The pool and hot tub area were so nice! A huge pool with Adirondack chairs, and an area for eating/ping pong that overlooks the mountains. Great sitting spots and viewing areas all over the property. Really nice job.

Great views of Mirror Lake outside the front door and from the restaurant. Pool area was very nice with lots of space for chaperones to sit and watch. Breakfast buffet (fee) was good and included eggs your way. They have a small private beach with kayaks.

Our stay was good. We stayed in the pine wing which was nice but the bathroom shower could use some work. Front staff were nice and the breakfast buffet was good. Only thing was the pool was on the cold side. Kids were shivering while they were playing. It was also great being able to bring our dog with us.

Best view of Mirror Lake and the mountains in all of Lake Placid from the front of the Crowne Plaza. Easy 10 min walk to Main Street where there are multiple restaurants and shops. Didn't use but bonus the hotel has a private beach and various watercraft to use as a guest. Opt for a lake view room wonderful to look at! We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Only disappointment our Keurig coffee machine was broken we were in room 123.

This place is in a perfect location. 5-10 min walk to everywhere in town. Its very clean and they have a fantastic cozy restaurant with a huge stone fireplace with a great view of the mountains. The bar in the restaurant is also a great place for apres ski, or pre-dinner cocktails before walking into town. The pool and hot tub are very clean, and there's a lot of room to lounge around in the pool area with couches and tables for dining or socializing. I plan to stay here from now on when I return. Highly recommended place.

Everything was top notch and clean (most importantly). Staff was helpful and friendly as well. The only thing I’d add is fresh baked cookies for guests as the other higher end hotels offer in lake placid. Great time, view is the best there is.

The view from our room was great! Our morning coffee on the balcony watching the sun rise was great! Lots of spiders on the balcony though. The room was “mostly” clean, the bathroom had some squashed bugs on the walls. The jetted tub was clean and worked great. Nice big shower as well. The location was nice walking distance to everything but you definitely need to be prepared for the walk back up hill. Most of the vending machines were broken so it can be a bit of a walk depending on your room location to get a snack in the middle of the night. Had a very drunk person yelling in the middle of the night that was a bit rude, not the hotels fault. Also the power went out at some point in the middle of the night so good thing I wasn’t relying on the alarm clock, but with that it reset the AC unit so the room got very warm. Overall it was a nice experience but a bit expensive.

Our first room was awful! Mold in the shower and then the shower head burst and drenched the whole bathroom. Drapes not all hung by their hooks. Goose poop all over the patio floor. Sagging mattresses. Second room…sagging mattresses, certain areas had never been dusted. Bathroom towel racks coming out of wall as was the thermostat. I could go on and on…

The view from the 4th floor lake front room was outstanding. We enjoyed the ability to open the sliding door to the small balcony space. Overall, we thought our stay at the Crown Plaza did not meet our expectations. The first impression was at check-in when observing and listening to disgruntled employees behind the desk. The next morning at breakfast, we observed and heard disgruntled service employees again as well. The room seemed tired and outdated. The couch in the room was deformed and stained. Lighting was poor. Bed comfort was just okay. Daily housekeeping was minimal. Obvious vacuuming was needed The shower door seal was hanging off which caused unnecessary floor flooding. While we did have an unpleasant check-in, we did have exchanges with some very nice staff members. In addition, we definitely recognized the property's uniqueness...location and history. A serious refresh of the interior would be a huge improvement.

Nice hotel, pretty busy during a hockey tournament and lots of families and kids, but relatively quiet, considering. Biggest issue was the WiFi was not good. We kept dropping the signal in our room. Very frustrating for all of us.

This hotel is beautiful on the outside, but rooms and common areas feel dated. We stayed over Thanksgiving weekend when the hotel was overrun with kids competing in the CanAm hockey tournament, along with their families and coaches. Children were running around the hotel at all hours, largely unsupervised, making a lot of noise in the hallway outside our room. Additionally, the hallway outside our room consistently smelled like marijuana. While hotel staff acknowledged and tried to address our complaints, there was little they could do. Ultimately, I think it’s a nice, reasonably priced hotel with a very good staff, but would strongly recommend guests research local events happening during their visit and plan accordingly.

Everything was clean the only thing I didn't like about our room was having a connecting door to the room next door as it allowed all the noises and conversations between each room to be heard. Also the walls might be thinner than other hotels I stayed at, as you could hear everything that was happening in the hall and the washing machines working in the laundry room that was adjacent to our room.

Hotels have a legal duty of care to provide a safe environment for guests, and to investigate a problem. No one came to our room to see what happened, this was not followed up to make sure we were safe in any way. When I called and reported a problem, there should have been someone sent to our room and you must know this. When I spoke to the manager, he said he checked the ground floor and again never check with us. A large amount of cold "Unidentifiable" liquid dumped on us, including our toddler is not acceptable and was not followed up. There was not even an apology until, "I" asked for the manager, he was very dismissive as it was nothing, we missed church because of this, my wife's hair was ruined and our clothes we soaked and my toddler was so upset he threw up afterward, THIS WAS ALL TOLD TO YOUR MANAGER AND HE DID NOT TAKE NOTES AND NEVER CAME TO CHECK ON US. Your Manager and Hotel did not handle this in a timely safe manner.

Amazing staff, and even upgraded our room when we discovered there was a problem with sink drain! Liked that they provided free coffee and ice water all day. Lovely view of the lake and town, and able to walk to town, but not be in the fray of tourists. Restaurant on premises was a plus but very warm and seemed to be no air circulating or a/c in there. Loved the decor with historical pictures and Adirondack-style furnishings. The bedding was a little outdated and there was no fan in the bathroom or ceiling fans, but loved the little "patio" outside the room to sit and enjoy the view. Overall, I would definitely stay here again instead of the using a hotel on the main street.

We had a great time but would like to make a few constructive criticisms: For our second breakfast the wait staff was in conversations amongst themselves, and we could not get beverage services. I went twice looking for coffee, tea and oj and I went to request staff. Our breakfast got very cold and we had to go and get new food serving when the above beverages finally came. The first and third day were excellent. The bathroom needs more towel hooks and a safety bar in tub/shower would have been handy. There was another more serious bathroom issue but I don't choose to write it here.

Excellent location, on site restaurant was good. I booked a room without a view of the lake realized I wanted one and in 5 minutes they got us in a room with an awesome view. Couldn’t have handled my mistake any better. Have stayed here multiple times and it’s one of our favorites.

We stayed there so we could walk to the Olympic Center to watch a hockey tournament. It’s great that it’s within walking distance, but do not plan to walk to Main Street unless you are able to walk back up a step hill! Hotel itself was nice and the staff was very nice. We didn’t get to eat at the restaurant, but the view from the windows was beautiful.

We love staying at the Crown Plaza! The views from every room are beautiful, the staff is always pleasant and happy to help, and the room is always clean and comfortable. We especially love the convenience of the location to all the best shops and restaurants in Lake Placid, you can park and don't have to move your car again because everything is walkable from the hotel.

We stayed for three nights. The hotel is clean and comfortable, a little dated, but definitely not really noticeable. We felt the atmosphere was really nice, especially being able to sit outside and enjoy the fire. Prices on drinks from the bar, in our opinion, outrageous. $40 for two drinks is a bit much. Our room was clean and the cleaning staff was very nice.

The Lake Placid Crowne Plaza is a very nice hotel. Our room was lovely. Our bed very comfortable. I like that they use refillable bottle for all bath and shower products. The hotel restaurant was good but the menu was very limited. There is no room service at this hotel which was very disappointing. Overall very good. I did not give 5 stars overall because of the lack of concierge and room service.

I have been visiting Lake Placid for years and i truly think the Crown Plaza has the best view out of all the hotels. Its conveniently located and has a friendly atmosphere. The outdoor patio has plenty of space to hang out and unwind. The only negative I have to say this time is the service at their grand room restaurant. The waiter spoke very broken English and took a long time in between trips to our table. The food was delicious however, it took forever to get.

A very nice and clean hotel. We had a good time but one thing that surprised me was the price of the appetizers in the hotel restaurant. We ordered the crab cake and got 6 very tiny pieces for $18 (I mean real tiny). To be honest it wasn't just me who was surprised but my whole family. And that applied for few other appetizers. Everything else was very good.

Amazing view of the mirror lake right from the property. Walking distance to the town center and the Olympic museum. Although a little dated, the property is maintained very well and the excellent staff adds icing on the cake. Great breakfast and dining on facility and 24 hour coffee service on the house.

Great trip to Lake Placid MLK weekend. Hotel was 10 stars. Service was excellent, rooms were clean and location was perfect. The food at this place is amazing. Breakfast buffet in the morning in 1 restaurant then lunch and dinner in the other restaurant. Service was fantastic. We sat in front of the fireplace on Friday night, had some cocktails ad just relaxed. There sign says that they close for food at 9pm but I saw them seating people at 855pm. Very impressed. The next night after the event we went to, we had dinner there and were seated at 845 with no problem. I saw a few families seated after us. Staff was never upset and seated everyone with a smile. fantastic service, awesome food and beverages. One of the best hotel restaurants I have ever been to. Will be back next year.
