We stayed one night during a road trip. Modern and clean -- really great complimentary breakfast with lots of fresh and hot options. Good area with restaurants and shopping nearby. Would definitely stay again. Only downside -- pool was closed, but didn't matter to us.

thIs property was under construction and I did not know until I check in was trying to relax on a Saturday before I had to leave out and the drill and the noise from the construction drown out the television not to mention they put us on the same floor as the people doing construction alse their was only one elevator working

They are renovating and didn't disclose this to me prior. The were chunks of construction debris and dust /dirt all over the floor right in front of my door and the hallway and elevator. After 2 days and nights they finally vacuumed and it still had a bunch of debris. I think I was the only person on that floor. Lol. Staff was very friendly and pleasant. I wouldn't have stayed in the mess if I had known but it was late when I checked in after driving all day so I just dealt with it. Also they're were drips on the ceiling in the lobby with a bucket on the floor catching the water. The place definitely has some issues.

In the middle of a renovation (that wasn't disclosed), the lobby was a mess, breakfast was in the conference room, and there was a middle of the night fire alarm that was a byproduct of all of the construction. Not the best stay.

Stayed there with family for a few days and found it to be quite convenient to shopping and dining options. The room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast hours are 6-10 which was good if you don’t want to get up early. Zeke at the front desk was awesome and always pleasant and helpful. Only con was the pool wasn’t available as they were still waiting on a City inspection to open it, but we were allowed to use the pool at the hotel across the street.

The parking lot was big and lighten was pretty good at dark. Lot didn't have trash laying around everywhere. Plants seem like they could use more attention around the property. Check in was quick and easy. Staff was friendly. The pool was closed and it was very hot down there. The hallways are very hot as well walking in and out of your room. Room was outdated. Had no blackout curtains, furniture was peeling, bathroom door was peeling, shower didn't have a lot of pressure, toilet is super low to the floor for a tall person like myself.

This was a trip that occurred over graduation weekend and Mother’s Day…so had to pay a much higher price…understandable but not really worth it. The hotel is currently undergoing renovation. Although some areas were completed, my room was not done yet. Though relatively clean, there were rust stains in the bathtub. And the pool was not usable with all the debris in it. HOWEVER, the front desk crew over the weekend were all very nice. I also appreciate the effort that was put into the gift bags in honor of graduation ceremonies.

Staff was kind and helpful, especially the ones running the breakfast. I booked this hotel because of how cool the pool area looked and I was going to have down time every afternoon I was there, but the pool was closed for maintenance in the middle of July. It was very disappointing.

Property was dirty, holes in walls, fire doors propped open with a rag - so if there was a fire they couldn’t close. Room furniture was so scratched dented in disrepair and old and not in an antique manner. Carpet was sooo disgustingly dirty and worn.

The hotel was very run down and old. The bathroom light did not work.. the popcorn ceiling was falling down all throughout the room. Multiple holes in the walls. The air conditioning in the hallways and lobby was broken and the temp read 86 degrees! Would not recommend!!! Absolutely not clean!!

This hotel can use some deep cleaning. Our first room was dirty the sheets had stains. We moved and the second room the sink was clogged and toilet over flowed. Paint deep clean the carpets etc. would help

The room was filthy. We arrived and there was no one at the front desk. 3 other people were also trying to check in. We walked all over the downstairs trying find an employee with no luck. After 30 minutes of calling all the Holiday Inn reservation line and the hotel with no one replying the person walked in. The employee had left the property and she came with her child who then wanted her attention as all of us were trying to get checked in. She said sorry and tried to move forward but kept stopping to attend to her small child. Horrible hotel will never go back. Dirty and terrible service. - 10 stars

The staff is friendly, the grounds look pretty good. It’s an older hotel but it has been renovated and is being maintained very well. The room was clean, comfortable and smelled pleasant. ECU is very close by and there are places to shop and eat within a few miles of the hotel. I will stay there again very soon.

This hotel was excellent for the price. Beds were very comfortable, bathroom was clean and spacious, tv was a great size, included breakfast was delicious, and the WiFi was great. Will 100% stay here every time I visit my daughter at ECU!

This is an older property that needs updating. The shower tub area needs replacing. The socket in the bathroom did not work. Had to use a socket outside the bathroom for hairdryer and curling iron. The curtain was torn. Disappointed in Holiday Inn Express. This is the second one I stayed in that needs serious attention

The hotel staff were absolutely Phenomenal! The hotel rooms need some updating, due to bathroom toilets/ tubs are old, similar to the mid 1960’s style, very short, difficult to get up from if you have back issues or older with not as much strength. The first night, the toilet made weird noises and the air conditioner sounded like an airplane engine, but we were exhausted, so we slept(my daughter was nervous about orientation at ECU, so she was awake). Beds are very comfortable. But, the next morning, after eating breakfast, we went back up to the room and there was water covering the bathroom floor. I called and maintenance came up immediately. We had to change rooms, and it was definitely better air conditioning, not so loud. The breakfast was excellent! Very attentive staff, making sure we were happy. Excellent customer service and everyone that works there are awesome!

The customer service was excellent, probably the best I've ever had in a hotel. The breakfast was good and had a nice selection. The bed was very comfortable. The only negative thing was the room and furniture, which were very old and outdated. The wall in the one corner was crumbling and falling apart onto the floor. The shower curtain was too short width wise and water was getting out onto the floor.

Hotels.com quoted the room rate plus tax an I booked the hotel. I checked out and Holiday Inn said that was incorrect and the actual amount is different. They charged my credit card a different amount which obviously was more. Hotels.com said you need to talk to the hotel.

The manager is RUDE. Our room wasn't cleaned and the beds weren't made, in spite of our asking. The manager was rude in explaining why service was so awful. WON'T STAY THERE AGAIN!

Everything was exceptional from check-in to check-out. My husband and daughter stayed here when I was admitted to the hospital. The staff was amazing. And the rooms were clean. Shout out to Ms. Dee Dee in the breakfast area. Thank you for making my daughter's stay so easy. She really looked forward to seeing you.

They have an awesome staff, the second i walked through the door i was greeted with a smile and how can i help you. The staff was very Accommodating.and friendy. I would like to personally thank the following staff Ebony, Anthony,Sam,Coco ,DeeDee and John for having excellent customer service. Skills..Also the cooking staff was excellent. Very nice room's for the money and the beds awere very comfortable 👌

Hotel was very convenient to ECU and since we were there for Orientation, that is all we were looking for. Nice & friendly staff, multiple options for free breakfast, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Will be looking forward to staying here on our next visit.

Property under rennovation and should not have been open for guests. Hotel staff managing the best they could but were struggling. Good side. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of choices and well prepared.
