I have always loved staying at this property but unfortunately my vehicle was broken into this time. The hotel cameras failed us since they don't cut their tree limbs leaving it a blind spot. I think it was a inside job since they ask for the make and model of your vehicle upon arrival and staff was unhelpful with police with video footage.. I unfortunately had to extend my stay else where and spend more money on getting my truck fixed.

I informed that the WiFi and cable was not working after I had checked in. If I would have known I would have gone somewhere else. The second day of my stay, the entire hotel was woken up by the fire alarm. There was a stampede of people trying to exit the building only to find out 10-15mins later that it was a malfunction and it was okay to return back to the room but “fire alarm” and “malfunction” is not something you want to here in the same sentence. While standing out in the parking lot at 1 o’clock in the morning, with a small crowd of people, I overheard another of the occupants say that this was the second malfunction in three days. This is totally Unacceptable!!! The manager was nowhere to be found this weekend to answer anyone’s questions.

The property was under construction. The breakfast was limited as half the space was under refurbishment. A/C was very loud at night and you couldn’t get away with not using it as the room got too humid.

Great place to stay. Rooms are extremely clean. Staff is super friendly. Also, the breakfast was great. However, out of the 3 days i stayed, the fire alarm went off. One day it happened around 11pm and it happened again 2 days later around 1 or 2am.

Property could really use some updates. Front desk staff were very nice. Kitchen staff wouldn’t let us use tables to visit with family staying there. Need a better conversation area in lobby. Breakfast was awesome!! Have a lot of good food for breakfast. Happy hour is limited to Monday thru Thursday and really needs to offer more kinds of drinks and food. Had nachos with soda and beer. Would be nice if a shuttle was available also.

The property lives up to the great rating for cleanliness which is priority number one for me. But they also have the best breakfast I have had for free. I stayed for a week and every morning there where different breakfast options to choose from. They also have a happy hour days which is very nice. The Staff was super friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend and would stay again when I visit Brownsville.

My first experience was with a very curt front desk person. My next experience was finding the liner of the ice bucket was dripping wet, so dripping wet and so untouched for so long that the entire liner was covered in mold. If you spend anytime in the room at all you start to understand why everything is moldy, the air conditioner itself was spewing out the most humid air possible and you can directly smell the mold spores coming out of it. It's a coastal town, there is going to be some humidity, I get that, but an air conditioned hotel room should never be more humid than being outside. And for mold? There is no excuse! DO NOT STAY HERE!

The check-in was great, the person at the reception area was very nice, helpful and friendly. However, when we got to the room, it was a different story since we got double beds. One of the beds when you took the covers off, there was hairs in the bed also spiders in the room one on the wall and the other one on top of the bed and there was a bug on another bed, and then the sink was plugged up. Every time you washed your hands, the water would rise, imagine, brushing your teeth, gross. Needless to say I would not be staying at that hotel when going back to visit family even though it’s very close to family. I’d rather drive instead a nicer hotel.

when i first initially walked in, it smelled incredible! the cleanliness of the establishment was impeccable, truthfully. my room was clean and stocked with everything one would need. i stayed there for five days, and they also made sure my room was kept up! they were doing construction in the lobby when i was there, but that didn’t take away from my experience there whatsoever. overall, such a great stay. next time i’m in town, i’ll most definitely be staying here!

The floor had a slippery film on it that felt greasy. The shower door wouldn't remain closed. The room and bed felt wet for some reason. Not a good experience at all.

No working phone in room, had to ask everyday for a third towel for our 3 person party, since they only left 2 in room. Floors were not cleaned daily and by end of 3 day stay they were dirty. No lights in hall downstairs by elevator . Washer and dryer was broken limiting to only 1 working unit.

I mean...it wasn't terrible :p the TV in our first room was broken but the front desk staff had no problem moving us to another room. But even in that room, the AC would make a rattling sound when it would turn off. It was just a bit of a nuisance when trying to sleep. The breakfast was amazing, but more than half the dining area was under construction so there wasn't much seating. The hotel building itself is a bit dated, but they've done their share of renovating what they can so thumbs up for the efforts. As for the rooms, they were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms looked great! Overall, even though it was a decent hotel I would stay again :)

While entering the room I noticed the upper extra security door lock was broken. Entering the restroom appearance is a sore eye. Cracked floor tile and why would the hotel place broken pictures frames up on the wall. The paint on the walls were not complete. With the Curtin drawn open such a bad paint job. Now the beds were extremely comfortable.

Overall a great stay. The Hotel was clean and comfortable bed and pillows. The only thing i didn't like was the small sink! We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast with a mix tex mex foods. I liked the fresh cook eggs and the tamales too.

Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was amazing. Only complaint is the first night we were told that the pool closed at 10pm. So my kids jumped in at 930pm. About 10mins til 10pm, the security guard asked what we were doing and that we shouldnt be in the pool area. We explained the front desk told us 9pm, but he wouldnt listen and firmly said the sign says 9pm! We apologized and left, and then asked the front desk the next day and they also daid 10pm..so we were a little confused by the security guard. But other than that..we had an amazing time!

This has been the best experience I have ever had with a hotel. I have had to stay over time and time again and I’ve been treated like a welcome regular every single time. They have checked me in early, they’ve held my bags in between reservations, and the manager especially has made this entire experience feel great when it should be stressing me out.

There's really not much not to like about this property! Quiet location, close to restaurants and shopping mall. Great customer service beggining as the front desk and overall feeling of comfort. Our hotel room was sparkling clean and the restrooms were very nice. Hotel staff super friendly and what's not to like about an everyday happy hour from 5pm to 8pm...and let's not forget their completely decked out breakfast area from 6am to 9am which put other hotels breakfast's to shame. We're definitely coming back to La Quinta by Wyndham at Brownsville Texas!!!

The staff were friendly and efficient. The area around the hotel was nice with a lot of stores and restaurants nearby. The shower floor tile could have been cleaner and the box springs on one of the beds was noisy (just sitting on it or turning on your side would cause noise). Overall, a decent experience.

The entire staff from the front desk, food service, and housekeeping were very friendly. They made me feel very welcome and the atmosphere was perfect. The breakfasts and afternoon snacks were delicious. The tamales were super good! I will stay here again! The location was perfect for what I needed to get around Brownsville.

I rated my stay at the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Brownsville North as a 5 Star. The staff was very friendly at all levels. From the front desk, food service, and housekeeping, everyone had a smile and the atmosphere was top notch. The breakfasts were delicious and the tamales were super. The location of the hotel makes it easy to get around town and was perfect for my stay. I will stay here again and I am extremely satisfied with my stay. Thank you.....Jeff
