Excellent characterful hotel- built around a garden courtyard in which you can find the restaurant which is most excellent! Possibly the best in the area, good food supported by very attentive and pleasant staff. Speaking of which the staff were all absolutely wonderful special shout outs to Mrs Merve who sorted the transfer from airport and Mr Elvin who sorted out local events. Special thanks also to the hotel cat for providing cat related home comforts. Situated 5 minutes from the hippodrome and blue Mosque, say 10 mins from Hagia Sophia and 15 from Topkapi. 15 minutes the other way to the Grand Bazaar . I can whole heartedly recommend !

A very nice traditional boutique type hotel with an excellent restaurant and attentive service. Close to the tourist attraction but also close to traditional part of Istanbul. Nice rooms, the ones close to the entrance and facing the restaurant garden are nice but noisy at night.

We are so pleased that we chose to stay at the Garden House Hotel. Our room was excellent. The air conditioning and internet worked brilliantly. The breakfast set us up for the day, meaning we only needed a snack for lunch before an evening meal. The staff were friendly and super efficient. It is in a brilliant area with the main sights within a walking distance. The only reservation that I would stress is that there isn’t a lift. Also it is at the bottom of a very steep hill. However, Istanbul is based on hills, so not a great place for people with mobility issues. Within walking distance there are lots of great restaurants. The hotel restaurant is extra special and we had our most memorable meal of the holiday. We were so pleased with the hotel, if we ever go back to Istanbul, we’d definitely look to stay here again!

Every thing was great . Staff was so helpfull. Even let me store some luggage for a few days while i did a side trip . My room was on the top floor. Had a great water views.. no lift. But they did tell me this before i hot there..which was fine for me .

Excellent location in Sultanahmet district. Excellent service, the staff is very nice and efficient. And the restaurant is on the top 10 best places to eat in the district. The food was indeed delicious! The exterior terrace is a little piece of heaven from the noisy streets. I would stay there again!

Room had a musty gross smell and the bedsheets were not clean. They put me in a basement room which was even worse. Also the toilet barely flushed. I requested a new room and they said there were none available. Ive stayed in better hotels for half the price. Definitely would not stay here again.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und man kann die Altstadt und diverse Sehenswürdigkeiten schnell zu Fuß erreichen. Das Personal ist freundlich. Das Hotel ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen unserer Zimmer war sehr klein, im Bad könnte man kaum die Sachen hinstellen und der Wandschrank war auch Mini obwohl wir nur wenig Kleidung für 4 Tage dabei hatten. Das Bad roch muffig und hatte einige Schimmelecken und von der Decke blätterte die Farbe ab. Wirklich blöd war, das wir so gut wie keine Tageslicht im Zimmer hatten, da die Fenster sehr klein waren, und auch nicht in der Mitte sondern in Fußbodenhöhe, so kam so gut wie kein Licht rein.Das Frühstück war ausreichend und konnte zwischen 8-9.30 eingenommen werden. Zusammengefasst wenn man wenig Anspruch hat kann man es ein paar Tage hier aushalten aber wir würden es nicht nochmal buchen obwohl die Lage wirklich super war.

Hotel room was filthy, all furniture in room was very very old and in bad shape, in bathroom water was leaking from all over, sink faucet was leaking all the time, shower stall very very tiny you can not even move, tv in the room was not working

The service in this hotel is excellent… friendly and helpful. The garden setting is also lovely and the cuisine in the restaurant is first class… especially the chicken güveç! The only downside of my stay was a very noisy room on street level with vehicles, mopeds, scooters passing 4 feet from my window. Quite a racket so I slept badly for several nights. This hotel is not what it used to be (i.e. wonderful). The breakfast is no longer excellent but sub par. The afternoon and evening restaurant has been leased to an independent company and while the food is good, it’s very pricey and the service leaves a lot to be desired. We were not offered water when we sat down and had to request it midway through the meal. There was no guidance offered on the menu. Our room was extremely noisy (on the front) and we got little sleep on the first night.

Excellent hotel. Maybe the best Istanbul has to offer. I really enjoyed my stay. This isn’t a corporate hotel so if you’re looking for that kind of experience, maybe try somewhere else but expect to pay ten times the price. But if you’re looking for a home from home with friendly staff and a lovely courtyard and nice food, this is Istanbul’s best kept secret. They even have a beautiful cat.

Possibly the best in the area, good food supported by very attentive and pleasant staff. Speaking of which the staff were all absolutely wonderful special shout outs to Mrs Merve who sorted the transfer from airport and Mr Elvin who sorted out local events. Special thanks also to the hotel cat for providing cat related home comforts. everything was good except that it was not easy to find plus it was in the interior and the traffic was horrible. However, it is in walking distance to the Blue Mosque and Haggia Sophia, so if you are athletic, and likes the walks, you will be fine.. I say the staff are tops

We are so pleased that we chose to stay at the Garden House Hotel. Our room was excellent. The air conditioning and internet worked brilliantly. The breakfast set us up for the day, meaning we only needed a snack for lunch before an evening meal. The staff were friendly and super efficient. It is in a brilliant area with the main sights within a walking distance. The only reservation that I would stress is that there isn’t a lift. Also it is at the bottom of a very steep hill. However, Istanbul is based on hills, so not a great place for people with mobility issues. Within walking distance there are lots of great restaurants. The hotel restaurant is extra special and we had our most memorable meal of the holiday. We were so pleased with the hotel, if we ever go back to Istanbul, we’d definitely look to stay here again!

Excellent location in Sultanahmet district. Excellent service, the staff is very nice and efficient. And the restaurant is on the top 10 best places to eat in the district. The food was indeed delicious! The exterior terrace is a little piece of heaven from the noisy streets. I would stay there again!

The service in this hotel is excellent… friendly and helpful. The garden setting is also lovely and the cuisine in the restaurant is first class… especially the chicken güveç! The only downside of my stay was a very noisy room on street level with vehicles, mopeds, scooters passing 4 feet from my window. Quite a racket so I slept badly for several nights. This hotel is not what it used to be (i.e. wonderful). The breakfast is no longer excellent but sub par. The afternoon and evening restaurant has been leased to an independent company and while the food is good, it’s very pricey and the service leaves a lot to be desired. We were not offered water when we sat down and had to request it midway through the meal. There was no guidance offered on the menu. Our room was extremely noisy (on the front) and we got little sleep on the first night.

The staff at the Garden House Hotel were wonderful. They could not have been more helpful. The garden was a delight. It was always cool and shaded and just a pleasure dine or just hang in. I would highly recommend this hotel. If I had one criticism it would be that breakfast was limited but the off we ate for other meals was delicious.

What a lovely stay! Location was perfect for a first time trip to Istanbul, a 5-10 minute walk to all of the sites we wanted to see (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace). On a very cute and quiet street but could easily walk a few blocks and be in the business of Istanbul, so many restaurants and shops nearby. Would definitely recommend!
