Thank you for welcoming us to your hotel. I like Courtyard by Marriott because they are usually clean and kept up. The Richmond West was above my expectations. Every place you went you saw the hard work of the staff. The rugs, tables, lounge areas, clean. Hallways, bathrooms, hotel room, hotel rugs and bathrooms were clean. Thank you again for paying attention to the details! Upon arrival the staff were so kind and friendly. We were told about the restaurant and bar. After settling in our room we went to the restaurant. The menu is limited but but ample enough for a quick dinner. They had a Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato soup our favorite. The meal was very tasty. Perfect comfort food after a very long drive.

The pet fee is too high, no microwave to heat up food, no toiletries, plus extra $20 dollars . No free breakfast.There there are other hotels with more amenities for less and the pet fee is no more than $50 I do not recommend this Hotel.

The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. We had a glass of wine at the bar and then breakfast the next morning. The bistro staff was very friendly and the drinks/food great. I've never had a bad experience at a Courtyard by Marriott.

At no point in the reservation process did it say the pool was closed. Apparently we would have had to go to the site's website, so we only found out after we arrived. We would not have made a reservation if we had known. Also, for the price we would have expected some kind of breakfast, instead of paying $40 for coffee.

Location of the property was great! Close to great restaurants, grocery stores and main highways to get to and from Richmond when traveling to Williamsburg or Airport. Staff was very friendly, easy to checkin and out. Parking is a major plus, as it was free and no charge not like some other hotels.

Spent 4 nights at this Marriott. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, the room while not ultra fancy was clean and comfortable. The hotel was a short and easy drive to downtown as well as some of the areas surrounding the city. Prices were reasonable and definitely cheaper than staying downtown and there was ample free parking on the premises. Overall a great stay and I would definitely come back again!

I was in room 141 when you open the patio door, the smell of urine is present it’s unbearable. I’m not sure if it’s human or pets. I see pets are allowed.(that’s another thing that bothers me) I see animals relieving themselves in the grass and it’s not being picked up by the guests…that’s disgusting! I frequently stay there when I’m in Va but that may change due to the cleanliness. The pull out mattress had a rancid smell. I went to the Home Depot across the street and purchased some Lysol. Please I ask, make sure those rocks outside the patio doors are cleans daily because the smell of urine is just unsanitary!

When taking the shower, the water drains in the shower and them comes up in the drain on the bathroom floor, making it unsafe for anyone walking in or out of the bathroom, with water all over the floor. I did speak with the front desk personnel and they said they would check it out.

The room was clean, but everything was a bit worn and dated. The hallways (and my room) often smelled of weed, and I any conversations in the neighboring rooms or outside (hallway or courtyard) could be plainly heard. Luckily it was quiet at night and I slept well enough. The price was good and the location is good too, but there are other hotels in the same area that I've stayed at before which were nicer and had better amenities.

Jerome at the front desk was so nice and helpful. My room was quiet and clean. The only thing I needed in my room was a microwave for convenience. I had to use the microwave in the lobby. Other than that I enjoyed my stay.

We were in the area for a concert. We chose this hotel for a couple reasons, one being that it didn't charge for parking. Overall the hotel was nice. It had a decent lobby you could use. Even after the food area was long closed, the staff had no problem with us eating our after concert meal in the lobby. If I had to pick a fault, it wasn't anything they did wrong. Our AC quit working and our room was hot, but we were all too tired at midnight to do anything about it. I alerted staff in the morning and they said they'd have moved us, had they known. Again, this is 100% our fault for not wanting to move. Beds were comfy. No weird smells. Would stay here again.

Jerome and Bryan were excellent at the front desk. Bryan checked us in so quickly and had a wonderful disposition. When we needed to extend our stay for an extra night, Jerome made it so easy and he was so pleasant to deal with. The service at the Bistro was also excellent! Friendly people who made us feel at home after an 11 hour drive. Thank you!

I have stayed at this location several times with my husband. The same desk clerk (Bryan) checked me/us in the past 3 times! Bryan is very competent, knowledgable and friendly. Bryan made sure I had all information I needed. He made the check-in effortless! Thank you, Bryan!

I sent my adult children to Richmond for a concert. I prepaid the hotel room in put it in my oldest's name. They still had a complicated check in. It took multiple phone calls, texts, and email searches to get them checked in. None of my emails had a confirmation number, just a reservation number. The checkin process needs to be easier, especially when parties are traveling out-of-state.

Friendly and professional staff who went out of their way to be accommodating. They were always personable, friendly and kind. Bed was comfortable and the room exceptionally clean. The area is not the most attractive and the chain link fence was a little intimidating to say the least.

I never felt entirely safe in the part of town at this location. Always made certain that I was in before dark. Staff checking in was very nice, otherwise never saw a soul. Parking was very isolated and scary. The hotel itself is very outdated and looks like something from the 1970’s. Would not stay again.

Upon check-in, I was told that breakfast would be down downstairs from 7 to 10 o’clock. It was my impression that there was a continental breakfast. Once we arrived downstairs in the morning, the options were a beverage, an extremely limited food that you had to pay for.

Nothing terrible: Gripes=Not a fan of the yellow and red wall colors, shower curtain clips all need to be replaced, toilet was super low, the bathroom door opens towards the toilet so you have walk around it each time, could hear our neighbors through the walls. Likes=Easy parking, great staff, big room, clean, many food choices at the Starbucks, French Toast was yummy.

I loved my room. It was spacious and cozy. The rooms are a bit dated as far as amenities but overall very cozy and made for a comfortable stay. Wasn't a fan of the Bistro Restaurant. Good concept but not great food. It will work if you're desperate but it's extremely overpriced for frozen food that you heat up in a microwave or toaster oven.
