Econo Lodge Madison East

The place is Okay for the price. The front desk staff are very rude. They find small things to b about. Was happy with a room & asked if I could have the same room. They would not tell me if it was or wasn't avail until I checked back in. Once I checked back in they said the room was not avail. The newer room was horrible & stunk. There was paint thinning in the bathtub & just nowhere near as good as the first room. I gave them a second chance. I asked if I could have the original room & as usual could not tell me if it was avail until after I checked in. The 3rd room was good. But not the one I wanted. When I was checking out the staff started yelling at me telling me that they were not running a family place but a place of business. There is no harm in just wanting your moneys worth. And asking if a room is avail that you were happy with. The housekeepers are gold. They are some of the nicest people that keep the place going. But choose your words wisely to the front desk. It's like a snapping debate club. The lady at the front desk sleeps at night & will tell you that you are wrong with anything you ask of her. Even if you tip her she will still appear irritable. I finally just stopped asking for anything. (what time is the breakfast that you don't have) The laundry room closes at 9pm but there is no sign of it anywhere. People will come out of their rooms with wet clothes while yours are in the washer. I took my wet clothes to the laundromat.

You’re getting what you pay for at an excellent rate. Only downside I can think of is there’s no elevator.

Good facility and great price. Clean room. They are going through renovations but that wasn’t an inconvenience. My only one complaint is the very outdated gym. It looked like leftover equipment from someone’s basement.

Ac didn't work, was told it's because it's under 80 degrees, can't park by hotel had to park in a separate lot.

It has the worst access and parking availabilty I've ever seen.

Excellent, looked new, spotless, really impressed by that, rates were very affordable compared to everywhere else. Food options were easily accessed for a quick meal. Road entry point was a little awkward, however the exit allows easy access to fast food, very easy to cross hwy 151 also. This was an overnight business stay for me, worked perfect.

Hallways not vacuumed and smell. Rooms very outdated and touch point cleaning was terrible. Stains on the bedding.

Everything was nice and clean.

The place did not look as it was advertised. The shower was disgusting. Molded and the paint was chipped off. There were stains on the white towels and bed sheets. I am very unhappy with this stay and will never stay there again. I’m very disappointed and would like my money back.

Bed sheet was dirty

Was my first and only time I will stay there. Bedding wasn’t adequate. After sleeping took a shower and got dressed by that time I had 5 swollen bed bug bites on my leg. Outside my window I noticed a large stack of old mattresses. By morning I realized why.

We had a nice stay, rooms were clean and comfortable. Would return.

The property was incredibly run down in all areas. I couldn't tell if the beds were clean because the sheets were stained and ripped. The hotel needs a total renovation before I would ever consider staying there again.

Found german cockroaches when we turned the light on the following morning. Recorded video on my phone and showed front desk. She wrote a note with our room number but that was all

Great stay, there was no deadbolt on the room door (418) though

I stayed at the Econo Lodge for a quick overnight stop and it was a decent, affordable option overall. The room was basic but clean, and check-in was easy. However, the wireless internet was a major letdown. I was in the building farther from the lobby, and the signal was so weak it was basically unusable. If you need reliable Wi-Fi, this might not be the best choice—especially if you’re placed in the second building. Otherwise, it worked fine for a cheap, no-frills stay.

Room was comfortable and quiet.

Bathroom drain did not drain

Not bad for the money. AC in room was very loud and didn't stay on. Hallway smelled weird but room was clean.

Asked for a quiet room and got one. No problems, no drama. Would stay again.

Staff was decent. Walls are paper thin and people above us were extremely loud. Beds not very comfortable and stained sheets/bedding. You get what you pay for I suppose

The room was mostly cold, even with the heat at full blast. The guest in the room above me was noisy. He/she walked and moved around a lot, using the desk chair to roll across the floor constantly and late into the night. It seems that every 30 the desk chair would roll from one side of the room to the next; and it was constant.

Beds are HARD. Thin walls, can hear everything in the neighboring rooms as well as the hallway.

Air conditioning doesn't work

Clerk needs training in dealing with irate customers.

It started with the phone call I placed to enquire about information on Internet. I was told to figure it out by booking it. If you want to be treated rudely while the woman checks you in, go here. If you want to be told everything they won't do for you, go here. So glad I only had to deal with her rude condescending attitude for a short time. She would never work for me, and never be unleashed on customers

Huge line to check in and only 1 person helping. Will never stay here again.

The first room I got had a broken air conditioner and they got us intk a new room very quickly and were still able to keep us close to the other room. The area was a little sketchy but not horrible. It was a perfect location for us to stay to catch a very early flight.

Great Customer Service

It took me over an hour to check in, with a line out the door. They only had one staff member on even though there was a huge concert in town and clearly had a ton of reservations. Be more prepared next time. There was also dirty towels in the bathroom.

Very good experience very reasonable rates. It's across the street from East Towne Mall Amazing selection of restaurants in area.

The room was dirty, the bathroom was unacceptable. There was suspicious dealings going on at the side of the hotel. There was a strange man taking photos of cars in the parking lot. People loitering outside the hotel making me and my family feeling very unsafe. I originally had a stay for 4 days. I did not stay there at all. I did get a refund for 3 of the 4 days. I advise not staying at this hotel until they clean up the environment, and make it an inviting place to stay.

This was conveniently located by the airport. It was a good value for the price.

The road leading to the motel was very narrow. Also we saw three homeless people sitting in different areas around the parking lot

No-nonsense motor lodge. Convenient to interstate.

Worked out well for us. Close to the uw east hospital. And very easy access.

They did not put breakfast out in the mornings

Internet stated there was breakfast. Not so, not even coffee

Bed spread had at lest 3 or 5 cigarette burn holes in it and there breakfast was only coffee and juice not what would call a breakfast

NO free breakfast as advertised, two buildings NO Ice machine in our building, door keys/locks did not work properly ~ took multiple tries to get doors to open, faucet in our room installed wrong (hot was cold, cold was hot), dirty towel hanging on hook in our bathroom when we arrived.

The service is always good, the rooms are comfortable and clean. The location is close to many places to shop and eat. The staff is amazing.
