Hotel Lia is a great place to stay at. They have their own restaurant beside the lobby where you can order food throughout the day , as well as a little coffee bar for a sweet treat and coffee. The room and property were kept super spotless. Staff were very polite , welcoming and helpful. The hotel is also located right on the beach, so it was nice that we only had to walk a couple minutes to it.

Modern hotel on the beach. Great bar area to enjoy the sun and wildlife On the downside the standard room was small, with no outside window to open so you had to use air con. There was no place to put your suitcase to unpack and the ceiling was on the low side and I felt a bit claustrophobic. My partner, however, had no problem with ceiling height or room size.

Completely remodeled and beautiful hotel right on the beach. Palm Springs/Vegas Style pool with an outdoor shower was outstanding and was used often. Staff was wonderful and hotel has 24 hours security. Highly recommended.

We came to Jaco for surfing and this hotel seemed much nicer than others in the area and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The property was beautifully designed and everything felt brand new. The rooms were very comfortable with a lot of attention to detail. You can tell a lot of care went into everything. The hotel café and restaurant/bar were excellent. The pool was perfect for relaxing, and the hotel location couldn’t be better: right in town near restaurants and shops, and directly on the beach with easy surf access. Loved my stay here and would definitely come back.

What a great spot - like probably the top 5 hotels in the area. Pool, restaurant, great bedding, good air conditioning, hot showers, beach parking. Loved it. Loved. This place just got renovated and I think renamed, which is why as of June 2025, there’s not a lot of reviews. Give it a chance. The people are awesome.

The property was well kept and modern. There was security to greet us and watch the parking area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was open until 10pm which was very convenient. The beach was just in front of the hotel and was very nice, but the waves are big. We only had the fish sandwich at the hotel and it was very good! The only gripe we had with the hotel was that our room was very small. With 2 open luggages in the room it was very difficult to move around the room. The shower was also one of those half glass showers and water would get all over the floor. Besides the tiny room with limited space our experience at the hotel was a very good one.

El hotel lindísimo! El personal…excelente!! Le faltan detalles que harían la diferencia: El colchón buenísimo, pero las sábanas fatales. No hay repisa en la ducha para poner shampoo, jabón etc; ni blanquita en el cuarto para poner valija. No TV… Instalaciones muy bonitas!!

Nice location. Was odd to have to pay for meals and beverages separately rather than do a room charge. Room s next to lobby are not as private. Can hear a lot of music and conversation from lobby. Showers in studio do not have towel racks or shelves to put soap or shavers. Limited dining menu. Beds were a bit firm and air conditioning blows right over the bed.

The hotel is beautiful but the beach area needs better looking chairs and cleaning. Also the hotel room offers nothing no iron, refrigerator or TV. During rainy season a lot is left to desire because you will be left bored in the room. There is no hotel entertainment, I think Costa Rica just isn’t there yet.

We had a very good stay! There should be a switch in the bathroom for light and one for ventilation, not one for both. The ventilation is pretty loud, so you risk waking the rest of your room. Also some more hangers in the bathroom would be nice. Other than that, excellent stay!

The hotel was very cute, clean and nice, our room had a great balcony overlooking the pool and was very comfortable. All of the staff were amazing. The restaurant/bar was a little pricey, but the food and service was excellent. Walking distance to everything in town, with several other great restaurants, a grocery store and a convenience store all within a block. I wish we had a little fridge in our room, but oh well, we can’t have everything. Highly recommend for a nice, romantic stay.

Overall positive experience but all the small things add up with a lot to be desired Room: small, no clothes iron, no tvs, nightstands are tiny logs making there no place to put anything, shower doesnt have a shelf, no towel hook at sink, A/C worked great, bed sheets were absolutely terrible not soft at all, more like sleeping with parchment paper Pool: very nice, heated and mostly clean Pool Bar: not used! I'm accustomed to being served food/cocktails at the pool and this was not that experience. You can get a drink there if you flag somebody down to get a server to come back there but otherwise the pool is an unserved area Restaurant/Bar: Food was ok, food is better off premises. Specialty cocktails were fantastic. Don't expect service. What I mean is you have to ask to be served. There was only 1 of the the 5-6 servers who actually stops by to ask if you need anything. Even sitting at the bar the bartenders dont check on you. Coffee is great. No place to charge a phone outside your room. No outlets in any of the outdoor spaces and sitting areas. It wasn't terrible but I would not go back. I have to assume all the 5 star reviews on Google are friends of the owner, people just being nice, or people who have lower expectations than I do and mine are pretty low. I just expect clean rooms, functional rooms, and service. I feel bad even writing this review because the staff was so friendly and polite.
Overall positive experience but all the small things add up with a lot to be desired Room: small, no clothes iron, no tvs, nightstands are tiny logs making there no place to put anything, shower doesnt have a shelf, no towel hook at sink, A/C worked great, bed sheets were absolutely terrible not soft at all, more like sleeping with parchment paper Pool: very nice, heated and mostly clean Pool Bar: not used! I'm accustomed to being served food/cocktails at the pool and this was not that experience. You can get a drink there if you flag somebody down to get a server to come back there but otherwise the pool is an unserved area Restaurant/Bar: Food was ok, food is better off premises. Specialty cocktails were fantastic. Don't expect service. What I mean is you have to ask to be served. There was only 1 of the the 5-6 servers who actually stops by to ask if you need anything. Even sitting at the bar the bartenders dont check on you. Coffee is great. No place to charge a phone outside your room. No outlets in any of the outdoor spaces and sitting areas. It wasn't terrible but I would not go back. Hotel Lia is a great place to stay at. They have their own restaurant beside the lobby where you can order food throughout the day , as well as a little coffee bar for a sweet treat and coffee. The room and property were kept super spotless. Staff were very polite , welcoming and helpful. The hotel is also located right on the beach, so it was nice that we only had to walk a couple minutes to it.

The hotel was very cute, clean and nice, our room had a great balcony overlooking the pool and was very comfortable. All of the staff were amazing. The restaurant/bar was a little pricey, but the food and service was excellent. Walking distance to everything in town, with several other great restaurants, a grocery store and a convenience store all within a block. I wish we had a little fridge in our room, but oh well, we can’t have everything. Highly recommend for a nice, romantic stay.

Modern hotel on the beach. Great bar area to enjoy the sun and wildlife On the downside the standard room was small, with no outside window to open so you had to use air con. There was no place to put your suitcase to unpack and the ceiling was on the low side and I felt a bit claustrophobic. My partner, however, had no problem with ceiling height or room size.

We came to Jaco for surfing and this hotel seemed much nicer than others in the area and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The property was beautifully designed and everything felt brand new. The rooms were very comfortable with a lot of attention to detail. You can tell a lot of care went into everything. The hotel café and restaurant/bar were excellent. The pool was perfect for relaxing, and the hotel location couldn’t be better: right in town near restaurants and shops, and directly on the beach with easy surf access. Loved my stay here and would definitely come back.

This was a lovely property right on the beach with a great coffee bar. The staff was friendly and the drinks were delicous but food and drinks were more like San Diego or LA prices. We enjoyed our stay.

I have to say that this was a first class operation! Everyone from the front desk to the owner worked so ridiculously hard to make our stay fantastic. The food there was stupendous and the cocktails were amazing. I am from South Florida and it was a step above. The rooms were small, but they were tastefully decorated so it wasnt cramped feeling. My daughter and i were there for 3 days and it was a refreshing change. Beds were really comfortable! Also, Cocolito surf school was awesome. Ask for Ethan and tell him Christina sent you.

Had an incredible stay. Beautiful beachfront property, lovely pool, great restaraunt with excellent cocktails, staff were all very helpful. Walkable to shops and restaurants. Highly recommend staying here.

Nice location. Was odd to have to pay for meals and beverages separately rather than do a room charge. Room s next to lobby are not as private. Can hear a lot of music and conversation from lobby. Showers in studio do not have towel racks or shelves to put soap or shavers. Limited dining menu. Beds were a bit firm and air conditioning blows right over the bed.

Recomiendo el hotel! Por mejorar Música en el área de la piscina es vital un deep house por el tipo de hotel. Ropa de cama que sea suave y confortable las sábanas parecen de plástico, no son nada agradable! No hay secador de cabello y es vital como en todo hotel. En la ducha no hay donde poner jabones un pequeño estante de vidrio, no es cómodo cuando los utilizas! Sería más cómodo si la estadía se incluyera el desayuno dentro de la tarifa incluido, las opciones de menú son limitadas.

I liked just about everything about Lia. The all adult was starters, room was up to date and comfortable. We had the ocean view which gives you a direct view to the beach and ocean. Bar was awesome and breakfast and outside eating area with beach and ocean behide you was breathtaking. Beds was super comfortable. The only thing I would recommend is better parking for guests. Oh yeah just one block away from main strip of Jaco where there’s shopping, bars, and restaurants. I will definitely be coming back.

Very interesting conditions. Some rooms have No TV or Radio. The hotel is presented as a "unplug" environment. The WiFi was unstable a several times. I assume given the location is beach front and between tropical backgrounds, the amount of bugs, ants, amd lizards were more than normal or acceptable for my relaxation. The staff were amazing! 👏 The management team equally amazing! The breakfast and lunch options were pleasantly surprisingly good. The walk to amd from the hotel, down the alley way, is undesirable, especially at night.
