Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Emporia I-95

Stay away from this hotel. Under construction. Elevator not working. Plunger next to toilet. Paint spots on carpet. Marriott should be ashamed. Traveled the world and this hotel a top ten for worst.

Needs a major facelift, which looks like they have started. Gross ceilings, dirty bathroom, very old gym and the pool was nasty. Wouldn’t recommend, hopefully the remodel will make this place a nicer place to stay.

The pool and hot tub were closed. Apparently they are under construction and not a one day issue. No mention on website or expedia filter. The hot tub and pool were the primary reason i picked this hotel.

Elevator was broke, stayed on 3rd floor, wife has a bad knee and we had to go up and down every time

Hotel is getting a facelift. Painting, new carpet, rooms are bare. My room had no closet and only received a single towel. Hopefully when it’s done

Pool was closed for repair. That was why I chose that site because of the indoor pool. Hotel was old and outdated. Little bits of broken items everywhere you turned.

We discovered after checking in the hot tub has been out of service since Covid but they still advertise it as an amenity.

Property is going thru a renovation, unfortunately I got a room to be renovated. The Air Conditioner compressor was extremely noisy when it would kick on. It would be nice if the bathroom would have a night light instead of the regular bright light.

Under renovation

Construction in lobby, pool filter not working and jacuzzi out of order. Breakfast was very good and the coffee was excellent . Women I breakfast was very nice and helpful.

Room was clean, however, felt very damp and had a slight smell. Definitely have some sort of moisture issue.

Cleanliness: old smelling bath towels, mystery stain on sheets, air conditioning smelled musty. Staff was friendly but waited 10 mins at the desk for them to show up. Property condition: toilet paper holder was falling off, tub bottom was not in good condition. Outside grass area looked nice in the front. I don’t think we’d stay again unless they upgraded things mentioned. Not worth the price we paid.

The first room, smells weed and cigarret, They give me a room at the first floor, no bags on the trash can, the water did not go to the up , and i had to shower my handicap daughter with a cup, and us too. At last but very important there roaches in the room... and I tried to send pics and the app not allow me to do it

Thankfully we were only staying for one night! After traveling for 11 hours, we did not have the energy to go elsewhere. Our room was musty/damp smelling. The window was broken. The crack was covered by packing tape. The bathroom had a significant amount of black mold in an area on the ceiling. When we checked out and told the person at the front desk, another guest said their bathroom was full of mold as well. We would not recommend this hotel.

I had to switch rooms 3 times because the tv remote did not work. Rooms were dirty. The third room had hair in the shower. Even though I had to sign saying I had no pets there was a big dog down the hall.

The bathroom shower floor was dirty, not trash containers in the room or bathroom, TV didnt work at all, and room had a strong smell of humidity.

The first night the dust and dirty carpet made me feel sick

The rooms very dirty, paint was chipped off from multiple places. The bathroom tubs and carpets were dirty. The light shades in the hallway were broken pretty much everywhere. The only positive was that the staff was extremely friendly.

Overall condition of the room was unsatisfactory. Musty smell upon arrival. Fixtures in shower were questionable. Shower floor very discolored, looked dirty. Wall over air conditioning unit was very much deteriorating. Ceiling light in bathroom and by corner chair didn’t work.

Booked a king bed room. Got in a 9Pm settled into the room and ready for bed and found the bed springs were broken, instead of packing everything up and moving to another room we slept on top of the pillows. Informed the front desk at 7AM checkout.

The staff was very courteous and friendly. Clean bathrooms and comfortable beds. Also TV channel selections were good. Easy parking access even with a 16' motorcycle trailer attached to our truck.

Netflix! Great to be able to watch something from home. Good breakfast.

Unfortunately, neither of the 2 TVs were working properly. The front desk person come to our room and was able to get one of the TVs to work. Would have been nice to be able to watch TV in bed

Room they had for us right next to elevator over the front door, noisey all night long, would never recommend this hotel .

Great location, easily accessible to interstate. Staff were very friendly. Room furnishings did show signs of wear but overall positive stay!

I was really tired and needed sleep. However, the room felt damp to point of the sheets feeling moist to the touch. It was difficult to get comfortable and hard to stay asleep. The property was otherwise very clean, the staff was friendly, and the service was nice. However, the discomfort of the room overshadowed the property’s best qualities.

Beds are small full-size not queen

We cannot believe this is a Marriott. When we arrived, we were the only ones checking in. The receptionist was cashing out the register-never looked up, didn’t acknowledge us standing there for several minutes. Finally, she told us she’d be with us in a minute…we stood and watched as she counted pennies. We were stunned. We’ve been taught the customer in front of you is more important than the task at hand…not so here. We had booked a king-there were none available…only doubles. I asked for a price adjustment & was told they’re same rate. Honestly, we had been up almost 20 hours & were too exhausted to debate it. Marriott would be appalled at the condition of our room-beds and pillows were comfy, but not sure the carpet had been swept in days-corners had def not been addressed in a looong time. There was rust and hair in the tub, and a huge hole in the carpet under desk.Breakfast was basic-no flavored creamers, no fresh fruit. The vinyl on the bench area was cracked, peeling, and worn away. At least the woman working breakfast welcomed us…In fact, she was the only one who made us feel welcomed! Check out was like check-in…it was 8 am and no one was at reception. There was at least a sign posted that they were helping a guest and would return shortly. We waited patiently for close to 10 mins and finally rang the bell. A man came from another area and took our key-didn’t ask how our stay was-did wish us safe travels. We aren’t hotel snobs, just want clean & welcoming.

Charged twice for room. Once with hotels.com and then in the property itself. I was charged £113 by hotels and £102 at the property. I was then told I would need to speak to my credit card to get the money back. Hotels and Marriott need to sort this out between them as this happens a lot seemly. I hope the hotel does the right thing and sorts it out for me.

Despite calling Fairfield Inn to confirm a late arrival, and being told it was no problem - My family and I arrived at 12:30am and was told our room was no longer available. I have 3 young kids who were all crying in the lobby because we had nowhere else to go. All the hotels in the area were sold out. It was the worst travel experience I ever had, and will never book with Marriott Fairfield Inn again!!!

Staff friendly, room clean, overall very pleasant stay

Apparently our reservation was canceled, which we found out when we called the hotel for directions.

Great staff and very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and quality of the breakfast.

All the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

i waited 10 to 15 minutes for someone to work the front desk as i tried to check in. I think the attendant was helping another guest somewhere but still that is a long wait when you are tired.

Staff was outstanding

Poor service. Never cleaned room over all 5 days. Rude. Dirty.

Biggest problem we had was finding the hotel. Need to use the address for gps not just the name of the hotel, both google maps and Apple Maps don’t know exaxtly where it is. Otherwise room was comfortable, quiet, breakfast was ok.

The hotel is on I-95. There’s nothing to do outside of the hotel like dining out or so

Room was very clean; the building is a little bit older, and it shows in some places. Very quiet and so convenient to 95. I would stay there again when in that area. Breakfast was very good, and staff was excellent.

It is close to I-95, several restaurants, gas stations and shopping options. The staff is friendly and professional. The facilities are clean, attractive and well kept.

Great location

In a seculed dark area, however it was easy to access. One section of our hall was quite beat up looking. Other parts newer looking.

Next to the Marriott there is a "restaurant" named Hangry Houze. It had a party there from the evening until after 2 AM. Many people were outside partying and making a lot of noise. We didn\'t get to sleep until around 3 AM. Don\'t ever stay at this hotel.

Quiet and clean. Good location near main highway.

Everything was clean, quiet and safe. But the tv channels would not work and the fire alarm briefly went off around 10pm. Staff was friendly and breakfast was very good.

Hot tub out of order Pos: We were warmly greeted in the morning by ther lady who prepared/served the most excellent and varied breakfast w. fresh fruit salad, perfectly cooked oatmeal with many add-ons (walnuts, blue berries, etc.), eggs, breads, juices, etc. etc. What a great way to start a day.

Check in was easy. The clerk was polite. The breakfast was tasty. Liked that coffee is available 24/7

We’ve stayed here many times and it was always top notch. Antwain was the highlight. Impeccable customer service and super kind and friendly. The food wasn’t up to its normal standards. The oatmeal was basically water with a little oats. There wasn’t much available for the hot breakfast. I’m hoping it was a one of as we stay here twice a year and it was the first time it wasn’t good. I took a star off for that as we wound up having to eat out for breakfast when we paid for breakfast included. We will still book again as I’m hoping it was a one of. Will review again with a better review if it is back to normal.

Configuration of breakfast area is very awkward. Could be made easier for guests to get their food or juice. Only easy access was coffee area which was separate.
