Casa Rustica was a great place to stay for my 3rd visit to Antigua. Facilities were great and the seating areas around the property are lovely. Next visit I may try using the kitchen facilities!

The hotel had a lovely ambience. There is nice covered inside seating by a fountain, outside seating in the garden and a lovely roof top bar with tables & chairs, comfy seats and loungers. It was very relaxing. The room was as required with very good daily service. The bathroom was small but had all required amenities. There is no breakfast on site but you can eat take away food on site or 50% off at Restaurant Del Arco.

I had seen the parking was off site, so I wrote beforehand asking the address to see how far away it was, the hotel replied saying it was a 5 minute walk 2 blocks away, which sounded reasonable. When we arrived they provided another address which was a 20 minute drive away and not walkable at all. Staff was completely unhelpful and unfriendly, do not recommend staying here if you have a car, there are much better options in Antigua. Beds and pillows were uncomfortable, every amenity they offer is off site.

Location is excellent, very central to everything you want to see and do in Antigua. My first room was cramped (would have been fine without the extra twin bed crammed in); it also had a weird little hobbit bathroom tucked under the stairs which was fine for me as a solo/shorter traveler but could be super annoying for a group and/or taller guests. Second room I stayed in was just right but my knees touched the wall when I sat on the toilet. :D There is surprisingly little noise from the disco down the block, but one night the hostel across the street was really noisy. Two mornings I heard incessant hammering from whatever is behind the hotel starting at 7am. Shower was hot, which I learned later is not to be taken for granted in Guatemala… The rooftop patio and garden next to reception are nice for chilling out. Free drip coffee in the lobby, and espresso for a small fee. The two rescue dogs that live in the hotel are super sweet - they are definitely a highlight of the property.

Well-located in Antigua center, access to kitchen, on-site laundry service,pleasent and very helpful front-desk person, rooftop patio,coffee/tea station in the lobby. We liked our few days' stay at the Casa Rustica. Don't expect 5-star comfort, but it was precisely what we expected for the paid price.

It’s very nice , family and pet friendly , comfortably. The kitchen and fridge are free to use as well which is super convenient, There is however no parking included so you will have to pay the parking officers Q20 each day for the parking pass

The room with private bathroom & double bed was clean, comfortable & perfect for me as a solo traveller, lovely garden and sunrise view from my window with black out shutters for noise & light. Secure building with 24 hour courteous helpful ataff. Great volcano view from roof top patio with comfortable seating. Nice gardens, cooked in big kitchen, good clean big fridge, indoor couches if it rains. Very walkable ro everything. I booked 1 night online but extended my stay for my entire time in Antigua. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Great night sleep, very quiet. Staff were helpful. There’s a couple rooftop terraces, unfortunately there’s no cushions on many chairs and they are not well maintained, with a little effort these would be lovely areas with beautiful views.

On the site of Expedia it shoes a outside swimming pool and a fantastik terrasse with view on volcanos. Finaly the pool is at another hotel and you have to pay to have access and the terrasse showes only roofs and concrete. Very disapointed of this choice. Also the beds were not confortable and the commun kitchen dirty with old stuff to cook with. I don’t recommand. Unless with a very cheap Price.

There was a clump of hair in my tub…made me wonder if it was cleaned. They seemed to be cleaning the common area constantly though. Bathroom tiles were old and stained black. I was on the upper level and my windows opened to a porch. I was out there on her speakerphone constantly and smoking. Even though there were signs all over that said no smoking. I went to the front desk and their solution was to close the outer shutters on my window so I no longer had daylight or fresh air instead of telling her not to smoke or go in her room to be on the phone.

The room definitely had mold- the air was very moist and had a distinct smell and you could tell there was mold in the bathroom. I loved and appreciated the hospitality of the staff and LOVED the pups present on property.

Lodging not as advertised!!! This is more of a hostel than a hotel. There are beautiful hotels around Antigua for the same price as this not-so-great Casa Rustica. The photos on Expedia were beautiful, they showcased a bright spacious room that looked clean and organized, with a private balcony and private bathroom. The comforters were dirty, and the beds were quite old. The bathroom was indeed private, but you have to walk down the hall and have a key to get into your bathroom. No air conditioning, but there is a fan. The balcony is semi-private, not private, anyone had access to sit right outside your room on the rooftop. The hotel does allow dogs and advertises that, and has 3 rescue dogs that have free rein of the hotel. They did not seem well groomed/clean so hygiene was a concern with them. There is instant coffee available, and a shared kitchen should you choose to cook there. The only redemptive quality of this “hotel” was that a shuttle was requested, and available for us for $16 USD per person to the Guatemala City Airport. But all in all, I feel like I got scammed.

The hotel requires a major upgrade. Although the bedroom furniture is beautiful, it's oversized and not practical. The bathroom poses significant safety concerns. After returning from a hike, I nearly slipped due to the tile's texture, and the bedroom tiles are constantly wet due to the humidity. Moreover, the shower water temperature alternates between extremely hot and extremely cold, with no middle ground. The sheets as well was not washed properly as the stains were still visible. The coffee is free and realy good. The location is close to the major tourist sites.

Nos encantó todo! Muy limpio. Servicio excelente por parte de sus empleados. Limpieza diaria impecable a nuestra habitación. Servicio de lavandería excelente. Cerca de todo! Nos organizaron nuestro regreso al aeropuerto, algo que nos dio tranquilidad. Y algo que me gustó mucho es que tienen comida y agua para los perritos de la calle en la entrada del hotel! Recomendado!!

The location is very central, and the staff very helpful and attentive. Laundry facility on site, and common kitchen for all guests to use was convenient. No air conditioning in room. Had a ceiling fan, but it was quite noisy to sleep with. Would return again if visiting Antigua.

Everything was great. Only issue was the rooms were a bit hot a d the fans couldn't keep up. Otherwise, totally recommens staying here. Laundry service wasalso great and affordable

We stayed in Antigua for 6 nights. The Rustica was a great location. Easy to walk the entire town and get back here as your home base. The rooms are minimal/basic. Which when we travel, the room is for sleeping and getting a nice shower. We spend most of our time exploring. And this place met those needs. Some things to note: this place takes in stray dogs to give them a new home and a second chance. Which I love. But if you’re allergic note that they are free rooming downstairs. I never saw them sleeping on the furniture downstairs. But they did come up every once and awhile to our room to say hi and jumped on the bed once. But once asks to jump down they never did it again. And we did leave our door open to them coming up. So it is on us, that they came into the room. They have coffee all day everyday for free and it is wonderful! The staff comes in everyday and give you fresh towels and changes out the trash liner. As longs as you don’t have the DND sign up. They have 24 hour service at the front desk. Lastly but maybe most important to some, there is NO AIR-CONDITIONING. There is a fan in every room. We opened our small window. But after showering (even on low temp) the room would get very humid and stuffy. So we would leave our room door ajar to get the breeze in from the hallway. Which helped significantly.

I have definitely stayed in worse hotels costing more in the states. Overall this a nice property with great coffee and centrally located to all in Antigua. The staff and owner is very friendly. The beds are a bit on the hard side and the sheets thin. The rooms are clean and safe. For the money I think this is a good option.

My friend and I stayed in a room with a full bed and a twin bed. The room was so small we couldn’t fit an open suitcase anywhere but the bed. The wall paint was damaged and dirty, which could be easily fixed. The room was weirdly about 15 degrees warmer than the outside air, with no air conditioning, even with the window open and the (loud) fan running. The sheet didn’t fully cover the mattress and was scratchy. There was a tv hanging from the wall which took up a lot of space and that we both hit our heads on but it only had one channel and that was in Spanish. Room would be better without it. Cute throw pillows on the bed but nowhere to put them because there was no space. Hotel is in a prime location…I think if they increased their prices a little to increase quality within the room it’d be worth it. The courtyard is lovely and they have a great little roof deck. You have a kitchen and laundry at your disposal. Lots of potential but the room itself was just uncomfortable and unpleasant to be in.

The room was weirdly about 15 degrees warmer than the outside air, with no air conditioning, even with the window open and the (loud) fan running. The sheet didn’t fully cover the mattress and was scratchy. There was a tv hanging from the wall which took up a lot of space and that we both hit our heads on but it only had one channel and that was in Spanish. Room would be better without it. Cute throw pillows on the bed but nowhere to put them because there was no space. Hotel is in a prime location…I think if they increased their prices a little to increase quality within the room it’d be worth it. The courtyard is lovely and they have a great little roof deck. You have a kitchen and laundry at your disposal. Lots of potential but the room itself was just uncomfortable and unpleasant to be in.

I had seen the parking was off site, so I wrote beforehand asking the address to see how far away it was, the hotel replied saying it was a 5 minute walk 2 blocks away, which sounded reasonable. When we arrived they provided another address which was a 20 minute drive away and not walkable at all. Staff was completely unhelpful and unfriendly, do not recommend staying here if you have a car, there are much better options in Antigua. Beds and pillows were uncomfortable, every amenity they offer is off site.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged us an affordable shuttle to the airport from Antigua. Everything was very clean and comfortable. There were many beautiful sitting areas around the property to relax and have coffee. The hotel is in a great location with a lot of restaurant options within walking distance.

I enjoyed the courtyard and rooftop terrace. There was a language barrier with the front desk so I'm not sure how much of the negative aspects were because of that or they just weren't very accommodating. The attitude was that you were bothering them if you asked a question. I had to change rooms while I was there which was a fiasco.

Our rating is low overall because both Hotel Casa Rústica and Expedia failed to provide exceptional customer service, when, out of our control, our flights were cancelled by the airline and we were unable to check into our hotel on our original arrival date. Quiet, easy walking to central park, museums, and churches, la bodega supermarket just 2 minutes away, cerro de la cruz is 20 minutos walking beautiful view to the city and water volcano... I would also recommend going to el mercado where you can find clothes, shoes , food , etc ask for discount if you planing to buy anything there .

I had a very delightful stay at Hotel Casa Rustica. My room was a little snug but everything else was great. I made use of the kitchen facility more than once and enjoyed having it available. The manager at the front desk was helpful in arranging my transport to the airport when I needed it. The hotel location was close to the central plaza and to various shopping spots. It was an easy walk to many restaurants and local sites. I will keep this hotel at the top of my list for my next visit to Antigua.

The location was super central to everything the arc and central plaza. Restaurants all around walking distance to everything. The rooms and decor was beautiful, they have a pool table in the entrance and view of the water volcano from the rooftop was incredible. Rooms were clean also it is pet friendly. They don’t serve breakfast but had coupons for breakfast, lunch and dinner at another restaurant. I would definitely recommend.

The hotel had a lovely ambience. There is nice covered inside seating by a fountain, outside seating in the garden and a lovely roof top bar with tables & chairs, comfy seats and loungers. It was very relaxing. The room was as required with very good daily service. The bathroom was small but had all required amenities. There is no breakfast on site but you can eat take away food on site or 50% off at Restaurant Del Arco.

El hotel está muy bien ubicado en el centro de Antigua, llegas a todos lados caminando. El personal es muy amable y te ayudan con dudas o a reservar tours. Siempre tienen café y agua de cortesía en la recepción. Me encanta que es pet friendly y en la puerta siempre hay agua y croquetas para perritos. Hay dos perros que ladran cuando tocas la campana de la entrada pero son inofensivos. La habitación la reservé con cama matrimonial para 2 personas, era muy pequeña pero tiene todo lo básico, pero si llevas mucho equipaje tal vez necesites reservar una más grande (nosotros llevábamos 1 maleta por persona) aunque podrían mejorar en colchones y almohadas más cómodos. En general muy bien el hotel y el precio es bastante accesible en comparación de otros ubicados también en el Centro. Volvería definitivamente.

We loved our stay here. The location was perfect for exploring Antigua. It also has a terrace with views of the volcano and a serene garden to relax in after exploring the city. The staff was friendly and helpful. Filtered water was available in the kitchen to fill your reusable bottle. Ask them to arrange a city tour with Roberto. He was great. Only $18pp.

Secure building with 24 hour courteous helpful ataff. Great volcano view from roof top patio with comfortable seating. Nice gardens, cooked in big kitchen, good clean big fridge, indoor couches if it rains. Very walkable ro everything. I booked 1 night online but extended my stay for my entire time in Antigua. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

On the site of Expedia it shoes a outside swimming pool and a fantastik terrasse with view on volcanos. Finaly the pool is at another hotel and you have to pay to have access and the terrasse showes only roofs and concrete. Very disapointed of this choice. Also the beds were not confortable and the commun kitchen dirty with old stuff to cook with. I don’t recommand. Unless with a very cheap Price.
