Excellent and affordable hotel near ECU Medical Center. Staff was friendly and courteous. Room was clean and had many amenities. Only negative was that both ice makers were out of service.

Please voluntarily provide WiFi at check-in. Vending machine signs:use at own risk. I lost money

I visit this hotel quite frequently and it seems that every time I come it gets worse. This time, the fitness center was closed, the ice machine on the first floor didn't work so I had to go to the 3rd floor and in the breakfast area the juice machine was broken (that's more often than not) and no eggs were available. That is the ONLY thing I can eat as I'm on a Keto diet. I understand eggs are more expensive right now, but you certainly have not adjusted your nightly rates based on all of these issues.

The lady at check in was very nice. The place was quiet, the room looked clean enough. My complaints were that the drink and snack machines were not very accessible. The card reader didn’t work and they had signs that said “use at your own risk NO REFUNDS”. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. It wasn’t busy and the attendant was sitting at the bar on her phone, the waffle mix was empty, the selection was very limited, and the juice dispensers were marked out of order. We were only there long enough to get a shower and a good nights sleep. So, the place was “good enough” for that, but I would not recommend this place for a multi day stay.

Overall is was a nice place to stay. only downside was the fitness room was closed for renovations.

A little run down with one elevator broken, ice machine didn't work as well as the waffle maker.

Every time I left my room my key card would not let me back in. I had to go to the front desk to have it reprogrammed. The ice machine was not working on the 3rd floor.

The property contained the usual Window Seat boxes which I liked but there was a musty smell in the facility, and what I thought to be a greasy floor in the bathroom so I had to clean it before being able to walk on it. The facility is old inside and gray from the hallways and to the bedrooms, which were not depicted on Advertising. The room contain no coffee maker, and a wonky old flat screen TV that narrated everything which could not be changed with using my remote. The fitness center was out of use because of flooding, but the breakfast was very good. This building needs updating and some color. It was not a good purchase, compared to the Microtel that I once stayed in in Burlington North Carolina which was excellent- - for the same price! Please renovate.

Nothing working, no vending machines, no ice, no gym, no jacuzzi. The continental breakfast was cold coffee, almost frozen bagels that when I cut crumbled, waffle maker not working, no eggs. The pictures tell a completely different story. The staff was pleasant, but you could see the embarrassment. Never again

It was an okay stay. The elevator was out the day I checked in. So, I had to walk up the stairs to the second floor. The amenities were average. Overall, nice staff.

Room was not 100% clean. There was a baby mice running in the hallway and one was found in the trash can in the bathroom. Loud guest in the room a couple of doors from my room. People were banging on my door 4am because he was looking for someone. Beds are extremely small.

Non smoking room that smelled of old stale smoke. At one time it must have been a smoking room but the stale smell is still in everything. None of the ceiling lights worked. I made the mistake of leaving a switch up and it turned on during the night. You couldn't touch the TV remote it felt so dirty, the screen of the TV was filthy. There was a pad over the AC, under the window, that was so stained I wouldn't even set my shoes on it. The bathroom wall was stained with what looked like snot. After a shower, rehanging the towel I noticed it had brown stains on it. Made me sick. Only lights that worked were the flourescent over the bed. The woman at the front desk was terrible. She told us to sit and wait when checking in because she was working on the couple ahead of us. Actually told us she had to call the owner to come clean about seven rooms to fulfill reservations. There was nothing professional in her appearance and she coughed so bad. Needless to say, I never slept a wink and couldn't wait to get out of there. Don't let the pretty outside of the building fool you. There is nothing pretty on the inside.

The room was very dirty and the bed mattress was stained. Look like bed bug stains. We only stayed one of the two nights that we booked. We are now fighting to get our second night refunded.

The property was very outdated. The rooms were horrible! Our rooms (we booked two) had not been cleaned in months. There was an enormous amount of dust on the furniture. The bed sheets had stains and hair on them. The mattresses also had dirty stains that were visible on them. In one of the rooms, the bathroom tub had a few holes in it that were covered up with tape. This was extremely unsafe. I felt as if I was going to fall through the tub. I will never visit here again!

The hotel has a musty smell as soon as you walk in the building. Our room was just as bad. The room was dirty. My husband had to clean the remote because it was sticky. The dresser was sticky and the filters in the ac unit looked like it has never been changed The faucet in the tub was leaking water the whole time. The breakfast was ok. The yogurt was day expired. We will not stay there again especially with the much better options next door.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately, my experience at this hotel left much to be desired. The room itself was not up to standard. There was visible mold on the bathroom ceiling, and both the tub and toilet were dirty upon arrival. Many surfaces throughout the room had unsightly streaks from cleaning products, making the space feel less than clean. The shower had very poor water pressure, making it difficult to get a proper rinse. Even worse, when we requested a fresh set of towels from the front desk—since we preferred not to have housekeeping enter the room—we were told the towels were in the dryer and would be brought up shortly. They never arrived, and no follow-up was made. The cleanliness of the common areas was equally disappointing. The hallway walls, carpets, and floors were noticeably dirty, which only added to the overall lack of upkeep. To top it off, we saw a giant roach (at least 2 inches long) crawling in the hallway on the third floor—absolutely unacceptable in any hospitality setting. Overall, the cleanliness and service were far below expectations, and I would not return or recommend this hotel to others.

I had a few problems with this stay 1st I wanted to call the lobby and the phone didn’t work it was covered in a pile of dust they could just unplug it it DON’T WORK THEN THERE WAS POOP ON the side of the toilet but WHEN I SEEN THAT MOUSE ! THAT RUN ACROSS THE ROOM ! Was DONE ! I stayed inI The lobby for the rest of the night in my pajamas until my son picked me up.

The entire place smells like mold, the bathroom in 237 had black mold growing on ceiling and after 2 nights I came home with a horrible cough. Barely any hot water in the shower but I’m guessing that’s to keep the mold down.

Older hotel, room is clean and neat but outdated. Service was ok. Have had better interactions at other properties. Required deposit was excessive compared to other properties, the required deposit was between $150.00 and $200.00.

Our first night, on 3/23, there were guests came in after mid-night. They talked loudly and made all kinds of noises not only on the hallway but in their room. It really disturbed our sleep! Next day I realized that because there is a gap between the room door and the floor, that’s why we can hear all the noise from the hallway, even the noise from the elevator, in the room. We did not have a good rest! The reason why we chose this hotel is because it is away from the main road, but I think it was wrong!

Right across the street from the hospital so convenient. Not expensive room is small but all you need is the bed.

Small room is ok if you just plan to have a place to sleep. No refrigerator was a bit of a disappointment. Jimmy Johns restaurant was very close and convenient to walk to.

Noise transfer from room to room was extremely high. No enforcement of quiet time after 10pm. Noise from hall and adjoining room continued all night.

I feel like for the price i paid for the room it should of at least had a refrigerator and microwave. I have always enjoyed staying at microtell inns but this one didnt live up to the others i have stayed in in the past.

The walls seem to be paper thin. Throughout the night you can constantly hear the elevator dings, ice machine, people talking up and down the hall and your neighbors.

Although the property was nice the rooms were small the bed was hard as a rock the shower was great except that it dripped all night long even though it's near a hospital the you can hear other people noises outside your room and not to mention traffic and noises from the outside it was an okay experience for the money

I was upset that they didn’t come and clean my room and said I had to be there two days to get my room cleaned prior to. It doesn’t matter how much you pay for a hotel the linen and sheets need to be changed daily. If you have employees there they need to do their job.

I travel a lot and stay at various Hotels but this was the worst. One staff was yelling at my children when they went to breakfast even calling them out of their name. I let the staff know that if they had a problem with anyone children they should go to the parents . Mind you that my eight year old is a cancer patient so she already deals with emotional feelings. She was with a teenager when they went to breakfast and to have her return to the room in tears really upset me. Even when I was talking to the staff I reminded the staff that we were the guess and we were paying customers and the staff constantly kept using profanity around the children and I told the staff they should be ashamed of them self. It was a terrible experience for my family and I would not recommend the Hotel we stayed to . However not all of the Hotels have rude staff like that one.

Everything was well prepared and clean. Me and my girlfriend appreciate the black lady at the desk for being so polite with us as we had some issues before arrriving.

Lady working the front desk was rude. A member of the hotel staff tried to come into our room at 6 am for no reason. If it wasn’t for the mechanical door lock, they would have just came right in.

The hotel was good for the price. I waited at the desk for 25 minutes to check in. The manager was on the phone giving room quotes and taking reservations.

The Microtel is our go-to for stays in Greenville, NC. We call it our "trusty" place. One thing they could improve is outlets/USB connections on the night stands and get coffee pots in the rooms. Other than that, always a good stay. Staff is so friendly. :)

I always love checking in here because they're so friendly and remember me from previous visits.

Generally the property is rundown and the staff are not very helpful. I was double charged for my stay. When we checked out the clerk said she would make it right. Nothing has happened.

Close to doctors I needed to see.

It was quite and the bed was soft. It is right next to the VA clinic so I did not have to drive in the early morning traffic to get to my appointment today.

Great front desk staff at check in and departure. Beds comfortable. Housekeeping knocked at 7am and woke us up! Breakfast bar largely unattended and littered.

I had a poor stay here. I just needed a quiet basic hotel for the weekend. It felt like the management allows friends to hang out, loiter, and party here at night. It was loud at night; i heard people, music, etc. throughout the night. The elevator smelled like marijuana constantly and there were empty handles of vodka in the hallway 2 of the 3 mornings I was there. Breakfast is supposed to go until 10a on the weekends but they were actively shutting down around 9:30. When I asked to make a waffle or for anything extra, service was rude and frustrated. I will not be staying here again. I would not recommend to anyone.

Our stay was not bad! But the breakfast was disappointing. I didn’t think you could mess up something as simple as waffles, but they did. The batter or the syrup was spoiled.

The breakfast was a wait of time. All carbs, no meat, only boiled eggs, the juice machine was broken and I had to ask if there was any fruit because none was out for consumption. The only good things were, the staff was friendly and the room was fairly clean except for the beard shavings left on the sink in the bathroom.

Hotel very noisy , ice machine on 3rd floor didn’t work, breakfast was terrible , no condiments for bagels , no milk for cereal . Very disappointing. The whole hotel smelled like weed and even saw an employee in the parking smoking weed before going back in to work . Very disappointed and don’t recommend. Spend the xtra $50 to stay somewhere better .
