the charges.

Room was okay temp wise and to the naked eye was clean, bed was comfy... but the sheets had stains (like ink stains), the towels had hair on them, the tub walls were rusting. You have to ask for the cookie now when before they would make sure you had itupon check in.

The room smelled like mold with very strong odor, shower had black substance tracing the shower. We thought the odor would tail off but unfortunately it did not. Pillow cases were offwhite and stained. Did not look clean. We had to leave within hours of arrival as we could not do a second night.

Room was very dirty. Hair all over the shower walls. There was what I think bodily fluids on the bathroom light switch and remote for the tv. The shower curtain had feces on it. There were stains on both comforters.

The hotel itself was very dirty- there were old socks and stains on the floor. There was also very little options for food after 5pm which was frustrating due to going to an event until late. No convenience stores either. Parking is not included with the hotel fee either. $50 to park. Only positive I can really say is the bathroom was clean.

This hotel was disgustingly filthy. We had potato chips on our a/c which did not belong to us. Cobwebs all over the place. Filthy windows. Blinking lights in bathroom and clogged sink. Balls of hair and trash in hallway for days, untouched. Smoke smell was everywhere, both tobacco and pot. All dining in concourse closed when office hours ended. Very disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms and hotel.

In general the property looked clean but my room and bath had so much hair. It was so disgusting!

The hotel was in very poor condition, especially regarding cleanliness. The entire 5th floor hallway was dirty, and right outside our room there was a cup lying on the stained carpet that was never picked up during our three-day stay. The airport shuttle service only operates during limited hours, which was quite inconvenient. Additionally, the direct entrance from Newark Penn Station to the hotel was closed the entire time, forcing us to cross a street filled with homeless people. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

The air conditioning didn’t work. Maintenance came in and replaced it in a quick , efficient manner. But the TV didn’t work. They need to do a better job and checking the rooms and testing the amenities.

This hotel is pretty dated. It is average at best

Being within feet of the Newark train station, it really is tricky trying to avoid some of the aggressive homeless people. Some were directly outside the entrance just a few feet away, urinating openly. Assuming its an older hotel, with just one, small restaurant. Ate there twice for convenience. First server was good, as was food. Breakfast buffet next day was okay, enough to eat. Waiter was very nice and attentive. Room appears to need some updates. -No USB plug- ins with outlets, which are standard today. -AC was freezing and extremely noisy up to 71, then the heat kicked on. Was a battle trying to stay comfortable. -Bathroom: tissue box was nearly empty with no backup; toilet paper rolls: 1 nearly done + 1 back up. Strong order from shower curtain- needs to be replaced.

The hotel and rooms are good, the service is very good. But this time I stayed in a room next to the elevator and I couldn't sleep because it was too noisy.

We just needed a room for the night before an even at the Prudential Center. Finding the parking lot next to the hotel is a nightmare at night. It's very dark and there are no signs. We were just lucky to see the hotel in front of us. The walkway to the Pru is very nice though. The room was ok, standard hotel room. The noise reduction from the hallway is non existent. We heard every footstep and conversation.

The room was decent, not great but good enough for a short three night stay. The shower though - was TERRIBLE ---the water wasn't much more than a trickle and made a horrible fog horn sound when running. After an extremely hot day in the city an efficient shower would have been appreciated. The location is great for a quick easy train trip into NYC

I love this property as it is right by the Newark Penn Station, which affords us a visit to NYC while avoiding the traffic. However, two things I didn’t like is (1) our room was in front of the elevator, so there was a lot of traffic in the area, especially at night time; (2) the ac unit is super loud and archaic, and needs to be updated.

Front desk friendly, no usb ports in room

WiFi did not work. One of the elevators was not operational during a very busy time. I had to walk up 10 flights of stairs to get to my room. The person who checked me in seemed not to like her job. At least she could have pretended to like her job when dealing with a customer,

Staffs are not very friendly. Terrible check-in. Cannot find my booking but was not keen to help, turned out it's the system upgrade issues but no apologies.

We had a day out, and our room never got cleaned. We had to call front desk around 8 pm when we got back from the city. We needed towels, toilet paper, and tissues and at least for the trash to be taken out. The front desk staff was very rude and said nothing he could do about it. He said someone will be up to give us towels and someone did come eventually, about over an hour later which is now almost 9.30pm, with those items ln hand, but we had to take care of the garbage ourselves, and was told to leave the garbage and dirty towels in the hallway. This hotel was not cheap and was rated high, so i am very disappointed. Other than that the stay was fine.

This was the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had. I never even got to stay there. Our family arrived at the hotel around 2:30pm on July 13th, aware that we were too early to check in, but went to check and to leave our bags. We were told that they wouldn’t be checking anyone in until well after the 4pm check in time. We arrived back at the hotel at 10pm that night and there was a big line up of people that told us that they had been waiting there for over an hour. A few of the people waiting ended up booking different hotels as we waited and left. In the meantime I found out their server was down, but others had been checked into rooms that had not been cleaned, so they were back waiting for clean bedding. The hotel staff completely ignored all of us, and hid in the back. Would not give us any updates, or even acknowledge anyone. After waiting for two hours (over 3 for some) they finally started checking people in. At this point, I was now 3rd in line after many had left. I was then told that they did not have a room left with two queen beds, that I had booked and paid for, and that they could not accommodate me. After waiting there for two hours, myself, my husband, and two kids had to get on the train to get back to Manhattan at 12:15pm to go find another hotel!!!! I was also informed, I would still be charged and would have to contact Expedia to try and get a refund. I will never book this hotel again, or recommend! Still appalled at the lack of service.

The front desk staff was the best part of the stay. They were very helpful and accommodating.

Check in is on the 2nd floor. They hold a $75 per day deposit on your account without telling you first. The front desk person that checked us in didn't tell us what room we were in or how to get there. He wrote the room number on the card so we figured it out ourselves. You have to use your room key when you enter the elevator from the lobby. Rude front desk staff when we checked in around 3:00 on a Friday. Toilet didn't work so I called the front desk 3 minutes after getting to our room and they sent someone up. We left, and later when we returned, it still wasn't working. I went down to the front desk this time and they paged maintenance again and he had attitude over the radio. He came back up and tried fixing it again. He tried for 10 minutes before I asked to be moved us to a different room. No fans in the bathrooms. Conditioner was empty (but I brought my own just in case). Toilet in the second room was better, but still not great. Floors are dirty. Small fridge, but no microwave in rooms, so you can't eat any left overs so you have to purchase more food. Easy access to Penn station. Through the hotel during open door hours, or across the street. Beds were comfy.

Front desk staff was very professional and personable during check in and check out. Housekeeping staff we're also very kind when i saw them in the hallways. The location is extremely convenient if you are travelling by train as i was.

I stay here regularly for work. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Doris is the best!

The lobby, restaurant, room showers and tiny “gym” are sorely outdated. The free shuttle is completely unreliable and the desk staff tells you this openly when it’s too late (and you’ve already lost an hour waiting for it). Keep in mind, they also email you prior to the stay recommending the unreliable shuttle. The staff is not interested in addressing issues (ie, my room not being cleaned for two visits in a row) but openly points fingers. Not a good “Hilton” experience.

The staff was excellent.

It is conveniently located right across the street from Penn Station, which makes for easy traveling to New York. Not the worst hotel in terms of cleanliness, but not super clean. They also didn't replace the towels for us.

I loved how close it was to everyone. It felt like I was at the heart of the city. Very convenient for traveling. Loved the shuttle to the airport as well. I didn’t like how noisy it was and there was a lot of homeless people outside the building. I think there was also construction going on outside so that added to the noise

The property itself is great, comfortable and convenient. Also has great security. Only bad thing is that is in an area where it could be unsafe to stray too far away off the beaten path.

The Doubletree is conveniently located across the street from Newark Penn Station. Less than a 20 minute train trip to NY Penn Station with a lot of departures throughout the day. There are only a couple of late night restaurants nearby, but there is a 24 hour Walgreens within walking distance. The hotel staff is great and housekeeping is flexible about cleaning your room if you are a late sleeper. The rooms are a nice size and the beds are really comfortable. A small refrigerator is provided and there is a microwave available in the lobby.

This place was convenient for us because it was closed to the stadium but it was very scary around the hotel, a lot of homeless people were walking around and asking for help….

Great location other than the constant traffic congestion for Penn Station.

It’s direct access to Penn Station give it a distinct advantage. However, two sets of security guards between the train station and the hotel, the need for which are understood, do not inspire confidence in the area.

Pick up is from Newark airport not JFK . I was very disappointed when I realized that the instructions given were for pickup at NewarkAirport despite sending them my flight information luckily (my grandson and i arrived at 16.00 hrs daytime so I had time to organize my travel .The best part of staying at this hotel is the location .It is opposite Newark Penn Station not New York Penn station Travel Links are fantastic and you can easily get to NewYork Penn station using underground or train. Where ever you go in NewYork you can always find your way back because of the iconic landmark . There are plenty of shops nearly by I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again

The room was really clean, all the employees were very helpful and friendly. We appreciated the shuttle to and from the airport. We chose this property due to it being right next door to Penn Station. Wished that the restaurant in the lobby had more of a choice of food but really appreciated that the little mall had more choices although most of them were closed.

Location that’s about all for this hotel. If you have breakfast vouchers or want to spend USD $40 for Breakfast, the continental breakfast is better than any hotel offering breakfast.

Property is right across the street from the Newark Penn Station. Our group had easy access to New York City. Room was simple, but clean. Beds were comfortable. Only recommendation would be to inform or remind customers that breakfast is not included. During check in they pointed to the breakfast area and provided times. I assumed breakfast was included since receptionist provided directions and times. At the time of check out there were three groups of families that had to pay a breakfast charge of over 100. Mind you breakfast was just your regular continental breakfast. The breakfast was served cafeteria style with a waitress only providing drinks. At time of signing charge to my card, waitress returned subliminally asking for a tip. I provided a small tip for my orange juice and coffee.

I love your hotel, it is very convenient to NJT, and the restaurant-bar in the lobby is great. The staff is wonderful, and the rooms are well-stocked and clean.

We came into town with 2 other couples to see hockey games. It was the perfect location to get to Penn Station and to the Prudential Arena. We ate breakfast at the cafe and it was good. Check in and check out was easy. The room was very large and comfortable.

The rooms need blankets for the bed. I was cold. It would have been nice to have room service, but the restaurant attached to the hotel was good. The waiters were very nice. Overall, the hotel was nice and centrally located. I'd definitely stay there again. The parking, however, was expensive. $30 per day

Restaurant at hotel was horrible. I ordered a rare steak and I got a well done steak. McDonald’s in penn station would be better.

Wonderful stay, rooms were clean and well taken care of. The breakfast buffet food could use a little support, food was overcooked (brick hard biscuits) and a variety would be helpful (same food each day). Staff were courteous but found myself giving away the free ticket to purchase food elsewhere. Shuttle service was HORRIBLE. Waited over a hour and a half at the airport after multiple calls. It did not run on the schedule that was provided and was just told it was on its way.

Used to have small buffet breakfast, Not much, but nice for a start to the day. Now it is a sit down with rude waitresses and $5 cups of coffee with less than good food. What a shame.
