SpringHill Suites Galveston Island

The property was clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff were very polite and friendly. We loved the hot tub and indoor pool, the free breakfast was an added benefit. We had a great experience overall.

Property needs an update. HVAC was a bit noisy. A few other system were not working correctly. Property is on a one-way, so it takes a little practice to learn how to come and go. Breakfast was adequate -- could be better. Fitness center is one treadmill and some free weights.

Vacation with my family and it was a really nice place. Heated pool was a plus, breakfast was good with lots of options, and room with pullout couch was exactly what we needed. The couch also had a chase lounge which was helpful as well. Staff was very helpful and accomodating. My critiques are the fitness room was horrible, it needs upgraded and more equipment/options, the exterior needs a paint job to be more updated like other Springhill suites we see, and our room TV had issues connecting to internet and the bathroom handle became loose. We will be back tho as we enjoyed our stay overall.

My room had a water leak that covered my only bed. I was transferred to another room at midnight. I asked for NO ROOM SERVICE, but they STILL ENTERED MY ROOM while my valuables and personal effects were on the desk in the room. The WiFI did NOT work and the morning front desk agent stated that no one else is having problems except me. They connected to Support, and after they verified my information, they started asking personal questions; when I asked why they need my personal information, they hung up on me. I asked for a late check out at 1:00 p.m., they CHARGED me for an extra day because I was late! Their team members hide in the stairwell and get on their phone and they tell you that they don't have anyone to help. The Elevator buttons do NOT work except when you are on the Lobby floor. To call the elevator to your floor, you have to contact the front desk and they will need to send it to you! The only professional is Egricelda (Thank You)

Would really enjoy a restaurant and bar

No charging station for EVs on site nor near. Pool is tool small a hefty drive to beach.

The pool closed the first day we got there and water pressure in the shower is not good.

Room was very clean and in good repair. Front desk staff was friendly. Nice, quiet and Great location. Great value for the money. We will definitely be staying here again when in Galveston.

This property was a bit below average. Carpet and walls in room were dirty, black mold in bathroom by tub, toilet didn’t flush correctly.

For Springhill Suites, this was one of the least kept locations I've stayed at. Bathrooms were rusty, wallpaper peeling, handles and tub dirty and outdated. Not atrocious but expected better.

Our bathroom toilet didn't really work. Room needed better cleaning. There was popcorn not cleaned up. The hind a bed was uncomfortable. There was no blanket for it.

Thermostat in the room was broken. I asked for it to fixed. The sink by the coffee are rest was dirty and rusty. Very disappointed for the price paid

Had only an overnight stay for an early appt at Shriner's the next morning. No complaints whatsoever. We loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We had a 2 double bed suite with fold out couch. Everything was clean. Staff was friendly and checked with us to ask if our room was ok. The breakfast was plentiful and had a variety of choices. I don't usually eat oatmeal but I could not pass up the oatmeal bar with all its toppings and fruits and nuts. There was 3 types of juices, eggs that were scrambled and boiled, jalapeño mini-quiches, sausage, cereals, various breads, milk, yogurt, waffles, fruit and coffee. I had read someone else complaining about the smallness of the pool. I think some people forget that Galveston is an island with very limited space. The island has had to be built up several times to remain above the tide. The city has weathered many storms, and things are not going to stay pristine in that harsh sun and salt-spray environment. Target is right across the highway via an underpass, so easy access. There is a view of the bay but again, it's not pristine. It's a port city, thus it looks like one. We will definitely stay again.

This hotel needs to be renovated. Our room has something terribly sticky all over the floor in front of the sofa. My feet was so sticky, I almost couldn’t get off of it. Had to wash them right away with soap. No toilet seat cover on the toilet.

Rooms in need of serious upgrades. Bathrooms in poor condition. Water ran cold which has never happened to us as a hotel before and worst of all we found stains on our mattresses. Here’s a pic of one. We also come to realize the beds didn’t have mattress protectors on them, and we found a dirty use towel in the closet.

Two-night stay. Excellent staff and breakfast. Very clean and tidy. Free parking and safe area. Overall, I wish we could have given it a 5-star rating; however, the air conditioner unit was SO NOISY we couldn't get a good night sleep both nights. The a/c unit was located less than 3 feet from the head of our bed. Extremely noisy! Had to take a sleeping pill both nights. Still, would wake up about 2 a.m. and move thermostat up from 75 degrees to 80 degrees just to keep it from cycling on and off. Obviously, got a little warm.

My room had the best view over looking Moody Gardens. The staff was so sweet. The hotel was so clean. The parking lot was clean as well. I enjoyed the indoor pool. This hotel is so close to the beach. If you want an enjoyable stay with friendly service then choice Springhill best place ever.

Close to cruise pier, large spacious room, furniture needs updating.

Pros: Breakfast options were good, pool was heated, staff was friendly, good location. Cons: Beds were too soft(you sink into them), sink is outside bathroom, beds were tiny(full size). Overall we'd stay again.

Had a leak in the room from the AC unit that we didn't realize was soaking the carpet and bags that was in that area. Rooms and staff was nice other than the pot smokers. We was unable to go out and enjoy the balcony because of the pot smokers stinking up the outside and leaving the door open just filled the room with the odor.

It sits right by the highway, so the traffic noise is maximized. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The main entrance is off a one-way frontage road, so use your GPS to find other ways to get back to it if you leave the property.

Check in is too late we came at 1pm, check in time 3pm. Ok, we will wait at 3pm. After that we came on 2.50pm. Rooms are not available at that time. We wait 20mints.

Check in was fast and efficient. Room was ready and clean. We stayed one night before embarking on a cruise, will definitely book this hotel again.

I made this reservation three days ago, and when I got to the hotel, the desk clerk informed us that they gave our room to someone that had a similar last name, Johnson, not Jackson. They resolve the issue and gave us a handicap room but when I looked at my bill this morning, it had me listed as an address in California, I live in Texas.

Super easy check in, super friendly staff, clean, beautiful room!!

Old building, I could smell the dust. No spare comforters/pillow for the sofa bed. Called the desk for comforter for the sofa bed, we fell asleep waiting and it wasn’t delivered.

Its a good hotel, about 10 minute drive to the beach. There is an indoor pool that was ice cold for some reason. Breakfast was just ok.

We were going on a cruise so it was close to the port. Very convenient.

This was a good place for 1 night pre-cruise. It is not walkable to anything and there is no restaurant near-by so prepare to take an Uber for everything. Would be great if they offered a shuttle, I would have been willing to pay a little more for the convenience. The breakfast was limited for healthy options, but more than adequate. Esmerelda made check in quick and easy.

The entrance/exit is a little difficult to navigate in high traffic.

The parking was convenient and safe. The hotel was clean and quiet and the staff was kind and helpful. The breakfast had many options and there was plenty of food available. The bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel is not perfect but overall it was really good. The tv channel options could use some improvement. The hotel room AC took quite awhile to cool down the room. For the price there is no need to look elsewhere book your stay here and I think you will be happy.

One night stay before boarding a cruise ship vacation. Staff was friendly the was clean, good breakfast. I will definitely stay again.

Clean and friendly staff but breakfast has a bad quality

This hotel charges way more that it should. It was almost $300 per night for our “family Suite”, but wasn’t even better than a Motel 6. Our family came to Galveston for a week and unfortunately we wasted our only summer vacation time in this dump. If we could afford to book another hotel and take the loss, we would have. They “gym” only had one treadmill in a tiny room. The pool left a lot to be desired. The paint was peeling off of the ceiling and you have to beg for towels. I literally had to trade in 3 towels in order to be given a fresh set. We are a family of 5 that had to share 3 towels. This place was a COMPLETE DISASTER. Save your money and find a much better place to stay. And I skipped breakfast there the entire week because of how pathetic it was. Not many options at all.
