We stayed three days and it was a fine hotel for the price. We could have stayed down the road at the $362 per night place, but that was out of the question, budget-wise. This place was responsive to requests and even allowed us to switch to a more accessible room. Parking was good, the rooms were OK - considering the age of the building. Maintenance is an issue there, but again, considering the age of the building, they are trying to keep up.

Room was very comfortable. The only AC unit was in the 2nd bedroom so you had to leave the door open to get the cool air in the main area. The pool was not open. Very walkable and nice city.

We choose this location because it had an outdoor pool. We were very dismayed that it wasn't in working condition. The housecleaning staff was very friendly and their breakfast was great

I brought kids and they wanted to use the pool. That was the only reason we booked this location. We got there and the pool was not open. Had I known this ahead of time we would have biked somewhere else. We made the best of it with no pool.

For those of you who don't like old or outdated, you mightvwant to find something else. However, we found this little motel to be very nice because when I got in the room the first thing I did was check the bed. The sheets were very clean and smelled of chlorine so I could tell they had been washed. Then, I checked the bathtub. It was sooo clean, I took a bath. As for the rest of the motel, it was very old and outdated but, every where we looked,they were remodeling. There was new paint, new air conditioners being brought in and much more. The neighborhood is a luttle industrial but there weren't any homeless people or farbage and we felt safe. The pool was warm and clean and I swam at 6a.m. which was a treat. Yes, I recommend this little motel.

Great hotel! Hidden gem. Perfect location to walk to restaurants, bars, shops... Room was perfect, with a separate room with a bed as well. Great little balcony porch that was perfect to enjoy the evening. Only downfall, all the vending machines were out of service. Gas station across the street, but convenience wise, would be nice if the machines had been working. Would totally recommend a stay here!

Had to change rooms due to heavy musty odor and lights that didn’t work and a door lock that was iffy. New room was somewhat better-not as musty smelling but, the door lock was difficult to open and there was no smoke detector in the room, only the wire were there. When the front desk was asked she gave a run around explanation about smoking and no smoking rooms. I don’t think she understood at all. None of the rooms are smoking. The overall conditions of all the rooms were really bad, not cleaned properly, bad odors, unclear instructions on how to use the air conditioners (one room had a remote and another room had a switch on the wall) and there was no instructions whatsoever. I wholeheartedlydo not recommend staying there.

I realize that this hotel just recently opened for the season, but I would have expected that they would have cleaned the rooms before they rented them out. I could write my name in the dust, the mirrors were dirty, and the sink and tub took forever to drain. It was gross standing in several inches of water in the tub while showering.

The room was clean, beds were great. The carpet needs to be replaced but overall everything was a value for the price. Our first room was too hot so the manager switched our room and it was so much better. He is a good manager very efficient and vey nice and accommodating. The breakfast was very good with a wide variety.

Super overpriced. Nothing like pictures. Felt like a crack motel. Some sort of animal feces in the room. Advertised as a completely different room and when we got there we were given a very different room that cost way more than we were told.

Very friendly staff. It was a motel so nothing too fancy, but it was nice and clean and had a decent breakfast. We arrived early and they were kind enough to let us check in by 1:00 pm. As soon as we got out of the car the staff greeted us.

Sam, the front desk attendant, was extremely helpful and patient when I was checking in for three suites and I didn't have my info in order. Thank you, Sam! Rooms were neat and orderly! I would suggest having an AC in each of the rooms in the suite instead of in just one, as the purpose of separate room is both privacy and comfort. Great value, close to the Lake Huron beach and other locations! Joel

Overall a pretty average experience. My friends and I were really only looking for a place to sleep in, so I would say we got our money worth in that aspect. The breakfast was about average but still had good waffles. As a group of girls we were nervous about being on the first floor but it turned out fine and was actually convenient being so close to the breakfast and parking. The room looked like the pictures and the bathroom is clearly dated, but still, what you pay for. There were some issues with the ceiling, mainly just damages we were worried about being charged for, but it was resolved with no issues on either end.

I would stay here again. It’s a little outdated. If you don’t want to sit on the bed, there are not many seating options for a family. The water pressure in the shower was wonderful. Breakfast with a little lackluster. We had a two-bedroom on my husband's side of the bed he said “You could tell this is where everyone sleeps” My side was great. My daughter liked her bed. They cleaned our room every day. They were very nice and helpful and gave recommendations. They do not have handicapped rooms, so it’s hard for me to shower without a bench or a seat. They were very accommodating by giving me a first-floor room, right next to the breakfast room, and close to the ice machine. It was a great selection on their point for my benefit. The price point was good. They did not overprice the rooms right on point.

My room was clean and there was some updates. The bed was horrible. It felt like I was sleeping on sub flooring. The pillows gave up on being an actual pillow months ago. They were flat and hard. I didnt sleep well at all, and woke up every hour. The walls are thin and you can hear people talking. Someone had a late night and made popcorn in their room at 2:30 a.m. I could smell it in my room and i had no neighbors. I would love to stay again but the bed and pillows need to be replaced. It was a rough night for me

Stayed here several times in the last year. The issue is some beds and rooms are better than others. This stay room 207 the bed and pillows were extremely hard. The shower head is at shoulder height, the desk has no room to do your paperwork after a long day of work. If you are looking for something comfortable it's probably better to stay in Mackinaw City and drive the extra distance. I travel for work and stay in 40 to 50 hotels a year. This is the worst bed and pillows of any hotel I have stayed in. If you want a good nights rest this is probably not where you want to go.

It was ok. Very noisy since a lot of bikers stay here and they were outside chatting, loudly till midnight and departing early. Not the fault of management but people should be more considerate. Other than that it was convenient for one night.

It's an older property, and generally well kept and clean. The air conditioner struggled to reach the bed area from the bathroom sink area and it wasn't even that hot out. The a/c needs to be cleaned. I used some credits on Hotels.com and stayed during the week. Definitely not worth what they try charging on the weekends. The breakfast area was pretty well stocked with decent variety.

Owner pulled a "bait and switch" when I arrived. said he could put me into a better room, but never said it would cost more than what I had already paid through Expedia. Tried to convince me to not use expedia. Had me sign the agreement without the new cost info included (my fault for not being more careful), but he's a con artist. I found a separate charge for something called "Google", whicn I later found was a service he used to charge my card. New owner for this property. I've stayed there many times in the past, and always enjoyed the older couple who used to own it. Never again.

The room was clean, beds were great. The carpet needs to be replaced but overall everything was a value for the price. Our first room was too hot so the manager switched our room and it was so much better. He is a good manager very efficient and vey nice and accommodating. The breakfast was very good with a wide variety.

Very friendly staff. It was a motel so nothing too fancy, but it was nice and clean and had a decent breakfast. We arrived early and they were kind enough to let us check in by 1:00 pm. As soon as we got out of the car the staff greeted us.

The Continental is a known quantity to me. We came to town to go boating. There is a boat ramp right up the road which is very convenient. It's an older property but it is clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. It's a very short walk to various restaurants and bars which is another plus for the Continental. It's not the ritz but it filled the bill for us. The new little breakfast area is nice although we didn't use it.

Sam, the front desk attendant, was extremely helpful and patient when I was checking in for three suites and I didn't have my info in order. Thank you, Sam! Rooms were neat and orderly! I would suggest having an AC in each of the rooms in the suite instead of in just one, as the purpose of separate room is both privacy and comfort. Great value, close to the Lake Huron beach and other locations! Joel

The property was in an undesirable area of town. Our room had the window open. Could not get air to work. Did not see heat. No blanket on bed. We paid I believe with tax 150. However the room was listed as under 100 the day we arrived. Will have a hard time booking with Expedia again

I found it charming. The square footage was large. The furniture pieces were dated but that added to the experience. The purpose for a clean, safe place to sleep and shower this was it! Staff was super friendly. I could walk to town. I would stay there again.

Decent place but old building and appliances. The only hot item in the breakfast is waffle through machine. No eggs or sausages or pancakes. Would rather stay closer to Mackinac city than driving far to get same or similar services at this price range.

It's an older property, and generally well kept and clean. The air conditioner struggled to reach the bed area from the bathroom sink area and it wasn't even that hot out. The a/c needs to be cleaned. I used some credits on Hotels.com and stayed during the week. Definitely not worth what they try charging on the weekends. The breakfast area was pretty well stocked with decent variety.

I have stayed multiple times now with my fiancée, and we keep coming back because it is so comfortable and accommodating. It has quickly become like a home away from home. Breakfast very good although eating area a little small. Our family studio was like a private apartment with spacious living space, separate bedroom and full kitchen. Facility is being upgraded and the renovation very nice.
