Hampton Inn Columbia Northeast - Fort Jackson Area

It’s June 9th with pool closed. No water at all in pool. Says pool renovation. Why wouldn’t renovations be done prior to warm weather?

Got concerned when half of the lighted letters on the Hampton inn sign on front of building were burned out - this is usually indicative of other broader concerns with maintenance at hotels like this. Also, the carpets in the rooms are not all that clean but in general cleanliness of room was satisfactory and we had a nice stay. Sure beats a red roof inn or days inn for comfort and cleanliness. Our breakfast was as expected for a Hampton Inn - one of big reasons we stay there. One other issue is we had to park in back and were told it was actually closer to o the elevators through the back or side door. Problem was room key cards did not function to open any of doors but front when I mentioned to front desk they said yes they were aware of the key cards not working on the other outside doors - then why did they tell us parking in back would be Closer to elevators...

Elevator out of order. Only one ice machine worked in the building.

We stay at this property 4-6 times per year. NOT one time has everything worked. This time one of 2 elevators was broken, and the remote for the TV in our room was flaky. Last time the ice maker was broke and the frame of the bed was protruding and cut my wife's leg. Someone needs to do preventive maintenance.

First of all no TV - The Pool was GREEN 👀 so the 2 amenities that I use I wasn’t able to.

Building in poor condition. Garbage piled in planter at front door. Was assigned a room that had fan blowing on the carpet and smelled like chemicals. Had to switch rooms with barely going into the space Elevator broken and ringing half the time. Staff were friendly and nice but short staffed.

Our stay had great customer service, not to happy it was 1/2 under construction which made pool closed.

Property was/is being renovated, so it was a little dirty. Understandable. And not a lot of parking due to this. But we stay here every time we come through and there’s never an issy

Very clean hotel, one of the cleanest I feel like I’ve stayed at in awhile. I felt very comfortable when staying in the room itself. It was clean, well maintained and comfy. And the staff were mostly very lovely. However, the breakfast most days was absolutely TERRIBLE, especially the coffee. So nasty. And my whole three day stay the pool was down almost the whole time and green and disgusting and nobody could use it. Then when they finally “cleaned it” and got it up and running, the water was low and it was still pretty gross. Super disappointed in those things because some people may come specifically to a place that has what appears to be a nice pool in the hot summer to be severely let down. But again, rooms were very clean and the staff was very nice for the most part. Overall, I would stay again but wasn’t happy with those two major things. This hotel is pretty pricey to have those major things be terrible the whole time.

Filthy hotel

The whole place looks old, the carpet in the hallways and in the room was worn out and dirty, you did not want to take your shoes off. The sofa was also dirty, we asked every day fot the cleaning services (full) to be done and the NEVER did it. I had to take the trash out and take it to the front desk so the room would not be worst than it already was and I came home with insect bites... Do not recommend this place at all.

The only positive things I can say about this property is the friendliness of the staff, the fact I was miraculously able to check in early (12:30pm on my birthday, Saturday 1/4/25), and the speediness of the elevators, even though they’re draped with reno sheets. Other than that, my stay at this property was the worst I’ve ever had at any hotel in my entire life. This property is doing renovations on the 3rd and 4th floors, and I was placed on the 2nd floor in room 209…directly below a room they were consistently renovating during my entire stay! From the time we arrived until the time we checked out on Monday (before checkout time due to the inconveniences), there were loud renovation noises throughout the whole day, starting around 7am—I’ve got multiple videos finally documenting the noise…we got no rest and my birthday weekend was ruined due to lack of sleep and not being able to relax in the room I paid good money for! Not only that, my room was grungy—stains on the mattress, which was also terribly uncomfortable…I slept on the bed for 2 days and I am now suffering from really bad pain in my right hip due to the springs digging into my body all night. The ironing board looked disgusting and like it was molding. There was a dirty, rusty tissue dispenser in the bathroom, and the shower water was lukewarm at best, even with it turned all the way to hot. Fridge barely got cold, ruining the food we attempted to store inside of it, and the black multi-plug was faulty.

There was mold growing in the ac heating unit. The fan in the bath turned on but did nothing to help when on.

Loud air conditioner and people running around in the early morning. Breakfast was terrible.

The noise in the room from refrigerator, ac, toilet, and bed made it very distracting. The bed squeaked at the slightest movement and the toilet when flushed sounded like a fire hydrant. Only one elevator operated for five floor building. The staff were very friendly.

Had a hard time using wifi and tv had lots static. Everything was very nice.

I think this property has a renovation planned. It is dated and tired looking. The bathroom tile and grout needs replacement. Quiet closing doors would be better than the slamming ones.

Our room was next to the elevator, so it was very noisy and a lot of foot traffic by one of the exit doors. The plumbing was also noisy as well.

Rooms and inside are very outdated. However a sign was posted in lobby that they are soon renovating. Outside pool area was nice and so was continental breakfast.

The room was spacious and clean. It had a cozy homey feel to it. Comfortable bed. I slept like a baby. My highest recommendation

The check on staff was friendly, no noise at night ! Beds were squeaky though !TV signal was terrible and went on and off constantly Overall a pleasant stay

VERY friendly and professional staff!

Check-in after a long day went smoothly and was accompanied by bottles of water and warm cookies. We found the rooms to be precisely what we expected.

Every staff member greeting me every time I walked in or out. They all were incredibly helpful with everything and I felt I was just as important as anyone else. Smiles all the time and a warm safe feeling always. I will for sure only book at this hotel anytime I visit family. Thank you

Person running the front desk when we checked in at 4:15 pm was indifferent and not very helpful. All i wanted to do was get two extra pillows; simply would not give them to me after asking three times. Hotel was definitely not booked out; that will be my last stay at this establishment.

Great customer service!

The front desk clerk, Edwin, was awful. So rude and inconsiderate of guests. He rolled his eyes at me several times and when I asked to speak to a manager instead of him he said there was no manager on site. I then asked for a supervisor and he said there was someone in the back but he wouldn't get her. He told me more than he should have stating that he couldn’t guarantee a room by check in because room service only cleaned 1 room in 3 hours. I left and returned after eating out and he said oh there was 1 available but I gave it to someone else. He couldn’t tell me an estimated time or anything. He just stood there fidgeting with his water bottle. You’re suppose to feel welcome walking into an establishment like a hotel and he made us feel like we were in his way. Someone that doesn’t want to do his job, lazy and rude. Will never return to this hotel because of that employee. We did finally get a room and I will say the morning staff at breakfast was delightful.

One week before my arrival I called the third-party to inquire about adding another day. I decided not too extend my stay but the third-party did not change the dates back to the original. Upon my arrival, my reservations were canceled and I was charged. Although I was highly upset, and I knew it was the third-party fault, I kept calm as possible. But the attendant was not very friendly or try to find any solution. All he would say is that I would have to go and make another Reservation. Also, Construction that was NEEDED was going on right above me and He said if you need any ear plugs ( that was sitting in the open for every to touch) they were free!!! When I was checking out, I did encounter two others that was very polite

We booked as we were able to pick up our soldier for Christmas and had to drive 6hrs to get him. Very close to the base so it was easy to pick him up. Plenty of dinning options around. Renovations are going on when we were there but we knew that ahead of time. Customer service was top notch and breakfast was really good. We have to come back soon and rebooked for that stay as well.

Quiet, very clean, super staff! The only negative is the breakfast bar. Limited choices and what is available is not good.

Check in was smooth and friendly thanks Alex The breakfast lady( sorry I don't remember her name) was very nice and we had a nice chat in the morning, She said she would see about the filet minion I requested when she said if there is anything you need that I don't see for breakfast just ask. Wonderful woman. Oh yeah, the breakfast was GREAT!!!!!

Very nice room. Clean and comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Stayed here several times and the breakfast was ok bit this time it was terrible. Everything was cold and the potatoes and eggs were terrible. The bacon was very undercooked and the coffee was horrible. If you staying here for the free breakfast don’t bother. There is a waffle house a block away.

Love the location and the room, but the breakfast was not good. We came down at 8:45 and there were no eggs and the batter for the waffles was so thin that it wouldn't cook properly. The decaf coffee was good, the regular had a funny taste. Also the omelette egg thing seemed like fake food. Place wonderful, food bad.
